The hotel was right on the beach next Sarento's on the Beach. Great location. We walked to a few restaurants about 2.5 miles from hotel. Didn't mind the walk because of the great ocean view. The room was a little small since we came from the Four Seasons, however the room was perfect because we were hardly in it. The hotel is old and in need of a makeover. But the price was really good and the location was great.

Great Location, Bathroom was horrible and dirty. Showers were dirty and floor in shower was peeling with moldy and hair from previous guests. Floor in room was sandy and dirty form previous guests as well.

This place is right on the water which is lovely, but that's about the only perk you get. The rooms are tiny and need to be updated badly (some of them smell like mildew, but staff would relocate you if they have room). The hair dryer is ANCIENT so bring your own if you're the type that needs to blow dry your hair. The windows are small so I'm glad […] I didn't upgrade to "ocean view". The staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is very nice but super pricey so beware! In short, this place is OK for the money, but don't expect any luxury. Les mer

Good location, tempurpedic mattress is great! Shower needed updating. Room is small but clean. Overall well worth the price. We have stayed here 5-6 times and will definitely stay again.

The Hotel is located on the west side of Maui, due south (15 miles) from the Kahului Airport. It is just steps from a long, white-sand beach whose waves are very "family friendly", and are appropriate for children and "boogey boards". The Staff is very friendly and helpful, and ample parking can be found close to the Hotel buildings. A large number […] of stores and restaurants are within a few blocks of the property, and a restaurant may be found on-site, with another in an adjoining Hotel, approximately 200 feet away. Crushed ice, a picnic area, and lounge chairs are available to guests. The Hotel has no swimming pool. The rooms are equipped with a TV, clock radio, air conditioner, refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, and hair dryer. Each room is clean, compact, and functional. The ONLY potential downside of the rooms is that they are constructed with a door that can unlock into an adjoining room (to create a two-bedroom suite), but the passage way is not well insulated, and some noise can travel between the rooms. The Hotel is approximately 20 miles from Lahaina, 45 miles from Haleakala Crater, and 65 miles from Hana. Les mer

I have stayed at this hotel before and once again booked it..this time the cleanliness was not so good..my coffee maker had a ANT convention (I opened the top to pour water and the ANTS came flooding out) and when I told the front desk she didn't say sorry how can I fix it, let me get you a new pot..nothing..the maid never left cups for water etc, had […] to go to front desk and ask daily..maid didn't change towels. not too impressed with this visit. This is not a luxurious hotel. The walls are thin. The rooms are small. There's not even a couch. There is a little refrigerator and a TV (not a flat screen or a digital or anything fancy). The last stay, my neighbor liked to sleep with the TV on. No problem, I just turned on the AC and I couldn't hear a thing. Of course, I couldn't hear my TV either. […] But I didn't travel to Maui to watch TV. The location is great. It's right next to the Five Palms and on (in my opinion) the nicest beach in Kihei. If you're not looking for a resort experience, just a place to shower and sleep, then this places is fine. The towels are clean, the bed is very comfortable. The price is low for Maui. The room smelled musty, and the floor was filthy. However the staff was willing to move us, but since we were unpacked, and only staying one more night, we chose not to move,

Rooms were small and dated but did have microwave and refrigerator which was nice. We had a problem getting any beach towels - none were available. Internet is only available in the lobby. The beach was nice and we enjoyed the 1 mi. walk to restaurants. The price was very reasonable and I would recommend the hotel for short stays.

This is our second time staying at the Days Inn. What makes us enjoy this location is the reef that is right outside of your hotel room and the wonderful beach and relaxed location. The beds are VERY comfortable and rooms and clean. Staff is great but I am not sure they really care when something needs to be fixed. Our air conditioner was leaking on […] our bed everyday and it never was fixed. We had to leave it on the fan instead of air to make it not leak. Front desk said they would have it looked at but never did. One of things that we just lived with. Wrapping a towels around the area that leaked made it so it didn't get our bed wet again. You'll read that the rooms are small, and this is true but they are also very comfortable and clean. Some updates would be nice, but overall a great place to stay at a good price. If you are looking to spend all your time in your hotel room, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a place to keep your things and have a great night's sleep […] after going on excursions all day this is the place. The hotel has done extremely well with its smaller rooms with new features and upgrades. Although only a few rooms have direct views of the beach, they are all within steps of one of the best beaches on the island in an excellent location. Room & bathroom very small.

Yes it's older but it was clean, beds were comfy, extended basic cable, whirlpool can fit 2 medium sz adults, and ok beach view but that's what u get for partial view. All in all good place but yes older with perks! I would stay again it's descent priced for what you get.

Great location, nice beach and cosy look and feel of hotel. Amazingly comfy bed, the noisiest box aircon i have ever heard in my life, friends in another room with quieter one than ours but still noisy. The terribly noisy aircon and small tight carparks only complaints, would stay again if aircon was not the same.

We stayed here after some time at one of Maui's high-dollar resorts. We were surprised and pleased by the way the staff at Day's Inn greeted and helped us. Although the room was tiny compared to the one we had at the resort, it was always clean and well-maintained. It was also much closer to the ocean than the resort. If you're looking for affordable […] accessibility to the beach, you can't beat this hotel. Thanks to its proximity to another complex next door, all the amenities for beach and water activities are readily available. A couple of very fine restaurants are within easy walking distance. Parking is the only problem, but there is a free public lot behind the hotel where we parked the entire time. It is just as convenient to the rooms as the hotel's small amount of parking availability. Les mer

Smaller room but good location on nice beach

Wow!!! What can I say, this hotel was beautiful on the outside but not much to talk about on the inside. The hotel desk clerk was very pleasant, very accomodating. When I checked into the room I was surprised by the size of the room. I mean seriously I could easily sit on the bed and answer the door at the same time and I'm not a big person. There was […] really no room for anything else but sleep. The bathrooms were extremely small, I'd bend down to rinse out my mouth in the bathroom sink and hit my forehead on the faucet handle. If your the type who likes to relax and read a good book on the potty, forget about it, its as big as the ones you find on the airplane. Actually I think the ones on the airplane are bigger. Oh and yes there are no elevators, we had to carry up our luggage up these wooden narrow steep stairs. I was luck I didn't slip and fall, that would have been horrible. The hotel sits oceanfront so I did enjoy the view from my balcony. Would I stay there again? Probably not? I paid a pretty penny to stay at this hotel and to me it wasn't worth it. Les mer

Hotel is ok if you only plan to sleep there- as in leave at sunrise and return at sunset.

I just came back from Maui Oceanfront Days inn, after spending a week there. I am a littlel up in the air about how I feel about this hotel so will list pros/cons Pro. Close to the beach Budget price ( for Maui) Cons DIrty room. FIrst night we got a towel that was GROSS Smells like a goodwill- had to air out room We stayed 7 nights and they only changed […] sheets the last night. we kniw because sheet was torn and it stayed that way for 6 nights Mold/ rusty bathroom I dont think housekeeping is the best. SOmetimes we would get 1 towel, sometimes 2 shampoo but not tp, it was odd. Internet in LOBBY AREA ONLY SARRENTOS ON THE BEACh takes up ALL parking, and the patios of beach front rooms. AS in people can look in your room. you only see people in your patio. uncomfortable. TV I ancient room is tiny even coming from NYC Overall they need to clean the rooms better My husband and I were really taken aback at check in and would have left had we not prepaid our entire stay. If you truly only sleep here it it ok. We left the room at 6 or 7 am and came home after sunset so in the end we felt it was ok, but would probably look for another hotel for future trips because of housekeeping issues. Les mer

On the upside is the ocean front setting, but there is only ocean view from the rooms in the building closest to the beach. On the downside the rooms are very small and not suited for staying indoor should the weather be bad or for other reasons which leaves you no where to stay as the lobby is very small to. Great location right on one of Mauis best beaches. Room tiny and noisy, grounds are pretty but not very clean, cig butts in gardens. Would not stay more than one night unless you only plan on sleeping there.

We weren't expecting too much to be honest but the room was very cramped, more than expected, the shower was not lit, and you had to be careful not to have it leak water all over the bathroom floor. The room was sold as having internet but when we got there it was available in the lobby only.... Parking was always available but again, very cramped. Hotel is in a great beachfront location. Staff was nice. Rooms are small but efficient. Grills should be upgraded to gas... they were the charcoal style but you'd need to run out to get charcoal as they don't provide any.

We had a great time at this hotel. The staff was very friendly (Crystal front desk ) . If you rent a car dont do it from the airport. If on a buget take public bus $2.00 from airport. Stops right in front of the hotel howver takes about an hour. Once getting in the area go with kiehi rent a car. very cheap they will come to the hotel. Hotel is great […] for under 5 days. If staying longer then that with 2 people I would go for a larger room. If single by yourself it was great. The all day 2 dollar bus pass is a good deal goes all over the island if you dont rent a car Les mer

The positives were location, beautiful beach with good snorkeling, and low price. The floor was always gritty and you had to wipe your feet before getting in the bed. The bed linen was not changed after three days, and we had to request that the sheets be changed. The room was very small and stuffy. It's an old place with old beds good location

An old place in a great location with great rates. While not luxurious, it was exactly what we wanted and needed.

Moldy bathroom and cockroaches. I almost couldn't sleep there. But, the tempurpedic mattress was pretty comfy. And the beach is right outside the door.

I've stayed here twice now. The walls are paper thin, the rooms are small, not even space for a couch, just one queen size bed. But if you just want a clean safe place to sleep at a reasonable price (for Maui), this is worth a look. It's right on the beach and a short drive, or walkable distance, to the center of Kihei, or drive south to Wailea, Big […] Beach, etc. Les mer

I have no complaints about my room except the problem of being on the first floor. I don't know if it was due to poor construction of the hotel or if we were just unfortunate enough to have a guest above us that stomped around the hotel room most of the night and early the next morning. It was a miserable night due to this issue. If it wasn't for that […] one problem my rating would have been higher. I knew the rooms would be small so that was not an issue, especially the price we paid for the area we were in. Les mer

The rooms are tiny but adequate. Parking is close to rooms. Snorkeling and excellent beach is very close and accessible. If you are going to stay in your room this is not your place, but if you want good rates and excellent access to snorkeling and a beautiful beach this is it.

I needed a place to stay for one night and I knew I would be arriving close to midnight. As such, I didn't want to spend much on a hotel. The Days Inn Maui oceanfront is seriously right on the beach. It took me one minute to walk from my room to a beautiful beach with outdoor showers and public parking. The hotel is located at the southern end of the […] main drag in Kihei, where all the stores, restaurants and bars are located. If you don't mind a very basic budget hotel and are looking for location and proximity to the beach this is the place. I freaked out when I saw how old the room was (CRT Tv with flickering screen, beige tiled floor throughout, very old looking furniture and bed linens) and regretted not spending more for a hotel, but in all fairness the room was clean, the location was great, parking was free, and the room came with a fridge. Go in with expectations of a clean, budget hotel and you will not be disappointed. Les mer

Tiny room with no HSIA! Great location, that's about it. Small cramped room, in mediocre state of upkeep. Noisy and no internet. On the beach, with an excellent, overpriced restaurant on the property. Close to "downtown" Kihei, and convenient to gold at Wailea and Makena. About an hour to Lahaina and the west side.

The great location helped to make our stay more bearable. I read reviews prior to our trip that talked about the small rooms (we had the standard/non-smoking room with queen size bed) and that wasn't an exaggeration! The room was so small that I felt claustraphobic. There was also a wall mounted (not recessed) air conditioning unit that protruded slightly […] over the edge of the bed that would turn off and on continuously. I understand why it does this but to hear it go on and off at night was unbearable! I called to complain about it in the middleof the night but I was told that there was nothing that could be done about it so we slept with the a/c off and opened up the only window in the room. This may be acceptable when it is a cooler season, but not when it's hot and humid. There was also a hole (open large cracked area) in our stand up shower which didn't bug me but sure doesn't look good in respect to their maintenance and upkeep of the hotel. We also put the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on our door, only to come back to our hotel room later that day and finding that housekeeping did come in and clean the room. Fortunately the front desk employees were always very nice and the location of the hotel made all the difference for us. Although we couldn't see the ocean, we were so close to the beach that it helped us to cope with our small room. I definately wouldn't recommend this to honeymooners. I would highly recommend spending a little more money and get a room that is larger and more comfortable. Les mer
