Somewhat fresh room, with a cool ceiling. Bathroom was old, worn and not 100% clean. Waterboiler for tea/coffe was contianing water fram previous guest. Based of this night rate it is not good value for money.

Hetellet ligger meget sentralt til en veldig hyggelig pris. Servicen er meget vennlig og imøtekommende, og rommet var rolig og stille mot en bakgård. Bare rengjøringen av rommet var litt under pari - det gikk nok litt for raskt med rengjøring av badet. Man bør også være obs på at det finnes mange tv-program, men ingen norsk, ikke engang svensk eller […] tysk. Men med internett på tv kan en i alle fall oppdatere seg på nettsidene selv om det ikke akkurat går raskt. Men - når alt er vel blir små problemer store. Alt i alt ville jeg ikke nøl med å booke hotellet igjen eller anbefale det til andre. Les mer

Generelt: 10-15min gange til de mest sentrale delene av sentrum. Om man synes det er greit anbefales hotellet for alle som skal besøke Helsinki. Tuska: Plassert mellom nattklubben Heavy Corner og metall-uteplassen Barbakari og et kvartal unna T-bane som tar en rett til Suvilahti så er dette hotellet GENIALT for alle metallheads som skal til Tuska- […] festivalen. Hotel Helka is a good mid-price hotel. The feel is very scandinavian, room was nice although faily small. The staff was ery helpful and it was fairly close to the city centre (which I count being the Swedish Theatre although others may disagree.)

Hei, Har vært tre netter og fire dager i Helsinki og Finland for første gang. Må si meg imponert og tilfreds. Byen har en behagelig atmosfære, til å være stor-by. Yrende liv, med live-musikk flere av dagene, uten at det ble stressende eller masete å være ute. Rent i gatene, hjelpsomme og serviceinnstilt betjenting, over alt, enten på restaurant, hotell […] eller kjøpesenter. Hotellet vi bodde på - Hotell Helka, og oppholdet på dette hotellet, er jeg meget fornøyd med! Fine rom, inkludert bad. Passelig liggekomfort og gratis internett og tv-tilgang. God service, hyggelig betjening og rent. Frokostbuffeten var over all forventning. Godt og variabelt utvalg (inkludert glutenfritt og melkefritt). Behagelig og rolig atmosfære, ingen støy, verken fra trafikk eller forstyrrelser fra andre gjester. Beliggenheten, helt perfekt! Kort vei til sentrumsgatene (kun to-tre minutters spasertur) og lett tilgang kollektivt; buss, båt, tog, trikk. Det eneste negative, var at det var en tendens til røyk-lukt, mulig via vifte-/aircondition anlegg (selv på ikke-røyke-rom). Kan være litt slitsomt, især for en med astma. I really liked my room in Helka. It was so well designed. The kettle was a big plus but there were no tea bags or cups. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful. It is also near the train station which is very handy for the airport as the bus leaves from there.

generally very good. close to a Temppeliaukion Kirkko (stone church), Kiasma art gallery, and Kampin Kappeli (chapel of silence). A little way from the main city centre restaurants and bars, but very close to a Metro stop. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable (if a little dated in terms of décor). I liked the interiors of the hotel which were designed with Scandinavian style. The room was quite small but suitable for one night stay. The only thing I didn't like was the bed, it was too soft and the springs squeaked. The breakfast was good and the breakfast room was cozy.

The room was small but well equipped with an Internet TV and lots of places to plug things in to charge up. The bed was comfortable but there is only one pillow and one towel provided which was not ideal as guests are expected to take own towel from room to sauna.

We booked this hotel due to the really good price and the quick walk to the train station, which is also where the airport bus leaves. We had an early flight out on our last day and the bus was extremely convenient. The bus and hotel were actually the two most affordable things in Helsinki, an otherwise very expensive place. We loved the hotel location. […] It's very walkable to most anywhere in the central city: museums, sights, bars, restaurants, waterfront, and transit. It's located right on a great running and biking path, and they have four rental bikes in the lobby. The only slightly weird thing was that it was our honeymoon, and the double was actually two twin beds pushed together! But it was okay. We visited during design week and thought it was cute that the hotel was using the same bedside lamps that had won an award in the design museum. Overall we loved our stay. Les mer

I very much enjoyed my stay at Helka. The location was great and staff and the service were very good. The room was very comfortable and in spite of the fact that I had a single room, they gave me a double bed which was very comfortable. The breakfast was quite adequate given the fact that it was free and not many hotels with this price range have included […] breakfast. Conveniently located (not far from the center of Helsinki), this hotel is a real bargain! Rooms are clean & comfortable, hotel staff is polite & friendly, and room rates are more than affordable. Small tip: hotel has its own closed parking (EUR 10 per day) - just ask receptionist about it.

The room was small but nicely decorated with adequate en suite shower room. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. There was no view. Comfortable seating was in the lounge downstairs. The hotel is quiet and very conveniently placed for down town Helsinki. The fireside lounge / jacuzzi complex was not open but could be booked for an extra fee […] of 25 euros. Perfect location if you are attending a conference at Aalto University or the Hanken School of Economics. Within walking distance of the center of Helsinki and the train station to catch the Finnair bus to the airport (only 6.20 Euro!). I stayed at the beginning and end of a trip, and had two very different rooms: one large and well-designed and the […] other small and cramped. Both were clean and relatively quiet. This hotel was very reasonably-priced for central Helsinki. Only 5-10 minute walk from the central train station. The stench in the room was so bad that I had to get up in the middle of the night to check if there was a dead body under the bed, twice. How the hotel can let out a room in that condition is beyond comprehension. The whole place feels like an excellent place for a student party - cramped rooms, quite run down everywhere, marginally interested, un-groomed […] staff on a schoolbreak. Although conveniently located it is on the corner of major town centre throughfares and thus not particularly inspiring. The only good thing - they have very convenient beds. On a list of the most likely top 10 hotels I would return to in Helsinki - I would rate it at about 427.....i.e. never! Les mer

Great hotel with all amenities. Wonderful breakfast buffet and of course the Sauna. Within walking distance to the Railway & bus terminal, the Kampi shopping center, Sokos & Stockmann and just up the street the Temple Church. On sight parking available very resonable rates.

It was my first stay at Hotel Helka and it was pretty much as I expected based on reviews and feedback from friends. I only have two minow complaints: - the shower holder did not match the shower head, so in practise it was a hand-held shower, not very convenient when trying to wash your hair - the hotel was due to close for Christmas at 12 noon on […] 23 Dec, in practise it started to close down already earlier with renovation works etc. This also meant a reduced breakfast on the 23rd, with mainly high carb options available. But other than these two minor things everything was good and I've recommended Helka to other people. Les mer

Stayed here a few times. Single rooms are small but adequate. Helpful staff...The usual sauna faciliies for Suomi. Handy for bus station and major shopping / cinemas....have normally nice Finnish ale on tap too. Helpful staff and breakfast is plentiful sometimes cramped. Would recommend this hotel no worries....little bit remote on those -30c mornings […] but overall nice wee hotel and recommended too if you want bring the Wife or Partner....you won't get the cold shoulder treatment for booking this one!...although it's not the Sheraton ok! :-) Les mer

My regular place in Helsinki is Torni hotel, but this time I was late with my booking, and need to find mother place with convenient downtown location. Helka appeared much better, than I expected. My single room was small but I expected that. Overall a good experience. I left my hat in the lobby at check in and the front desk staff tracked me down to return it. I'd definitely stay here again.
