"Fantastic Accomodation!"
Loved the Plantation Inn. Such comfortable beds and luxurious linens. Beautiful grounds and location. Will definitely stay again when in Crystal River.

"paper thin walls"
This is a really nice place but the walls are paper thin. The desk clerk wouldn't match the on line rate so I went to the car and used my iPad to book trough Expedia. We were put in the last building with several very disrespectful families with small kids. It wasn't the kids. The moms and dads were way louder until midnight. I called the front desk […] to complain and security came right up but the loud conversations and door slamming didn't stop until midnight for two nights. Then the kids started screaming at 7:30am. I talked to the desk clerk when checking out and he said they were "trying to figure out a way to solve this problem." Don't stay here if you plan to get to sleep before midnight. But, if you have total lack of consideration for other guests, raise heck until midnight each night and don't care what time your kids get to sleep, this place if for you!! Les mer
"Perfect Florida Nature Getaway!"
The Dive Show was wonderful and the hot tub after snorkling with Manatees was perfect! My kids were welcome and felt right at home. Only problem... we only stayed on night!

The hotel was on a great setting. Pool was great, restaurant food was fantastic. The front desk gave us poor information on boat rentals. The service at the restaurant at dinner was sooo slow. Morning was better. The rooms are clean, but the walls are paper thin. Heard lot of doors all night long.

It is a majestic looking hotel right on the river. You can look at the river and the boats going by from the nice pool and hot tub out back. You can do a Manatee tour at the Dive shop or take a boat out on your own. We never went to the town but did go out for dinner at one of the many restaurants nearby. The area we saw was nothing special and full […] of several strip malls, typical of Florida unfortunately. We only stayed one night. The room was nice but we could not figure out the AC remote in the middle of the night, and until we figured it out, it got very warm and stuffy. The woman at the front desk at 11PM was not able to help us as the maintenance staff had already gone home. Overall, it was a nice hotel and I would recommend it. Les mer

This place is one of the nicer places to stay in Crystal River. The property is beautiful and the accommodations were good. They could use a bit of an update though. The staff was friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Crystal River.

Staff was very friendly and the grounds were well kept. The room was clean. Hall rugs should be cleaned. Overall a very nice hotel and would stay there again shall I ever be back in that area.

The facilities in the room are very old and dirty. The restroom was disaster. The team is very unpleasant!! They don't even try to solve your problems and help you. We were very disappointment
I would have rated the room 5 stars but the room was not "made up" the second day of our stay. The cleaning people were load and obnoxious if you did not leave the room prior to 9 AM and that is the reason I would not return. There needs to be a complete overhall of the environmental department.

This is a wonderful place. Situated in the Real Florida as it once was. Nothing reminds you of Orlando and Miami. Authentic Florida and next to the Gulf Of Mexico. The rooms are spacious and trip you down memory lane. No skyscrapers, but huge bungalows. Plantation style. that is. All the rooms will have been refurbished by the end of 2011. "Not exactly a resort - but nice grounds"
The hotel is old but well managed. The surrounding river areas and grounds are beautiful and it is close to everything you need. The pictures are rather deceiving and make the condition out to be much better than it really is. I would stay here again but not for much more than a normal chain hotel.

"Pretty, Needs Some Work, Pool is open to Public"
We chose this hotel as a spot to stay for our anniversary for one night on our way through Florida. We called to see if our room might be ready at 2pm, when we'd be arriving. They told us most likely. When we arrived we were told they are never ready early (?) We were told the dining room would be open at 5pm, but then were told it wouldn't be open […] that night or the next day due to the holiday - front desk staff was either new or confused. We walked out to the pool to see about going for a dip before we got in out room. Hugely crowded pool and bar area, and we saw many people pull up their boats and come right into the pool area and dump buckets of their trash in the hotel containers. Odd. Then we saw a sign noting that the pool is only closed to non-hotel guests on two days of the week! So anyone can come use this pool, and clearly, they did. People smoked in the pool, brought cans of beer in the pool, brought babies in non-pool diapers into the water. It was pretty gross. The hotel does not provide towels poolside, so you'd have to bring your own, if you wanted to get in. We chose to wait until the dinner hours when most families had gone to dinner. We made a reservation for a king room, but the front desk sent us to a room with two double beds. I called up front, and could hear the receptionist speaking to a manager about how they would charge me for an upgrade to a king. I pulled up the hotels.com reservation on my iphone and told her that we reserved and paid for a king, and that if they didn't have one for us, we would leave and they would have to refund our payment. They found us a king, which was very lovely, but less so since we had to traipse through the property twice to get the right room. The buildings themselves need some TLC - carpets for stained, walls need new paint. To call it a resort is a bit of a stretch, as it's not like any resort I've been to. We did like the location and its proximity to historic downtown and nearby springs. Les mer

Family friendly and good location for boating and fishing. The hotel is a little tired and needs updated. The staff is helpful and friendly but there have clearly been budget cuts. No room service, tiki bar opened late, pool was a little dirty. Room was not updated but clean and roomy. "Nice with a Caviat"
This hotel is in a nice setting but is an older property. Because of the age it is harder to maintain a fresh clean smell. Obviously pest control is an issue as well.

"Excellent for golfers, nature and relax seekers"
This hotel is conveniently located off a main road and easily reachable by car. If flying, Tampa int'l airport is linked to this area through a toll road: 1 hour and a half and you're there. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly, beds and pillows very comfortbale and clean, like the bathroom. Bathrooms are on the small side, but they come […] with tub and shower for everyone's taste. The Restaurant food is very good and breakfast was a nice buffet at a very good price. Their bar (with an exceptionally nice and very well mannered bar tender gentleman), offers a nice array of drinks and a very nice bar menu. The bar closes early: this is no spring break college party place. They welcome anyone but good behaviour is stricly advised. This is what we liked the most: we went for a relaxing weekend getaway and despite the many events (rarely so many at one time!), we were able to enjoy all the amenities and sleep without any disturbance. Their complimentary "cucumber water" got us through the day, until it was time for a delicious margarita or a daiquiri. "Tranquil Escape"
When I arrive at the Plantation Golf Resort and Spa, I felt as if I was pulling up to an old Georgia Mansion. As I entered the lobby I notice this huge spiral staircase and was greeted immediately by one of the hotel staff. My room was immaculate. This hotel has something for everyone. If you like to golf the golf club is right across the street, with […] an 18 hole champion course and a 9 hole executive course. If you like to fish or boat, bring your boat there is a boat ramp right around the corner from the hotel and hotel is located right on the Crystal River. There is a sand volleyball court, croquet setup and a shuffle board. The reason I was at the hotel was for a wedding. My friend got married just around the corner and had the reception at the hotel. The service for the reception was outstanding, sit down dinner, more than enough servers. I believe there was even another wedding at the hotel the same night, and I believe that they got married on the groups at the gazebo on the grounds of the hotel, which is on a peninsula behind the hotel with the Crystal River surrounding you. "Didn't play golf, but the hotel is fantastic"
I highly recommend a stay here. The staff was friendly, the whole place was clean, and the building has been there awhile. Give you an old world feel. Didn't play the course, but plan to go back and check it out.

I really liked the room - first time I've stayed in the new Rose wing. The only thing negative was that the room wasn't cleaned. I left at around 10 AM so there should have been ample time. I don't think there was a sign to put on the door asking for cleaning. And it wasn't a big deal, if I had been concerned about it I would have called the desk.

This was a last minute booking based on a search for "Manatees". The hotel's website showed no rooms available, however, Hotels.com was able to secure a reservation with no trouble at a great price. What a pleasant surprise! The Plantation Golf Resort and Spa is a recently refurbished old style Florida hotel. We stayed in the newest wing, added in […] 2008. The room was large, comfortable and charming in decor. The hotel dining room was an additional treat with great service and reasonable prices and a menu of familiar standards. There is a lovely pool to lounge beside if you are not playing golf. We did neither, but did enjoy one of the many "Dive with the Manatees" boat tours. Not many kids here so the atmosphere was restful and laid back. Great for a recuperative weekend. Housekeeping was nearly invisible and the front desk and dining room staff were most attentive. I would not hesitate to go back to this little gem on the nature coast of Florida in Crystal River. Les mer
"Beautiful resort"
Whether you're a golfer or there to enjoy the beach, this is a great place to stay. The rooms were spacious and well appointed, the meals were good and the service superior. I am going to bring my sister back for one of their gold schools.

We stayed here while looking for investment property in the area. Services was great, others told us how nice the golf course was. The bar and restaurant served great drinks and food. Fitness room was well equipped. Enjoyed our stay, would stay again.
The hotel was nicely located. If you are looking for an up to date modern room, this isn't your place. But, the grounds and staff were nice.

"Takes you back to good old Florida as it should be"
The Plantation Inn is a great place to spend the weekend for golf or to enjoy nature. The hotel is a throwback to old Florida and a great deal for the money. We visited Rainbow Springs, Cedar Key and Fort Island Beach while in the area. The Crystal River Springs are a must especially if you have a boat which can be docked at the hotel.Also worth taking […] is the drive 10 miles out to Ozello for some stunning scenery and a great seafood dinner at the Old Port Cove. "Location is nice but not worth it."
They did not honor the king bed reservation. Said it was too bad its run of the house even though i had an option to book 2 doubles or a king when i paid. Hotel is run down and room smelled of mold and smoke. Tons of local kids were allowed to pay and use the pool and hot tub.
"Very Pleasant"
We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was well situated and the the room was clean and comfortable. We do not golf, so I can not say anything about the golf course. We enjoyed the pool. It sits right on the canal, which makes for a relaxing atmosphere. We would stay here again.

Plantation is very convenient for snorkeling with the manatees. We saw one in the waterway behind the hotel.The golf course is gorgeous.

Superbe piscine au bord de la rivière. Bel hotel. Déco un peu classique à mon gout et salle à manger sombre.
