"Convenient location"
I took my sister and niece to San Antonio for a production of "CATS" at the Majestic Theater. Our stay at the Homewood Suites was perfect for that occasion. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even the housekeeping staff left notes on our beds each day wishing us a good day! The breakfast was wonderful and the rooms were very clean. The room we […] were in seemed to be in need of some updating where the carpet was concerned. Just worn, not dirty. The hotel got a 3 for that in an otherwise very comfortable room (the carpet was coming away from the baseboard in places). The hotel also got a rating of 4 for the area. We know San Antonio very well as we all travel there several times a year and so were not put off by the location in the downtown area. The river is literally right out the back door of the hotel, we were able to walk to the Majestic from our hotel, the trolley runs literally right in front of the hotel. Those complaining about valet cost/service need to understand that NO WHERE in downtown San Antonio can you stay at a hotel and park for free at the facility. There are parking lots where you can park cheaper, but they are not always secure and, unfortunately, San Antonio like many large cities has a problem with cars being broken into and/or stolen. If you are flying into town, you might want to consider taking a cab/shuttle to the hotel and renting a car for the day if you are going to the missions or other day trips. Save yourself car rental and valet costs. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. In fact, my husband and I are looking at a trip to San Antonio for our anniversary and we will be staying at Homestead Suites. Les mer

15 minute walk to Convention Center, Alamo, River Center, etc. Great staff, large rooms, ample breakfast. On the Riverwalk but in a quiet section. What you save on room will buy a nice dinner somewhere. Valet parking only and expensive. Cheaper lot very close by. Would be my choice again.

The hotel room exceeded all of my expectations. The level of service provided by all staff, with whom I had contact, was professional and excellent. The location was on the River walk, close to services, entertainment and restaurants. Well worth the visit.
"Pleasantly surprised"
We had to cancel a reservation at a different hotel due to uncleansiness of the room and walked into a beautiful hotel with a nice view, clean room and easy access to the river walk. Definately will stay again.

"Tired property"
I've stayed at other Homewood Suites and have been very satisfied. This property is in need of upgrades and basic maintenance. The toilet would inadvertantly come on and off throughout our stay. There were many nicks and paint scars throughout the room. The mattress was very soft and was the smallest Queen I've ever been in. In fact I'm almost certain […] it was a full/double because it was cramped with my 12 year old daughter sharing it. Most of the staff was good. Breakfast was terrible...powdered eggs. Les mer

My stay at this hotel was the most pleasant. It was a very personal hotel with a very friendly and welcoming staff, always willing to answer any questions I had. The front desk personnel were excellent and displayed an exceptional effort to serve us. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to the Riverwalk and other areas of interest. […] The suite was very clean and comfortable. I loved the ceiling fan in the bedroom, such a warm touch of home. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast, although not too wide a selection, the quality was good and appetizing. This hotel has large, comfortable, relaxing rooms. We enjoy staying here every time we visit San Antonio. The lobby has great views of the riverwalk all along the side, places to sit and view, and comfortable seating with large screen TVs for the sport enthusiast who also likes to gaze out at the passersby from time to time. My family and I checked in on a Monday and stayed yil Friday. The staff at the hotel was nothing but first class. The women in the mornings with breakfast were great. The cleaning people were awesome too. We will always try and stay here when we come back to San Antonio. Everyone should be given a pat on the back for their great service they provide. "Nice & Quiet"
The Homewood Suites is right on the Riverwalk, but a couple of blocks from the 'Main Drag' area. Close enough to enjoy the nightlife, but quiet when we wanted it. The breakfast & manager's receptions were very nice. The bed was advertised as a queen, but was actually a full size bed. My only complaint is that the trash pickup for neighboring dumpsters […] occurred about 3:30 a.m.. Les mer
"Great Hotel on the River Walk"
This hotel is toward the end of the River Walk, but it is right on the river and is away from the noise that comes with the center of the river. It is in a nice neighborhood and is close to all of the San Antonio downtown attractions. The hotel was clean, well-kept, and the staff was friendly. I definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a great location, parking is high however you can come and go and not have to re-pay. Room was clean and spacious. Staff was very courteous. Complimentary breakfast was great, out two children loved the selection. Our 2nd time to stay here. Great location and wonderful breakfast & Happy Hour type food! Rooms are very large, and VERY clean! Only downside-- $25 to park, nightly.
"Nice and All"
The hotel was nice enough and the breakfast was good. The one main concern that I had was that there was some unsightly caulking marks on the windows and that we could hear the rooms on both sides of us. But overall the hotel was nice and suited all our needs.

We were very pleased with the Homewood Suites Riverwalk. The rooms were spacious and clean. Guest services were outstanding. We will be staying with them again and will recommend to our friends.

This hotel has a great location since we were able to walk to Market Square, the Riverwalk and the Alamo. The rooms were VERY comfortable as well. The parking is very high but there is a $5 lot just 2 blocks away.

We went for a Bachelorette Party. They upgraded us to a 2 bedroom Suite. It was Fabulous! The service was great from Valet, to check in to Housekeeping!! Definitely will book again! VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!

We had a great stay. The location was great and the rooms were spotless. The staff is friendly and very helpful and after reading the other reviews I called in advance to pick up my car and it actually arrived downstairs before I did. You do have to pay for parking, but thats just San Antonio. Will be staying again on the next trip.
We loved this hotel. We were on the riverwalk and walked down to the mall everyday. The room was very spacious. There were 5 of us staying and sometimes we had friends over too and there was always plenty of room. They had buffet breakfast and dinner which saved us money. We are planning another trip and plan to stay at the same location.

Excellent location for the Riverwalk & Alamo sites seeing. Only a few minutes from the waterparks. Enjoyed our stay very much. The only thing that we were not pleased about was the cost of valet parking, for what you pay a night for the room, parking should not be so expensive. We recently stayed during fourth of July weekend and he rooms were very nice (really love suites!) but didn't even stop to think about parking. We arrived in a full size van and were informed the didn't have any parking available for full size vehicles so I ended up parking in a lot a couple blocks away. Good location, and neighbourhood. avg hotel breakfast, and rooms with veiw are more than avg hotel prices in area, toilets are basic, and bed size are average. Good hotel to jump in for a night and jump out, but not suitable for long term stay..............max two days.

We had no idea what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised! We had a huge suite with enough room for a 3 year old. Really more than half the size of our house. This was just the greatest deal with breakfast and dinner included. Being right on the riverwalk was just a major bonus!
Everyone from the garage attendants, room service,desk attendants went out of the way to be helpful and at our service. The desk attendant saw a group of us taking group pictures and even assisted us in picture takings so all of us could be included in the group picture. one desk attendant gave us directions to a place to eat,so off we went,about half […] way there we heard someone trying to get our attention and turned and saw the garage attendant running to catch up with us. He stated desk attendant gave us the wrong directions and sent him to tell us the correct route. never in years of traveling had anyone chased me down to correct wrond directions. We found this amazing and so helpful. When checking out, expressed to the manager how wonderful everyone had been to us. great place to stay. The hotel was a little hard to find, very hidden. Valet and front desk was very hospitable. The condition of the room was not up to par. The bathroom was dirty and the room smelled of bleach. The ammenities are out of date as well.
