This hotel was wonderful. Decorated like a mountain lodge, with brand new mattress' and bathrooms. Hotel staff was very friendly. I will be coming back with my children and would definitely recommend my friends stay here.

We stayed at Cortina Inn when we were looking for an affordable place to stay while skiing in Killington, Vt. The hotel is right on the main road, approx 10 minutes to the ski resort, convenient location in between the resort and the bigger town of Rutland. It had a nice indoor pool and hot tub which was a criteria since we were travelling with a 6 […] year old. Cozy ambience with a wood-burning stove in the lobby area with seating around it. There was some traffic noise due to being right on the main road, but overall we enjoyed our stay there. Les mer

Stayed here over night, as a place close to the nearby ski resorts. This was definitely a very nice surprise. Clean, very comfortable, looks "like new". Complimentary hot breakfast was good too. Would definitely recommend.

Clean, comfofrtable rooms, big fireplace in the lobby, a great breakfast included, great service, good gym, pool, and hot tub. Close enough to skiing but away from the crowds. All at a good price. We'll be back!

We came to Vermont to ski. It has been a fairly snowless winter. The Cortina Inn is being restored by its new owners. It is very apparent that they are working hard to bring it back. We loved the fireplace where everyone congregated in the evening. The pool area was clean and warm. The breakfast included with the stay included eggs, pancakes, waffles, […] bacon, sausage even corned beef hash one day as well as continental type items. We are looking forward to the game room and tavern being finished. They will even have a massage room! The massage therapist was providing chair massages during our stay. The Cortina Inn provided a nice clean place to stay close to skiing at Killington. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and adequate, not luxury accomodations, but the rates are very reasonable. Nice pool and jacuzzi, nice lounge area (not a bar lounge) with big fireplace. Just a heads up, there seems to be little or no insulation/sound barrier between rooms. We stayed in room 116 with our boys, 12 and 16, and we're awakened at 6am by the guests in the room above us. We, unfortunately, heard every minute of them having sex! We could hear every word/sound loud and clear! Fortunately only my husband, myself, and my 16 year […] old were awakened. Hotel was lovely - Employees made you feel welcome. Room was clean and very comfortable. Whirlpool was lovely. Breakfast was well presented. Hotel is very close to Pico and Killington - only 50 minutes to Sugarbush. Lots of restaurant down the hill in Rutland .Would absolutely stay here again.

I normally stay at the killington condos but changed it up and went to the cortina inn. This place was great and the staff was always there to help. I will be staying there in the future again because it was great.

The rooms are well done and recently updated. The staff is great and friendly. Some areas of the hotel are currently under construction/renovation. It is our go to hotel in the area.

Spent a few days at the beginning of the year. The front desk lady was very nice and helpful, the rooms are comfortable but the hotel needs some updating. The workout room is completely obsolete and the sauna closed for renovation. The hottub was never working correctly (too hot or barely lukewarm). We stayed at Cortina Inn and Resort for two nights in Jan. We drove from NYC on Thu night and checked in the hotel around midnight. We were worried that no one would be at the front desk when we arrived (since the hotel website mentioned 10pm last check-in on weekdays). We called ahead since we were running late. Jig (the owner/manager) was very friendly […] and told us not to worry. When we arrived at the hotel, we were able to check in quickly without any delays. The hotel offers skiing discounts at the neighboring resorts but you need to make sure to purchase the tickets 48hrs in advance. The hotel is currently under renovation (they were getting new gym equipment and building a tavern in the lower floor) and only part of the hotel is open to guests. There is a huge lobby and fireplace area with space for playing games. The indoor hot tub and heated swimming pool were very relaxing after our long day at the Pico mountain. The hotel also offered hot tea/coffee by the lobby at all times along with home made chocolate chip cookies during certain times of the day (yumm..they were good!). Our room was pretty standard - beds, desk area, tv and a couple of chairs. There was space underneath the TV as well as standard wall closet to put your stuff. We were 3 people and stayed in the 2 queen sized beds room. There was no refrigerator in the bedroom although you can probably get one from the hotel for a fee. The bathroom was small and basic but clean. There were no drawers to put your things in the bathroom. They offered breakfast every morning from 7-9am. The breakfast was regular American style - eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, toasts etc. Note: We were charged an extra person fee (only $20 for 2 days) when we were checking out since we were 3 adults in the 2 people room. The hotel was less than 0.5 mile away from the Pico mountain and not too far from all the Killington mountains. In summary, it was a decent hotel with some room for improvement. They serve a mean quiche for breakfast. The room could have been more thoroughly cleaned. I even left a $5 tip hoping for better service the next night but the headboards of the bed were still dusty and the bathtub had gunk around the rim. I called the front desk to request the tub be cleaned because I wanted to soak after skiing and someone came right […] up to take care of it. The Cortina Inn is an excellent place to stay if you plan to visit this part of Vermont. The hotel is just down the road from the main Killington ski area. The hotel is comfy cozy and has fire places in some rooms. The hot tub and pool area are fantastic. The service was excellent. Very polite and accommodating people. I booked this hotel because of the price and the good reviews it had received but I wasn't too impressed with the service. The breakfast menu didn't change and a few of the days we didn't feel like waiting for the server to come out of the kitchen so we just ate at other places. Also, the hot tub wasn't running which was a huge disappointment. I had […] been looking forward to that. Another thing was the gratuity envelope that the housekeepers left in our room. I've never seen that before and I used to work in a hotel. I felt that it was extremely forward and pushy, but I left a tip anyway just so they wouldn't mess with our room or something if we didn't leave one. Overall it wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't anything to write home about either. Forgetable, I believe, would be a good word for this hotel. Les mer

Not since "The Shining" have I been so weirded out by a hotel. No ax-weilding caretaker or elevators gushing blood, thankfully, but an unsettling experience nonetheless. I was not aware of this hotel's troubled past when I booked a room here for 2 nights. Apparently, the previous owners allowed The Cortina to fall into serious disrepair, and there were […] even some outbreaks of Legionnaire's Disease here, leading to its eventual closure a few years ago. The new owners are trying to bring it back from the dead, but judging from the vacant parking lot and the amount of time it's taking to finish their refurbishing, it continues to be an uphill struggle. Ghosts of The Cortina's more vibrant past are everywhere. Only about half of the hotel is now operational, with several of the large public rooms and halls blocked off and/or filled with broken furniture and assorted other debris. The tennis courts are now weed-choked and will probably blend completely back into the landscape in a year or two at the rate they're decomposing. The indoor pool is actually open, but the jacuzzi sits out of order under a plastic dropcloth, and the basement-level "spa" and "health club" facilities are dark, damp and dingy - and appear to have been unused for quite some time. The rooms themselves have been spruced up a bit - the mattresses and bedding appear new, as do the carpeting and drapes - but it's mostly cosmetic. A damp, musty smell still permeates, and only adds to the general sense of decay about the place. To their credit, the managers seem like nice people who are genuinely trying to make a go of things, and I hesitated on writing a negative review lest it turn away much-needed business. But the clincher was when, on my second night there while lounging in bed watching TV, I discovered a deer tick chowing on my left thigh. I don't know where else I could have possibly picked up a tick - in November no less - other than on the property, but even if it had nothing to do with the hotel Les mer

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was great... friendly and informative about hotel amenities without having to specifically ask. Dining room staff bent over backwards to accomodate our requests. Beds were extremely comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. The only downside was that the bathroom is tiny in comparison to the rest of the room. But […] this is a minor criticism. Good value and very nice rooms. Great service during the off season with a limited number of guests the cook made whatever we wanted to breakfast. Tennis courts outside were a bit over grown and looked poor but the inside of the rooms and common areas were very nice.

Worth the price!

This hotel was AWFUL! It was a terrible experience. It was cheaper than the competition, and everything has a reason. Staff was poor, breakfast (supposedly free) was near completely without food (they ran out and did not have attentive service to make more), and the hotel, while having new bedding, was very decrepit. Very clean, well re-done establishment! Pets are welcome which was a plus for us! Continental breakfast was included which was decent. Pool was very nice, the hot tub jets weren't working well, but still felt nice to soak in! We would definitely go back!

Nice motel/lodge. Older, but had character. Pool closed a little early, (8:00pm). Fire alarm going off at 9:30am with no annoucements was more than a little annoying! The sit down breakfast included was pretty decent, but ran out of sausage 15 min prior to closing and didn't bother cooking up any more. Our GPS took us to the wrong address, so be  […] careful. This place is very nice. Morning was woken up by the fire alarms but everything was fine and the staff was very apologetic. Very satisfied with the hotel and staff!

We booked this hotel at the last minute due to a family death, the hotel is old on the outside but the rooms are all new. The owners actually work the front desk and they are very nice people. I would stay here again.

This is a hotel that is still "in the works." Only a portion of the hotel is operating. When it is all done, it is going to be great! It is a very comfortable place, warmed even more by the wonderful staff that cares for you and the property. We had a wonderful time here. Every morning, a delicious breakfast, made by Patrick. The room was so comfortable. […] My son so enjoyed his time in the pool. The staff was preparing for an art opening at the hotel. The art was from local artists and it was beautiful! I wish them well with this venture. I also can't wait to return, to see a new collection, see the new friends we made, and to relax!! Les mer

My husband and I do not have extremely high expectations when going to hotels but we were very disappointed in our stay at The Cortina Inn in Killington Vermont. 1. We reserved a King room and were told upon arrival that there were none left so we had to have a room with two beds. 2. The first room we were in had a broken air conditioner. Had to pick […] up all our things and move to another room. 3. We were so exhausted we crashed for a few hours before going to eat. Later that night my husband took a shower and was so upset as the drain was clogged. He immediately got out and there was soap scum and large clumps of hair that came out of the drain. 4. Nobody at the front desk after 10 pm 5. Found urine stains on the inside of the toilet seat. 6. Odd smell in the main part of the lobby. We knew the Cortina was being renovated as we had been there several years before. It was clear that the new ownership may have gotten in over their heads as the old charm feel was gone and replaced with us wondering who had been staying in our room before we got there. We wish them luck as it used to be a beautiful place however we will never stay there again and recommend a pre-visit for anyone who may stay there. Les mer

THIS PLACE WAS NICE AND WELL SET UP. THE WATER WAS HOT BUT THE PRESSURE WAS ONLY A TRICKLE SHOWER. MY HEATER GAVE ME TROUBLE BUT MY FRIENDS HAD NO PROBLEMS. STAFF WAS FRIENDLY.

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Cortina Hotel and Resort to anyone . Very friendly and accomodating staff, excellent beds, our meal at the restaurant was delicious as was the full breakfast buffet included in our reasonable price. We will be back! The hotel is under new management and is PET FRIENDLY.

If you are familiar with the area then Pico Mountain is a destination for you. This hotel has reopened recently after a full renovation. The rooms are updated, clean and comfortable. More so than any other loadge in the region. Rates are reasonable and included breakfast. Did not swim but the pool looks terrific. Our room had a outdoor balcony as I think most of the rooms do. Nice indoor pool and jacuzzi but no bubble action was disappointing. 15 minute drive to Killington skiing. The free hot coffee was a nice touch. My girlfriend forgot her bathing suit in the hotel room and they're mailing it to us. Now that is service!

Got to meet the owners of the hotel and they were so nice. They just bought the place and spent a ton renovating. They were hungry for feedback. We told them, t they need to work on their breakfast, but everything else was great. They have applied for a liquor license for their tavern. For those that just want to ski all day, come back for a quiet dinner […] then a few drinks at the bar, this is the place. Not like those loud hotels on the access road. Les mer

Very nice, large clean rooms, our room had 2 queen beds. i was there with 3 other guys, 2 per room and we were happy. I'd bring my family there also. large pool and hot tub. Good breakfast included. Four hungry guys were satisfied, there were lots of kids there, they looked happy. Nice fireplace in central area. My issues: breakfast started at 7 am, […] a lillte late and they only had plastic and foam service. Hot tub didnt bubble, TV remote was sticky. 10 mins from Killington, close to Pico Les mer

After reading the reviews on this hotel I was prepared for the worst. To my surprise, the hotel was under new ownership and the rooms were new and tasefully rennovated. They had a nice common area where you could sit by the fire in the evening. There was always fresh coffee available and the staff was super friendly. Go for the food and the fireplace! There is a newly reopened restaurant on the premises.The chef is talented and personable.Each entree we tried was excellent. Comfortable seating around a real fireplace was quite relaxing. Nice to stay under one roof after a day of skiing! Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff was polite and accomodating. very nice place, warm cozy hall with the fireplace area. Breakfast room wasn't the cleanest and wafle maker didn't work at the first mornig. But room was nice, updated and clean, beds nice and comfy. Kids loved pool area. we will come back to that place for sure!

We stayed during the first few opening weekends. Things we not all in order, but they certainly did their best. It will be super in a short amount of time.
