Holiday Inn Country Club Plaza - Kansas City

The hotel was very moderate, however, in a very nice area. A real plus is their van service that they will drop you off, and pick you up in a certain radius, which was super convenient. Not as convenient however, is that there is no coffee place in hotel, which kind of outweighs negativily on everything else!

Being one of the least expensive hotels near The Plaza, I wasn't expecting much; therefore I wasn't disappointed. I think a 3-star rating is probably accurate - nothing fancy. Perks: Free Parking and good location.

The access to the hotel itself is a mess. The parking is suited only for compact cars and don't bring more than one unless you are willing to pay. There is no guarantee that the room you book will actually be the room that you receive. You might get a breakfast buffet for your troubles.

This hotel was very convenient for parking our car. Its location allowed us to walk to the plaza with its terrific restaurants. There was a free shuttle that took us to Crown Center & Union Station. We had a great time while in KC. Our rooms were quiet even on St. Pat's weekend!

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years - mostly because of convenience to places that we prefer to visit. It is clean and meets our needs. We took our ipad and found that the wi-fi was very slow.

great hotel, nice an dclean , they put us on the first floor between several rooms of sorority/fraternity rooms, needless to say we did not get much sleep, at one oint someine tried to enter our room. Had to make several phone calls throughout the night to the front desk complaining. I beleieve the cops shoudl have been involved since there was obvious […] under age drinking involved, Complained about it the next morning, all they agreeed to do was comp breakfast. The location of the room was excellent with very easy parking. I found the staff to be very accomodating. Food was good and staff was friendly.

Was right in the middle of everything! Was able to spend time in Westport and Many Art museums and Parks were just around the corner. Took no time to get anywhere. The staff was very friendly and helped when needed.

All the staff were very friendly always greeting you and willing to answer questions and help.

We stayed 3 days, the staff was very nice, but some did know much about the area. The bar could be open longer when a group is staying there. I would recommend.

Room was excellent. Location excellent. Front desk very helpful and friendly. Restaurant service was poor at best. I bought a breakfast meal with the room, but the restaurant never gave me credit for it. Buffet was closed.

We had stayed at this hotel with other wedding guests for our son's wedding...6 years ago...This time our visit was just as great. Close to the Plaza, restaurants and many activities (art institute, WW1 museum etc) Staff great and very helpful. The only recommendation I would have would be that the Hotel have more staff at Holiday Bkfst or have modified […] buffet. Les mer

Although the hotel was in a great area we did not recieve the room we wanted with a plaza view, but still had to pay the price. The hotel staff should consider better ventalation in the rooms, very stuffy. The shower walls needs a little more attention, noticed a lot of mildew build up. The directions to the hotel were difficult. Though the front desk staff was courteous, I was treated as if I stay in hotels all the time and should know what to do next. *** Clue...this is a vacation in a place I've never visited before. *** Our room was okay. Clean, comfortable and quiet room for a modest price. Staff were very courteous and helpful. The Hotel was within blocks of KC Plaza shops, restaurants and Art Museums. Nice outdoor pool area. Parking was an issue the weekend we were there because of a wedding reception. Room could have used a table and a couple of chairs...no place to eat when we ordered […] room service. The location of this hotel is great, but the room and bathroom was small. And, the beds are as hard as a rock so nobody slept. Because of the rock hard beds, we won't be staying here again.

Cramped rooms, no breakfast included, elevators are hidden, understaffed front desk. Clean, nice pool, GREAT shuttle service.

Stayed at the holiday inn on the plaza, because we had stayed at the hotel across the street many times and wanted to try something new. Pulled in parking garage and saw "we are not responsible for theft" thinking that every hotel must have that. Checked in with a lady that was ok, not too nice but not mean. Went to our floor that smelled like it was […] reallllllly old. We decided to ignore this and go to the room which is alright for the price you are paying, but old everything (box tv, small bathroom). We used the free shuttle which was convienent. Went out to eat and walked around the plaza, and was able to walk 10 mins back to the hotel, which wasnt bad. Woke up in the morning, had late checkout and went to my car which was in the hotels "secure parking". Discovered my car had been broken into... which is a common occurance at this hotel. Went upstairs to report the breakin, to find out that the hotel management knew the theft had occured at the time of theft and the police already came and made a report. The problem was that the hotel had not reported this incident to me. They sent my room a text message, which how im supposed to know how to recover a text message on the hotels landline I have no idea. So they left my window wide open for 9 hours, for someone else to come steal what the first thief didn’t steal which included my $550 radar detector and $200 oakley sunglasses. The moral of the story is that, since there is a hotel across the street that monitors their parking garage, even though it costs you $7-10 a night, it is well worth not obtaining $1400 in damage to your vehicle because the “secure parking garage” is not really secure. I even emailed the corporate office and had no response to my email, so it shows how much they care about customer service. WARNING STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE Les mer

nice location for the price. Pool is outside and nice for summer visits

We stayed two nights at this hotel with our son. The location was exactly what we wanted, the staff was very friendly and the pool was nice. But overall, the hotel needs major improvements. It is really showing its age and feels grungy and run down. I think it was clean enough, but hard to tell because of how old everything felt. It was in the middle […] of a heat wave and some of the air conditioning in the building was not working. The bed was also really hard. It was a good price for a pretty expensive part of town, but I think next time we will pay a little more to stay somewhere nicer. Les mer

This hotel is clean and comfortable and in a great neighborhood with easy access to the country club plaza shops. My only complaint was that it was very noisy. We had a room facing the pool which was a mistake. In addition to this, the hallways were always noisy and the walls are thin.

Our stay at this hotel was exceptional! We had our infant with us and called the front desk to get a refridgerator to store her milk and it was delivered very fast! The staff was very helpful, kind, and made our stay very nice.

A great choice when planning your wedding to be near The Plaza or Downtown. Thanks to all the hotel staff for planning a key role in the success of my wedding day!

There would have been nothing bad to say about this hotel had the cleaning staff actually cleaned my room everyday. However, they did not do a very good job on two of the five days I stayed there. We checked reviews before booking and heard this hotel was newly remodeled. But I would say our room was only partially remodeled. There was new carpet, wallpaper & vanity in the bathroom, but everything else was old. The furniture was old and worn, including stains and cigarette burns, the tile in the bathroom was old and dirty, with urine around the […] toilet and mildew in the shower. Also, the TV was an old style tube TV. Not what I consider updated!!! The room had a microwave and mini fridge which was useful. The free secure parking was nice, and the staff was friendly. The location was great, just a block off the Plaza, but with so many other hotels in the immediate area, we won't be staying at this one again. Les mer

The hotel was under some construction so that was a bit of a minus. Pool was also under construction. However, staff was very friendly and helpful. They offer free parking and free shuttle service so that was a plus. Rooms are kind of small and TVs are old; but the shower and shower heads are amazing. I would stay here again.

Overall this was a nice hotel. They are in the process of remodeling it and what they have done so far is very nice. When i arrived late in the morning I was told they couldn't check me in because they were doing there audit and I had to sit and wait for a half hour which usually wouldn't be that bad except that It was three in the morning and I was […] exhausted from driving all day. Also one morning at 6:30 am a worker knocked on my door and asked if it was occupied and this was really annoying because it woke me up from a deep sleep and scared me, when I called the front desk to ask why this happened they told me someone accidentally checked us out and that they were sorry and they didn't really do anything to remedy the situation. other than these instances it was nice. While this hotel was above average, there was construction in the driveway entry to the hotel. It appears they are expanding the area where you park for check-in which is much needed. It was hard to tell exactly what the improvements will look like once it is finished. Very attractive lobby area. rooms were nice, newly renovated. Bed was comfortable. The people were nice. unfortuneately, they were still renovating the hotel, the inside was almost done but the outside was not. Construction made loading and unloading our car very difficult since they blocked off the main entrance to the hotel.

We got there and they had the room messed up from what was confirmed from hotels.com. jim took a few moments but got it arranged. Very nice, clean, in process of updating. Parking a little tight but manageable. Convenient location. Would stay there again. Recommend it.

I travel for work on a regular basis, and generally stay in Holiday Inn's because I "always" know what I will get. This Holiday though was nothing like what I expected. It is completely run down, and outdated. It is in need of some serious renovations. But I guess I should have expected this from the price I got for my stay.
