Flott beliggenhet, nær strand og restauranter. Veldig små rom. Stille nabolag selv om det ligger "midt på stripa". Vennlig betjening.

Hotellet ligger nesten øverst på Ocean Drive - perfekt beliggenhet bare få minutters gange fra "alt" på South Beach, samtidig som det er relativt stille og rolig rundt hotellet (de fleste utestedene ligger litt lenger ned i gaten). Stranden er rett over veien. Man får låne strandstoler og -hånklær på hotellet. Parkering i området koster litt, men det […] finnes flere P-hus. Frokosten på hotellet ver OK, men ikke kom i site liten, for da er utvalget dårlig! Det mest negative med hotellet var betjeningen, som generelt var litt ite serviceinnstilte...OBS! Vi måtte betale et ekstra "gebyr" for frokost etc da vi sjekket inn. Kunne ikke velge bort dette. Dette ble det ikke opplyst om i bookingen. Les mer

Du betaler for beliggenheten. Den er det ingen ting å si på. Frokosten var OK (Vaffel med sirup, eller toast med syltetøy) Rommet var rent og pent. Sjøgløttet vi betalte for var minimalt. Vinduene var ikke vasket.

...vær kresen ved valg av romkategori. Vi har overnattet ved flere titalls hoteller i store deler av USA, i alle slags kategorier, og kan anbefale Winterhaven, men velg rom som minst har "havgløtt". Ved vårt siste besøk her var vi på bryllupsreise og hadde bestilt havgløtt, da fikk vi et rom hvor man så rett på en hvit vegg (ca 10m fra vinduet vårt), […] vi måtte presse ansiktet mot vinduet for å se havet... Da kan man trygt kalle det "gløtt"... Vi var nok uheldige, og ved å forklare resepsjonisten at dette var de siste nettene på bryllupsreisen vår og at vi hadde håpet å se litt mer enn en vegg, så gikk han etterhvert med på å bytte rommet vårt. I fjor hadde vi et nydelig rom på hjørnet av bygget, i 4. etasje, det hadde en nydelig utsikt og var av god størrelse. I år endte vi opp med et rom i 3. etasje midt på (hotellet har 3 rom mot havet i hver etasje, 2 på hjørnene og et i midten, som vi fikk nå). Så vi fikk vel forsåvidt viljen vår, med unntak av at resepsjonisten hadde glemt at palmekronene dekket til utsikten fra dette rommet... Så når du booker rom her, velg rom hvor ord som "Mot havet" eller "Solgløtt" er nevnt, ellers kan du risikere å komme i nærheten av en heis (som bråker), mot en hvit vegg, eller mot bakgatene... Når det gjelder beliggenhet syns vi hotellet ligger perfekt til på South Beach. Det ligger ganske langt opp, vekk fra bråket fra utestedene, men allikevel bare 3 min. gange unna, og med Miami Beach rett over veien. Handlegatene rundt Lincoln Avenue er bare 15-20 min. gange unna (eller $10 taxitur), mens Collins Ave. ligger rett bak hotellet, paralellt med Ocean Drive (som hotellet ligger på). Her har man alt man trenger, i umiddelbar nærhet, uten å merke bråket rundt det. Herlig. Ellers fremstår hotellet som rent og pent, med de fleste bekvemmeligheter man trenger, satt inn i et historisk miljø. The room was very small. The light didnt work on the night stand only a bright light on the fan that you could not dim. The fan didnt work and the ac was not blowing hard at all. The noise in the hall from people coming and going was very loud at all times.

Room was very clean, neat and modern. Room was very small. Bathroom was very tiny but modern and clean. Only room for one in bathroom. No refrigerator or coffee in room. No cups or ice bucket. Valet parking was somewhat cumbersome. I would recommend self parking in the public garage one block away, which is probably where they park anyhow. The location was really good. Very close to everything. Easy to get to by bus. The rooms are very small, I had read about that in the previous reviews so was not surprised. The bathrooms are even smaller. The door and the shower door collided when open at the same time. There is no where to put any stuff at all. The air conditioner was really loud as […] well as the elevator (our room was right by the elevator). There was no continental breakfast as stated by Hotels.com, just an overpriced restaurant. And the restaurant out front made it nearly impossible to get in the front door without dodging the entire wait staff just standing in the way. A year ago, we had visited South Beach and were taken with how open the front of the Winterhaven seemed, how open the lobby was, that is why we decided to stay there this year, but in a quest to use every square inch for money making, they have bogged down the front like every other place on the beach. The hotel rooms are absolutely beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. If you want to have a real South Beach experience, the location of the hotel couldn't be better!

GREAT location and wonderful staff. No hidden fees. Public parking garage just a few blocks away and across the street from the beach. It doesn't get any better than this!

Overall very nice. Right on the beach and in the middle of all the nightlife. Rooms a little small and can be noisy at night. Restaurant and bar in hotel quite good. Good choice for south beach stay.

If you're looking for a big room and bathroom this is not for you - but if you want the Art Deco experience of a smaller hotel with lots of funky style then you'll love this. Hotel windows cannot be opened. Temperature of airco cannot be changed. Room gets very cold, therefore airco turned off, but during the night it gets too warm, so airco to be turned on and then it gets too cold again. Room very small, bathroom also very small. Great Hotel, good value, just taken over by new management we are told, reception was very nice and helpful, bedrooms clean, new and stylish, even though it's a 1930's building, it felt like staff cared about the place. Only weakness I experienced was the ability of "one" of the breakfast staff to understand English and the difference between Bread […] and Toast? I guess this is just part of the Miami experience! This was my 4th time to stay at the Winter Haven. I keep going back because the location is perfect, but I've always wished the rooms were a little nicer and the staff would be a little more friendly and helpful. Well, I've finally gotten my wish. The hotel has been remodeled and the rooms are super nice now. And I was surprised at how professional […] and helpful the staff were. Front desk quickly resolved issue I had with the prepaid reservation. My only complaint is that there is no ice machine anywhere in the hotel. But there is an ice bucket in my room??? This was a GREAT Location and Value!!! The room was better than other similar rated hotels in the same area where I stayed. The only problem was the ceiling fan controls were not user friendly and the TV malfunctioned.

First time out here.. Wasn't getting in till 5:30 in the morning si didn't want to spend to much money for a few hours to lay my head down. Check in was quick and friendly. Beds were super comfortable and room was clean got all my monies worth and more. At check out we were going to walk around as the hotel is located in a great location and right across […] the street from the beach, the friendly stuff asked if we needed anything else and afford to hold our bags till we were ready to go to our next stop!! The hotel is in the heart of south beach but in a quiet place and just in front of the beach. The room is clean, with a renovated bathroom. Staff is very nice.

Its a good place to stay if your not there very long, I only have two issues with hotel one, that the hotel did not have a vending machine ( yes so staying here your going to have to walk eight blocks to walgreens or drink Miami's nasty tap water. Secondly there is no pool at the hotel.

We loved our all-too-short stay at Winter Haven - a perfect location on Ocean Drive, a beautiful art deco hotel that is wonderfully maintained and with great, tasteful decor that matches the hotel's exterior - I felt transported back to the 1930's in the best way possible. The room itself was beautiful, smelled great, was cool, clean, and inviting. […] As for the service - we were enamored by the wonderful lady who welcomed us at check in - so friendly!!! My family loved the Winter Haven! It's a nice Art Deco hotel that has been recently restructured. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms smelled clean (yes, there were a few spots on the carpet, but nothing I would consider a deal breaker), the bathrooms are brand new, the staff was really nice (particularly, Mariya, I hope I spelled that right!). […] We did valet parking for our cars, but there is a public parking a few blocks away. The location is great: right across from the ocean and Lummus Park (you can see the palms from the hotel lobby), within walking distance to Lincoln Road and Espanola Way. We had children with us and we felt the area immediately close to the hotel was really safe (we did not go out very late at night, though). The hotel has a deck on the 6th floor with a nice view on the area and the ocean. The front porch is a great place to people-watch. Breakfast was fine, although they might have needed a few more tables. There were bagels, muffins, cereals, pastries, milk, coffee, tea, yogurt and fruit. Front desk staff was great both at check-in and departure. They also were helpful in recommendations at other times. The room was a little small for family of 4 but we were not in it much so really not an issue. The location was great. They are currently preparing to start a resturant in lobby and front porch. The hotel was at a great location. The hotel was still being updated but it is in very good shape. The only downside was the elevator made alot of noise all night long.

Had an absolute wonderful stay at the Winter Haven hotel which is located just across the ocean. Walking distance to all the best restaurants and night festivities. Arrived on 7/4 and watched the fireworks on the beach. When we checked in the people at the front desk gave us information on great places to eat. The food was excellent. The modest $10/day […] fee which is for snacks, towels, and internet was great just for the internet. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Bathroom was a little small w/shower only. Had a problem with a jack hammer on Friday morning starting at 7:30 which was not pleasant. The hotel is still undergoing some renovations and is putting in a kitchen. When I mentioned the noice to the front desk - they had Brandon (the manager) contact me. He apologized and gladly took off the $40 fee for my entire stay, plus when I got back to the room, there were two bottles of wine, 2 bottles of Figi water and cookies. This was a nice touch. Any questions I had, the folks at the front desk were happy to help. There is also a very nice top floor patio w/outside shower that I didn't know about until my last day. Very happy with the hotel and definately planning a return trip very soon to stay again at the Winter Haven hotel. Les mer

the beds were too small for us, we were a family of 4 adults and was very very tight to sleep. the rest of the bedroom was perfect.
