Veldig bra hotell med kjempefin beliggenhet. Hyggelig, rimelig. Vi fikk mye mer for pengene enn vi hadde forventet.

Vi er en familie på 2 voksne og 2 barn (4 og 7 år). Hotellet passer fint til barnefamilier. Selv om Bourbonstreet ikke egner seg for små barn, er hotellets location perfekt for de som er voksne nok til å nyte utelivet. Hørte ingen støy fra Bourbonstreet, selv om denne ligger knappe et kvartal unna. Hotellet har veldig enkel men god frokost. Uteområdet med badebasseng er veldig fint. Rommene er greie i str. med veldig hode senger. Savnet litt mer info/brosjyrer på hotellrommet, ellers er vi veldig fornøyd med vårt opphold her! Veldig hyggelig betjening.

Hyggelig i hotell rett ved Jackson Square i NOLA. Flere bygninger rundt en "court-yard" med svømmebasseng og grønne trær. Mulighet for frokost ute. Vi hadde rom inn mot gårdsplassen, og hørte dermed ikke noe støy fra gaten, selv om det var meget sentralt i French Quarter. Hvis vi skal si noe negativt, må det bli at det på svalegangen utenfor vårt rom var plassert et bord med to stoler. Dette ble benyttet som røykeområe av våre naboer. Røyk sivet inn på vårt rom, og noe snakk midt på natten. Vi sa fra i resepsjonen, men ingen ting skjedde.Bortsett fra dette var vi meget fornøid med hotellet.

If you are looking for something older with more character, this is a great hotel. The rooms are spacious and include an ensuite sitting area. It is centrally located in the downtown Business district, and allowed easy accessibility to my appointments the following day. The drawbacks are that the rooms are dated, and slightly worn - the carpets show […] some wear as well. I also had a room facing out to the street; however, since I stayed on a Thursday night, it was not very loud. If noise is an issue, then you may want to rethink this choice, as the windows appear original as well, and not double-paned. But, all in all, I was happy with my choice of a non-standard hotel in the heart of New Orleans downtown. Les mer
"Nice Hotel For People With Dogs"
Located right next door to Lafayette Park so when it was raining it was not a very far walk. There is not very much grass in the French Quarter, so this is perfect for people with pets. My only complaint is the $50 pet fee, but the price was low enough the $50 was still cheaper than La Quinta.

"Good location; mediocre accommodations"
The bed was so-so. Towels and bed linens were cheap. There was only shampoo and lotion in the bathroom. When we asked for conditioner, they insisted we had "conditioning shampoo" -- not the same thing. The front desk was not friendly or welcoming. However, when we asked for feather pillows rather than the firm rubbery ones, they told us they didn't […] think they had any, but someone did dig them out...big improvement; don't know why they were hiding them. "A little too noisy"
my room was facing st. charles street, you could hear the trolley and unfortunately the flags were hanging right under my windows. so, i was in for a very noisy night. the tv could be bigger.

This was a nice place, older but hey.. its New Orleans. Right on the trolley line and close to the WWII museum. Was there on business but will return with my husband for a weekend trip.

I only stayed 1 night but the service is great. Check out was at 11am but my flight leaves at 3pm. The hotel held my luggage at the desk until my shuttle came at 1:30pm. Pros: The hotel is very convenient, since it is located on the (affordable) trolley car line on St. Charles. The front entrance was attractive and welcoming. Our room had attractive period furniture and was, by New Orleans standards, quite clean. The staff went out of their way to be of assistance and had a great attitude. Cons: The maintenance crew needs to replace the rusting towelbar and tissue holder, and the drapes and bed bench need to be spot cleaned. "Near the superdome"
The Lafayette was a very convenient hotel for our foray to the Superdome. It is on the St. Charles street car line and close to some very fine restaurants and art galleries/museums. The bathroom is a little tired for some reason, but the rest of the room was grand. "Quaint but noisy beds"
I enjoyed the location because it was across the street from Mother's restaurant! and it was far enough to be out of the main strip (canal street) but close enough that it was not more than a 10minute walk and about 20minute walk to the french quarter. The pros: location, bar next door, friendly staff, and continental breakfast. The cons: squeaky […] bed (the bed made noise every time i moved), temperature upon entering the room (it was set way too low but we got it fixed), wifi not working in the room (the 1st floor bedrooms do not get the connection very well). "Lafayette Hotel rooms great & close to sights"
The suite was terrific - plenty of space and comfort. The location was beside the Charles Street streetcar route, but close enough to Bourbon Street to walk there. Also close to downtown. On Wed night the bar held a fashion show including nightwear.
"Quaint and convenient, but dated and worn."
Older building with nice architectural features and furniture, but needs some work to make it more comfortable. We were staying there for a long weekend with relatives. We called ahead and asked to be located on the same floor, and were told it "should be no problem". When we checked in, it did not happen and they were not able to do anything about […] it. Our relatives reseved a room for themselves and their daughters (4 people), but the sofa bed in their "suite" did not work. They were not able to get another room until the next day. The rooms were worn, but clean. Not enough light in the bedroom; the only lights were the reading lamps near the bed, and one of those did not work. On our first night, the heat did not work and it was cold. They did fix it the next day, but the weather warmed up and we could not turn the heat down. There are no ice machines. Ice must be obtained from the bar on the first floor. At least the the room refrigerator/freezer worked well enough to keep the ice frozen once we got it. Nice kitchenette in the room, but lacked a microwave. I generally prefer older hotels, but this one needs work. For the price I will stay in a more up to date place the next time I visit New Orleans. The Lafayette is a very comfortable old world hotel with easy walking access to the French Quarter. The staff are helpful and patient. Our room was quiet, with the pleasant sound outside of the cable cars coming and going. We would stay there again without hesitation.

Location in Downtown Business District and proximity to 4 & 5 star restaurants as well as Superdome and N.O Arena where Hornets play is outstanding for business or Sports travellers. "Great place"
I have been staying at hotels in New Orleans for years and had never even noticed this hotel. The location is perfect, on St. Charles just past Poydras and on the edge of Lafayette Square. It's obviously an older hotel so you aren't going to get state of the art amenities, but the terrific, historical ambiance more than makes up for it. If you're like […] me, you want a great location, a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. I don't need 300 cable channels or a sprawling mini-bar when I'm in NOLA. Very close to the French Quarter - but far away enough to be out of the Bourbon St. mess. Great value - nice people. Right on the St. Charles streetcar line. Good restaurant on the first floor and a great one across the street.
"You get what you pay for"
The hotel staff was less than friendly and when I complained about the internet service not working, the girl at the front desk didn't say anything and processed the $5 dollar charge. Had I not been in a hurry I would have escalated the issue, but for five bucks I just wasn't in the mood. The water pressure was nonexistent. The guest that stayed there […] before me had left their sock in the middle of the floor, I guess the maid didn't think it was important enough to pick up. The good things about this hotel were that the rooms are more like small apartments and it is very quite (on a New Orleans standard). The location is just too convenient which is why I stayed there, but I won't be staying there again. If you are on a budget, its worth it. But, if you can afford something better, there are too many great hotels in NOLA to consider over this one. Les mer

This room was very nice and spacious for my 2 year old son to run around. Very quaint and so reasonable. Will definetly stay here again.

This is an excellent choice. The hotel is new, the rooms are complete with very comfortable beds, small kitchenette equipped with full refrigerator, dishwasher, etc. The most friendly people work there. From Monday through Thursday, the breakfast, lunch and supper buffets are free. There is a wide variety of choices. I cannot find one single negative […] comment about this hotel. Hotel was nice. Loved the neighborhood. The bed was uncomfortable. And the shower sucked!! Nicely furnished and decorated. Overall we enjoyed it, but just a few little things. Staff was very friendly.
Quite roomy and very comfortable. good location and good price. I was very pleased with my stay and next time in the 'Big Easy' this hotel will definitly be on my radar.

We really enjoyed our stay, they staff was very friendly. The room was nice, very authentic! We there in New Orleans because our infant was having surgery, a couple days after arriving home we got phone call from the someone at the hotel to check on our little man! Will be staying there on our next trip for sure!

"Layfayette Hotel-New Orleans"
This is a charming boutique hotel in a very nice location. It is located only 3 or 4 blocks from the Riverwalk, and about 5 or 6 blocks from the French Quarter. It is an older hotel, which is very clean and has lots of charm. The bed was extremely comfortable!

This is a very lovely hotel with old world charm and helpful staff. Our room was beautifully decorated, we had the king suite with a living room attached. The only downside was the bed, it was in desperate need of updating. It sagged in the middle and was terribly uncomfortable. The area around the hotel is nice though, out of the noise of the french […] quarter, very close to some very fine restaurants (Herb Saint and Luke are phenomenal) and right in front of the St. Charles st Trolly. "Lafayette Hotel New Orleans -- KUDOS on all counts"
From the warm greeting on my arrival, to the friendly goodbyes at departure, my stay at the Lafayette Hotel was nothing but awesome. The room was large, comfortable, nicely furnished, wonderfully cool during a heat advisory in August, and after a day out on the town everything was tidy, freshened up, and ready for me to relax. It was quiet, had plenty […] of space for my wardrobe, and, because I also had to work during my week there, I was thankful for the wireless service and desk so I didn't miss any time on the job. There is a small fee for this service, but it also includes local and long distance calls, so it was absorbed into the cost of my workday. Every staff member went out of his/her way to accommodate me, from delivering messages left by friends to placing extra towels to sharing advice on parking to providing local insider tips on where to grab a coffee and danish without getting overcharged. Though I didn't make use of the bar or restaurant downstairs, the convenience of not having to leave the premises was always there. You never know when inclement weather keeps you in, so Mike's on the Avenue and Twist are only an elevator ride away, and the upscale black and white and chrome decor are very cosmopolitan and inviting. When I go back to the Big Easy, I will definitely stay at the Lafayette. Les mer

We have stayed at the Lafayette several times. It is onlt 3 blocks from the French Quarter and right across the street from one of the best restaurants in NO..not to mention the hotel's own. The staff is friendly and helpful, the guestrooms are well appointed and roomy. "Good Location - Needs Renovated"
This hotel is just really old. The rooms are beat up (crushed lampshades, cigarette burns in the upholstery, etc.), the shower did not get past lukewarm. The VCR was actually ripped out of the top of the ancient TV. The service was good, the location is great, nice bars and restaurants downstairs - has potential, just in serious need of a facelift!

"Summer at the Lafayette"
The hotel is very nice. It has charm as an old southern style in downtown. The only thing wrong is it is old and in July, don't stay on the 5th floor. It is so hot and does not cool down. Trust me, you don't want to stay there if you can't stay on another floor. This is only in the summer you are affected.

"LAFAYETTE HOTEL"
The service at the hotel was very unprofessional and the maintenance of the room was even worse. Our room was not cleaned, dirty towels were not removed, bed sheets not changed either. I had to ask the front desk for clean towels, and the first thing out of the persons mouth is " I am the only one here but I will have towels when you return to your […] room tonight. When I returned to the hotel and asked the front desk have they put towels in my room the gentleman handed me towel right at the front desk which I found to be unsanitary and totally unprofessional. The towel should have been put into my room and the dirty ones removed, but that did not happen. Also there was no room service, no ice on the floors which was very inconvenient, and the view of the room was the top of a roof which was very dirty. All is all this hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in and will not reserve again at this hotel or reccomend it to anyone. Les mer
