Disney's BoardWalk Inn - Lake Buena Vista

I booked this room for my parents for a Christmas present. They loved the room and the area to walk around. There is a view of 2 other resorts across the water, and 2 more to the left. Lots of shopping, restaurants, treats, bikes to rent, performers, and a secret back entrance to Epcot is right there. My husband and I visit Disney at least twice a year. We've stayed at many Disney resorts, but when we stayed at the Boardwalk for the first time we knew we would never stay at any other hotel. Overall, pleasant experience. Friendly staff. Above average for cleanliness. I have stayed at other luxury hotels in around the country. So I would expect more up keep of the room and attention to detail for a 4 star luxury hotel. You really pay for the location. If I could, I would rate this hotel 3.75.

It is a breat hotel for work and pleasure. Very comfortable rooms, excellent staff, and fantastic restaurants (the flying fish) nearby. It is a five minute walk from Epcot and short boat journey to Disney's Hollywood Studios. The drawbacks are few but worth mentioning. The hotel has a pool that would be good for kids to play in but the pool across the […] lake at the Yacht Club puts the Boardwalk pool to shame. That is not a negative comment on the Boardwalk pool as much as it is a positive comment on the Yacht Club pool. It is staggeringly impressive with sandy bottoms, rocky enclosures, tides and a slide. The other drawback to the Boardwalk is its spa. The sauna and steam room were good, they did the job, but they were not the most elegant facilities that I have seen. Beautiful facility. Loved Kouzinnas restaurant. Breathtaking at night with illuminated boardwalk. Fun activities day and night. Nightime performers were a delight and very amiable to the crowd esp the kids. Wish the bakery was open- closed for renovations. Both the extra pillows (very kind of you without even asking for extra) and bedding were a dream to sleep on each night. Excellent location; you can walk to 2 parks in less than 15 minutes. Having Boardwalk area right outside was very nice. Rooms very spacious and well-appointed. Self-parking is a bit inconvenient. Otherwise no problems at all.

Hotel was in perfect location walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood studios. Very clean facility. The bathroom could have used a little bit of an update , with cracked caulk.

I stayed in one of the Garden Suites which was basically a 2 story 1 bedroom guest cottage, this suite was on par with a vegas suite. The suite included Club Level Status which included access to the Inn Keeper's Club and services. The suite was clean and well maintained and the staff was top notch. The hotel was a easy walk to Epcot and a very long […] walk to Hollywood Studios. Both parks could be reached by the ferry outside of the hotel lobby but the ferry makes stops at the Yatch Club Hotel and Swan and Dolphin Hotels. The ferry trip can be shorten by walking to and from the hotel to the Swan and Dolphin ferry dock. The Disney Boardwalk Inn was a very enjoyable stay. Les mer

This is a great Disney resort. It offers easy access to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The rooms are attractive and comfortable and offer a balcony, small refrigerator, and sinks outside the bathroom. The Boardwalk offers a lot of entertainment options beyond the Parks. Lots to offer for all age groups and everything close enough that the older kids could safely venture out to the pool, Boardwalk, arcade, etc. Pool for kids and families plus a quiet pool for adults. Excellent disney hotel, (as are all disney hotels I have stayed in), customer service is second to none. However prefered Disneys Beach Club (next door), the pool is much better, Boardwalk pool is smallish, wouldnt want to be here peak season. Also prefer Animal Kingdon lodge better atmosphere (theme-ing is excellent), but location not as good.

We are not newbies with Disney and have stayed at several hotels, mainly for the Magic hours which have become fewer and far between than in previous years. So, we had high hopes for this hotel, considered a Disney "deluxe", but was a bit disappointed in the results. Not getting the reviews previously read about great staff, seemed sort of disinterested […] in their jobs at the hotel, better staff on the Boardwalk. Hallways and main areas were well maintained but maid service got worse as we progressed further into the week. We did not receive maid service the last couple of days, with the front desk telling us we must have had the privacy note on the door when called to ask about our service. Really? Would we really choose have to hunt down housekeeping nightly for soap, tissues, conditioner and towels on our vacation? When we called the front desk we were always assured that someone would be right there to bring the stuff, but mostly disappointed. In a deluxe resort, I do not expect to have to beg for daily necessities. Les mer

It was fun feeling like a kid again. Excellent food and very close walk to Epcot. We loved the sounds and night view on the boardwalk. The only problem with a water view room with a balcony was the sun was shining brightly all day, so it was way too hot to enjoy the balcony. I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. Room was great when we arrived. However, there was a leaky pipe in the room next door. I reported the leak in our room the first morning. According to staff an engineer went into the room next door and put a bucket under the leak. By the time we got home at night it was 20 times as large. I reported it again. The engineers came in again and found the […] bucket, but the leak had gotten worse and the ceiling had collapsed next door such that the bucket was no longer "catching" the leak. They explained the hotel was full and offered to send in someone to vacuum up the water. A very nice man tried to get up the water, but said the machine he needed was "in the shop". So I called the front desk and asked for bath mats, but received towels which I put down. When we got up in the morning our shoes were floating. We went to breakfast and when we returned the housekeeping supervisor, who was very nice, wanted to know why we did not report this! . He also wanted us to move. We gratefully moved to a new room nearer to the elevator, so it was a much better room as far as we were concerned! Disney also gave us that one night free of charge! Everyone was nice and in hindsight perhaps I should have had more stress in my voice or asked to speak to a supervisor. However, I love Disney and did not want to be a problem guest. I was surprised that this was not brought to someone's attention higher up that could have dealt with the problem more effectively to save both rooms from so much damage. Les mer

Overall our stay was great and the room was very nice however we booked a King room and was told at check-in that we had a king room but once we got to the room it was not. We went back down to the front desk and asked if we could move our room, we were asked if we had booked this package through Disney and when we told them no we were told that there […] were no other rooms available. Our room was nice but it was at the furthest point away from everything and our balcony over looked the trash and was by the back door were all the trucks delivered at very early times in the morning. In running into other guest's that were down on the same end of the hotel it seemed that most had not booked directly with Disney. I would stay at this property again but would not book another Disney property without booking directly through Disney. Les mer

Best place to stay in the whole of Disney World!!! We've been coming since 1978 ( when there was only the Magic Kingdom). 23 trips to Disney World & have stayed @ most of the (deluxe) resorts... Loved the Beach Resort when the kids were younger. Have stayed @ the Boardwalk the last 6/7 times. It is the BEST-- Quiet, walk to Epcot & Hollywood Studios […] if you don't want to take the boat ( which is very convenient). This trip was just myself & my husband. We had a most relaxing & FUN trip..Can't wait to return to Disney World & the Boardwalk. Take my advice- try it--you will be back!!!! Les mer

This is our second time using Disney's resort hotel. From the first day, it was red carpet all the way. The staff is all courteous and friendly. The Boardwalk location is a walking distance to EPCOT. As usual, the ride to and from the air port was included and excellent drivers in every way. The overall theme was a recreation of 40s or 50s Atlantic […] City's Boardwalk, NJ. We are from NJ and this one is far better and clean and safer than the actual NJ one. The hotel itself has a great ambiance and the nearby restaurant was a great one served by the menu made by Cat Cora. The entire hotel faces the lake view but you have to pay more to have the view of the lake. The room clean and well taken cared of although the first smell was heavy air freshener. It disappeared by the second day. Everything except foods in Disney is far from healthy and cheap. They are always overpriced greasy traditional American food. Any one who visited Disney will agree with me. One thing Disney will have to change is toward the health conscious menu to survive eventually, but this review is supposed to be about the hotel. Overall, as always, it was a great hotel that I can recommend to anyone. Les mer

The only thing wrong was I had requested a water view and it was supposed to be in the Villa's. The view was supposed to be able to see the Epcot fireworks. When we got to the hotel. They said there was no such request and they did the best they could but no view was visible. Plus we were not on the water. They told us that Villa's were only for vacation […] share holders. The Boardwalk is a conveniently located hotel in the most quaint area of Disney. Surrounding property of the Beach and Yacht club along the water and back entrance to Epcot. This was our 1st time to Disneyworld, choose the Boardwalk not really knowing what to expect. We fell in love with the Resort, everything . Location was perfect for going to all the theme parks, hotel was fantastic, alot of free unexpected surprises like, breakfasts, snacks, cocktail hour and more. This hotel was great! We spent most of our time at Epcot and it was so easy to get there and enjoy it without the transportation waits. Great leisure feel around the boardwalk area. Only negative is the lack of full over the counter service like Saratoga Springs Resort. There are plenty of places to get quick continental breakfast and premade lunches […] but no place to get freshly made over the counter meals. I've stayed at several Disney hotels (including GF) and this is the best -- it's not as "formal" as the GF, but the location is great and the rooms are fantastic. You have the Boardwalk right out your door so you can get drunk and stumble back to your room without a problem, and then wake up from your stupor and grab breakfast in the same spot! Arrived at the hotel. Speedy check in. Room on the 4th floor. Room beautiful, clean, small balcony, king size bed, lots of pillows (only one was feather). Large and very clean room and bathroom. Small love-seat and desk. Refridgerator. Location near main elevator, across from ice dispenser room, and right above the self service laundry room located […] on the 3rd floor. Extremely quiet, heard no other guests or sounds from hall or other rooms. Hotel lobby and public areas clean, fresh, and beautiful. Only complaint was there were no courtesy wheelchairs at the Disney bus stop located at the bottom of the walkway. Bit difficult for anyone with a disability to climb the pathway back up to the lobby. Two pools but only used the smaller quiet pool and jacuzzi. Outside area very clean, towels handy, and pool heated nicely. Open until midnight, which was nice for late evening swim. Throughly enjoyed our 5 night stay and would stay again, without hesitation. Love this resort, we had two reservations one at Animal Kingdom and one here, I almost changed the reservation from the Boardwalk inn to two days at animal kingdom, thank God I didn't , Animal Kingdom, and boardwalk Inn was amazing, every thing super clean, and in great conditions, comfortable rooms, staff members courteous, food fantastic, cheerful […] ambiance, nice pools, nice stroll, a must stay, even if you don't go to the parks, just staying at the hotel and going tot he pool and enjoying the attractions is worth the price. Our visit to the Boardwalk Inn was the first time we had tried this Hotel. We have stayed at almost all of the Moderate and Deluxe Hotels except this one. The Boardwalk inn is charming and is super close to Epcot (walk or boat) and Hollywood studios (boat). The buses take you everywhere else. The boardwalk itself has all sorts of things to do in downtime (great food, magic, games, dancing, walk to other hotels, etc).

My family and I were extremely impressed with this hotel. Would recommend it to anyone. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the surrounding area on the Boardwalk and liked the fact that it was within walking distance of Epcot.
