Store fine rom. Hundre meter til Albert Dock. Eneste utsette noe på var frokosten som ikke var mye å skyte av.

Vi var veldig fornøyde med oppholdet igjen. Dette var 2. gang på 2 mnd vi var i liverpool på det samme hotellet, og vi har vært veldig fornøyde begge ganger. Fin bar/spiseomeråde og flott basseng med trenings rom.Selve rommene er veldig fine og passet oss helt perfekt.kort avstand til alle butikker/sentrum 3-5 min gåavstand.

Hotellvertinnen er perfekt, skiller seg ut med ekstra vennlighet, imøtekommenhet og omtanke. Veldig god service. Rolig strøk litt utenfor sentrum, busser og drosjer i umiddelbar nærhet. Vi skal tilbake til dette hotellet!

"Great for city centre but basic and outdated"
Great location but hotel is a little more basic than some other H I Express I have stayed in. Building is tired and has obviously just been tarted up a bit and had a holiday inn logo put on. Staff weren't great - one in particular was most unhelpful and rude. If you need somewhere cheap and basic then it's fine but I won't be using again.

We stayed for one night in April. Our room has a great view of the race course and although the hotel is close to a railway line we never heard a train. Our family room was nice and clean, although there was no bath - must admit I didn't read room description as it was a hasty last minute booking. The shower was great. Breakfast was disappointing. "The Oldest Racecourse in UK"
If you want to experience the grandeur of Chester the Holiday Inn Racecourse in Chester is the place. Great location, great staff, magnificent eating facility next door (the 1539) and just a terrific experience - next door to the Holiday Inn.
"horrible"
The fire alarm went off at 3AM causing the elevator and hot water to go off. We had to carry our bags down three flights of sta\irs, my husband had recently had back surgery. We hope nothing was reinjured. Having no hot water was very uncomfortable the next morning. We received no compensation or apology for this inconvenance. We would never stay there […] again. "Holiday Inn, Chester racecourse"
Excellent location, value for money. One small criticism was the absence of a room safe. Although available at reception for no extra charge it couldn't acomodate larger valuables, eg camera.

good location,very freindly staff. This looks to be a newly built hotel on the edge of the racecourse and about a 10 walk into the town centre.Good standard of accomodation,breakfast buffet very nice. I would recomend this hotel to anyone visiting Chester.

Nice hotel ,great location near to racecourse and city centre but our visit was spoilt completely by a group of 10 males who spent friday night running around the corridors for up to an hour making one hell of a din and on saturday night all congregated in the room next door to ours at 5am and spent the next two hours talking and smoking weed which […] filtered through into our room .We left the hotel at 7 am disgusted . "I would have rathered paid for a travelodge"
Looking from the outisde the hotel seems modern and new, but when you go inside its a different story. When we entered the hotel. The reception team were friendly. To go upstairs or in the lift! Its not very well signposted. when we entered the room. The bathroom was weird but generally clean. However the bedroom was worse. the sheets were very uncomfatable […] to sleep in and the base of the twin room beds had pee stains on the side of the bed. We did go down to reception. And waited for a while to complain, but hardly any staff seemed available. The windows were awful. Didnt really have a good night sleep at all... The only differance you had with this room to a travelodge in general was toletries and a cooked breakfast. The buffet breakfast was rather nice. But would certainly not recommend this hotel to anyone. Les mer
"Decent budget hotel but with a few disappointments"
I am a fan of budget hotels like HIE. They offer a guaranteed level of comfort for unfussy people who just want a safe and comfortable place to stay without paying through the nose. NIE Chester racecourse did the job well but there were a few little niggles. The cups in our room were not washed correctly and were sticky with marks on them. There were […] also coffee splash marks up one of the walls. Finally, and probably most importantly for us, was the poor qality of the breakfast. It was VERY basic and there were far too many people trying to access what was on offer. I gave up after a while of people pushing and shoving and decided to sit down and wait for the queue to go down, it didn't. In the end we settled for less than we wanted and decided to skip the toast as the queue for the toaster was ridiculous. We also found the sausages to be of a really poor quality and because this was the only meat on the cooked breakfast it was the only choice. Finally, the orange juice machine dispensed a really awful juice that was watered down and had no taste at all. We would probably stay here again becuase it was generally a very pleasant hotel in a great location, we just wanted a better breakfast and a slightly higher standard of housekeeping in the rooms. "Best Hotel for Years"
I regularly use hotels in my current position and most fail on at least two or three points, and I am a stickler for quality & service travelling around the country. I see lots of reviews only when things go wrong with hotel stays and feel compelled to state that this was the best hotel I have stayed in for quite few years. Free Parking, Breakfast, […] Five minutes walk from the centre of Chester and 10% off bar drinks when we signed up for the rewards scheme all helped to make this a very pleasant stay. An Example of the service we recieved was that we asked for an ironing board and two minutes later the head of room service personally delivered it to our room at 7am !!, what more can you ask. Good size rooms, clean and comfortable, a nice easy walk into the main part of town. Breakfast was certainly good enough to start the day. A decent secure parking area,was right next to the hotel, there was no charge for this.

The room was very small for 3 people- there was a double bed and a sofa bed, but no floor space at all! Also, there was no hot water on the first evenig- so I had to endure a freezing cold shower! Breakfast was also very basic. Great location made up for these downfalls.

Excellent but quiet location very close to the great shopping and sight seeing. Hotel is pretty good as well with views over the racecourse and the city.

The hotel was fine but other guests, a hen party, were making noise until 4am shouting laughing and slamming doors, staff asked them to keep it down at 1am, they did not comply and nothing further was done.

This hotel is well situated for the centre of Chester and includes excellent parking facilities. The room we had was comfortable without being ostentatious and we managed to secure an excellent rate.

Stayed here twice now. It's very central to Chester with a two minute walk to the walls & beyond and is very reasonably priced. Bonus is parking for free and a good buffet breakfast. Will be coming back again in the summer.

Very polite and courteous staff at check in. Room on the small side, but had everything we wanted. Good hotel location just 5 mins walk to the centre of Chester. Although breakfast is avaliable until 10:00 weekday mornings, it starts to get packed away from 09:45 - don't be late!

"First Experience with HolidayInn Express - Chester"
On first entering the room, something was not right, the room did not feel fresh and clean. Stains on the curtains and carpet. Okay then how about the bathroom, one of the most important aspects of your hotel room? Appaulling, the shower curtain should have been white but had a pinky/orange/mouldy colour which covered the hem of the shower curtain The […] toilet seat had not been cleaned and had a fasces and urine stains on it. Lifting the toilet seat was not much better, it needed cleaning. The toilet bowl was stained from the previous user. Where the water came out of the toilet when it flushes, it was the same colour as the shower curtain. The grab rails next to te toilet where speckled and dusty. The wash basin was not much cleaner and the water overflow in the wash basin was brimming with mould. As the bathroom was such a disgusting mess which had obviously not been cleaned , we thought what state is the bedding in. No surprises there. On pulling the duvet back, the sheet looked clean but we could see stains under the sheet. On pulling the sheet back the mattress cover had a lot of blood on it. That was the last straw, my husband complained to the receptionist who apologised, and a lady in the back office changed our room. On going to the new room the corridor on the third floor had a odour of ?? could not think what the odour was. Our new room was slightly better, there was no soap in the soap dispenser, the overflow in the wash basin was black mould and the shower curtain was the same as in the first room. Also three of the lights did not work in the room so we had a soft, dark, romantic mood?? The mattress cover was better than the first but do certain stains wash out of the mattress covers as on this one it had apparently not. Breakfast was ok but we have had better. The English breakfast consisted of sausages and scrambled eggs. There was a choice of cereals, tinned grapefruit, yoghurts, bread/toast and the usual drinks. located next to the racecourse, lots of short people who smoke alot. Clean, quiet and suitable room. a bit of a walk form the train station but it is through town so got to check it out before we went back to explore. Easy access to the city wall and locks.
