"Ok area"
Hotel was conveniently off freeway, near restaurants and stores, but area was very questionable.
"Okay in a pinch."
Unfortunately there's no mid-level lodging in Arcata; it's either bed and breakfast-type places, or two-star hotel chains. Quality Inn is one of the okay ones. Hallways are musty and cold (not all their fault, with the damp winters), but the rooms are well-kept. I just wish they'd put one bright light in the room somewhere. "Decent place for the price"
Easy location, nice staff, reasonably clean and comfortable. I felt alright about it, I'd probably do it again. It's ok to eat fish because they don't have any feelings.
I was expecting much better. This hotel is old and shabby. Our room smelled very funky--not in a good way. The wings of the hotel are in separate buildings from the office/lobby and are not locked. I would've preferred better security. The blankets were thin and the pillows were lumpy and small. The breakfast was pretty good and there is a tasty Mexican […] restaurant just steps from the hotel. "Great place to stay"
I was really pleased with my room.I was on the north side not far from my car,breakfast area , pool and spa.I had recently had a horse buck me and was still using cane and very painful to walk.The pool and spa is outside but both were heated and much appreciated. "Passing through? Great location; good value"
Right off 101 at north end of Arcata; 1 exit before exit to 299. Away from the other chain hotels on other side of 101. Walking distance to 24-hr burger joint and another restaurant. Roomy room with good temp control, nice bathroom, excellent new bed. Free breakfast was more than adequate.

"Animals and smoke"
Booked 2 rooms, on same reservation form, which ended up at opposite complexes. Our non-smoking room was just across the hall from the smoking rooms. Smelled great. Like animals, but don't like to stay in a room behind someone's great dane. Check in took 20 mins since clerk was busy confirming reservations on the phone while we watched and listened; […] getting hotter by the min. Cat rooming on tables in the breakfast area. "Good Overall"
Generally a decent place to stay. Carpet could have been cleaner but everything else was clean and tidy.
"Pricey"
It may have been that it was Labor Day weekend but the prices were double what I paid for my last stay at a quality inn. Rooms were big and clean. Walls are paper thin but most neighbors were quiet. There are smoking rooms next to non-smoking rooms so expect some smells in the hall ways (never smelled smoke in our room). Continental breakfast was decent […] with breads, pastries, oatmeal, cereals, waffles, fruit and yoghurt. There's not too much around the hotel so expect a short 5 minute drive into town for restaurants or night life. It's easy to hop on and off the 101 although rotundas are used at either entrance/exit and they seemed to really confused most drivers so be careful. Easy 30 or so minute drive up to the Kuchel's Ranger Station to get information about Redwood National Forest. Les mer
"Quality Inn Arcata- inbetween Eureka and Trinidad"
The Quality Inn was affordable and the room large with a desk, lazy boy type recliner, small frig and microwave. The hotel offered a continental breakfast which was basic but plenty and items were replenished quickly. The only problem I had was with the dog next door. I didn't realize it was a pet friendly hotel and I was awakened by a bark at 6:30 […] a.m, other than that I would return but find out if there are any animals next to me. Les mer

"Location fine, otherwise sketchy"
I would not recommend staying here. The place is run down and frankly I did not feel all that safe. The bathroom sink and tub both had slow drains, the place is shabby and worn and long overdue for an update.
"Quality Inn - Very nice and clean hotel- RudeStaff"
This hotel is great for a quiet stay, but terrible for large groups, or anyone planning on making a moderate amount of noise (which many visitors to Arcata probably will want to do). When we arrived we were greeted very kindly by the late afternoon staff, and checked into our three rooms. Since we are a sports team, we decided to hang out together […] in one room that evening. The late night hotel staff then proceeded to burst into our room and threaten to call the police due to the loud noise, without even a first warning. The next morning we received threatening calls from the front desk that blew the situation out of proportion. Even worse: The following night, the person who rented the room had lost his room key, and the same night staff was on duty. She refused to help us obtain a new room key, and slammed the front concierge doors in our face. I will not be returning to the Quality Inn, unless they get some new staff who our respectful, or at least willing to keep their cool when confronting customers. Les mer

Nice, friendly staff and a delightful lobby "cat" named Cleo. Loved her : ) Hotel is clean and a good value for the money. Conveniently located just 30 miles from Redwood National and State Parks south entrance and only 15 minutes from Eureka where there's great waterside seafood!

Not a bad hotel overall, but needs some attention to details. Rusty items in bathroom. shower curtain did not go all the way across the tub opening.
Friendly and helpful staff. Arcata felt safer than comparable areas nearby. Continental breakfast was a good start to the morning. Great launching point to visit the redwoods.

Convenient location, just off 101. We had three rooms for ten people and we were comfortable. Discovered this was a pet friendly hotel (not my preference) after we arrived. Decent hotel for the price.

Very friendly staff. Free wifi. Ambitious breakfast, much better than expected. Clean and well kept. No laundry service but laundromat cross the street, quite okay. Easy to get there to/from freeway. Just a short drive down to Arcata town center. Recommended!

Nicest of the chains I've stayed at in Arcata. Good value, good location. Only complaint is they put us next to another party in an adjoining room, which meant there were two doors between us and not a solid wall. We heard EVERYTHING they watched on TV and talked about. "Happy birders"
The hotel was just down the Hwy from the Brown Shrike we were there to see.
We are regulars here, and we are always satisfied. The rooms are clean, although a bit outdated. Breakfast is fast and easy, especially with kids in tow. The staff is very friendly, and my kids love the cat in the lobby.

It was very clean and the staff was very polite and helpful. Breakfast was good with several options to chose from. We will stay there again.

Everything was fine with this hotel until 4:30 a.m. when our next door neighbors checked in. They talked incessantly and we could hear almost every word through the wall. People coming and going in the hallway early in the morning was noisy too, but that's not unusual, so we didn't worry about it. "No Surprises"
The hotel is on the outskirts of Arcata, a bit off the beaten path. Although somewhat dated, the room was reasonably clean, it was comfortable and, most importantly, it was quiet--I was on the top floor. Carpets need to be replaced--some furnishings upgraded.

"Not bad for Arcata!"
I've stayed in a few of the different motels in Arcata, and the Quality Inn is definitely the best so far. If you know the town, it's not hard to find, although it will seem awfully out of the way for people unfamiliar with the area. The location is actually good because you can actually walk downtown from (a very long walk, but possible) and if you […] have a bike, it's right in the flats so you can enjoy riding through cow country (lots of the cow fields have daffodils in the Spring!). They had mini shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, which is more than the two other motels on Guintoli had the last time I stayed at those places. Front desk staff were very nice, even with my super-late check-in time of 11 pm. Only gripe is that the windows don't have shears, so if your curtains are open, everyone can see in, which is kind of a big deal if your room is on the ground floor like mine was.
