Hvis man leter etter et stille sted ved kysten av New England så er Jamestown ideelt, og dette hotellet et godt valg. Kort kjøretur til Newport, og med Boston, Cape Cod og Plymouth innenfor en dagsturs avstand. Hotellet har en klassisk og særpreget stil, og ligger med fin utsikt utover sjøen og brua til Newport. Restauranten var dessverre stengt fra søndag til tirsdag. Det er andre gode restauranter innenfor gangavstand, men ikke mange å velge mellom.

Flott hotell med god standard og super beliggenhet; sentralt, men ingen støy. Nytt og elegant. En positiv opplevelse, god valuta for pengene.

"Knapt verdt prisen"
Newport er en idyllisk liten by mellom New York og Cape Cod. Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina ligger fint til nede ved havnen, men det er vel også det beste som kan sies om stedet. Det hele begynte dårlig når vi fikk tildelt et rom med en seng, selv om vi hadde bestilt og betalt for rom med to senger. Det beste betjeningen kunne tilby var en feltseng "free […] of charge"... Virker som om enkelte hoteller nedprioriterer bestillinger fra Hotels.com og andre søketjenester. Hotellet var trolig en perle på 80-tallet, men kunne trengt litt modernisering. Les mer

"Disappointing Conditions"
The hotel is well located and central to the various wharfs in Newport. The disappointment was with the condition of the premises (substandard), numerous things not functioning, and inability to satisfactorily address the issues. Will not return.
"Could have been better"
I wish I could have rated the hotel better, but there were several things that detracted from a great rating. For one thing, we had to complain twice about standing water in our tub before it was fixed. Our coffeemaker didn't work, and the vent in the bathroom whistled so loud that we had to keep the door closed. The lock on the sliding door was loose […] and so flimsy that a couple of pushes would have snapped it off. In addition, there were two loud parties on our floor, which was just past the reception area. I called after midnight to complain and the issue was addressed within 5 minutes, but I shouldn't have had to call. They could hear the noise at the reception desk and should have taken care of it before my call. Now, the good things - the location was really good - close to everything. We were given a ground floor room with a king bed that overlooked the marina, and there were Adirondack chairs where we sat and had wine and cheese. That was really lovely, and the staff was very friendly. I wish there had been a hot tub next to the pool, but the indoor pool looked very nice as well. I probably would stay again, but don't expect perfection. Les mer

Checking in on a Friday at 6:15pm, our room was not ready until 8pm, which was very disappointing. That said, the front desk personnel and bar staff were great and very accommodating (free drinks while we waited, and free breakfast). Operations of the hotel should be evaluated to avoid issues like that, as check-in should not be 5 hours late in such […] a small hotel, and it was unfortunate that front desk and bar staff were put in a tough spot with potentially angry clientele. Overall the hotel was very nice. The staff could have been a bit more cordial and the hotel wasn't a 100% clean and needed some repair. But the location made up for it. Centrally located and in walking distance to most. Located right on the marina.

Last minute plan for a night in Newport. Excellent rate. Room wasn't ready due to laundry issues. Took our cell, offered us breakfast the next morning. Staff very professional. Would definately go back.

"Fantastic All Around"
From the frinedly staff to the beautiful surroundings, this was a fantastic place to stay. The room was comfortable and quiet and despite having children in rooms on both sides our stay was peaceful and relaxing. The hotel is well-kept and very conveniently located. We will return for sure. I think my husband and I have found our spot!
Awesome! walking distance to everything but far enough away to get a great nights sleep. Very clean! Very comfortable and very acomodating! Great breakfast!

The hotel is nice enough.. but not anywhere near as fancy as the pictures look online...the rooms are small and have a window - not a sliding glass door... there are small repair issues that just make it obvious that it isn't as "high class" as they want you to think (I.s. the toilet paper holder bracket was broken ..and the maid didn't unwrap a roll […] for us...small things like that).. Also HOTELS.com says they have pay movies.. they do not.. you can rent a DVD player and connect to netflix, etc.. but they don't have pay per view Les mer

This hotel is conveniently located in downtown Newport R.I.. The room is very clean, the staff is polite and the rate is attractive. We had a great time because everything is within walking distance. I would definately recommend this hotel.

The room was good - comfortable and clean, and the pool and sauna were great, but the main complaint I had was that the walls were incredibly thin. We could hear the group in the next room so clearly they might as well have been in our room, and others in rooms around us too.

The hotel is very comfortable and since its recent renovations it is more modern. Fabulous harbor views and centrally located so other than a ride to the beach/coast line all the best shops and dining are a walk away. The short drive to mansions for a tour or the Newport Vineyard is quick also because of the central location. The best thing about this hotel is the location - we parked our car and didnt touch it again until we left for home! "The Hotel NH&M in Rhode Island"
From the moment my husband and I stepped foot in the hotel we felt the gracious ambiance from the staff. Check in was very smooth with no wait. Our room overlooked the harbor.....what more could you ask for!! The room was cozy and the room temperature was pleasant. We never moved our car during our stay. We walked to all the great stores, restaurants, […] and scenic attractions. The mansions were something we weren't expecting, but enjoyed thoroughly. We look forward to our next visit to the hotel. "Pleasantly surprised"
We stayed at the Newport Harbor Hotel and Marina this past weekend and I must say I was a bit nervous because of all the past reviews I read about this place, but it was wonderful! We had originally booked the cheapest room they offered on the first floor but when we arrived we were told that we were going to be on the fourth floor. When we got to the […] room we realized we had been upgraded to a better room than we were supposed to have. The room was extremely clean and the bed were actually of higher quality than most hotel rooms. The mattresses appeared brand new and had that really nice pillowtop on it. The furniture was really cute and appeared to be brand new or at least in very very good condition. The bathroom was very clean and the vanity/sink area appeared to have been updated recently. All in all, the room was really really nice. You may have read reviews saying the walls are very thin so you have to be quiet. We didn't really have any problems with hearing our neighbors or anything like that. Our room was across from the ice machine and we barely heard that. This hotel is a great value and in the perfect location right on the marina and across the street from the town! I would highly recommend staying here when you're in Newport! Les mer

The Newport Harbor Motel & Marina has the best location. Close to all the great restaurants and shopping not to mention being right on the marina itself. Wonderful to look out the window and see boats and water. Walking distance to everything.

My husband have stayed here before and enjoyed it but this time there were some things that we thought weren't too great. 1) the heating system was poor because before the heat would go on cool air would come out and then when shutting off heat, cool air would come out again. 2) We felt the food selection for dinner was not much of a selection. 3)Finally, […] when leaving on Sunday, check out time is 11:00 am so when returning to our room after having breakfeast it was a little after 11 and our keys to the room wouldn't work because the room wasn't ours anymore. We thought and have found with other hotels that there is a grace period for atleast 1 hour. We were locked out of our room and had to have it unlocked to get our belongings. We left at 11:30, only a half an our later. We felt rushed and thought that was rude. Les mer

The hotel has an excellent location and is very clean. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, the town, and the visitors center which has buses and trolleys to the mansions and vineyard. 5 minute drive to the mansions and cliffwalk. The Mooring restaurant was excellent.

The room was super clean, the bed was big and comfortable, the view of the harbor was lovely and although the bathroom was a bit small, it was comfortable, clean and everything functioned! Don't spend the extra cash at the big name hotels in the area, you will not miss anything other than extra cash in your pocket. I would stay here again and refer […] friens and family. Wonderful time here! The location of the hotel is delightful, right on the water. Rooms are very nice. I did not eat at the hotel so I cannot comment on the food. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative thing was the condition of the pool. It could use some renovation.
