Vi bodde 5 dager på dette hotellet. Rommet har atkomst fra svalgang og er av vanlig amerikansk standard. Hotellet er beliggende i annen rekke fra stranden, litt langt mot nord, men med hyggelige omgivelser. Bassenget er lite for voksne, men ok for mindre barn. Rommet inneholder mikrobølgeovn og kjøleskap, men det er dårlige muligheter for å spise på rommet.

Det var stor forsell på rommene vi fikk. Det ene var ok på alle måter, mens det andre hadde en inngangsdør som så vidt lot seg åpne og lukke. Og i gangen var det litt dårlig lukt, samt at det ikke var særlig varmt på badet. Rommene er utstyrt med lokalt aircondisionagregat, og dtte medfører endel støy. Videre virker restaurant og bar "litt kalde" og ikke så alt for trivelige. Et pluss for gode senger og masse puter for dem som liker dette.

Hotellet har en fin beliggenhet nede ved sjøkanten og i direkte forbindelse med et fint gangsystem langs bryggene, og samtidig nært til Norfolks trivelige bysentrum. Betjeningen er hyggelig og hjelpsom.

"close to everything including beach, but noisy"
the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. When hairdryer wasn't working someone was there within 5 minutes to fix it. Room was clean but someone forgot to clean in between 2-day stay. Said that is not the norm when I complained. Close to beach and many restaurants and attractions but there is also a bar next to it that plays its music pretty loudly. the staff was very friendly and helpful. to go shopping we had to drive a little ways but not far. we were close to the beach. it was quite. the vending machines were lacking they only had 1 drink machine and it only had diet drinks the other drinks were out the whole time we were there. no snack machines.

Sonif you have a dog and need a place to keep them while you don't really spend time in your room then this is the place. We stayed one night and it was fine. It is not near atlantic ave which is the main strip but it is very close to the beach and a bunch of bars. It was easy in and easy out.
Was acceptable for one night and the price. They advertise a breakfast- that was laughable. They have prepackaged mini muffins and orange juice flavored water- not orange juice. I did not even attempt the coffee.

Hotel is very close to the beach!It is accross the street from lots of bars as well. It was just a place for us to sleep for the 3 nights we stayed. We chose this hotel because we wanted to bring our Yorkie with us. Beware--the price you get through hotels.com does not include the pet fee they charge you when you get there. "Not much bang for your buck"
I stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend for a Wedding that was happening down the street. The rooms were smoking so they smelled horrible. Our shower curtain broke the first day and was never repaired. On the upside, if you need a cheap place to stay with no luxury amenities, this is the place. Dated . Room was clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Bathroom shower rod hung precariously but did not fall. Responded quickly to complaints. 300 yards to the bay which seemed more like a private beach.

the only the bad things i can say about this hotel it needs a little renovation. Airconditioning was so loud it makes so much noise and you would not be able to sleep b/c of the noise. There is a bar club next door so you hear the noise/music. "Good place, worth the money"
It stood up to the Earthquake, so we were happy!, nice beach location, not crowded,like "VA Beach" kind of private, easy to walk to, close to fishin pier, but was way too expensive to fish from, but did catch some fish. You get what you pay for at this hotel. The room was ridiculous, the A/C had no cover on it. It keep us up at night because of the rattling noise. The breakfast consisted of packaged honey buns and muffins that you would get out of a vending machine. The shower curtain ripped out of the wall when I opened it. "It's appropriately priced for what it offers"
I read some bad reviews about the hotel but it was a little better than I thought. It's conveniently located near Chesapeake Bay, but after trying it once I switched to the main beach, even though I had to drive about 20 minutes to get there. This hotel is below average and that was evident from it's appearance when I arrived. My room had air conditioning, […] cable tv, a microwave and a safety deposit box. "TRAVEL BAY LODGE JUST SAY NO!"
THIS PLACE WAS VERY CLOSE TO THE BEACH BUT WAS RUNDOWN, SMELLED HORRIBLY, FILTHY. SHELL OUT AN EXTRA TWENTY OR THIRTY BUCKS A NIGHT AND STAY SOME PLACE DECENT!! THIS MIGHT BE OK FOR A SINGLE MAN OR TEENAGERS ON SPRING BREAK BUT THATS IT!
Nice location - walking distance to the beach. The front desk operator was very friendly and accomodating. We came early and she allowed us to check in early. Wish they have more selections for breakfast, like cereal, or bagel perhaps.
This hotel needs to be updated, the bed sheets and pillow cases very dingy. hotel not very clean. nice area but owner should maintain it better. The sofabed in my room was broken. never will stay there again

"It's Alright"
The hotel room is small but has everything you need if your just using it to sleep and shower. You have to go to the office to borrow the iron and ironing board. The beach is behide the hotel which made it very accessible to go for a swim. Its about 10-15 mins drive from the popular area of Atlantic Ave. But the beach is very quiet and private. It was a great place to stay, clean, quiet, convenient, staff was great. It is a short walk to the beach. It is a great place, especially for the money. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel then come off some of your money and go to a 5 star hotel, don't come here expecting the W.

I dropped something on the floor and accidentally saw under the bed when I went to pick it up. Under the bed, I found a bra, a used condom wrapper, an empty bottle of orange juice, a cookie wrapper and a ton of dust. When I told the front desk, she apologized and offered to clean it up. My opinion is that kind of mess calls for a free night. The motel […] is next door to a bar that plays live music, so expect some noise and if you're female, you don't want to stay there alone. "Promise, but downhill from there"
So There are 2 T-lodges in VB. One ocean front and one bay front. One has actual employees who have common sense and reasoning, the other, it lacks greatly. It took forever to check in, beds were lumpy and I can sleep in booter racks and be happy, so that stands for something if it bothers my back.

The room has very old carpet that left a odor. The refrigerator was not working. After I informed them twice about this it was not fix or replace. Very small parking lot. There were several time there was no ice, thank God I had a cooler.

The location was perfect. Quiet and away from all the noise and crowds. The bed was absolute terrible we only stayed two nights and could not sleep a wink. They need to invest in new beds and take out some furniture the room was to crowded to have two tables. The room could use a make over and clean over.

There was a dirty sock left under the bed, the toilet in the bathroom made a loud noise for about 15 minutes after you flushed, and we were placed directly next to a couple that was shouting and arguing until 3 a.m. This hotel was atrocious and I will never stay there again.

"Great for the Price"
Nice staff. We showed up a few hours early and they allowed us to check-in early. Entrance to the beach right down the block. If you are looking for a residential feel, this is the place. If you want the boardwalk, it isn't far but you need to drive there.

There were no ashtrays in my smoking room. The tv didn't work so I had to change rooms.. The freezer compartment of the refrigerator was frozen solid. The hem of the curtain was raveling There was a hole in the bedspread. The shower curtain was hung backwards. There were burn marks in the desk. The desk chair was wobbling. "Could have been better"
Staff was very friendly hotel convienent to pier where we were going but he room left alot to be desired. Counter in bathroom had something all over it the TV looked as if it had been dropped and it was suppose to be a 1 King Size bed they had to move us due to bad carpet in other room. "Travel Lodge Bay side - very nice area"
Very close to every thing, Could rent a bike and get to every place you would like to see within minutes. I had a great stay and will be back in the future. Ocean was a great sight and a nerve calmer.

I stayed at the Travelodge Bay Beach for one night. It was okay for one night in a pinch but you can definitely do better. The check in was fine and uneventful, but the room itself was very old and needed to be upgraded. The telephone didn't work at all when I first get into the room and neither did the complimentary internet. When I brought these two […] things to the attention of the guy at the front desk he worked hard to resolve both problems, where were fixed eventually. The shower and bathroom were okay I guess, nothing special, but definitely not bad. The bed on the other hand was sagging significantly in the center and needed to be replaced. The hotel is adjacent to a beach, but is still a bit of a drive from the main area of Virginia Beach. I guess for what we paid it was okay, but I doubt I would stay there again. Les mer
"Pleasant Surprise!"
I have been going to VA. Beach since the 1970's as a kid on family vacations. This year I booked this Travelodge and was really surprised. I had never stayed in the northern part of Virginia Beach but it's really nice. This hotel is a short walk to what the locals call "Chicks" beach and this is right beside Lynnhaven Inlet. The waves aren't real big […] on this beach but it's perfect for families. Not crowded and I was really surprised how nice this section is for families. Check out this part of Va. Beach as there are great restaurants and a great beach. Les mer
