Ramada Anchorage Downtown - Anchorage

The stay was fine. The people were friendly. There was no mountain view as promised however. I only stayed overnight before continuing my trip so it was not an inconvenience however so it was not a big deal for me but it is not something that should be advertised.

It was in a nice location but overall, the room it'self was very small for two beds,and the location was great, close to malls and stores but t was a little noisy when cars passed by.

I stayed here for 2 nights before the ceremonial start of the Iditarod. The location was perfect; I easily walked to all the downtown sights and shops. I was picked up promptly at the airport by their shuttle and was warmly greeting and settled into my room when I arrived. The staff was knowledgable and helpful with all my questions, and very friendly. […] The room was clean, the furniture a bit worn, but not too tired. I can't believe Ramada has their name on the front of this propoerty, what a dump. Loud street in front, staff were not friendly, breakfast was only so-so. The room was the size of a closet.

We only stayed in Anchorage one night after a skiing trip to Girwood. I chose this hotel because it is close to the mall, the price was right and they offer airport shuttle. I walked to the mall and came back with bags and it was such a short walk (we did not have a rental car). The room and bathroom were clean and simple. The employees were nice and […] helpful. Hotel is in disrepair. The room was dirty, stained carpet, loud and noisy fan on heater forced me to wear ear plugs all night. Not a great experience and one I will not repeat.

This is the nicest, inexpensive hotel that I end up at when in Anchorage. I have always ended up with a clean well maintained room. The hotel is fairly quiet and has a nice complimentary breakfast. It is a couple blocks away from most activities, but that doesn't bother me.

I was pleased with the continental breakfast, really generous and good food. I was also pleased with the convenience store prices and availability. The staff was fantastic! The only criticism was the bathroom needed maintenance & there was no refrigerator as advertised so we used the balcony & Alaska cold instead!

The staff was very friendly, but the room was not clean especially the bathroom. I don't tend to be super anxious about cleanliness, but I was not willing to walk barefoot in the hotel and just planned to have my family wait a day to shower until we were home. My stay at the Ramada was cozy and adequate. The room was functional. Two issues: 1) the heater in the room (and others as I overheard in the hall) are very loud. 2) The shower curtain bar was sagging which made closing the shower curtain completely impossible. Called the front desk- they sent the maintenance man immediately who fixed it. Continental […] breakfast is fine. Nothing special but if you're on a budget, it a great way to cut food expenses. All in all, not bad. If I couldn't afford a nicer place, I'd come here again. Les mer

Hotel staff was pleasant during check in and out. Room is very cramped and you can hear noise from other guests and the parking lot all night long. Next to a busy road so you can hear cars driving by all night and even a train at one point. Looks like they were updating during our stay, they had paint and tools in carts down the hallway. Says no smoking […] but you can smell old cigarette smoke in hallways. Their continental breakfast was really great. waffles/biscuits with gravy/fruit etc. Almost made up for the noise. Almost. I was very happy with the hotel, there is a microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge, laundry, a great continental breakfast and very friendly staff. My one and only complaint is the pillows, they are flat but that is my opinion. I love big fluffy pillows. I would be happy to stay here again.

The receptionist is helpful to our enquiries during our stay. Location of the hotel is towards one end of downtown and a 10 minutes walk to the centre of downtown. Rooms are pretty clean but not that roomy. Not much of amenities are provided in the hotel and breakfast are so so only. The cheerful, accommodating staff takes much pride in the Ramada Downtown Anchorage, which speaks volumes for an establishment. Even though the hotel is an older one it was well kept and clean. Good location for someone without a vehicle. The free airport/convention center shuttle was available when needed. The breakfast was substantial and had many […] choices from healthy to the not so much (home-made waffles w/ strawberries and whipped cream.) Someone was there the whole time at the self-serve area and kept things clean and the items replenished. All needed amenities are provided free of charge (Internet, business center, breakfast, microwave, fridge, airport and convention center(s) shuttle.) Great location for us....close to everythng we wanted to be close to. Although the hotel was kind of "dated"we didn't mind as the price and location were great! The staff were friendly and very accomodating....and we loved the big (free) breakfast every morning. We would definately recommend this hotel to others. A nice experience overall.

The room was smaller than I expected from a Ramada and first impressions of the room was "don't touch anything...." The curtains need cleaning as does the carpeting. Our room faced a busy street so we used the fan someone left in the room to cover the noise. We stayed 5 nights however because it is one of the best deals in Anchorage and decided to save […] money on the hotel and spend it on sightseeing. The breakfast buffet is above average and well stocked, and the staff is very friendly. The hotel was booked full every night which is says something for it. The location to downtown is excellent. Good thing is the room was cheap. Beyond that...not good. Worst bed I've ever slept on (at least in the U.S.). There was so much street noise it was as if there was no window at all to block the sound. I had a random wake-up call at 5am that I did not ask for. All of the finishes were dated and old. It really felt more like a motel that was converted […] to a Ramada. Overall, way below what I expected from a Ramada and I don't really have high expectations for them. Les mer

For the price, the hotel was okay. Close to train station so the train whistle woke us up several times that night/morning. Breakfast was better than average for free continental. Free off street parking. We ate at the attached restaurant, Slippery Salmon, when we arrived and were less than impressed with the food and service. This was by far the best hotel that I have stayed in for this type of hotel. They do everything right including the breakfast, pick up and return to airport, friendliness, room maintenance, location, etc.....I highly recommend them.

Hotel's generally ok. Close to downtown. Pleasantly surprised that they have elevator even though it has only 3 levels. Breakfast ok, basic but enough to fuel your morning. The staff could do better in their service, if they are more friendly and smile rather than having the "don't bother me too much" attitude.

While my room smelled a little musty, the hotel was a five minute walk to my meeting venue. HOWEVER, the front desk phoned me at 3:15am Saturday night to wake me out of a sound sleep. They said they had a noise complaint and I had to stop my non-existant raucous party. They wouldn't believe me when I said I was alone in the dark and claimed there were […] people on my balcony. No one actually came up to my room to check. I never got back to sleep. On checkout, I did get the clerk to admit there had been no people partying on my balcony, but no apology or redress was offered. When I said I wouldn't be staying at the Ramada again, all she said was "sorry to hear that." Les mer
