Grand Hotel Minerva - Firenze

Oppholdet var bra, ble møtt i døren av personalet, fikk hjelp med koffert opp til rommet. Frokost var veldig bra og de var serviceinnstilt. Fine rom og gode senger. Bra størrelse på badet var det også.

beliggenheten bare 5 min fra jernbanest. hvor buss fra flyplass kommer og går hver halvtime. Også bare 5-10 min. til sentrum. Nært elven hvor det er ok å jogge via broene.

Hotellet har fin beliggenhet. Sentralt og i nærliggende til alle severdigheter. Hotellet hører ikke hjemme under "Grand Hotel". Helt middels og grei standard. God service hos personalet.

Perfect location, beautiful views from the lovely pool, nice breakfast, service minded staff......I'll be recommending this hotel for all my friends going to Florence!

Very good and central location for my business and family's leisure activities. The atmosphere was traditional and cosy. The balconies and roof-top pool added to the ambience. One minor complain was the shower head which could not be adjusted due to "low" ceiling above the tub. The water jet was directed towards the back wall of the tub and showering […] was thus inconvenient. However, I think this may be only a pecularity of our room. Les mer

The hotel is very effectively managed. The front desk is efficient and no-frill. It is close to the train station, the Duomo and outdoor market. It is in a quiet square and next to a splendid church. It is a solid and good value hotel.

The hotel was in a great location. It was very close to the train station and next door to a notable church. It was a very easy walk to many other attractions, shops, restaurants, tour pick ups, etc. There was a Slow market in the piazza of the hotel upon over arrival, Saturday. It was wonderful; lots of foods and drinks. I was disappointed that the […] air condition was only operational during the summer months. It got a little warm during our visit so I slept with the window open and had to fight a few Mosquitos and feared the pigeons would come into the room. The hotel offered free Wifi and computer use which was handy during the visit. The rooms were very well kept but there was an odd smell in the lobby area and I tripped over a rug as I entered the elevator. The breakfast was ample and filling considering I was not at an American hotel. The hotel staff was very helpful with assisting us with tours and seeing surrounding areas. Les mer

Upon check in I was not pleased with my room. It was basic and spartan with cheap furnishings. The hotel could not fix this as they were sold out. We were booked there for 3 days and I was not looking forward to them. BUT.. the hotel itself is great--modern and clean. The roof deck pool was a welcome oasis for my kids after hot days of sight seeing […] and the view was amazing! We had friends come and visit us and spent the day up there (bar and limited food service) which was a welcome break in the summer heat. Its in the middle of all and the staff was great with my kids and very friendly and helpful. We will definitely book this hotel again BUT ask in advance for their best room. I think they have better rooms but perhaps not as many as the much lower class of room that we were given. Les mer

The Hotel Grand Minerva was the perfect place for us to stay in Florence. While we were looking for quality, comfort and location (which we got!), we also traveled with our 5-year old son who loves to swim, so having the rooftop pool to enjoy before and after a day of sightseeing was a blessing. The rooms (we saw 2 of them) were a nice size and very […] comfortable. Even with the extra single bed in our room, we had plenty of space and everything was good quality. The hotel was located in the Piazza Santa Maria Novella, directly next to the Santa Maria Novella Church, so it was very central for all attractions in Florence and offered wonderful views over the square, of the church and of Il Duomo and the surrounding mountains from the rooftop terrace/pool area. Breakfast was included with our room rate and was a plentiful buffet with lots of selection, and the hotel staff, both at the front desk and in the breakfast room were extremely friendly and helpful. We were very happy with our choice. I think that this hotel offers something for all occasions, so whether for a romantic getaway or a family vacation, I highly recommend it. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, and the hotel was in great condition and ideally located. The only negatives were that (1) the A/C was centrally controlled and appeared to be turned down in the middle of the night, making nights in late June rather hot and (2) our room was located under the dining room which meant waking up to the scooting […] of chairs each morning. My husband and I traveled througout Italy and found the hotel staff at the Grand Minerva to be the most polite, helpful, and customer-service oriented. They put us in a room on the top floor overlooking the piazza even though we only paid for the "standard room." This attitude was far different from those of other hotel staff which we encountered, even […] at some of the most expensive hotels in Rome. We complained about the cleanliness of the bedspread, and it was immediately changed. The location of the hotel was great since the Duomo and train station were all within walking distance. On the negative side, I requested a wake-up call, which never came (thankfully I also set the alarm on my telephone). The bed mattress and pillows could have been replaced as they were not the most comfortable. Overall, despite this, I would still recommend this hotel to others. The customer-service was great! Great location & beautiful views. Convenient to the train station! Good variety @ breakfast. Very hard beds and our toilet was less than clean when we arrived & the cleaning staff seemed inconvenienced that we asked to have the toilet cleaned again.

We upgraded our room to a superior one.What a great hotel. Staff was so good and helpful. Bathroom big. Nice breakfast. Very close to the train station.You could walk to the attractions. I really recommend this hotel.

Location was perfect..a short walk to Train Station and easy walks to all the top attractions. Breakfast was very good and staff freindly and helpful. The downside was the shower...installed in such a way you had to hug the wall of tub to use it or pull it down and use hand held only. The dropped ceiling in the tub/shower needed repair as had peeling […] paint and the looks of mold Les mer

Staff was helpful. Quiet room with nice view (in the rear of the hotel). Near to resturants and all historic sites. Nice roof top area for having a glass of wine at night.

I JUST TOOK A GUESS AT THIS HOTEL AS WE NEEDED THREE ROOMS AND WANTED SOMETHING CLOSE TO THE TRAIN STATION. ALL OF OUR OBJECTS WERE MET AND THEN SOME. GREAT LOCATION FOR EVERYTHING. JD

The room is pretty spacious and cozy. The service was great, the breakfast was plenty and yummy with hot dish and wide selection of bread. Italian coffee was superb. Staff was also excellent. Totally recommended!

We recently stayed for 2 nights at this Hotel. It was a very clean, professionally run hotel. The breakfast buffet was excellent, the people were extremely helpful and were very happy to converse in English. The location was excellent--everything was within walking distance. The only problem with the room was that the pillows were uncomfortably hard. […] The quality of the bed and linens was great, the bathroom was terrific, it is only the pillows that gave us a problem--we woke with stiff necks! The only other advice if staying here--if you take the train from Rome, make sure you print out a map of Florence. The train station is only 2 blocks from the hotel, but because we had no map, we took a cab and, even though he only drove us a short way, he charged us 10 euro. Its a very nice hotel..with large bathrooms which is not common to find in europe.. nice hotel staff.. excellent location.

Quite a wonderful hotel on a great Piazza next to Santa Maria Novella --a truly beautiful church. good breakfast and friendly service.

Outstanding hotel in a perfect location in Florence. Two blocks from the train station, five minutes from the Duomo. A beautiful room overlooking the Piazza Santa Maria Novello. Probably my favorite European hotel.

Me and my wife spent 2 nights in Grand Hotel Minerva. It was a nice experience. The staff was friendly and the room was ok, however there was no internet avaiable . The location of this hotel is a huge great point! They have a nice breakfast also. We recommend this hotel if you are going to spend few days in Firenze.

This hotel is just five minutes walk from the central station, and set in a beautiful surrounding. Everything is close by and can be easily reached by walking. There was three people in each of our rooms and there was still plenty of space. breakfast was excellent they even had champagne. the roof top pool is very refreshing after a days sight seeing.. […] all of us were very impressed and wouldnot hesitate in staying here again Les mer

Good hotel in a good location. Staff is very helpful. You'll be lucky if Siad is on duty in the bar. Good guy. Just don't try to talk to him in a language you really don't know. Seems to iritate him a little. Anyway, he probably knows yours. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay at the Grand Minerva. The staff was friendly and always helpful. The pool was fantastic to come home to after a day of sightseeing - the kids loved it! If you come in to Florence by train, this hotel is two blocks and a very easy walk. The hotel is beautiful and our room was huge with a lovely small balcony. It was so easy to walk to all the sights from our hotel-the town square, the bridge of gold, the Duomo and Bell Tower. Also close to many eating places. This was a wonderful hotel experience. The staff was freindly and helpful. Parking was taken care of easily. The location was wonderful- the view of the Duomo and the rooftops of the city. We opened our window and took in all the people on the plaza below, enjoyed the rooftop pool and rooftop bar. The breakfast was gorgeous and delicious. This hotel is very centrally located and walking distance to all of the main tourist attractions. The main negative is that hotels around Firenze / Florence are incredibly expensive compared to other cities we visit. Similar quality hotels around Dublin / Cork / Galway / Derry are generally around half the price of hotels of a similar standard to those […] in Tuscany. Apart from the price of this hotel, which would be a universal complaint relating to all hotels in Florence, my only note of caution for this hotel related to access to the swimming pool. We were eager to get a hotel with a pool. Thankfully our stay was on a Tuesday and Wednesday whereby we got full access to relax by the pool. On the Thursday we departed, the pool was closed off to residents due to a private function. How annoying it would be to book a hotel on the basis of having full access to a swimming pool only to find such access severely limited if you happened to be staying on one of the days the hotel hosts functions in this area. However, the above are just the negatives to note. Overall our stay in this hotel was very enjoyable and I would return. Top marks to very pleasant and helpful staff. Our room was spacious, quiet and clean. Les mer

Florence was the third city during my vaction in Italy. The hotel is conveniently located near the train terminal and the Duome. It was nice having a roof top view of the city and a swimming pool. I got a little disoriented with the diagonal streets of Florence, but the hotel was located in a large open plaza which was easy to find. The European breakfast […] buffet was the best one of the four cities I visited while in Italy. The room was average size with an average bathroom, but they provided plenty of towels. The room had a keyed safe for valuables. A small refrigerator with hotel beverages was provided, where I was able to store a few of "my own beverages." I had a nice time at Grand Hotel Minerva. Stay at this hotel my wiife and I have it as our number one throughout our 11 day trip to 5 different cities.

HIghly recommended, excelent location, excellent price , excellent service, the room was inpecable. You should definitelly stay here !!! Worth every penny !!!

We loved this hotel. It was very conveniently located to the train station, and after arrival, we just walked right to the hotel. The staff was very helpful. And the room was actually quite large, considering other rooms we stayed in while traveling in Italy. Finally, the rooftop view was FABULOUS. Hotel location is a two minute walk from the train station and within 10-15 minutes of walk from virtually all the tourist attractions. It is located right at Piaza Santa Maria Novella which itself is a tourist spot and is a great place for hanging out at any hour of night or day. Our room on the sixth floor had a view of the piaza as well as the Florence […] skyline. There is a rooftop swimming pool (closed when we were there in October) with an adjoining sun room and a panoramic view of Florence. The decor has a nice Florentine touch. Breakfast, amenities, staff were all great. The only negative was the fact that one of two internet terminals always seemed to be out of order. Les mer

very comfortable and welcoming hotel in a very good position to be able to explore Florence. the roof top pool was magnificent [ if a little cold] and the breakfast buffet was full of variety with fresh fruit and plenty of different breads and pastries as well as a cooked choice. can't imagine that there is a better hotel in Florence.
