"If you like chocolate"
Great hotel, nice personell, excellent facilities and surroundings. Two minor drawbacks: 1) if you don't like eggs, take breakfast at the Subway next door. 2) If you're dependent upon going in and out of Halifax every morning (conference etc) it's 5,5 km and no direct busline. Last day we rented car and to my big surprise (from Norway...) it was very […] very cheap. "Excellent value hotel in convenient location"
Free parking, free hot breakfast, pool, fitness room, close to city - it ticked all the boxes. The room was ordinary but adequate and the price was great.

if you enjoy a nice fresh made breakfast to start your day, then go next door to the subway shop.. The buffet breakfast at the hotel wasnt fresh, and certainly not tasty.. The hotel dog cocoa, who is the welcome ambassador even sniffed at it and turned around and went over to the subway shop looking for fresh made eggs and sausages,.. But the hotel […] was very good, i forgot my comb, my toothbrush and shaving cream and was supplied with all of that, which upon arriving at midnight and realizing your missing that was great the front desk helped me out.. Easy access to Halifax central area and to Peggy's Cove. 5th floor overlooking lake and gardens. Only drawback was the noise from the external motors overlooking room when I had requested a change of room location due to original near lift well. Staff sarcastic upon my request to relocate room. The location made visit worthwhile.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past couple years and would not hesitate to do so again. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was comfortable and well furnished. I look forward to a return visit.

The only problem I found was that the doors were to heavy to open. And I believe all hotels should have a smoking floor in them to cater to those who smoke. Breakfast was great and the convenience of having a restaurant on site was great. \\\\with the two above mentioned the hotel was great.

This was our first time to stay at this hotel in the winter months. It is beside a lake and is lovely in the summer, but it was equally idealic in winter. There were skaters on the frozen lake and frosty trees around its' perimeter! The staff are very courteous and helpful! You are provided a hearty and balanced breakfast. Was quite excited to go to a hotel with a pool and whirlpool. We dont get away very much. Only to find out when we got there that they were both down for maintenance, Very disappointed. Went to Nova Scotia for my mothers 80th birthday party. We stayed there for 4 days and the room was always clean and tidy. The hotel staff are all fabulous and want to make your stay enjoyable. The free breakfast though limited was adequate, overall I would recommend this hotel if you are every in the area. 5 stars

A pleasant hotel with a fun chocolate theme including a chocolate lab named Cocoa and chocolate bar nicknames for the staff. The view of the lake is lovely.

Have to say this was one of the nicest hotels I stayed at while on my trip. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The service was great and the rooms were nice and clean and very comfortable. I was able to get into downtown in a short time. Very glad I found it. I would definitely stay there again!

This hotel was excellent value for the money. The rooms are very spacious and a full breakfast is included for a very reasonable price. The view of the lake is spectacular, well worth the extra few $.

Enjoyed our 3 day stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. The Hotel Chocolate Lab was a great Hotel Representative. We could all learn to be so laid back and well trained. Only major issue was the inability to print Westjet Boarding passes on the Hotel's Computer System.

Nice clean hotel, close to shopping and downtown. Unfortunately we were not able to get an early check in due to a wedding onsite however staff had our rooms ready at check in time. Beds were comfy and room was clean. Breakfast was in the hotel restaurant and included eggs, ham and hash browns. We plan to stay here again when we are in Halifax.

Three-night stay in a room with a kitchenette. Kitchenette included a bar fridge, microwave and sink. The hotel and the room were clean and well-maintained overall, though small annoyances detracted from the stay. Best Western Chocolate Lake Hotel was a comfortable hotel, with good access to downtown or out of the city. The only downside was that there were no restaurants nearby.
