Comfort Inn & Suites - Newark

1.) We got in at 2 am and needed to sleep late. They were rigid about allowing a late checkout. Checkout time is 11 (early for that area). I got extended to 12 but tough luck later than that 2.) Stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites for just a night. The hotel is tucked away, situated behind another hotel right off I-95. The hotel was well maintained, both inside and out. The lobby was clean. I was greeted immediately upon stepping to the desk. The front desk is located at the opposite end of the hotel from the elevators, something I found a bit […] odd. The room was comfortable. I wound up asking for a room with 2 beds as that was less expensive than a room with 1 bed. Strange. The downside to having the second bed was a lack of a comfortable chair to sit and watch tv in. The only chair in the room was the desk chair. I like having a "real" chair to sit in while watching tv. The hotel provides free WiFi and a free breakfast (scrambled eggs, Belgian Waffles, bacon, cereal, along with all the expected beverages). I was a bit worried about the bed, as I prefer beds that are a bit firmer, but I have to say I slept like a baby. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure in the shower was good. There was an exercise room (failed to use it). Checkout was as easy as check-in. My biggest complaints are more about what the hotel lacked. If there was a gift shop or restaurant, I couldn't find it. There was a convenience store within walking distance, as well as a chain restaurant but there was nothing else within walking distance. Very convienent .... And close to major shopping mall and lots of business and food locations.. Great stop inbetween Maryland and New York!!

Convenient hotel right off the highway and close to the mall. It was a nice little getaway for a short stay. Very clean, comfortable & a great night's sleep.

I need to come to the area once per week, so I've tried several hotels. This is the nicest for this price bracket, for sure. Staff is very friendly. What's important to me is usually the gym. They have one (GOOD) treadmill, one elliptical, one bike and a weight machine. All in good condition. And I'm usually the only one in there when I go. Location […] is good, as long as you have a car. Very comfortable and excellent room. For some reason the hallway was very hot but the room was excellent. Nice continental breakfast. Pleasant staff.

The only negative thing is that the room is small and has rather large furniture so moving around is a bit difficult.

We stayed at the hotel on Christmas night. It was extremely clean, the service staff was wonderful, we had complimentary breakfast and we would definitely stay at this hotel again. It was a great price for a nice hotel.

Unexpected comfort and amenities for a budget hotel. Nothing to even complain about. Clean, efficient, friendly. Includes breakfast, 2 newspapers (WSJ and USNWR), gym, refrig, microwave, hairdryer, etc. Nice arrangement including a desk area with overhead lightling.

The room seemed smaller than other Comfort Suites i've stayed in but overall it was fine. The staff was very nice and the rooms were very clean.

I was very pleased with the room and overall experience, staff extremely helpful, wonderful complimentary breakfast that was very well prepared, I would not hesitate to return again.

We came for UD Family Weekend and thought this hotel was great! Everything was new, clean and the beds were comfortable. It was only about a 5-7minute drive from the college and close to the Christiana Mall. I wish it had an indoor pool/hot tub but we wouldn't have had time to use it this trip anyway. Our only complaint was the breakfast. It was well […] organized, clean, well-stocked but....food quality was not up to par with the rest of the hotel. My son said the eggs tasted like powder and the sausage was horrible. We would have preferred to spend an extra few bucks to get better quality food. Les mer

The location was convenient for us; the room was clean; the bed was comfortable; and, the self-serve breakfast was wonderful. What more could you ask for when you travel and need a place to hunker down for the night.

My wife was injured at the Maryland Welcome Center. Went to ER there. We finally got to the Quality Inn in Newark, DE. We needed a wheel chair. There was none at the Inn as well as the Hotel next door. My son and I struggled with an office chair the clerk kindly offered. We had to use that in the room to get her around. A horrible ordeal to say the […] least. When we left, my youngest son who lives in Newark bought a wheel chair to get his mother. to the car and which we are presently using here at home. Truly every Quality Inn needs to have one on hand as travelers do meet up with accidents. Thank You. Les mer
