"Seemingly solid hotel choice"
$10 for internet when lower priced hotels give it away for free still boggles my mind. Otherwise this Hyatt seems in great shape with great views of Rochester and a very central location. Parking for a downtown hotel was also reasonable ($10) and for a Thursday night the place was bustling which is always nice to see. I recommend this hotel.

"nice overnight"
The hotel was convenient to a two-day event in downtown Rochester. It was easy to walk to things in the area. Elevators were slow. Door key system failed but staff was quick to fix.

"Hyatt Regancy in Rochester"
When I stayed recently @ the Hyatt Regancy in Rochester it had a 'totally new' look. I must say I was a little shocked by the purple. However, the quality of service hasn't changed. I was completely satisfied with my stay and would recommend it to others, as well as booking it again on my next overnight in Rochester. "Expected Better"
Should be cleaner for a Hyatt. The carpet in my room was stained, the floor in the restaurant and pool were dirty and disgusting. There were slamming doors and people yelling in the hallway well after midnight, so there was very little sleep. "Hyatt Regency in Rochester"
The room was clean, hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and Main St. location was very convenient for our downtown event. The only complaint is that the traffic noise was very noticable. "Hyatt Regency needs updating"
The staff at this hotel were fantastic. They couldn't have been more helpful with directions and finding a restaurant. However, the room was sadly in need of updating. There were marks on the walls, dust on the bedframe and it was generally shabby. The pool area was old and not very clean. We would not stay here again.

Hotel and hotel room were very clean. Attached parking garage was convenient. Restaurants/Dinosaur BBQ/Grills within walking distance. Major traffic arteries easily accessible. Enjoyed the stay very much.
"Hyatt Regency Rochester (NY)"
First the neighborhood was pretty crummy. The view from our window was depressing -- vacant storefronts, dilapidated rooftops, etc. So we stayed away from the window. We had a problem with the in-house telephone. When we used it to call the front desk and housekeeping, it sounded like the phone was ringing, but no one answered. At first, we thought […] everyone was busy, but we tried this several times over the two nights we were there and no one ever answered at those two numbers. Any time we needed something from the front desk, we had to go down to the lobby. At that point, we had to wait because no one was manning the desk and the door to the office was closed. There was nothing (like a bell) to alert anyone that we were there. Then, on Saturday morning, we tried to get money from the ATM, but couldn't. We tried several times, and even called our bank (PNC) to make sure there was no trouble with our account. There was no problem on our end. Our bank suggested that the ATM may have been out of money. Then there was the problem that we paid for two rooms and got one. We were told the reservation for one room cancelled because we didn't check in on time. But the woman at the front desk offered nothing but an arrogant attitude and said it was policy to rent the room to someone else when we failed to check in on time. That put us out quite a bit of money, and we had to double up in our room with are son to address this. Not ideal. Nice policy. I see Hyatt has learned from Wall Street's failures. When we arrived, I was a little put out that we had to use valet parking, which I hate. But that turned out to be the crown jewel of the weekend. Those gentlemen were courteous and efficient. Every time we called, they had our car waiting when we walked out the door. They deserve a pay raise. I can't say I will never use Hyatt again. I will, however, do my best to avoid them. "Hyatt Regency Rochester was a disappointment"
We were disappointed from the beginning. The room wasn't ready, the receptionist said she'd call us after 1 1/2 hr we went back to desk, she said she was busy!! Directions given at the desk were not clear, we couldn't find our way out to the parking garage. Frustrating!!
"Resaonable, Convenient and pretty good"
PROS: The hotel was clean, conveniently located in downtown and mostly quiet. The room was very clean and spacious if a bit drab. Staff was cheerful and helpful if not the most efficient but I have no substantial complaints there. Price is quite reasonable for a hotel of this caliber. CONS: Room service: Not 100% English-literate which may account for […] why my "well-done" burger was pink throughout and the extra milk for my coffee was forgotten The room was very clean But the tub floor, although it looked immaculate, had some sort of gross sticky residue. The Hotel was under construction during our stay. The staff were very nice. The only negative was, the room smelled to much like perfume.
highly recommend the Hyatt hotel chains, but this stay was not the best! The employees were very professional and was willing to help you if needed. This location is on the older side and was under renovations, which at first glance was not appealing at all. The rooms were smaller than the other Hyatts I stayed in, but clean. I requested an additional […] wash cloth and towel that was received within a timely matter, but they were all dingy and dirty looking. My family and another couple had breakfast there at the hotel, several times we had to request cleaner dishware and silverware. The waiter was excellent! not somuch the Hotel. It seemed to be to much renovation going on at the same time. There was painting, construction and other projects happening at the same time. Overall it suited the purpose, I will be in the area again same time next year I hope all renovations are done by then. Les mer

"The Hyatt in Rochester N.Y. is amazing with a view"
My overall stay at The Hyatt seriously has/ had been the best hotel ive stayed at in my 8 yrs of traveling. The room was clean and tidy and smelled so fresh. The staff was helpful and courteous. The beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows.

Room was clean and neat, however I was disappointed that the you could not gain access to the local television stations on the large TV to find out about local weather, etc. NO ABC,NBC, CBS, FOX, WB,CW OR LOCAL CABLE CHANNEL. How do you find out about weather and traffic! Upon arrival I drove around, but could not find the valet parking on the mariad […] of one way streets. The room service prices were more like NYC instead of Rochester NY. Equally disappointing was that dispite the room fee and taxes, I was expected to pay an additional fee for WIFI - even your Super Cheap hotels don't do that! After a busy day of travel and meetings and finally getting to my room after midnight (for a one nite stay) I was so looking forward to a hot soak in the tub...only to discover that there was no stopper!! SO dispite the location,location, location...I won't be staying here again. TOo many annoyances when there are so many other options within the same block. Les mer
"Hyatt in Rochester NY"
Hotel is under construction, so the meals and main restaurant was closed. Other than this my stay was wonderful. Shuttle service to and from airport was excellent and drivers were very friendly, helpful and courteous.

"Hyatt Regency Rochester - close to arena/museum"
The hotel is close to the arena and museum so it's convenient. That's the big plus for this hotel. The room was basic (I booked basic room) but the problem was it was not the cleanest room ever. There were a half dozen long hairs in both beds - sorry that grosses me out. We checked in on a Sunday and there was nothing to do because everything is closed. […] EVERYTHING. I was also a bit ticked that there were no kids channels on television unless you pay $4 to watch an episode of Arthur (which is a PBS .....i.e. public broadcasting...show). The pool was pretty basic but a bit cold and 4 feet deep. The hot tub was empty when we got there and they had to fill it and heat it which took a while. Not sure I'd stay there again. Les mer
"Very nice hotel"
We enjoyed staying here. Its close to everything and is in walking distance to bars. I would still recommend taking a cab. the homeless population is a little pushy so if you jump in a cab you can avoid them. I wouldn't stay at this place again. The room was not clean, called ahead to make sure everything would be right and then had to argue with the front desk to get the room and the refrigerator too! The front desk laughed when we told them someone was trying to get into our room at 2:00am, mentioned that sometimes it happens just go with it....not again […] is what I say!! Les mer
"unexpected charges"
Although our room packege included free breackfast- my AmEx card was charged $56 for the breackfast. It was very surprising- since we addressed the issue with the Front desk cleark at the time of check out and he assured us that the bill will be cancelled. I ended up disputing the bill with AmEx. "Nice hotel, but charges for any extras"
We were very comfortable in this hotel. We knew nothing about Rochester and if going again, would not stay downtown. It did not feel completely safe for a family with small children. No problems with the hotel except the charge for parking and internet.

The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. The only downfall was that they charged additional for everything, including the coffee in the lobby. Don't get me wrong, we really enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Regency.

very nice hotel, room was very comfortable and clean. staff was very helpful, would definitely stay again. we come to rochester frequently during the school year and normally we stay in the suburbs, but it was nice to be downtown and nearer to restaurants.

The hotel was a nice relaxing place to stay in beautiful Rochester, NY. The front desk staff was well informed and very quick and friendly with registration, and also with other questions regarding places to eat in the area. Full breakfast was included in our package, and it was REALLY good. The only problem that we encountered was that the wait staff […] was seriously understaffed. Folks actually had to line up at the kitchen to get coffee, because the waiter could not adequately handle all the people in his area. "Hyatt Rochester, NY"
My stay at the Hyatt was less than a "Hyatt" should be. There never seemed to be people at the front desk. There never seemed to be a bellman anywhere. When I checked out there was no bellman and I had to take a week of luggage plus equipment down myself. The only person who seemed to be working was the valet, and even that was a struggle to get someone […] on the phone. The phone was rarely picked up if you needed something. So overall I would probably not recommend this hotel to someone, not to mention the neighborhood was not very nice. Les mer

We spent a great night at the Regency Hyatt in Rochester New York. Everything was right there where we needed it particularly the garage and restaurant. The service was fantastic, particularly one woman who acted as a general hostess on the lobby level. "Very Nice Hotel"
Lovely hotel, great location, especially for the price. However, there are no convenient stores near by, so bring anything you may need with you. I would recommend that they give the hot tub and pool a good scrubbing. There was visible discoloration at the water line of both. Some stagnant pools of water were located thru-out the pool area, but otherwise […] it was kept clean. "Needs Improvement"
Surrounding area is run down and not really safe to walk around. The hotel rooms are nice but not what you expect from the Hyatt. That being said, not sure where else you would find better in this area
