Econo Lodge Convention Center - Portland

We were very pleased with the room and the location. We were able to leave our car there during the day and walk to the convention center and to the light rail red line and blue line. The staff is very friendly.

The Hotel and the rooms are a bit dated, but the people who run the Hotel are nice and the rooms are clean. I did not think I would be able to get much sleep with traffic on Broadway, but the rooms are fairly quiet.

The room was passable; clearly aged. The breakfast was a joke - some pre-wrapped Svenhard's danishes and some orange juice. But, it was right across the street from the Rose Garden, which made it perfect to get to sleep quick after the Blazers game!

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It was a good price and close to the train station. I had a good WiFi connection in my room as well, but the sound of traffic took a little time to get used to.

The people that run the place are very nice. It was clean and everything worked. Given the rather noisy location the room wasn't very noisy at all.

Great place to stay if your in town for a concert or sporting event. Short walk to the Rose Quarter and very convienent...

We approached the hotel from the south and saw a deserted lot and a dirty exterior wall. The signage was small. It had us worried that it was a dive. Around the corner it looked fine. Very dated but reasonably comfortable. Not a place you would head for in the evening to relax, just sleep. We found the beds comfortable and there was some exterior traffic […] noise. There was a promise of a continental breakfast but that was going to happen in the lobby at 7:00 a.m. The lobby was a room about eight fet be eight feet. We left a little after 7 each morning and nothing materialized. That factored into added cost for us as we had to eat out each morning. Not expecting that. The literal hole-in-the-wall in the bathroom wasn't the most attractive. The room was also a bit smelly/stinky.

Very happy with accomodation, very close to shops etc. New light rail just started out front fantastic.

The shower was nice with a new curtain, plenty of hot water and a good flow. The fridge was welcome as were the free local calls. The woman at the desk was very helpful. The room smelled a bit musty but not too bad. It would not be a good place for romance.

I was late to book my hotel for a conference in Portland, and chose to stay at this place because of its low price and proximity to public transportation as reasonable downtown accommodation options had sold out. I was satisfied with my choice, but I believe the place might be a better fit for someone getting around by car. During my stay, I really […] appreciated the excellently friendly and helpful staff, and the fact that quick breakfast snacks to-go were provided for free in the tiny lobby in the mornings. The room I stayed in was well kept and not too small. The free WiFi Internet in the room worked great, though certain ports were blocked (meaning no remote file system access through AFS for me). Rose Garden TC, a major public transportation hub, is five minutes' walk away, or you can park your car at the hotel. Downsides include that my room lacked a hair dryer, and the eerily deserted surroundings of the hotel. (It is located next to the Rose Garden stadium, so there's nobody around except through traffic when there are no stadium events.) Light sleepers might be affected by the traffic noise from the major road outside the hotel, but I had no problem with it. Les mer

It served my purpose. Didn't spend much time in the room. Old building, but room was clean and breakfast incl was only orange juice, coffee, packaged sweet bread. For low budget travel, it's the right price.

The only good thing about this hotel, was that it was in walking distance to where we needed to be (coliseum). When we got into the room, we opened the fridge, and there was a bunch of food left in there from the last occupants. Gross. Then I went into the bathroom, and there were hairs on the sink. Obviously the only thing the maid did, was walk in […] and make the bed and leave. We called the front desk and told her about the food in the fridge, and she came up and got it out. Didn't wipe it out or clean it, just, took the old food out. I told her that the bathroom hadn't been cleaned either it didn't seem, and she just kind of fluffed that off and said she has a new maid and, "Sorry". Stay was great, hotel room was spotless and management was friendly and responsive, answering our questions re how to get to MAX stops, location of sights, etc. To get to things other than the Convention Center (it's right across the street) - such as restaurants or coffee shops - you have to walk 15-20 mins, drive, or take the MAX. That was fine w/ […] my wife and I since we like to walk. The hotel is right on Broadway so there was a bit of road noise - not enough to keep me awake, however. I would defitintely stay here again. The location was very convenient; the morning coffee was great and the room was very clean and odor free. I will return for all the reasons noted especially the price comfort ratio which was high.

The staff here was pretty nice. I didn't get the conenental breakfast each morning because I had other plans (sleeping in being one of those plans.) They could stand to add an hour to the contenental breakfast hours. Everyting was pretty clean. The only thing that really sucked was their WiFi access. It was spotty at best. The manager is very kind and helpful and also seemed to always be around when needed. There are simple pastries and coffee for breakfast which was great to grab and eat as we headed into the city. The fridge did not work and one of the lights by the bed was broken. The bed was comfortable and it is only a block from the rose garden. The room was clean. Have stayed at this motel before to see various things at the rose garden.

This is not a 5 star hotel. But it is in a 5 star location. Walk to most Portland attractions. Room was clean & comfortable. Owners were nice, friendly, and helpful with information about their town. Easy access to freeways & roadways. Great stay for the price!

The location is great if you are attending anything at the Rose Garden. You are right behind the facility. Close to the bridge to downtown Pearl Dist. and just off of MLK Dr. So centrally located. The motel is older but our room was clean and we really only spent one night but I would go back.

This is really a hidden gem. Competitive price if you just need a room so you don't have to drive home from an event at the Rose Garden if you don't want to. We live in Roseburg, three hours away. Dirt in the Showers, socks were black after walking on the carpet. Uncomfortable beds. Complained to the guy at the front desk and he told me to take it up with hotels.com. Basically didn't care about customer service. Will never use this hotel again and DO NOT recommend at all. They don't deserve your money.

I attended the get motivated seminar and stayed the night before. For a few extra dollars the hotel let us leave the car there during our event. A quick ten minute walk had us at the Rose Garden and leaving that afternoon was snap, No parking garage gridlock! The room wasn't fancy but recently updated, clean and comfortable. Having never been to Portland I took a shot in the dark when choosing a hotel for the first night. I have had positive experiences at Econo Lodge hotels in Texas and I thought it was a good deal for the price. NOT SO. I requested non-smoking but stayed in a smoking room. There was no chain on the door. The "Continental Breakfast" they bragged about […] online consisted of coffee, orange juice, and a dried out danish. The neighborhood left a lot to be desired as well. The first thing we notice when we step in the room.it was pretty old motel and it smells.The second we set down on the bed.One side of the box-spring was broken.The sink stopper was gone.The tv remote back cover was gone also,the smoke detector battery was gone.I went down and told the clerk( his name is resik) what happened.He just say he is very sorry.The […] maintenance man was not in and he don't have any other room for me. A typical Econo Lodge--older motel. In this case, the small room was freshly painted and the bathroom updated. Everything was spotlessly clean. The motel was in a convenient location for us, just walk across the Broadway Bridge, and you're at the edge of the Pearl District. It's a short distance to the I5/I84 entrance ramps. The manager was very pleasant and my room was perfect! The bathroom (usually an issue with EconoLodges) looked newly remodeled. The bed was VERY firm, which I like very much! I was late getting up and food was already gone but McD's was within walking distance and the coffee in the room was excellent. Ihan jees, ottaen huomioon hintatason. Huoneet on vanhoja ja yöllä kuuluu meteliä ikkunan läpi. Kahvinkeitin ja kahvia oli, mutta ei esimerkiksi vaatenaulakkoa johon ripustaa takkinsa.
