Quality Suites Universal South - Orlando

Stay was nice, but I really missed not having an ice maker on the premise.

Best thing I can say about this hotel is that it was relatively inexpensive. Otherwise, it is a run-down and poorly manged location. I rcommedn that you look elsewhere...

Staff weren't rude, but wouldn't lift a finger to help when our reservation didn't show up in their system. Hot water was as warm as iced tea. Hotel was just off the beaten path, so traffic was always light and room was spacious.

Cheap, but the free breakfast was too much of a mob scene to worth trying.

The only nice thing about this hotel was the pool area. The room and bathroom were broken and cracked. The tub didn't have a drain cover, just a big nasty hole. The tile and carpet floors were so dirty that we kept our shoes on the whole time except for me using all the spare towels as a rug in the bathroom. Hotel said they would run shuttles back and forth to convention center. Shuttle only ran one time per day. Additionally it was late several days and once it never even showed up and I was stranded at center. They claim it is only one mile away but that is only if you cross interstate 4 and actual drive is 4 or 5 miles. Great price for being right in the middle of all the excitement. Would stay here again.

The room seemed very clean and well kept. However, within 5 minutes of our arrival, we killed a roach on the wall. Luckily we hadn't yet opened up our suitcases. I called the front desk and they had my husband go down to the front desk to get new keys for a new room. We know that Florida has a lot of bugs so we tried to keep an open mind. The second […] room we got was dirty, worn down, torn carpet, had broken floor tiles in the bathroom and black hairs in the shower and on the floor. This place had comfortable beds, but that's about it. The floor was so uneven underneath the carpet and felt like the floor was going to cave in. The breakfast left a LOT to be desired, even for a continental. It's right off of I4 and very noisy. Definitely not worth the money.

I chose this hotel partly due to the proximity of the Orange County convention center for a convention I was attending. I did not have a car but knew that they offered a shuttle to and from the convention center. Unfortunately, this shuttle only ran once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The location of the hotel is very poor if you do not have […] a car, as there are no amenities within walking distance. I did get dinner delivered from a carryout, but I would not plan to stay here again. That being said, the property is worn, though clean, and the hotel staff were extremely cordial. Les mer

Happy with the hotel. No silly resort fees to pay. Breakfast a bit of a scramble but adequate. Wi-fi did not work, which would have been a problem if I was staying more than a couple of days. Would stay again.

It was a cheap and cheerful hotel that suited my needs on a budget. Very accomodatingand attentive staff. Close to good restaraunts and shopping. Didn't enjoy the breacjfast but there was a fridge and coffe/tea maker in the room. Whole Foods is down the street.

This property has a very strict role in early check out or cancellation. Basically, if you book the hotel, you will pay whatever you paid no matter you stay or not.

Near all the popular parks in Orlando area. Walmart close by for last minute shopping. They stock Disney products fully. Ice machine was out so we had hunt round hotel for that. Nice pool area big with 2 hot tubs. If u bring children the play area is pathetic it's just one one slide laid in dirt. Pretty sad. the first night we spent it in there, the room directly above us was taken over by a bunch of teens that were stomping all over the room as well as making noise in the hall way. maybe it was pure coinsidence, but what i found worse was the the walls are so thin, that you were able to hear, everything that was happening as well as all the stomping & […] running around. Breakfast was the worse i've ever seen handed out by a hotel. the eggs were the worse, they tasted like fake rubbery eggs. they didn't have a good selection of food to say the least. if i was going to serve breakfast that contained any of that i wouldn't of even bothered. the only upside that i saw to the whole stay was that the hotel did provide shuttle service to the parks, other than that i can honestly say i'm never staying there again. Good location but need a car.

This hotel is convenient to a lot of attractions and the Orange County Convention Center. All of these require a car since none of them are within walking distance. I was attending a conference at the Convention center and it was a little inconvenient but well worth the savings. The hotel has a free breakfast but it isn’t very good.

Hotel is clean and the pool is nice. Away from crazy International Drive. Not the nicest sheets and blankets, but will do for a quick stay in Orlando.

this is one f the best inexpensive hotels I've ever stayed! I didn't need Disneyworld but would suggest it to anyone going there. My only complaint would be that I did not have bath towels in my bathroom, didn't realize til too late, obviously an oversite by the maid. We had a very nice time, we stayed for 2 nights and visited SeaWorld. The hotel is older,but maintained and very clean. The beds were comfortable as were the pillows. The bathroom was clean and the towels were white and soft. The desk clerk was very helpful in directing us to restaurants. We would stay here again.

i contated the desk clerk regarding early check out. and what the polocies were. My daughter was ill and wanted to leave early. The clerk was rude to me, i asked for the manager but there was no manager on duty. I left a voice mail and never got a return call. when my daughter came back to the hotel, they locked her out of her room so she had to go […] to the desk clerk. the clerk then began to confront my daughter and complain about my call to her. Based on the pictures, and stays at other Quality Hotels, I did not expect to find the hair dryer falling off the wall, the laminate peeling off the bathroom counter, and the door lock loosely attached to the door. The breakfast was pretty good, but the table were crowded together and impossible to seat the number of people they had at the motel. The […] pool was freezing cold and the spa was boiling hot. When we went down to the pool area in the evening, the music was playing so loud we had to yell to each other. I asked the gentlemen at the bar to turn the music down, but did not notice any change in volume (there was maybe one other person in the area at the time). Old hotel with worn out carpeting, furniture and bath. Shower curtaing rod was falling down and the curtaing draged on the tub. Noisy fridge and very small pillows. Won't go there again.

When we first pulled up we were impressed but then we got in our room it was bad. Found dead bugs on the ground one in the fridge, and I woke up in the middle of night to find one crawling across my daughters pillow. Absolutely disgusting. Never going there again.

Beds were very comfy, plenty of towels in the bathroom. Fridge and microwave in the room were very convenient. Breakfast was fair. The biggest problem was the three roaches in the bathroom that I killed. ARGH!

Hotel was not what I got sold.....no jetted tub...no pool view....not with in walking distence to the convention center, unless you want to get killed walking across I-4.....

Excellent hotel. Its shuttle service to parks saves you a bunch of money and you can always buy the whole day bus pass and you have a bus stop in front of the hotel

Wasn't happy with the room, beds feel likw a board, air conditioner had cock roaches in the control panel, and wires hanging out the bottom. At night it sounded like something was crawling in the walls. The hot tub would burn the hairs off of ya. Won't use them again. Room 266 don't use

On the website, it says that the hotel is 0.37 miles from the Orange County Convention Center. It is very deceptive- since there is I-4 in between the Convention Center and the hotel. Actual distance is about 5 miles- one has to take a taxi which costs at least $15 each way. When I asked the hotel mangement- they simply blame Hotels.com or other travel […] services for the misinformation, and offered no apologies for the misinformation. The hotel is really a dump. Breakfast is a joke, and the shuttle service to convention center is offered only once in the morning 8AM and one trip back at 5PM. Rest of the times- you are on your own. For me, it was a big mistake to rent this hotel. Les mer

this place was a total dump....it needs a makeover in a big way! It was also a $12 cab ride from any meeting or dining place--the shuttle service is free but very limited. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and helpful---the only saving grace of this trash pit.

The price is right at the Quality Suites Universal South but that is it. Poor room maintenance. I am glad I was there only on business and in the room very little. In particular, the air conditioning made horrible noise and the maintenance staff did not fix it nor did I get moved to another room.

Lobby really hot no a/c. Pool was really cold.over all good hotel but not great.

the only problem with this hotel if you are staying for business at the convention center, is that you have to pay $16 each way for a cab ride. It is literally directly across the street from the convention center and the Peabody Hotel, however the "street" is I4 and you cant walk across it. They do have a shuttle as advertised but it only leaves once […] a day and returns once a day at 8 am and 5 pm. Not good if you are working a booth and have to be there early or stay late. Les mer

I booked this hotle becuase on ther map it looked like it was a short walking distance to the Orange County Convention Center. It is not and their Shuttle bus service was ver un=reliable. Don't stay here if you are in Orlando for a Convention Center function. Jim K

I reserved a room here because I thought I was getting a "suite," e.g., two rooms. There was nothing about my room that resembled any of the benefits of a "suite." Unlike a typical hotel room with two double beds, this room had one bed and one foldout couch, separated by a one- or two-foot divider sticking out of the back wall. It was pretty cramped […] for four people, and the sofa bed was not comfortable. I also felt a bit misled by the travel desk, which sold tickets to Disney World. I was strongly warned against buying tickets at a Disney World park because there would be lines of "up to an hour." Reluctantly, I paid the premium for buying them from the travel desk. I visited two Disney World parks, and the lines for tickets were practically nonexistent. Les mer
