"Fint hotell for barnefamilier"
Fint hotell med store bungalower i flotte omgivelser. Rommene er store,med sofa og flatskjerm, men møblementet er noe slitt. Badet er stort men bærer preg av noe slitasje. Var en del plaget med småmaur i dusjen og ved toalettet. Hotellet ligger spredt ut over et stort naturskjønt område. Frokostbuffet er fantastisk, stort utvalg for enhver smak. Dessverre […] er de resterende restaurantene og maten en skuffelse. Maten vi bestilte ved bassenget var ekstremt smakløs, små porsjoner og dyr i forhold til kvalitet. Ved en anledning spiste vi på den indiske restauranten og maten her var god, men dessverre folketom. Møblementet ved baren er særdeles slitt og trenger en oppgradering. Når det er sagt er servicen på hotellet fantastisk, Her møter man ekte malaysisk gjestfrihet på sitt beste. Fin standard på rommene, effektiv transport mellom rom og hovedbygning med buss. Personalet gjennomgående hyggelig og serviceminded. God frokostbuffet, og gode restauranter. Hotellet ligger litt isolert, men det skal være mulig å spise billigere på uavhengige restauranter i nærheten. Bassenget er pent og rent, og ligger rett ved stranden. Dessverre […] er ikke vannet helt klart. Det er flere små strender som er svært vakre, men ikke så lett å bade på pga grumsete vann. "Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort - Paradis"
Et utrolig bra hotell! Når man kommer dit, har de en vakt som står og sjekker bilen du kommer i før man slippes inn på området. Deretter blir du møtt av noen som åpner bildøren for deg og tar bagasjen din. I resepsjonen blir du alltid tatt vel i mot og alle ansatte smiler og hilser på deg. Rommet vi bodde i hadde garden view, og var kjempefint. Siden […] rommene består av noe som ligner på hytter, kjører det interne biler rundt området hele tiden, så man trenger ikke å gå om man ikke vil. Nydelig natur rundt på området. Basseng med pool-bar, og privat strand like ved. Ville aper på området som er fantastiske å se på. Må bare si at dette var et drømmehotell og vi ville absolutt ha anbefalt dette til andre reisende! The location of this hotel is superb, with plenty of space on the beach below the hotel. This is actually a quite nice place to getaway from it all, being so quiet and remote. The Hotel buildings are quite nice designed and it is bad the maintenance management has not been better. The staff is friendly but REactive instead of PROactive i.e. We had […] to remind the cleaners to dust the room and wash under the beds - shouldn't be necessary at a place like this. Also, when they charge RM 50 for a pasta dish, you do not expect it to be reheated. But it was. In general, the food was overpriced and of rather mediocre quality. The thing is, that Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort can be a perfect place with just some small adjustments and improvements (staff training, maintenance and food). "Bra hotell men ikke verdt pengene"
Dette er et fint hotell men er ikke verdt pengene og det er dyrt å bo/leve der. Frokost på hotellet koster det samme som på et bra norsk hotell. Lunsj og middag ligger også på et helt annet nivå enn ellers i Malaysia. Det er 3 restauranter på hotellet som alle er OK, men skal man spise et annet sted må man ta taxi. Hotellet ligger som sagt litt øde. Vi […] hadde leilighet med sjøutsikt og daglig besøk av 10-15 apekatter. Det er et rikt dyreliv der med fugler, apekatter og firfisler. Rommet var godt vedlikeholdt, men gammelt. Slipper man å forholde seg til feriebudsjett og liker å være for seg selv og bare slappe av innenfor hotellområdet kan det anbefales. Men personlig vil jeg ikke anbefale dette. Generelt litt skuffa da jeg hadde veldig store forventninger til Langkawi og hotellet. Les mer

Should encourage guests to use the beach near the hotel more and make it a better place to hang out. Please check the air conditioning of the rooms. That was the only let down for me.

In all honest i really don't know where to begin. The lack of care and customer service is present from the moment you check in. The rooms are dirty with plenty of cob-webs all around and off-course; let me not forget the friendly cockroach that ran up me leg at night. The bed sheet are not changed . I know this because soon after our checking in, I […] went to sleep and there was plenty of sand on the bed sheet. We had four rooms and in 3 out of 4 rooms the beds had sand in them!!! The floor were sandy, sticky and felt as if they were not cleaned for months (I guess they wanted to bring the beach to us). One could say that a now and then miss is acceptable, but as I mentioned we had four rooms and this was occurring in all our rooms. Dining was another experience. In the Feast Restaurant: DO NOT ORDER THE PIZZA (it is plain tomato sauce of top of bread and scarcely covered with cheese and tomato slices. In the Captain's Grill: The view is majestic, simply to die for from the outside. From the inside the same view is available, but you will need to look through several layers of grease and dirt that hangs on the beautiful floor to ceiling glass windows. DO NOT ORDER THE STEAK; they will overcook it and even burn the first .5-1 cm of the meat for you. And should you chose to dine in, plan on calling them 2 hours ahead and on re-calling them 2-3 times so they don't forget your order. If you order a hot item; it will arrive cold. If you order a cold item; it will arrive warm. The prices for food is not bad, what is bad is the food itself. So in essence, we paid for bad food that progressively worsened.. What made our dining worse some more was the fact the Sheraton langkawi is so far away from a decent restaurant that it is difficult to go. I guess they know this and that is possible why they don't care. You literally have not choice but to pay decent prices for poor quality food!! What a well priced awesome Hotel it catered for both family and individual needs, kids loved the play area, fantastic food, great friendly humble service, always helpful....Loved the Hotel amazing experience and not to forget the magical hands in the SPA.... Rooms were not cleaned properly before we moved in, mini bar and tea/coffee not always refilled, Internet modem did not work and was not repaired for 2 days, Jacuzzi did not work and was not fixed during all our stay-6days, Sofas in lobby are dirty with traces of juice etc.
Nice hotel but very old and need a big renovation, for a sheraton, very bad
"Not worthy"
The Food sent via Room Service was horrible. The breakfast was not good though a lot of spreads were there. All dishes were cold though placed in warmer pots. Very disappointed with the food of the Restaurants.

We recently stayed at Sheraton Beach Resort in Langkawi Good 1. Staff is pleasant and welcoming 2. Well spread out resort with a lot of natural beauty Bad 2. Rooms are old, the property is aging 3. There was a lizard in my room:( 4. Small beach 5. The food was nothing great

The hotel is in a nice secluded location with many interesting private bays and walking bridges. However, the photos are deceptive in that they show a long beach which does not exist at this hotel. That was a little disappointing. The breakfasts are nice, as it is nice to have some local food choices along with the traditional western type breakfast. […] The other restaurants need to revisit and revamp their menus and quality/quantity of food that they serve you. The seafood restaurant was nice but some of the local staff "block" rather than accomodate simple customer requests. The facility is spacious and in a very pretty location however, it is dated and needs to be upgraded. When people go to a resort they tend to spend more of their time there. In comparison, we ventured out to the Westin and it was so nice. The staff so attentive and friendly, the food quality and quantities were superb and, the location and decoration were very beautiful and current. Les mer
"Great hotel with wonderfull service."
The hotel is very nice and relaxing. The rooms/kind of bungalows are large and very confortable. hotel has very nice view either with sea view or on the garden.......Service is great: the phone was not functioning in our room the first day...the staff wanted to upgrate us to another room with partial seaview......but we were so satisfied with our room […] that we keeped it as it is. There was a possibility to make phone calls from a phone outside the room if we wanted. but still the hotel manager has done his very best and has repaired the phone connection which needed support from the phone company. All hotel staff were very helpfull. the hotel has a very nice swimming pool and private beach......very nice to swimm in. The hotel is located about 15min (driving with the scooter) from the cenang beach (kind of center of lagnkawi), 3min (7-10 min walking) from the shin mi fish village where you can each fresh fish for very good prices. Also is the hotel about 10-15min from the cable car from which you can have a very nice view...and it is not so far from the airport. We stayed for nights in this hotel.......we experienced our stay as very good. It is a great hotel and if we come ever back to malaysia/langkawi, we will choose this hotel again! FA&KR. Les mer
Nice rooms but overall a bit worn out. Nice breakfeast and dinner but too expensive. Staff in restaurant sometimes a bit too busy too provide good service. Small beaches are ok but not the best ones. You´ll need a rented car or take a cab if you want to get out from the hotel because the setting is a bit isolated

Enjoyed our stay, but found reception staff not very helpful. Rooms are looking a bit tired. Food around pool area very ordinary. And Beaches not very nice at Hotel.

Excellent service by all staff but, communication can be a problem. ie. Irish coffee please, may get you an iced coffee. Breakfast can be a nightmare with 200 plus guests pushing and shoving to get the last of the paw paw. Big queue for eggs. Limited western breakfast menu. Evening buffet is tragic. Coul not find one redeeming factor of the buffet to […] put a smile on our faces.Roast lamb was raw - Red meat cooked on barbecue was tough. Still, Happy Hour is a must. Building and room maintenance is the major concern as is Langkawi overall - big spending to create a tourist destinatation but little done to maintain over the years - needs a good makeover. Disappointing to make an appointment at the beauty parlor and then to see staff did not bother to turn up. Suggest they liase with Hotel staff at least! Overall, an enjoyable 3 day stay and good value for the money. Les mer

1. The hotel rooms needs updating and maintainance. The room didn't feel like I payed for such amount of money to get this kind of room. For instance, room lights flickering, the light switch has turned from their original colour to brown. The deco in the room is like walking into a 80's hotel room. Clearly the maintainance people didn't see these little […] things. 2. The hotel surroundings, I asked for a sea room view, but a big tree obstruct my view. At least trim the tree a bit. 3. The beach, the maintainance people didn't even bother sweeping up the leaves. 4. The pool, leaves all over the pool. Even the tiles in the pool are not properly cleaned. 5. Poor upkeep on the surroundings of the hotel. 6. Hotel staff didn't maintain their professionalism. The most awesome beds , good service , but the price and quality of the food was brutal, 80 dollars Canadian for two at one of the worst buffet I have ever eaten at. My bad I should have asked for the price first. I also didn't like being charged 20 Canadian for a kit kat bar from the mini bar that I didn't eat, seriously they wanted r m 62 for a kit […] kat. The Hotel conditon, cleanliness and staff service was of outstanding quality. Staff were very helpful especially we advising of surrounding activities. Highly recommend the restaurant some 500m down the road from thehotel, Shin Mi, food and service wase awesome. If i do return to Langkawi I will definitely come back to the Sheraton.

This hotel was not clean, poor maintenance and more of a chalet 3* hotel. We complained about our room on first day, sheets were not changed and had marks, shower was old and looked unclean. We have 3 children and they were not happy. The pool was dirty with bugs and leaves. Nearest restaurant outside was a long way away.

Excellent room service, cleanliness, location and food. The sea view from the room was amazing ... The location is quite close to the airport, plus there is a taxi stand inside the resort which adds to the convenience. The hotel staff were very helpful and responsive. A gem of a hotel-Very similar in layout to Club Mahindra's Munnar property in India. The hotel is slightly away from the markets-a problem that is easily fixed. The trick in Langkawi is to rent a car (60-90 ringitts per day) -with petrol at Rs 32/litre and roads which can put the F1 circuit to shame, driving is a sheer pleasure, but I digress, for […] this is a hotel review. Rooms immaculate & extremely comfortable, 5 star dining facilities however need a car to access otherwise 25MYR taxi to town. Very relaxing though in the pool if that is the peaceful holiday you are after this is the place. Only issue we found was excessive noise from the techno night club Chime that operates until 3am every night except Wednesday. […] Found this strange ad there is hary a peep heard during the day even by the pool bar until music starts close to midnight. Chime is near pool and lobby so request a room a couple of blocks back as I was woken every night in the block closest to bar. Les mer

"Clean and Tidy but out of the way"
We stayed two nights at the Sheraton Beach Resort in Langkawi and we had a great time our only real grip about the hotel was its location being so far from the main beach and nightlife areas. The Hotel itself is sufficient but i must record we spent minimal time there and basically used it as somewhere to sleep and to have breakfast. Breakfast was okay […] and they put on a good selection, don't expect bacon or port for that matter (this is very common in all but a few large chain hotels in Malaysia). The accommodation is chalet based and the chalets are spread over a considerable area. The hotel provides shuttle bus service from chalets to main hotel reception and restaurants and generally the service is quick unless you get caught out in the breakfast rush hour. We hired a car arranged through the tour desk at the hotel and we managed to tour the Island and its main attractions in less than a day. I cant claim to have visited all the attractions but I don't think we missed too much. Hotel is located very close to cable car and the suspended platform which is well worth a visit and cost about RM 14 in a taxi each way. A taxi to the main beach area ( Pantai Cenang) is around RM 26 and is located the other side of the airport. Hence we selected car hire which as-well as being convenient also saved us money in the end. Hotel did not have much of a beach but did have swimming pool at the main building. Guided to Langkawi suggested that the bar at the Sheraton was one of the liveliest but I must admit we never visited it as Cenang appeared to be the location for eating and drinking with many bars and restaurants. The staff at the hotel were very courteous and helpful and we did get offered a welcome drink on our arrival and we were allowed to check into our room at around 12 noon although Hotel policy clearly states that rooms will be available from 3pm onward so a big thank you to the reception staff for that. Our stay at Sheraton Langkawi couldnt have been any better than it was.... the rooms are beatiful with easily accessible by walking but if you need the shuttle they always send them in 5 minutes max... they have the 2nd best beach I have seen on the whole island and the pool is also lovely.. Hotel breakfast is also quite good.... but the most important […] i found was the good service and the friendliness of the hotel staff.. they were all very helpful and very informative about stuff to do on the island...etc Les mer

"Check the rainy season/dont be scared of ants..."
The hotel is lovely. The rooms are like seperate lodges. We had a jacuzzi/sea-facing room and it was all pefect except for an infestation of ants. We called guest services and they did spray them but the ants returned, which was a bit off-putting to be honest. The hotel grounds and pool are lovely - we saw mokeys and lizards. The staff were mostly […] very helpful although some didnt speak the best English. The kids club was good and our children enjoyed it. Les mer

I stayed at the Sheraton with my family for 8 nights in August. When we arrived we had to wait quite some time for our room. When it was eventually ready we were taken to it. The advertisments for the Sheraton do not mention that the rooms are chalets located in a forest and quite a distance from the main hotel area. We got the standard room. When we […] arrived at our room there were two soiled matresses lying up against our door. We should have realised that this was a bad sign. On entering the room it was very dark even though the curtins were open and it was the middle of the day. The rooms let in little light. The toilet had not been cleaned properly and smelled like urine. There were ants crawling all over the walls and later i discovered there was an ant nest behind me bed. The room was not up scratch. I was very upset and demanded a new room which i was promptly given. This room was much better and the staff were extremely helpful in the situation. The employees of this hotel are the only thing that made the stay pleasant. The hotel is over-priced and very restricive as there is literally nothing in the surrounding area. The beach is dirty, the water is polluted and there is a constant smell of sewerage because there are open drains running all the way through the hotel grounds. I would never go back to this hotel and would strongly recommend that people avoid it. The staff are truly exceptional but the condition of the hotel is lacking to say the least. "Poor service, shabby outdated rooms"
I stayed here June 2011. Arrived at 1pm on a Friday afternoon, but had to wait until 3:30pm to access my room as it was "with housekeeping". First night there 3 maintenance staff started banging and sawing pipes outside our room at 11:15pm, they said they were fixing the sink in the unoccupied room next door. One thing I hadn't realised from the website […] was the rooms are all bungalows. 4 rooms to one bungalow. They are showing signs of age and could do with an upgrade/ revamp. Note: I stay in 4/5 star hotels regularly with business and I thought for a Sheraton, all round the quality was very poor for that standard of hotel. However we went with relatives who are not used to staying in this standard of hotel and they thought it was fabulous. ;-) Les mer
