Hotellets plassering er midt i smørøyet. Bare pass på å gå i riktig retning, 6 street ligger veldig nært hotellet der har man ikke noe å gjøre, (mye kriminalitet). Går man riktig vei, noe som ikke er spesielt vanskelig havner man der hvor alt skjer, lett å få taxi til andre områder også. Litt slitne og små rom, men helt ok. Vi hadde elendig nett tilgang, […] noe de visstnok sliter med. Er plassering viktig, er dette hotellet til en fin pris. Ønsker du å være mye på hotellrommet, finn noe annet. Det er tydeligvis bare normalt å skifte lakenet man ligger på, og lakenet man har over seg. "Dynen"/teppet blir det skiftet svært skjeldent på. Det var store skittflekker på begge toppdekken. Sengeteppene tok vi selvsagt av med en gang. Fin beliggenhet, litt lite imøtekommende ansatte. Lite hilsing o.s.v. Hotellet ligger ypperlig plassert, kort vei […] til trikk, buss og kabeltrikk. MEGET sentralt i SF. Ta gjerne BART-toget til Powell, det er kun 2 kvartaler derfra. Da ser du også hvor Cable Car starter, som går over til Fishermans Wharf, og du får se Lombard Street. The hotel was a quick walk from BART at the Powell Street Station. Great location - lots of nearby shopping, restaurants and walkable to AT&T Park to see the SF Giants. The room was clean and comfortable and I enjoyed the attached restaurant/bar. The windows open for fresh air and the bathroom was nice.

Great location! Clean room and friendly staff.

Beds were clean, I was pleased to have a fresh-cleaned duvet, however I noticed too often the lack of attention to detail throughout the hotel. Mismatched colors of repainting, Ceiling stains, dusty fake plants in the lobby, no bathroom fan. Won't be going back to this hotel, but great location.

The Pickwick is incredibly convenient in downtown San Francisco. It is right next to the Downtown mall, one block to Moscone Convention Center, and the Metreon mall, and just one block from the BART train, which made it easy to get to from the airport. The hotel is definitely showing its age, with some peeling paint and older fixtures, but the rooms […] are a good size, with decent bathrooms, and are appointed with victorian-esque furnishings, and relatively comfortable beds (though not the best I've had). You do kind of feel like you've stepped back in time actually, which made for a relaxing stay, despite a hectic conference center. Les mer

While the Pickwick is an older hotel, showing both the inherent charm and slight wear and tear, its staff is one of the most courteous, helpful I have encountered in all of my travels. The room was comfortable even though a little small, great for the price, and having free wifi was fabulous when most hotels in the area charge a lot per day. It's close […] to the Muscone convention center, which was another reason I chose this location, and right next to some amazing shopping for those who aren't just going for conventions. this is an old hotel, walls,carpet are kind of worn out. Front desk could be warmer and friendlier. the location is convenient,the neighborhood is safe, the rate is good compare to other hotels in the neighborhood. if it is your budget, go with the hotel, personally I would spend $20-40 more for a better hotel next time in town.

The people that worked at the hotel were awesome. Everyone on duty that I encountered was helpful & very friendly. Also, the location was great!!! I loved how the mall was right next door.

Good location. Very small rooms. Bathroom way too small. Very noisy. No hot water one morning. Great location but kind of a dumpy hotel.

The best thing about the hotel is the location. The hotel is old so don't expect any of the comforts of a modern hotel. You can not control the tempeture and the hot water doesn't last long.

This was my first stay at the Pickwick and I was not sure what to expect. wanted a hotel close to the Moscone Center and this was only two blocks away. It turns out that the hotel was in very good repair even though it is older. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and eager to help. The neighborhood was not […] too bad but it was right on the edge of a questionalbel area. there were some nice restaurants in the vacinity and it was just a short walk to the Powel BART station. Overall, I was very pleased. I would definitely stay there again and heartily recommend it for those not wanting to pay the exhoprbitant rates at the other hotels in the area. Les mer

I spent a Sat night there. This is NOT a boutique hotel by any means. Paint is peeling everywhere, the rooms are incredibly tiny. I could not sleep at night the noise from surrounding rooms kept waking me up. I could hear the conversations in other rooms as if they were in my room. Unfortunately, I left a small picnic bag in the refrigerator in the room, and it was not returned to lost and found. This does not bode well for the staff there.

The bathroom window couldnt shut properly and was cracked, which was a bit of a problem since the city has quite a bit of street noise in the morning. The furniture was okay - the bed was not the best though.

The Pickwick in SF is very well situated to the convention center and shopping. The hotel in general could use a face lift and some added amenities. The television/cable was minimal and there was no alarm clock (or any reference for time) in the room at all. The room was clean and comfortable, but fairly small. You get what you pay for at the Pickwick - and I don't mean that in a bad way. The hotel is dated, a little musty, but what it lacks in modernity it makes up for in location and free wifi. The large hotel chains with locations in the area will charge upwards of $20 for wifi, so if you think of it like baggage fees on an airline, staying at the Pickwick […] is like flying with Southwest. Overall the hotel was good.

A group of us were attending the Fancy Food Show at the Moscone Center on Jan. 15, 2012 and booked in at the Pickwick Hotel. We chose it because it's location - only a block or two to the Convention Center - and it's reasonable price. The staff at the front desk were pleasant and efficient, and we appreciated them giving us rooms next door to each other. […] The rooms were clean and comfortable ... everything we really needed. My only complaint is about the parking. We arrived at 11:30 am. on Sat. and left at 4:30 on Sunday. We knew the parking was separate - $32 - was the stated charge. In addition to the $32 we were expecting, we were also charged $9 for arriving early and $18 for staying late. That totals $59 for parking 29 hours. We should have looked for alternatives! Les mer

The Pickwick is in a perfect location to enjoy downtown San Francisco ... within easy walking distance of Union Square, Metreon, MoMA, Mission area shops. The hotel staff were always friendly and helpful, and the beds were decent. The room was surprisingly quiet considering that we were on the "noisy" side, 5th St. The room was very compact for a deluxe […] room and the walls and woodwork were a bit dinged up. 5th St has its share of street people, just saying. The hotel is very cute and well-maintained. The area is very close to Union Square and all the shopping around that area. Parking is very expensive ($32/day) but includes in-and-out privileges. Trying to find other parking is difficult.

The hotel's location is an excellent position right near union square. The BART station is a block away which is very convenient for the airport. Multiple bus and metro lines are located close by. The end of two cable car stops is a couple of blocks away. The hotel itself was satisfactory. The decor and furniture was a bit dated. The Pickwick was in a perfect location in San Fran and the bed was comfy. However, there was no ESPN on TV. There were no extra outlets. I had to unplug lights and coffee makers to use some. Also, there were was what appeared to be ashes/dust coming out of the bathroom vent which nested on the bathtub which I had to clean before bathing.

The location is great, close to Mission and Market street, and union square. However, if you have a car, it is inpossible to find parking outside that is free and the parking in the park area under the hotel is per day is very very expensife and in the near by parking on mission street I paid quite a high sum for only half an hour. so I suggest this […] hotel only to those travelling without car. Because the shuttle from/to the airport per person is 25% cheaper if you take the company that they use for shuttle transfers and that is quite convenient. Les mer

In all fairness, they are redecorating the rooms. I guess we got a good deal cause our room was quite dated. The bathroom had been redone, thank goodness. The rooms have great potential, so I hope they get it done right. Location was great,but downtown is quite dirty. Transit is pretty good and got us to all the interesting places.

This is the second time I stayed here, for a week. It's clean, well run, convenient location close to public transportation like BART. Not Deluxe, I didn't expect it to be, But rooms are large enough, with large screen TV. Plenty of restaurant choices within 2 blocks.

I booked this hotel with great hesitation, but couldn't pass up the price or location. I was pleasantly surprised with all aspects of this hotel, expect the parking attendant. The staff were all very nice and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable. The view wasn't great, but I believe the buildings within our view helped to silence the street […] noise. The only thing that we were unhappy with was the lack of knowledge/friendliness/helpfulness from the parking attendant, I wouldn't want him representing my company if I were the Pickwick! If you are looking for a hotel that is clean, comfortable, and within walking distance to everything you could possibly need in Union Square then this is a great place! Do not stay here if you are looking for an upscale hotel with a bellhop and food/bar service. All in all, we had a great stay and will definitely come back in the future. Les mer

This is the first non-four-star hotel I've stayed at in SF and I was pleasantly surprised. It had an almost old-world charm to it. Not perfect. But fine if you just want to enjoy downtown SF. And you can't beat the price.

My girlfriend and I just came home after our annual trip for Christmas. I booked Pickwick for the first time we always stay near Union Square. The location is very convenient and close to shopping. I had a concern after reading some reviews and called and talked to management. John was awesome and took care of us like a 5 star. The front desk staff […] was very friendly and helpful. I loved the restaurant attached the lunch was spectacular. The only thing I would request is that the bulbs on the lamps are to low for reading. I understand they are keeping the character. I still needed one of the lamps with more light. Thats it and minimal. I would definitely return. Thanks you Pickwick Staff. Les mer

The location of the hotel couldn't be better for the price. Right near shopping, dining, drinking and an easy one block walk to the muni to get around the city. The rooms were comfortable. You can tell it is an older building but if you are coming to SF to enjoy the city and not the modern nature of your hotel room this is a perfect place to stay. A "once-was-a-luxury-hotel" that is a good buy. Excellent location for down town. If you don't need room service and a nice lobby, this is a good choice. Free wi-fi was a main reason for me to choose to stay there instead of the more expensive hotels nearby.

We chose the Pickwick because we were looking for a hotel within walking distance of the Moscone Center that had free wireless internet access and an in-room microwave and refrigerator. The Pickwick advertised all three and worked out well for us, although the room did not have a microwave and the internet access was on the flaky side. The hotel is […] only two blocks from the convention center, but we were hounded by panhandlers almost every step of the way, and witnessed fights a couple of times. Bus line is right outside. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facilities, while in need of some paint and refinishing, are super clean. We stayed in a room with one king-size bed and didn't find it cramped, although electrical outlets are scare. The decor was nice and the bed comfortable. The "boarding pass kiosk" by the front desk was frustrating--it's a touch-screen computer with a session time-out counter, but the screen needs to be recalibrated (I kept getting kicked back to the main screen) and there's an annoying info box that pops up intermittently. We did not succeed in getting boarding passes. The restaurant next door is no longer the Italian "Little Joe's" but is a very good kebab place called Soma. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Pickwick and would recommend it. Les mer
