Hotell som lå utenfor downtown, noe vi visste ved bestilling men ikke noe problem så lenge man har bil. Lå ved hovedveien sør til Calgary. God service og var så heldige at vi fikk stor suite (hadde betalt for vanlig rom), noe vi ikke oppdaget før vi fikk rommet. Vakkert oppusset fellesområder som restaurant, resepsjon og oppholdsrom i moderne stil med […] indianerpreg (vakkert). God mat og service på restauranten. our stay would have been better, if when we called to the front desk for a extra blanket for my son that was sleeping on hida bed. The said they were out of blanket. so my son was cold most of the night.

I had asked for a room on the front, not on the side of the train, but when I arrived, they could not give me a room, but said they would would block one off for me. I had business to do for the day, so when I checked in later, they had put me in a handicaped room, with only one queen, & a pullout chesterfield bed. I had requested 2 queens, & so was […] not happy with that room, & when I said that it had been my concern all along that something like that would happen, & that we would have an issue with it. The clerk said, yes well, there will be issues, cause we are fully booked tonite. I knew that before, & that was why I was concerned about the blocking off of a room for me & my daughter. In any case they managed to put us in a room on the north side of the hotel, close to the train, & it worked out. The halls , & rugs need some upgrading, believe they must be in the midst of a reno. Overall, once the problem of the room assignment was solved, we did enjoy the hotel. The restaurant was good, & very handy to have in the hotel. Parking on site, a bonus. Les mer

nice except for the train

The hotel staff was very good and our room was nice and clean. The furniture is a little dated, but we were only there to sleep and rest after a busy day of visiting friends and shopping in Edmonton. Served our needs and wants well.

This hotel served our purposes for the stay. It was a little akward to get into as it is situated on a one way street, but if you timed your approach, it worked out okay. The hotel personnel were very pleasant.

This is my second time staying with Sawridge Inn, and very much enjoy my stay at this location. I use the hotels shuttle service from and to the airport and was very pleased with the driver and services offered.Also the menu selection and quality of food was excellent.the lounge and resturant quite comfort and relaxing,in my opinion it's what traveler […] both business and pleasure want in a hotel.I can say that sawridge hotel has the right idea when operating their hotel properties. Pretty good overall. Wished I could have had a continental breakfast or something included, though the apples on the front desk were a nice touch. Very clean room, but not very convenient for entering when approaching from the north.

We always stay at this hotel. The rooms are great, resturaunt has an awesome menue and service is exceptional. Just a great place to relax, highly recommend this hotel.

We have never been disappointed with our stay at the Sawridge as we have stayed here numerous times. It is centrally located, close to restaurant & shopping centers. It is very clean & comfortable. Would highly recommend the Sawridge.

If a hotel guest is situated to the back or side closest to the train tracks, they will be awakened frequently during the night.

Hotel was average, once we check in we found no fridge in the room so I went down the hall to get some ice every ice machine was out of order. Couldn't even have a cold drink. Hotel was very busy with a young people as they were at a hockey tourament. Probably won't stay their again!!

I've stayed here several times and will do so again.

The hotel is situated right next to the train tracks, and I mean, within 30 feet of the train tracks, the train ran 4-5 times per night, shaking the hotel, our room vibrated and woke us up every time and the noise sounded like the train would then come through your walls of your room. We had trouble with the neighboring rooms also. It was embarrassingly […] noisy. If you were wanting a nice quiet room, this is not the hotel for you. Also of note, we asked for a room with two queen beds. We got two beds in two separate spaces within our room with 1 TV in one room and not enough chairs/seating room to accompany 4 people so only 2 people were really allowed to watch TV at a time which really sucks if you are wanting to gather with your family and watch a movie. We were unable to be a family in the way the room was set up. It was not like the picture when you see two queen beds. The room was too expensive for what you got. Les mer

Very nice staff.Washrooms need some updateing.

The hotel has an excellent restaurant and prepares superior gluten free selections. Many of the ingredients are locally grown, supporting local producers. The soap and shampoo are produced locally and are of excellent quality.

The staff was exceptionally pleasant and efficient. Entering the premises from traffic was easy. There were a variety of restaurants within walking distance. The bathroom needed updating.

I stay there often and as usual everything was fine, I checked in late in the evening so didn't have time to eat in the lounge or restaurant where I know the food and prices are excellent. I reccomend this hotel to anyone who's looking for a great place to stay, very reasonable price too for what you get.

We booked a suite, believing it would be in better condition than the rest of the hotel. It was not. The suite was located above/next to the hotels laundry facilities and overlooked the interior restaurant/lounge area. This resulted in endless noise all night. At 6:30am loud music began to blare from the lounge area while staff prepared for the day. […] As for the room, awful. It was unclean, dated, uncomfortable. Location although convenient to the South Gateway Blvd/#2 is located adjacent to the rail line. Spare yourselves and book at the Fairmont, Hotel Matrix, The Bank etc.... as prices are comparable. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms and convenient location at a great price. The dining room is also excellent, with delicious locally-sourced menu offerings...and the Royal Doulton china is a lovely luxurious touch! Highly recommended.

I have slept in softer beds then this one , all in all we enjoy staying here because it is a pet friendly hotel with reasonable pet rates

My Nephew had their wedding and reception at the Sawridge. Very nice overall. Rooms were really nice, clean and comfortable. Definitely I would stay again and recommend it. Check in/out was easy and overall a great stay.

Fabulous beds and pillows....sink was a little old....but everything else was great including the peppermint shampoo etc that helped with my partner's headache. Due to construction at one end, the parking was a bit limited, but a really nice experience overall.

Would stay again if ever in Edmonton

The hotel was clean, the service was top notch, the food was fantastic and was close to the downton area that we wanted to be in!

From the exterior of the hotel it looked great, and even the entrance of the lobby and dining area looked great. But once we headed down the hotel room hallway it drastically changed, could smell old cigarette and mildew smell, walls and room doors very aged and dirty. Once in the room it appeared fairly clean but again it had the faint smell of being […] an old smoking wing and the smell of backed up sewage from the washroom. Washroom/shower was very aged and ceiling tiles had some mold on them. Called for room service at 10pm and was told that they were closing early so after travelling all day back from vacation we were unable to get a meal because the kitchen decided to close early. So after watching tv for a bit turned out lights and then realized that the hotel was not very sound proof as every train that went by the rear of the hotel sounded like it was coming through the room. Overall not a pleasant stay and would not recommend this hotel. Les mer

No regrets!! Stayed for a week. Food is good. Staff are friendly and willing to work with you. Rooms are spacious. The hotel is currently under renovations but they didn't hinder us from going about our day. Definitely would stay again.

Everything was great. We suspect the reason we got such a good rate was our sink was in bad shape (only aesthetically) (cracked and stained) Other than that everything was great.

It's nice and renovated. Decent breakfast buffer for 12$. Book direct and you can negociate the bf with the room. I stay numerous time at this hotel, but first time by booking with hotels.com. I didn't have the luxury to choose the room location. If you want to stay there, make sure you ask for the west side of the building. The trains make your room […] shaking and is pretty noisy all night. Not pedestrian friendly - no sidewalk because it's facing a freeway. There's Red Lobster and Olive's Garden close, but it's a hassle to get accross the freeway (worst in winter with the snow banks). Great Free Shuttle service if the driver is not sick...if you complain they might give you a discount on the room for the taxi rate I had to pay for. Les mer

This is probably the best hotel that that I have ever stayed at. When you walk in the decor is beautiful and then your greated with friendly knowledgable staff. The rooms are big, clean, comfortable and most of all quiet if your on the side facing gateway blvd. The resterant is a bit pricey but the food is very good. I would defintally recommend this […] hotel for anyone visiting Edmonton. I should also mention that if you have kids that like the water this hotel hs no pool. Les mer

Covenient location, excellent service, in the process of upgrades to rooms

I'd like to commend the housekeeping staff that they helpfully reminded us that our door was not closed properly when we were out. This hotel's service is definitely 5-stars. Don't be fooled by the looks outside. The inside of the hotel has a huge covered courtyard. Rooms facing the courtyard are very quiet. My family and I stayed for two nights at the Sawridge Inn. This was our first time staying there. We had a very nice stay. The room was a bit small but we enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Sawridge was a very nice hotel in an excellent location. It was very clean and my husband and I thought it was perfect for what we needed. The only thing we both agreed on was that the bathroom in our room needed of renovation. But other than that, we were very pleased with this hotel and will definately book there again.

Our stay at the Sawridge: 1) We were greeted at front desk by a clerk while another lady was talking on the telephone to call in another staff member due to a shortage. She was a bit flustered and advised us that their computer system was down and gave me a form to fill out with our registration information etc. I was hoping for a speedy check-in, […] but stuff happens. Okay. 2) As we made our way past the lovely main lobby area and it's impressive water and fire displays, I was hoping to see the same attention to detail reflected in the rooms. Unfortunately, this was not the case. All down the hallway, the fronts of the room-doors were grimy with fingerprints, right up to our room, located at the farthest possible point from the elevator. 3) Our room (201) was split up into two rooms, a queen bed on one, windowless side, then a hall, then the other queen bed in the main room with the tv. We were hoping to watch a movie once each of us was in bed. This might work for people travelling that want individualized privacy, though. 4) You WILL hear the train screaming by. I didn't think this would bother me, but it's louder than I expected - especially at 3am. It goes by FAST and LOUD. 5) The bathroom had some lovely conditioner and soap, however, it is very outdated and there was dirt on the wall, stains on the floor, a big long crack in the sink, and the beginnings of mold on the roof. No proper bathroom ventilation, despite a continual loud HUM sound from behind the wall, and the one grate for air (?), located behind the bathroom door, was absolutely gross with lint & fuzzies stuck all over it. The bottom of the tub had some diagonal stripes of glue residue from a long-gone tub mat. Housekeeping and Maintenance sure didn't do their job in here. 6) The beds were comfy and supportive! I confess to checking for bugs, based on the bathroom, but found none and slept well until the train went by. 7) Overall, the 42" television was the main feature of our room, and, while Les mer

I found that there were no hand bars in the bathtub to pull yourself up and out. There was no handle of any kind and I am not disabled or old and out of shape.
