Hotellet ligger ved stranden, men også midt i party-delen av south beach. Det er høy musikk der 24/7. På bilder ser rommene fresht ut med morsomme designdetaljer. I realiteten er de slitte med rustne håndtak på badet bla. Vil du feste og bo sentralt, og bryr deg ikke om rommet/hotellet, så er dette ok valg. Ellers styr unna.

Super coolt hotell, hadde en suite mot stranden rommet var fantastisk, men vi hadde disco over oss og under oss til kl 0500. Om du er party løve passer det perfekt

Passer best for unge og/eller sosiale mennesker, med toleranse for støy og fest. Rommene er ganske små, men er kult innredet og har en god seng. Om man ønsker bedre plass finnes det suiter og større rom, men de ligger med ut mot Ocean Drive hvor støynivået er veldig høyt, dette ble vi gjort oppmerksomme på under booking. Resturanten har veldig god […] mat, på høyde med alt annet på Ocean Drive, baren er også godt over snittet. Begge deler har et italiensk preg, siden hotellet drives av klesmerket Diesel(italienske jeans), samt at nesten alle i staben er italienere. Om du er opptatt av å bo hvor det skjer trår du ikke feil med å velge Pelican Hotel! Les mer

Blei litt overrasket da vi annkom da det hele virket mere som en bar, enn et diskotek ( må gå igjennom resturant/cafe for å finne resepsjonen Kjempefornøyd med oppholdet. Fikk gratis håndklær for stranden og gratis solstoler. samt en gratis flaske vin hvis man spiste middag i resturanten og 2 gratis drinker !' Litt stive priser i restauranten me utmerket […] mat og verdens beste mojitoer !! ( 16$ !! ) Utmerket hotell med kreative "theme room" Vi bodde på "Tarzand & Vain" rommet som låg på baksiden og var et stille og fint rom med god plass. Badet var noe slitt (gulvet) med rikelig utstyrt elles (telefon på badet :) ) Ikke umulig at jeg benytter dette hotellet igjen ved en senere anledning ! Les mer

Outstanding service hotel! Cannot say enough about the front desk service. There was a large street party happening which closed down Ocean drive and they came out to meet us 3 blocks away to valet our car and transport our bags.

Good price for the location. Right in the middle of everything; quiet at night. Large pool area with direct beach access, chairs and umbrellas included! That is rare for ocean dr. Staff very friendly and accomodating! I would definitely stay here again!!!

We just came back from 2 nights at the pelican. Good bits first! The staff were lovely, we liked the 4 bottles of free water in the fridge everyday and the drinks menu that's free for guests between 4 and 6, beach towels and beach loungers are included in the price and the location is really, really good for the beach. Then the not so greats ---the […] room 208 had a wow factor when we walked in but all the novelty soon wore off. The cool retro furniture is original, so it's a bit mismatched and things are generally wobbly or broken, but hey no biggie. But the bed was hard, the sheets basic and the headrest uncomfortable to lean against.The skinny terrace nature of the hotel means only 6 or so rooms have a forward facing windows, so even if you pay for a 'deluxe king suite' with two huge windows, you're still actually staying somewhere that resembles a teenager's basement room. I woke up at 10am and had to find my phone to check if it was morning - it was that dark. Also there is no public space, just a reception. Make sure you get an ocean view, avoid otherwise. Les mer

Great hotel with a European flavor. Staff was very nice. Beds were hard but I like that. Given that it is in an area that has some of the liveliest nightlife in the US, do not be surprised if it is loud and your neighbors are having a party. Fun for night or two, the noise might get old after that...

Plumbing was poor, whenever anyone flushed toilets in the hotel the showers got too hot. Service was good overall. The hotel was very busy, if you want that its perfect. Looks a little shop worn though. Internet was free and worked well. Free water in the rooms, but the best part was...free drinks for hotel guests from 4-6.

We loved our visit. The location is great, the room was fun, clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar are a great asset. Decent food at reasonable prices. The daily happy hour is a steal, as is the breakfast menu. And the restaurant staff are phenomenal. The Brazilian manager (didn't get his name) runs a tight ship. It was everything I expected from reading the other reviews. Small but nice. The shower was amazing. Didn't really open the window because there were supper loud fans in the alley outside, couldn't hear them with the window closed. I could hear the people in the next room through a door that can combine them but I think they were being to loud, not […] really the hotels fault. Who is fighting on valentines day? I had a layover in Miami and decided to spend a night in South Beach. The Pelican is in a great location - right in the middle things on Ocean Drive, very close to the News Cafe. The hotel is fun, decor is clever, staff were helpful, room/bed was super comfy, and I really liked the rainfall showerhead. The location is awesome, a block from the "Bird Cage" and right across from the beach. It was super congested when we arrived but the valet guys helped ease us into our stay. Check in was flawless and lots of employees offered to assist with anything we needed, an obvious sign of a well-managed hotel. The free drinks at happy hour were excellent although […] be careful as they are made VERY strong - no watered down "tourist" drinks here! The room was nice, about what I expected for the price. Bed was firm as others have mentioned buy didn't bother me. Lunch the next day in the restaurant was superb, some of the best steak fries I've ever had. Overall experience was very good and I'd stay at this property again for sure. Les mer

Hotel overall was pretty decent but it has seen better days (art deco does not equal old furniture, towels and bed linen were pretty worn). The location is as good as it gets, straight on Ocean Drive, 30 seconds from the beach.

A beautiful and an original hotel right on Ocean Drive. Very friendly staff. Art Deco hotel designed by Diesel. No room look alike.

my room, awful. I have been traveling for 45 years all over the world, this room however was the worst I ever stayed in. Dark, gloomy, horrible horrible decor if one can call that, do not ever stay in 205, not to be believed. I even called in in the afternoon asking them not to give ,me the worst room in the hotel since I was coming in late, but they […] did anyway. I was completely shocked. The fan is so noisy, one has the feeling it is the toilet in a plane, it takes the clothes off, cannot be used. Shades, a dark wooden shade, has to be closed at all times since the other hotel is right next door, one can touch the otehr house. there is no whatsoever light. One cannot read a book in bed, there is no light except the spotlights on the ceiling and some kind of a floorlamp that I moved to the bed, not a reading lamp, badly designed, my GOD. I cannot imagine any room worse than that one, but probably there are. No way I would recommend that hotel. Staff nice, lobby nice, but I don't sleep there. dreadful room Les mer

PROS: AMAZING Open Bar for guests from 4-6PM, Location, Stylish-HIp, ipod dock, Decor, Check-In Staff. CONS: STIFF!!!Beds, Thin walls (could hear conversations from room next door), Small ants creeping into the room (had to ask housekeeping to do something about it.) Overall; I would stay here again if the price was right.

As we are among the older of the visitors to Miami we initially wondered if it was for us, we needn't have worried. The Pelican was very conveniently situated on Ocean Drive close to lots of varied restaurants, good as we like to eat out. The staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. Our room intrigued us as it was very fifties […] and lots of the interior decor was well remembered by us. The only downside for us was the walking involved but the bus tour we took around the city and beach area was great as we saw lots more than on foot. The free happy hour drinks were a bonus and the food at the hotel was excellent. We would definately visit Miami again as we found the whole experience fascinating. Les mer

Nice well kept Art Deco hotel right in the middle of the ocean drive action. Very unique theamed rooms which adds to the experience. They had a complimentary happy hour and the bar tender was suburb! Very much enjoyed my stay!

Stayed there 21st to 24th Sep 2012, staff very friendly and efficient, room clean and housekeeping always did a good job. Free drinks for guests from 4pm to 6pm so very sociable. Great location lots of restaurants and bars around. Room was located at the rear of the hotel so no noise from outside, not a hotel for everyone but will definitely stay there […] again in the future. Les mer

We had a wonderful stay at the Pelican. The room decoration was interesting and unique, the staff were always very friendly and helpful, happy hour (two hours daily) offered everything on the drinks menu - including cocktails - entirely free and the location was great for both the beach and clubs. If you have an opportunity to stay here whilst in Miami, […] take it. Loved that they were individually decorated, a little small but ultra clean and modern, everything you could need and very helpful staff. Chocolate and weather forecast and free sunbeds on the beach huge bonus! Didn't enjoy South Beach tbut don't have any complaints about the hotel, it made the trip bearable!

The location, staff and breakfast were all great. Right in the middle of the South Beach action but still a quiet room. Broken blinds did not help me sleep off the fun!

Maybe I'm getting old, but this hotel may be too trendy for its own good. The rooms are very industrial. There is a frosted glass window separating the bedroom from the bathroom. I didn't enjoy seeing my fiance's profile while he was seated on the can. There was a metal fan on the ceiling that felt like a jet engine when it was turned on, blew everything […] around the room and was way too loud to be practical. However, the toiletries were very nice and everyone at check-in and check-out were nice. I also loved that it was on Ocean Drive. Les mer

We stayed 3 nights and would definitely return in the future. Excellent staff, quirky (read: cool!) rooms with the best shower I have ever used, unbeatable happy hour (free drinks!) in a perfect location. Beach towels and beach lounge chairs included. Decent food, too!
