Hotel Gambrinus sto til forventningene til et 4 * hotell. Vi fikk veldig god service og fant frem til severdighetene etter kart og anvisninger fra hotellet. Ok frokost. Et lite minus at det bare var betalTV på rommet.

Hotellet var koselig,sentralt beliggende .Rommet var rent og pent,men lite.Jeg savner to gode stoler på dobbeltrom.Badet var ok,men litt trangt.Det kunne ha vært noen hyller der til å sette fra seg toalettsaker på.Personalet var hyggelig og frokosten var god!

Hyggelig og bra hotell med gå-avstand til sentrum og severdigheter, og godt busstilbud til det meste rett utenfor hotellet for de som ønsker det.

Hotell Gambinus , Via Piave, er et hotell vi kan trygt anbefale, hvis du ikke forlanger" luksus". Her er det stille, meget rent (skift av håndklær og sengetøy hver dag) og hyggelig. Kort avstand til Via XX Septembre med gode bussforbindelser og små hyggelige kafeer/restauranter. Betjeningen er meget hyggelige, hjelpsomme og engelsk talende. Området […] er "stille" og hvor du kan ferdes trygt. Rett over gaten for hotellet får du kjøpt bussbilletter og flerdagerskort samt snacs og drikke. Vi vil gjerne bo der neste gang vi skal til Roma. Hotellet var ikke mer enn greit for oss,belligenheten var helt ok i fohold til byens fasiliteter.var litt knotete å komme til hotell rommet da rommet lå litt utenfor hotellet i en nabo bygård. frokosten på Hotellet var veldig bra etter min mening.

My experience with Hotel Gambrinus was very good. The room and hotel in general was clean, the breakfast was good, the employees were friendly and spoke english well. They were also service minded and helpful with reservations and recommendation for places to eat etc. The price was a discount price and the room was very small, and smaller than many […] of the other rooms. I don't know if the room was small due to the discount or not, but I didn't go to Rome to stay at the hotel, so the size was not a problem. Over all a very good hotel. Les mer

Beliggenheten var grei, det er enkelt å ta buss både bort til sentrum og til stasjonen (Termini). Vi synes det var for langt å gå når vi skulle til sentrum, vi gikk en gang og det tok 30 minutter. Rommet var ok, litt dårlig planløsning, men god plass. Badet var rent og helt ok, men dusjen var ekstremt liten. Nesten ikke plass til å vaske seg der. Vi […] hadde ikke fått badehåndklær når vi kom. Hotellet har ingen vanlig trapp og man må bruke den utrolig lille og trege heisen. Det er ikke plass til mer enn 3 personer og den går utrolig sakte. Den virket klaustrofobisk og gynget når vi gikk inn. Det virker som om personalet også bruker heisen med vaskevogner osv. Det finnes nødtrapper med tanke på brann da. Vaskepersonalet var veldig ivrige og åpnet døren vår to ganger på morgenen avreisedagen for å se om vi hadde gått. Litt ubehagelig når vi ikke hadde stått opp enda... Vi valgte å ikke betale 8 euro per person for frokost. Du får god frokost ca 50 meter unna hotellet for under halvparten per pers. Internett kostet ekstra, men var billig og raskt. Det fungerte ikke på hotellrommet når vi var der, men nede i lobbyen er det lenestoler. Vi fikk god service og i resepsjonen var de veldig behjelpelige med å vise bussruter, severdigheter og restauranter. Alt i alt sitter vi igjen med at hotellet kanskje er litt i overkant dyrt i forhold til hva du får. Dersom du synes prisen er grei og ikke har noe i mot å ta buss (de kommer sjelden og er ofte overfyllt) så er hotellet et godt valg. God service er nok det som trekker opp. Les mer

Got this as a "mystery hotel" on expedia. For the area, the hotel was a great deal. Clean, tidy room, if on the small side, particularly for 2 people. Breakfast could be slightly better, but adequate and expresso was excellent.I was there on business but location should be reasonable for tourists too. Great hotel very near to the Termini station. Its approx a 10-min walk from the station. The staff was courteous and very helpful explaining the tourist spots. The room was amazing: approx 15-20 ft ceiling and all the walls covered in cloth with huge drapes. Very nice and romantic although the total size of the room was a little small. The stuff was wonderful but the hotel location was far from the city center and most of the attraction (20-30 minute walk for the closest attractions) the rooms were really small and breakfast was not that good.

The Hotel and room were great. Breakfast & internet is included which is always great. The room was fairly large and the bed was a king so my husband and I were pretty happy with the space. The only issue with the room was that they put us near this back alleyway where all the exhaust pipes and large renovations were occuring in the building next to […] the hotel...People aparments were very close by and you can hear them talking constantly as it is like a tunnel where everything echos. We were there in November this yr and Rome is generallly still warm a around 60's to 70's so we needed to open the windows so the room would not be too hot for sleeping. As soon as we open the window the smell was awful. All the heating and sewage and whatever else exhaust and such were just permeating directly in to our room. Made for a bit of an uncomfortable sleep also when the neighbors in the aparments or the men renovating came in and all the noises echoed through to our room. If it were cooler and the window was kept shut i would have had no problems with this hotel. The staff wa very friendly and helpful. Les mer

An Ok hotel with nothing special, but definitely NOT a four star, and not worth the rate. The overall appearance was outdated and not impressive. My room was small but I could live with it since I was by myself and it was in Europe. Also again, the King bed was the combo of two twins, so I had to use only one half of the area to avoid getting stuck […] in the middle. Wifi is very slow. It does not come with a full service business center with even a printer. I had a lot of trouble trying to get my reservation voucher for the vatican musei onto a piece of paper. Eventually I had to email my voucher to the guy at the front desk, who was so nice to print it out for me and delivered it to my room! The hotel is not particularly close to anything, not even a metro station. It was again Ok because Rome is not that huge, but still, I spent a lot time walking on the not so interesting streets everyday. In general, this was not a very impressive hotel, but all staff I met were very friendly and helpful. It is not conveniently situated, but on the other hand, is somewhat quite. So it is probably not the best choice for someone that has a tight schedule or big ambition. However, it might be ideal for those who want to escape from the huge crowd and enjoy a bit more peacefulness. I'll probably return if I can get a good rate since I have already been to most hot spots, which I believe constitutes no more than 20% of what the eternal city has to offer. Les mer

Really enjoyed this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful, location was easy walking to pretty much anything. Very convenient to the main train station if you are traveling elsewhere on your trip. very upset by this hotel. We were obliged to cancel a booking for a friend because it was almost impossible to enter his room when the suitcase was in , so much the roon and the bed were small.We were charged two nights and the manager booked immediately this room to another client in front of us.he refused to negociate and said it was the contract.We […] also cancelled a room booked for an australian friend, because we were ashamed to put our friend in such a poor room which would not deserve even two stars. I cannot imagine how they managed to get a 3 stars rating. the photos put on internet are misleading and show an entrance of the hotel with columns and scultures which do not exist,actually it is photo taken from the Trevi fountain, when the taxi droped us there i told him it was not the right place. Room clean with comfortable bed and nice bathroom and shower but air conditioning hopelessly inadequate for 35 degree summer temperature so avoid in hot weather .After a day sightseeing it would have been nice to come back to a cool room. very friendly staff who speak a good level of english. very helpful. room large of a good size and well furnished, very comfortable king-sized bed and large bathroom. Air con was a great benefit as it was 35 degrees in the sunshine during our stay.

The guy who took our bags upstairs told us very little and was irritable. He showed us where the phone was but told us little else. (The phone as if it's not 2012?) The lady (blond, black dress, smart) at the front desk was lovely and knowledgable. The guy the next night was rude and snobby. The only negative thing I can say is that the rooms are small. However they are clean, modern, and well maintained. The included breakfast was great. The staff are awesome. They recommended restaurants and things to see. They booked tours and transfers for us. Just ask and it's done. Thanks guys.

We booked the room through Expedia's unpublished rate offer. Because we paid so little, we were satisfied with our stay. However, had we paid the full amount, we would have been very disappointed. The front desk staff was not very friendly. The Expedia description was misleading. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. First of all it´s overpriced for that what they offer. The rooms are really very tiny, there are no existing services and empty minibar. We had reservations for a room with two twin beds. When we got there, they said they didn't have a room like that and gave us two very small rooms, each with a twin bed.

enjoyed our stay very much. staff very friendly and helpful. about 15mins walk to nearest metro which will get you to most points of interest. would recommend get shuttle bus from airport to city centre then metro to piazza del Repubblica then a taxi to the hotel. that good would go back again.

This was a great little hotel near most embassies in an upscale neighborhood of Rome. We found the hotel staff to be extremely patient and helpful with us on our first trip to Italy. The neighboring restaurants also offered helpful, friendly staff and great food choices that aren't right in the middle of all the tourist attractions, so we found the […] quality of the food to be a better than closer in to the center of the city. We had an adjoining room with our 10- and 12-year old and, although their room was tight and small, the bathroom was quite spacious. The rooms definitely accommodated our needs for sleep and showers, and we were fairly pleased with the breakfasts that were included with our rooms. The only negative for us, really, was that the elevator is older and so it's slow and there is no stair access as an alternative. We'd recommend it and likely stay again! Les mer

Perfect location. 15 mins walk from Termini. Staff spoke English well and were so helpful and provided us with a map with main attractions, bus routes and metro. We were recommended some lovely local restaurants with true italian cuisine for very good value. 6 girls went for a surprise for my mums 50th and it was the best city break!! I love Roma!!! After reading all the reviews on The Hotel Gambrinus it was just as we had expected. The room was clean, we had a superior room that was just big enough i wouldn't have wanted it to be much smaller. The hotel staff were very helpful. It was quite nicely central for restaurants and bars and about a 14 minute walk from the Termini. I thought that our hotel was really clean, well designed and pleasant, it is better in real life than on the website. Only 12 to 15 minutes to the centre and Trevi fountains, it is in a really good place and you are not paying the vast prices of other hotels that are just a little more central. We found the hotel to be in a excellent position to see Rome thoroughly, we quickly realised that we needed to purchase a map of the bus system in Rome as the Metro is very limited. We purchased a three day travel pass from the newsagent and had great fun hopping on and off the very regular buses. The staff were extremely helpful with all our questions […] especially "Fabio". Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.The only criticism we had was that after a long day sight seeing it would have been lovely to have been able to relax and have a drink in a comfy lounge type area how ever we would gladly return to this excellent value for money hotel. I stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The location is ok, it was about a 15 min walk to Spanish steps, but you can get a bus right outside the hotel and you about a 10 minute walk from the metro which can bring you to most of sights in Rome ( A metro/ bus pass for the day costs €4. Nice resturants […] around the hotel that the receptionist recommended and cheaper than city centre resturants. Breakfast was very good in the hotel but I would advice to go to get breakfast early as it can get very busy. Overall this was a very good hotel for the money I paid for it . Les mer
