Omni Houston Hotel Westside - Houston

Almost everything OK, very nice and helpful personnel. But cleaning insufficient. Hair on the bathroom floor and needed to ask for missing bathroom amenities (shampoo, soap tray)

very nice hotel, they gave me a free upgrade to a suite when I checked in when I asked for one. would definetly recommend this hotel. I will stay here again for sure!!!

If you must stay this far outside of "Houston," this is a nice place to stay. For me, the hotel was really fine but when I go to Houston, I want to be closer to the restaurants, shopping and all that makes Houston a great place to visit!

In general, I liked the hotel. It had an attractive, modern interior with a fish pond inside/outside. However, they when they said they had high speed Internet, they didn't tell you that you'd have to pay unless you were a preferred/platinum member. I did NOT like this at all, since FREE access to the Internet is part of how I base my hotel booking […] decisions. Les mer

Great value, great room, very nice.

This hotel is nothing special. Neither good, nor bad which in itself can be OK. However we were dining in the restaurant which was just about the slowest service I have ever come across in Texas for no apparent reason. There were enought staff, and not many guests. It wasn't just the main that came slow. Even getting the drinks orders took ages, and […] the same when asking for the bill. That combined with the hotel geenrally being a bit bland, I'd say there's nothing here to celebrate. Les mer

It was such a beautiful hotel. The Christmas decorations and lobby music were beautiful.

Except for being by the elevator, we really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay again.

The Omni is always the best of the best. I've attended many company holiday parties at the hotel and it's always a classy affair. Beautifully decorated during the holidays. My favortie thing in this hotel in the lobby. In a hurry this year I left my expensive dress in the closet. I was merely looking for a place to lay my head for NYE after all the craziness I intended to have. I knew I'd need something pretty calming to be able to recover for work Monday morning. Having recently stayed at Houston's other Omni Hotel, I figured I'd give this location a try. I was not dissappointed at all. A gentlemen by the name of Kamal was […] very helpful in getting me situated upon my arrival and the convenience of the FREE parking was such a jewel in comparisson to that of the other location. It was close enough to where I could have skipped the concierge all together, although I didn't. The specs of the hotel are as listed. The room was nice, clean, and bed extremely comfortable. Express check out was the icing on the cake. The only thing I had an issue with was the television not having an HDMI connection port. I was prepared in spite of this and enjoyed my stay. However I doubt I'll be staying at this location again soon as its outside of the city limits, unless I'm on some romantically isolating get away. Les mer

Desk Clerk was very nice and helpful. If you don't join the rewards program, you have to pay for wi fi and you they charge for local calls. I don't like it when a place nickle and dimes you to death. The only thing they need to work on is that the maid forgot to restock the q-tips and cotton balls in restroom and also, the hotel needs to pay attention […] to routing cleaning. The decorative molding above the the curtains needed to be dusted. It was very very dusty due to the fact that the AC unit blew right on it. Everything else was very nice and they were just putting up the Christmas decorations which were very beautiful. Les mer

The location was great. It's within driving distance of food, shopping, and freeway access. The inside was very nice and was surprised even with the reviews and pictures. The outside was not like in its pictures but location was fantastic. Room was very comfortable and definately a 4 star hotel. Would recommend this hotel to those who are visiting for […] work and for vacation. This was definately at a bargin price on hotels.com for the comfort and location. Les mer

Omni Hotel at Westside has very friendly staff and is at a very convienient locaiton in the Energy Corridor with the mall, offices, food places and park nearby. The hotel room do need upgrading though as very basic and most times the ventilation does not work properly, but I will recommend this hotel.

was wonderful. We had our entire wedding party and guests stay at the OMNI for a family wedding. Everyone was very happy with the accommodations. Food was wonderful, a couple of different venues to choose from made it nice. We enjoyed the comfortable seating areas; very comfortable.

Feeding the fish was the highlight of this hotel for my children. The room service breakfast food was equivalent to a frozen food entree and cost too much for what was served. Language barrier with kitchen staff took 4 calls to get the order right. We checked in at night and asked for a room on the east side of the hotel because we all love the morning […] sun. The front desk agent said he'd give us a room on the east side to only to wake up and realize we were on the west side of the building. Next time I'll bring my own compass just for that reason. Remember to look in the drawers for your coffee maker. I couldn't find it until we were gathering our things to leave. The bottle of water in the room and the mini bar prices were outrageous. My recommendation is to find a store to go to first and pop your own bottle in your room. Les mer

Loved the hotel but the location sucked!

The hotel is fine, but the staff is incompetent. I called beforehand, and was told there was no honeymoon package. We got there and there WAS champagne, but we didn't plan for it, so didn't use it. They also wished us HAPPY ANNIVERSARY instead. Then when we left something in the room, I called ahead to come pick it up. They said it would be at the front […] desk. It wasn't, and after phone calls, radio calls, and after waiting 30 minutes, we had to leave without it. We'll see if they actually mail it, as they said. Les mer

This hotel was a real find or our families trip to Houston. The outside is a bit deceiving as you pull up. The inside atrium is beautiful. Ponds loaded with Koi fish and a wonderful restaurant situated adjacent to the water. The kids had a lot of fun feeding the fish each day with food from the staff. My girlfriend and I went to Houston for an extended weekend just to get away and do nothing for a while. The Omni offered an excellent and very large fitness center and an outdoor pool that was well maintained and landscaped. Another plus was the large indoor fish pond - dozens of large bright colored fish swim around right by the front desk. The front […] desk will even give you fish food for free! It was fun feeding them. The room was very comfortable - it felt spacious. The king bed was nice, pillows were excellent. Watch out for the speed-bumps in the parking lot though: my car literally bottomed out with a huge thud going over them and I drive a Toyota Camry with a manufacturer's default ride height. Les mer

Sheets had some dark spot/stain

It's a lovely hotel, with a wonderfu staff, and a great restaurant, i.e Cafe on the Lake. The cafe is surrounded by koi ponds. It also has a nice bar with shuffle board. The undercover parking leaves a bit to be desired for its cleanliness.

No refrigerator or microwave. You would think for paying a high price they would have these things. Other than that we enjoyed it.

The hotel service overall was great. My family really enjoyed the food in the restaurants. The staff was very friendly. The only problem we experienced was when a member of the hotel staff smoked a cigarette in one of our rooms. The manager on duty almost questioned the veracity of my statement. I invited him up to smell the room for himself. He declined. […] He did offer to move me to another room, but after unpacking a lot of clothes and setting up my electronics, I declined. I was really shocked that the manager-on-duty would not visit the room. WIth the wide selection of hotels in the area, I guess he doesn't understand that the small things make a big difference. I may think twice before staying at this hotel again, but the staff was just too nice to not return there. The staff really needs to train their manager on providing exceptional service. Les mer

Felt a little ripped off on the movie rental...way too pricey!

Excellent service from the hotel staff! Children loved feeding the fish in the lobby each day. Would certainly recommend this hotel and stay here on our next visit!

Excellent Hotel, great location, nice staff. Highly recommend also the restaurant downstairs (on the lake?) was great! awesome breakfast too!
