Santa Chiara Hotel - Venezia

Vi ble veldig skuffet da vi ankom Santa Chira Hotel, ca 24.00 lørdags kveld, 28. april. 4 par hadde bestilt sammen, og vi ble henvist til annekset. Da vi ankom inngangshallen i annekset, ble vi møtt med en veldig innestengt luft. Da vi gikk inn på våre rom så var det enda verre. Det første vi gjorde var å sette opp dører til lufting. I førsteetasjen […] var det ingen vindu, kun dører direkte ut til gatenivå og ingen mulighet for lufing. Vi begynte med å sette på airkon. men den virket ikke på ett rom. Etter ei natt med ingen luftsirkulasjon, våknet vi med hodepine og var uvel. Vi ønsket å bytte rom, men det var ingen ledig. Vi møtte en fantastisk by, men det var ikke moro å returnere til hotellet. Først mandag ble airkon. i orden. Det vil si 2 netter med ubehag. Da vi kom tilbake til hotellet mandag ca. kl. 16.00, ja da var det et helt annet rom, innestengte luften var borte. Fra mandag ble rommet bra og vi fikk 2 fine dager og netter. Vi synes at det er veldig dårlig service og ikke sjekke om at rommene er klar til besøk. Rommene i annekset og inngangpartiet var tydeligvis ikke brukt før oss og vi reiser 2 ganger pr. år til forskellige byer, men dette var den dårligste mottakelsen vi hadde fått. Konklusjon: Santa Chiara Hotell må se over rommene før gjestene kommer. Rommene var veldig bra ellers, gode senger og god hygiene. Men sjekk at alt er i orden før gjestene kommer!!!!!!. Vi fikk 2 veldige dårlige dager, men heldigvis ble de 2 siste dager og de siste 2 netter kjempebra. Les mer

Det som gjør hotellet så flott er nærheten til både busstasjonen og togstasjonen. Hotellet ligger helt nede ved Canal Grande, så det er mulighet for å ta Vaparetto for å komme seg rundt i byen og lagunen. Det er et stykke å gå til både Rialto og San Marco, men med hyggelige kafer og butikker ikke langt unna hotellet er det en riktig så hyggelig tur. […] Spesielt for reisende som skal videre med buss og tog er dette er veldig bra hotell. Eneste minus var nok tilbøyeligheten til småkaos ved frokost, mangel på stoler og kun en stakkars mann som løp beina av seg for å hjelpe. Ellers var dette en riktig så hyggelig overraskelse. The Santa Chiara Hotel is currently undergoing massive renovations. We were placed in their annex bldg, about half a block walk along the canal away. Our room was the largest room we've ever had in Europe and attached to a bathroom the size of many of the rooms we've had. The room had no obvious way to turn the temperature down, and was a bit stuffy […] unless we open the patio door to a shared patio. The room had a mini-bar, but no phone and no internet. Free internet was locked in the hotel lobby, but the walk was enough to prevent us from bothering except when we were already there for breakfast (which was fine, but unexciting. I liked it, but my husband found it not diverse enough to his picky likings). The location made up for the lack of tech. The PI. Roma boats were all but right out the door, the bus staying was up a few stairs, and we could easily get anywhere. All in all, it was a mixed experience. Location great. Great size room. But... Great Hotel for location. Fairly short walk from rail station ( new walking bridge over canal built 2009), bus station (including airport bus), Vaparetto stops, and on the canal walkway. Very good continental breakfast; staff friendly and very helpful; moderate size rooms but shower only.

The Santa Chiara hotel was in an amazing location - perfect for being dropped off in Venice by the airport bus! It was close to the water bus stop that takes you around the grand canal to all the major sites. The cruise ship port was only 5 minutes by taxi. It was also close to some reasonable restaurants and market stalls. Rialto bridge and Piazza […] San Marco were only a short walk away (about 10 - 20 minutes if you walk slowly). The rooms were very comfortable, complete with a chandelier and my room had a nice view over the canal. Even though my room overlooked Piazzale Roma (the main bus station/transport hub for Venice) it was very quiet. Would highly recommend this hotel for travellers only staying for a few days or who are going on a cruise from venice. Les mer

Room was small but comfortable, breakfast was not spectacular but ok for the price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent, right across from the train stationand next to the bus and vaporetto stations which made it vary easy to get around. Would definitely recommend.

A very nice hotel. The breakfast was very good but the breakfast staff we had on two of the days was very slow to replenish the food. We had to wait for juice, milk, eggs, croissants each day and for a table to be cleaned. Great to have an outside area where you could sit and have a drink at your leisure. Our fridge didn't work and the airconditioning […] only just worked. The location was fantastic. Only one bridge to cross (!) to get there and the canal was right at our front door. Les mer

I recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to save money in expensive Venice without sacrificying confort. It is conviniently located to all forms of transportation so you do not have to drag your luggage around. If you are happy with a simple small clean room and do not mind walking around a safe but sketchy area at night; this hotel is for you.

The staff at Santa Chira was very responsive, polite and professional. The location was nice and VERY convenient to the train station and Marco Polo airport (take the number #5 city bus from the airport, not the vaparetto - much quicker, drops you off adjacent to the hotel, and costs abou 1/3 as much as the vaparetto). I would rate the facility itself […] as average. We had a family room and had reserved 2 double beds vice a double and two singles; however, when we arrived, we were given the room with a double and two single beds -- and the bathroom was not en suite, which is very inconvenient for a family of four. It was also extremely hot, as the A/C unit is extremely old -- to the point the hotel would be better served by replacing it with a newer unit, both for the comfort of their guests and their electric bill. While the beds were fine for the most part (one of the singles was very narrow, it squeaked and the springs were practically poking through), the pillows were very old and hard. The breakfast was not extensive, but it was overall nice and satisfying. In sum, top marks for the staff, OK marks for the facility. Les mer

It is situated 15 minute walk from station with old infrastructure. Breakfast buffet was Ok.

The hotel is just in Piazzale Roma. The good: 20 m from bus stops and vaporetto. The bad: noisy, no so pretty surroundings. The rooms are just OK, nice decoration but aged. The hotel staff is not specially efficient. We asked for a wake-up call at 5 am, to take an early morning plane, and none of the 3 rooms we were using received it. Fortunally in […] one room we used our cellular alarms and managed to get the plane, although rushing. We were charged 60 € for the transfer to the airport (4 people and luggage), booked in the hotel, which I think is too much. Check prices elsewere. I would advise this hotel if you have to take a plane the next day, as it is so close to the bus to the airport. Otherwise, ther must be better hotels in Venice. Les mer

Summary: good location (close to the train station, bus/taxi stop, and water bus station), not good for hot summer time as the AC is very weak, safe, right next to the Grand Canal, hotel rooms didn't meet my expectation (and I am not a picky person). Location is good: it's right next to the bus/taxi stop (the only land tranportation stop in Venice; […] you can't catch a taxi elsewhere in Venice as they do not allow cars in venice). Water bus station is right next to it. Train station is about 10 minutes walking (important if you are arriving/leaving Venice by train). As the hotel is right next to the Grand Canal, it can get noisy but it's ok if you close the windows. I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. The room I reserved was for 4 adults and the size is ok. The bathroom is small. the shower is small and you can barely move around in the shower. The room and the bathroom needs more light. The AC is almost non-existent. It was hot when I was there. I complained about the AC but no improvement. I almost moved out of that hotel after I checked in but I didn't want to waste the money I already paid and look and pay for other hotel rooms. The room is ok clean but we found few small bugs in the room. The area is safe. The staffs are helpful except for the weak AC. Towels are clean. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to visit Venice during hot weather time. If you are going there during winter time, I guess it's ok unless they do not have heater or if the heater is also weak. Les mer

A small hotel located at Piazzale Roma (mains bus station) in Venice. The exterior is not representative. The interior elegant and nice which also count for the personell. Excellent loaction regarding transport to and from Marco Polo airport. Shuttle bus every 30 min for a resonable price. Only 50 m walk from bus station to the hotel. For cruising tourist […] who catches cruisers sailing from Marittima cruise terminal, the People Mover (200 m walk from the hotel) makes it very easy to transport yourself to the cruising terminal. We where advised a room located in a separate building (200 m walk). The building is recently renovated and the rooms have very good space and comfort. Hotel personell helps you with the luggage. Unfortunately a view of the canals is not possible, but who stays in the hotel! The hotel is well recommended specially for cruising tourists who likes to spend a couple of days in Venice before or after the cruising. Les mer

Location is absolutely one of the best - close to train station, busses and ferries. Very quiet and no disturbing guests. The room is pretty good, but the shower is extremely small. Breakfast is poor. The fresh fruits are never fresh. They have been there forever and are rotten: Staff is not freindly; espcially the two elderly receptionists and the […] porter: The nighttime receptionist never answered when one said hello: It is easy to feel very unwelcomed in this hotel. The cleaning lady opened your room without knocking. If the location is not the only thing you care about, we highly recommend other hotels instead. Les mer

Geboekt naar aanleiding van het bekijken van beoordelingen van andere gasten.Absoluut een aanrader een top hotel op een zeer centrale lokatie in Venetie. Dicht bij de Vaporette, busstation en verschillende wijken. Voelde mij er veilig. Prima kamer, alleen de douchecabine was echt klein. Kiva hotelli, nätisti sisustettu, hyvä seisovan pöydän aamiainen. Saimme tulopäivänä isomman huoneen kuin mitä oli oletus varattaessa huonetta (huoneessa oli hintalista nimellä suite). Huone sijaitsi eri rakennuksessa kuin päärakennus - ei haitannut. Koneellinen ilmastointi huoneessa. Sijainti hyvä, bussiaseman ja vesibussiaseman vieressä. Ystävällinen […] palvelu. Suosittelen. Ideal si vous arrivez en famille et en voiture, car l'hotel a un parking et est situe a l'entree du Venise historique. Une remarque: petit dejeuner de qualite moyenne... Les familles sont logees dans un autre batiment a environ 300 metres de la reception de l'hotel (chambre plus spacieuse et familiale) ...

nous étion situés dans l'annexe qui est en retrait par rapport à la gar routière, et récente. Nous n'avons pas vu les chambres de l'hotel. Le pdj est copieux et l'hotel trés bien situé surtout quand on arrive car pas besoin de prendre le vaporetto pour s'y rendre. Accueil multilingue et chaleureux, chambres spacieuses, prestations de qualité

Cet hIotel est très bien situé et surtout très pratique si vous allez à Venise en voiture. Le prix est raisonnable pour la qualité. Tout le personnel est super sympa.
