Koselig og særpreget gammel pub ved elven, 5-10 min.å gå til sentrum.Ved park/naturområde. Like ved det største universitetet. Fine, nyopppussede rom i 2.etasje, rent og flott, meget bra bad. Hyggelig betjening. God frokost med flere valgmuligheter, middagsservering til kl.21.

Ikke så veldig fornøyd. Da vi kom i resepsjonen, så virket ikke de som jobbet der så veldig fornøyde, men det bedret seg etter hvert. Og på rommet var det bare en håndduk. Der burde det vært to ettersom at vi hadde booket et dobbeltrom. Og dessuten lå hotellet egentlig alt for langt unna sentrum til å kunne være 4 stjerner. Men det skal de ha, det var stille der om kvelden, og de hadde basseng, steamrom, badstue, trimrom og god frokost.

Fikk rommet allerede ved adkomst kl 11.30 , det var deilig siden turen hadde begynt 04.30 i Oslo. Rommet var lite men rent og ordentlig. Koselig lobby . Grei bellighenhet i forhold til flybusser og med Oxford sentrum i umiddelbar nærhet.

I booked this hotel on the basis of the Gym. After the excesses of Xmas I felt I needed to get back into shape. I was not dissapointed with both the hotel in general and the large well stocked Gym. I would definately stay here again when working in the area.

I expected a little more as far as service went, considering it was the Christmas holidays and one would expect good service around peak holidays. I ordered a snack late on Christmas & breakfast the next morning & both I must say was disgusting. Not only was the food cold & dry...it was also missing essentials. "Odd - Mercure Swindon South Marston Hotel and Spa"
I only say odd because of the layout of this hotel. I was in Room 25 on the ground floor and had to go through a labyrinth of doors to find my room. The room was OK - bed comfy and large but the bathroom needs some updating. Had room service which was slow but the food was excellent.

We have stayed at this hotel many times, when it was owned by different chains and I have to say that although the other parts of the hotel are new and very welcoming, and the staff were lovely, the bar area is too sparce now and very clinical looking. We stayed because we have family in the village, so it is the nearest option, but we had drinks at […] the bar and felt like we were sat in a library. I would be disappointed if I had stayed here as part of a weekend away etc, as there is not much else to do in the surrounding area, due to the hotel being situated in a tiny rural village. Les mer

"Mercure near Swindon - nice spa centre!"
The hotel has a rambling set of buildings, but nicely done inside. The rooms are gorgeous; the double bed is huge! The location is in a lovely village outside Swindon. It's fine if you want a peaceful location and can travel by car. We had free use of the pool and spa. I believe there is a gym and so on too. Nice facilities.

Very comfortable rooms, good size, ample room for luggage. Nice dining room, good food. Charming pub in area nearby as well. Nice lobby. However, finding the place was very difficult, even with mapquest. Tricky location WAY off the beaten path. Excellent value.

The refurbishment is very nice and the bedroom clean and comfortable. The pool, sauna and turkish bath good. A bit of attention to door handles and fixings here and there would be good and the breakfast quality needs improving - not much for a diabetic and a bit chaotic

Good value at the summer special rate. Fitness centre was good and the breakfast buffet was also enjoyable. Free wireless internet was also provided. The staff were friendly and helpful. 15 minute drive to the centre of Swindon.

Room very good but Hotel was let down by two things: The rooms were badly signposted which meant that my wife and I with two heavy suitcases wandered around for a while trying to find to our room. Secondly, breakfast was a complete shambles. If it wasn't part of a very good deal I would have seriously complained

The rooms were basic and noisy. The bar was bright and boring, felt more like a church. The jacuzzi and pool were nice.

The location of the hotel is nice. The room was very basic but clean. The staffs were friendly and polite. Only eat in the restaurant once the menu was basic, and overpriced. "South Marston Hotel - very quiet location"
We stayed here for 2 nights. Most people were on the all inclusive package and I could see why. Bar meals were very expensive - £23 for a 6oz rib eye steak! The hotel cashes in on the fact that they are miles away from everywhere. We ate at the small pub in South Marston Village - not to be recommended, and at the Carpenters Arms just outside South […] Marston - a little better. Leisure facilities at the hotel were excellent. We booked 2 rooms together but were at opposite ends of the hotel - not a major problem but slightly inconvenient. The bar area was all white which seemed a bit strange, and lacked atmosphere. We usually stay at the Marroitt in Swindon and will go back there next time because of the central location. However, we had stayed at South Marston many years ago when it was part of the Devere chain but they still cannot get the buzzing atmosphere and the amount of people that were there then. If you do stay, it might be worthwhile upgrading to a better room - ours was quite small. Les mer
"Lovely location"
The location of the hotel is lovely and very handy for getting to Shrivenham in the morning. I did find, however, the staff seemed miffed most of the time and on asking about hot water (after establishing what this was) was told to wait twice in one night for the boiler to heat the water. "great for the Gym! just a place to stay for the night"
the gym really makes this hotel! the room was bog standard (althought the largest bed i've ever seen!). it was in a nice area and as a single business woman, i would stay there again (it meets the basic needs - bed and gym), but the builders dont help the quality of the stay right now. i think they're doing up some of the rooms so when i checked in […] at 5pm they were still working... banging, drilling etc in the room next to me... but that doesn't worry me - what does annoy me was that on leaving they left the fire escape at the end of the corridor, unlocked (backing onto a car park - only 2 doors away from my room). i tried to close it, but it seemed broken - told the front desk (a lad of around 20 years, and his manager standing in the doorway) but they didnt really seem to care and said he would check. when i returned to my room at 10pm that night to sleep it was still open - i slept with the light on, my door locked. We stayed 3 nights at the Nightingale Hotel while staying in the Oxford area. It was wonderful to have such a large room to spread out in, and the location of the hotel itself could not have been better.
