Nice hotel to stay in during the cold of winter. Direct internal access to the mall makes for easy access to shopping and restaurants. I would stay here again.

One of the rooms we booked on hotels.ca was not available and instead we got another that was not to our liking.

I stayed in the holiday Inn because I was going to the hockey game. Great location for this, because the LRT is very close and took me right to the game. I read a review about parking at the hotel not good, but I was happy with it, parked right next to the hotel, for an extra $10 fee. Clean place, great swimming pool for the kids.

Not happy here. No free parking at this hotel, its charged on top of your rate. As this is an older hotel, the walls are very thin, the mattresses worn out, and lights don't work in the elevator(to tell you what floor your going past), floor number signs are missing when the doors open. The hotel location was good. close to the subway which was handy. The front desk management was very very poor. They first of all assigned me to a one bed room instead of a two bed room even theough they knew I was checking in with another guy. This was just the start. After sorting that out I do to my room to find there was an open space where my fridge […] was supposed to be, but I never complained. Shortly after I decided to extend my stay for another night which I thought was not a hard task but soon realized different. The front desk lady then decided to inform me of every possible problem that might prevent me from being able to do this.... After calming her down she informed me that I never booked with the hotel directly so I would have to call hotels.com So I called and found out that there would be no problem staying another night, OH YA!!!! This is when I was informed that I would have to move to another room and I said if there is another double room available and they have not checked in why wouldnt you save the extra clean up cost and my inconvenience by leaving me in the same room. I was then told I would have to come back and check with the manager in an hour.... I then spent a majority of the rest of the day answering my door to cleaning staff who were trying to clean my room (that I booked for another night) God only knows where my luggage would have ended up should I have decided to leave the hotel for the afternoon.... Then on check out day the 2 elevator hotel was down to one because the service company was not called on saturday when it actually broke down. Instead they waited till Sunday (the most busiest day of the week for check out) to have the company show up. My recommendation to anyone planning on staying here is to book for all the nights in the beginning and don't plan on trying to extend your stay as it only confuses the staff. Good Luck!!! I booked a room 20 days ahead of the new year 2012. I thought they will give me a good room. Unfortunately the room they gave me has NO baseboard heating! The heating coil was icy cold. They just simply told me to turn on the ventilation fan and said this is the heat enough for me to warm up. But how can I fall in sleep with the loud humming noise? […] They also said the boiler was turned off. I told them to open the isolation valves of the baseboard heating coil but they were declined to do so. They don't realize they are talking with an HVAC maintenance engineer working in a hospital! They don't know how to lie and just treat people naive and low IQ. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel to anybody. Les mer

No complaints except when we checked out we left something in the room and they went missing called the hotel to ask if we could come get them and they said the cleaning staff hadn't found anything and there was nothing they could do. Our property went miSing and we weren't happy.

If you have stayed at one Express, most are the same setup. Stayed in one in Toronto 2 weeks ago, same layout, amenities etc. Clean, easy to check in, breakfast was decent, pool was good.

Although our room was very clean, we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the pool and hot tub. There were absolutely no towels left to use in the pool area or the workout room. The only towels to be seen were the dirty ones strewn about left lying on the floor.

Hotel was great the only issue I had or things I noticed was that the lobby had a leak in it and they had a little garbage can on the middle of the floor, I also found it a litle hard to sleep as I could really hear the people outside of the hotel and in the hallways and next rooms. the beds where so comfortable and the room was very clean and the staff […] where great and very helpful. "Very Unprofessional"
This was the worst experience I ever had at a hotel. The lady was so rude to me when I checked in. The pool was broken the first night and not very clean. There was a fire alarm at 1:30am... so everybody was down in the lobby and not one staff member told anybody what was going. Even after the firemen had left nobody said anything... everybody just […] started going up to their rooms. It took me 2 days for them to get my phone working in my room. And when they asked if I enjoyed my stay I told them all of this... and he just said "oh that unfortunate, I hope you'll stay with us again." Ha yeah right. Not impressed at all. Les mer
We will stay at this hotel next time we are in Edmonton. It was very reasonably priced, very clean and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good with a nice selection. If cleanliness and value are important to you I would recommend this hotel.

"Good location"
Very close to LRT station (which stops at the coliseum and Rexall Place). Really good family friendly pub just two blocks away. Cannot get cool air in the room in winter, so ask for a fan at check-in! (And cannot get hot air in summer, so be aware.) If travelling from the airport, take the Sky bus - MUCH less costly than a taxi. Kiosk is in the baggage […] claim area. Les mer
"Hotel needs to do a lot of maintenance."
Our stay was quite miserable. Our room was right underneath a staff party that kept us awake til all hours of the morning. Hearing heels jump to the loud & very clear strains of the Chicken Dance was a lowpoint! We were far too tired to move rooms at midnight & upon complaining in the morning were told that we should never have been put in that room […] because of the party! Also, the heat in our room did NOT work at all! The staff would come & "fix" the issue & for a short while we would have heat until the thermostat would not turn OFF the flow of heat & we would have to shut it down &, later, have the staff come & start it up again! The staff was polite & did their best, but the issues we had were overwhelming & we will not be staying there again. Les mer

The location of the hotel is very good,near downtown and accessible to transport outside the hotel there are taxi if you want to use it.Almost all the employees are very good except for some ladies who are on the reception desk who are not even bothered to explain where to go and whats next after giving the hotel key.this ladies needs training on PUblic […] Relation .they have to look for their guest regardless of color or race.specially the white ladies on the reception desk.who seems their smile is so precious.this kind of employees needs to be behind the desk not infront.aside from that people are so helpful specially kitchen staff and cleaning staff,they will do everything just to please the guest.thank you very much.I'm looking forward of coming back to the same hotel and i will see if this ladies on the reception will changed the way they deal with guest. thank you Les mer
