Econo Lodge Southeast Milwaukie/Portland - Milwaukie

Convenient location for our purpose, but on a very busy street. I was worried about noise, but room was in the back and surprisingly quiet. Clean, well-maintained, no complaints. A very well managed budget accommodation.

The location of the hotel was conviently located near our destination and it had a lot of places to eat nearby. I didn't like that my room was a stand alone room around the upstairs corner off in the dark and the door had no peep hole like all the other doors did. The guy running it was somewhat pleasant, but complained that there were so many of us […] booked there that night that he would have a lot of laundry to do once we left (you would think that if you barely have 3 rooms occupied on a regular weekend and our group had most of the rooms booked, he would be happy!) Also, I'm used to staying at hotels that have a variety of complimentary breakfast items, not just muffins and bagels. Other than that, the rooms were decent, nice sized, and they provided microwaves and mini refrigerators. No iron/ironing board. I had to check out a mini one from the front desk. Les mer

Hard beds. Everything else was fne. 2nd stay and the beds were still hard. will go elsewhere next time for that reason only.

It was a fine place to stay for the night. You need to ask for a hair dryer at the front desk if you didn't bring one. There was a jacuzzi tub in our suite, but nobody told us about the timer on the wall, so we didn't find it operative. Would have been nice if someone had told us how to operate it. We were surprised at how nice our room in this basic, no-frills hotel was, especially at such a reasonable cost. Our room was very clean, pleasant and comfortable, and even though we were on a busy road it was quiet so our sleep was undisturbed. The staff was courteous and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

The room was large, clean, and in good shape. The man at the front desk was EXTREMELY rude and unwelcoming. During check-in, I requested a room closest to the wireless internet hotspot since I work on the go. He just gives me a very rude stare, and says flatly, "Wi-Fi". Okay, so apparently he doesn't understand English that well, and doesn't care to […] be nice about it. Throughout check-in he was very short mannered, rude, and had quite the grumpy face. There were 3 of us from California staying in the room, and my friend from Vancouver met us at the hotel in the morning where we were to depart for breakfast at a local cafe. My friend from Vancouver came inside our room and helped us carry our things to our car. When I went to check-out, the same grumpy man said to me in the most rude tone and face: "So there were 4 adults in the room?" I said "What? No. He just met us here, we're leaving to go to breakfast." Him, matter-of-factly: "So 4 people stayed in the room last night." Me: "Noo... He just pulled up, didn't you see his car drive in 10 minutes ago?" Him: "So how many adults in the room last night?" Me, aggravated at his insistence on being rude: "There were 3 of us in the room, just like I put on all the paperwork. He is meeting us here are we are leaving for breakfast in Portland. He did-not-stay-here last night." He just stands there with a rude scowl on his face, then looks down at his desk, waves towards the door, shoeing me away. RUDE! Les mer

Excellent stay from beginning to end! It would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room, but other than that it was a perfect stay!

My business made arrangements with the manager to pay for my room after I had booked it online. The manager agreed to credit my account and then give the same rate for two extra days to my employer. Instead they double billed for the room charging me and the employer siting that the room was more expensive because I requested nonsmoking. I had called ahead to let them know that I would be arriving around midnight for a late check in, and was assured that all I had to do was ring the night bell. After rining the bell I was greeted by a grumpy individual who barely spoke English and did not make me feel like a welcome guest. He gave me my key and then walked away without another word. […] Also, the parking lot didn't have enough spaces to accomodate everyone so I ended up parking on the main street. I visit my brother in Portland frequently and always stay at this motel. The staff is friendly, the beds are comfy, the rooms are clean and there's a small swimming pool and hot tub! What could be better? I'm sure I'll be back many times in the future...

This Hotel was nothing special. The carpets looked dirty. There was a used Kleenex under my bed. There "so called" continental breakfast was ONLY coffee, juice, English muffins, and Otis Spunk chocolate chip muffins-that's it. When my son went to get me coffee the owner started yelling at him, "where you come from"? And he had to give his room number. […] Like really-who would want to steel a muffin and a coffee from there. There was no coffee maker in the room or no hair dryer. There was very little parking so if you don't get there in time, you have to park out in the road somewhere. Les mer

Room smelled of stale smoke but it was listed as smoking room. They did not have a non smoking option. Room was clean otherwise. Pool was open and well maintained. Location was convenient for us.

Good location, economical, and well maintained. I noticed that the room temperature was just right; I didn't have to adjust anything. The water for the shower came on strong and hot. There were plenty of nice layers on the bed, clean and not skimpy like some other motels. I felt safe as a single woman guest. I took advantage of the bagels and coffee […] every morning and was greeted by a pleasant desk attendent. I would highly recommend this Econo Lodge. Les mer

Staying from Oct 6 - Oct 8. After a long day drive and activities (totaling 18 hours), we checked in at around 11:00pm. The attendant (possibly the owner) dressed in his pajamas came out to greet and handed me the room key. We have reserved a 2 Queen Suite, the room was dark even with all the lights on. The general condition was old, carpet was old, […] decor was old, beds were old, everything just seems old. There were two TVs, one by the sitting room, another by the sleeping area. There was a microwave and a small fridge. No utensils or any other kitchen wares. After settling in, we called the reception (around 11:25pm) and trying to get an extra blanket and pillow. The same attendant picked-up the call after a few rings and he simply said, we are closed, come to the reception tomorrow morning for the blanket and pillows. I know this is Econo Lodge, but still, I want to sleep now, not tomorrow morning. When I went to pick-up the blanket in the morning, the same attendant (this is why I think he is the owner) ask me to go into their supplies room (behind the reception desk) to pick up the blanket and pillow. He can't even bring it out to the reception desk. At the same time, he kept on asking me whether we needed our room clean. They don't even want to clean up the room!! Another problem is that their doors are too heavy and their walls are too thin. Whenever someone walk in/out of their room, the door will just slam shut and the whole building shake. Les mer

This hotel is located on a busy street with many car lots, shops and other small motels. I was pleasantly surprised to be placed in a suite, which included a jacuzzi. There were two tv's and two phones in the room, as well as a small refrigerator and two microwaves! There is also a pool. The breakfast was very minimal. OK overall but the front desk staff could be more friendly, the breakfast food could be fresher, and more than 3 shower towels should be available for a four person room.

Had come to visit my folks, hotel was close otherwise probably wouldn't stay here. Not really a family motel. I work construction and am on the road a lot. This would be a motel I'd stay at if working. Rooms were clean enough, staff was kinda rude, breakfast was nothing but muffins. Price was ok, but you could do better.

The bed was so hard I could not get a full nights sleep. The bed was as hard as the floor. Other than the bed, the motel was very clean and the staff was very friendly.

Very spacious room in a well-maintained facility. We had a king room and enjoyed the space and layout. There is a partial wall separating the table and "kitchenette" area. The fridge and microwave would be adequate for a quick meal although there are several good restaurants nearby. The indoor pool and hot tub were great too. The carpet was shabby and not clean around the edges. The fridge kept freezing everything. Road noise was very loud.

The manager was rude and not very helpful or kind. He said if we wanted to have a guest come to see us, we had to go through him first. I'm a woman and he didn't even acknowledge me. Was not a good experience.

Very clean, pleasant hosts - would stay theere again. Minimal breakfast, and no coffee in rooms. However, one of the cleanest motels we have stayed if for some time.

The room was great as always. Checkin was easy and fast. Two things I would change. Check in time should be earlier like 1:00 or 2:00, and I think there should be a coffee pot in the room as well as a DVD player.

Six nights in this hotel with a comfortable room and standard continental (bagels, English muffins, cooffee and juice), was for us a good Hotels.com value. You'll need a car, but it's only 45 minutes to Portland airport, with lots of shopping (e.g. Clackamas Outlet Mall), groceries, and restaurants nearby. We paid just $4 extra for a suite and really loved the extra space as we were travelling with 2 children. The second TV was a bonus as was the fridge and microwave oven. The location was a little outside Portland but if the area suits you then then this location is easy to get to. The desk clerk was nice enough but bland english muffins and white bagels, a very flimsy plastic knife for spreading grape jelly and butter, do not a continental breakfast make.
