Svært fornøyd med oppholdet på hotellet , meget serviceminded personell , god frokost , mulig litt støy i spisesalen , men helt grei mat. Svært hyggelige og imøtekommende personell , både i skranken , og butikken eller han som satte vekk bagasjen. Lett å få tidlig innsjekking og sen utsjekking . Alt i alt , meget bra. Savnet minibar på rommet eller i alle fall et kjøleskap , men ellers var det ismaskin i gangen. Selv i New York var det mulig å få et stille rom.

Familie med to tenåringsdøtre. Fantastisk beliggenhet, flott service og komfortable rom. Suite Prestige med to dobble senger. Vi anbefaler dette hotellet sterkt om noen vil bo sentralt og vi er ikke i tvil om hvor vi skal bo neste gang. Det koster noen penger, men i forhold til beliggenhet og det du har igjen så er det ok.

Rene rom og god service - men veldig små rom. Måtte ha den ene kofferten på badet for å få plass. Men renholdet er viktigere enn størrelsen. Veldig bra beliggenhet og gåavstand til mange av hovedgatene på Manhatten.

Veldig bra opphold over 4 dager. Frokosten var grei nok. Vår datter på 15 var veldig fornøyd. Veldig god service i resepsjonen. Egen turistinformasjon som kunne gi mange tips til aktiviteter. Vi kommer gjerne igjen.

"Lucerne - nice but could have been more helpful"
The hotel and the room were very nice and clean. My only complaint is with the employees at the door sincewe were 3 women and no one offered to help us in with our bags or to help us put our bags in our car when we were leaving. We were trying to hail a cab in the morning and had to ask someone from the hotel for help, and he walked up the street without […] saying anything so we weren't sure if he was hailing a cab for us or not. I walked to him and asked him if the ABC studios were to the right and he said they were to the left and after walking that way we learned that ABC was, in fact, to the right. I don't understand why he wouldn't know that but nonetheless we headed off in the wrong direction. The employees at the front desk were very nice though. The ones outside weren't rude, just not helpful at all. Les mer

Our favorite hotel in our favorite neighborhood (Upper Westside) in our favorite city (New York)!!!!!! We have stayed here a number of times and every time was a joy.

THE PARKING WAS HORRIBLE. THE PARKING LOT ACROSS FROM THE HOTEL DID NOT ACCOMODATE OVERNIGHT GUEST!! AS A RESULT WE HAD TO TRAVEL BLOCKS TO ANOTHER LOT!! THE BELLMAN GAVE CONFUSING DIRECTIONS.

"Lucerne Hotel, NYC, close to Central Park, Museums"
We love going back to the Lucerne when our activities allow us time for the Central Park, and the Museums we enjoy revisiting. Great restaurants and other venues like a new one for our grandchild, called "Make", truly clever family friendly, resident or tourist, activitiy. And affordable. The service and cleanliness are superior in this hotel.

Enjoyed my stay very much. The location is wonderful and the room was just lovely. Very clean and comfortable. The only mirror is in the bathroom so my only suggestion would be to have an additional mirror in the room as well.
"Average & Adequate"
The best thing going for this hotel is Nice Matin, the restaurant next door and the free New York Times that are delivered to your door. The location is excellent, if you like proximity to Central Park and the 1, 2, or 3-lines on the Upper West Side. Being familiar with the area (as a 4-year resident on W. 76th Street), it was an easy choice to stay […] there for its location and its proximity to the park. Our actual room, however, was very average for the price that we paid. It was clean, but the entire floor seemed antiquated, gray, and a bit run-down. We were on the 9th floor, and perhaps this floor hasn't yet been renovated; (we saw some other floors outside of the elevator doors that looked to have a different and perhaps newer look to them). The entire floor was very hot and stuffy, and there was no way to control the heat/air in the room itself. In addition, the walls are pretty thin; sometime in the wee hours of the morning, we heard loud snoring from the room next door--two nights in a row. The decor is heavy, dark wood, heavy drapes, and is reminiscent of Victorian England rather than anything from the south of France. Again, it's adequate but for the price, we were expecting something a little more modern and luxurious. Les mer

First night the heater was not working but the manager offered to change our room which we declined as it was too late at night. Our request for extra blankets was immediately met. This hotel has a great location, is comfortable and has been well maintained and cared for. My only complaint was with the late check-in; I arrived from Europe at noon very tired, in need of a shower and planning to meet a colleague later in the afternoon. The location is great and the neighborhood as well. However, the walls are so thin that you hear others cough like they would cough right into your ear. Furthermore the rooms are tiny and the matress is too soft.

"Superior in every respect"
Great hotel, location 1 block from the #1 subway, neighborhood with plenty of good restaurants, couple blocks walk from Central Park, close to Museum of Natural History. Hotel small enough to feel personal, clean, well-run, extremely helpful staff including knowledgeable concierge and bellmen who go out of their way to make sure you are headed off in […] the right direction and stand in the bad weather to get you a cab, no matter how long it takes. "Lucerne - small rooms not queenly!"
Hotel is in a great location and has nice amenities....BUT don't get the queen room -- it is too small. Had room on 2nd floor with a view of an alley and metal bars on the window with loud air conditioner. Only stayed one night...so it was tolerable. Very disappointing after reading so many glowing reviews.

"Really Improved Hotel"
We stayed at the Lucerne years ago when it was a nice UWS budget choice. Hotel is still reasonably priced and has access to reduced rate parking which is important in this garage wasteland. We were presently surprised to see the hotel has been totally renovated and now has quite a regal feel. Heavy construction also make the rooms very quiet. As a native New Yorker the Lucerne was wonderful, in it's accommodations and location. I plan to make it my favorite spot when visiting home and in need of a hotel getaway.

"Our 2nd Visit"
this was our second visit and we had a much smaller room this time and felt a little cramped. Very limited surface space. No glasses in the room. We really felt that the hotel could at least supply coffee somewhere in the hotel in the morning. We were returning from Europe and always had some type of breakfast as well as coffee and juices included with […] the room rate. The connected resturant was very pricey even with the minimal discount. Service was not good there either. So dump the restaurant and serve coffee!! Then we'll be very happy. Les mer
"Great location, but not much else!"
Service is spotty, from somewhat friendly to rude. I booked room with queen bed, but getting to the hotel at 1 am we found that our room had 2 very short twin beds. Too tired, I left discussion until morning... In the morning, in rather rude tone, I was told that they did me a favor, because room with one (even queen) bed is even smaller (clerk's words […] - I cannot imagine how a room in the US can be any smaller). Lots of street noise, but if you get a room facing the back - don't be too happy - our friends traveling with us did - it stinks badly from the back alley, so you cannot open the window. I wiped the sink with a white towel and it became yellow - that was after cleaning... Again, great location, but not much else. Les mer

it's my 10nth time there and I'm usually more then glad to get back. Came in this time early in morning, got a room as soon as it was cleaned up - wya before the "check in time" - and upgraded from what I've booked. Staff are welcoming and communicative, and hospitable,

My wife and I stayed at the Lucerne for a weekend trip to NYC. The hotel is in a great location - slightly removed from the crowds in midtown/times square, close proximity to subway and central park and a residential atmosphere. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the concierge provided some good recommendations for meals and other activities. […] Having the Nice Martin restaurant right next door was convienent. Most notable con was that noise travelled easily between room and hallway. However, hallway was never very busy. Also, rooms were spaced apart, so no issue of noise between rooms. "Stay at Lucerne Hotel, New York - very convenient"
We stayed at the Lucerne because our son lives on the upper West Side of Manhatten and it's close by. The hotel is very centrally located, opposite from a drug store that's open 24/7 with restaurants all around. The room was small but very pleasant and clean. Best of all, the bed was great - very comfortable with great pillows.

Perfect location on UWS--one block walk to #1 train, two block walk to Central Park and Museum of Natural History and 10 minute walk to Lincoln Center. Surrounded by dozens of wonderful restaurants. Nice Matin Restaurant-- in the building--has very […] nice, reasonable, tasty prix fixe menu. Complimentary newspaper at door each morning. That said, two complaints:(1) room was so small that two people couldn't get dressed at the same time (2) if you choose to have a quiet room your window is in a shaft overlooking the other wall of the hotel. I booked into the Lucerne Hotel on the recommendation of a friend. I loved the proximity to Central Park as well as the many excellent local restaurants. It's just a couple of hundred metres from the #1 Station which makes it very easy to get around. Loved being away from all the noise and chaos of Times Square - very peaceful neighbourhood. The Lucerne is a wonderful hotel on the Upper West Side. It has tons of charm and character - not like the giant chain hotels. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and it was perhaps the quietest room I've ever stayed in anywhere. A lovely stay. You won't regret staying here.
