It was a nice Mexican hotel to say in, good value for our money, but we did have some glitches...our room door lock didn't work all the time and we moved to another room and had a housekeeping issue but staff was very attentive to keep us happy. Rooms basic, no safe, no chain on door, no sink stoppers....fortunately I didn't lose any jewelry down the […] drain! Food and restaurant service was great....nice beach, with a few rocks and plant growth in the water....jacuzzi not functioning...loved the pool area though....and ease of water sports like snorkeling, scuba, spa, kayaking... the exercise gym was lacking but I didn't want to use it anyway as I was on vacation! A beautiful location but due to weather issues, the hotel needs some maintenance. The rooms are small but acceptable and it was clean. The food in the restaurant was excellent. A nice place to stay for a night or two.

I paid a lot less than the other resorts in the area which may have been "fancier", but this place is just as nice and well worth the savings!

Nice family hotel right on the beach. Excellent food at the restaurant. Friendly staff - very clean pool and grounds. Rooms a little run down but overall an excellent place to stay. Free pedal boats and kayaks for guests. Beach towels provided.

I will be phoning Expedia tomorrow . A fight broke out between 2 local men that ran up onto the property, in the outdoor bar after dark (7PM) within an hour after our arrival, which shook us up. We liked this hotel; the only downsides were the stony driveway and parking lot, too bumpy to believe, and the lack of signage to find it in the dark on arrival. The 4 of us, wife and I and two daughters, had large free breakfasts, and enjoyed the facilities and quiet but gorgeous location and grounds. This hotel has a beautiful location and view. Everyone is very pleasant and accomodating, as well as English speaking. The dining room is beautifully situatied near to the pool with a dynamic view of the Sea. We will stay again!

Very nicely set-up Hotel but it definitely needs an uplift. Even if you don't stay there you need to go to their restaurant. The food and service are outstanding and prices were very reasonable.

Hotel looks pretty nice in the common areas. The beach, pool, sunsets, etc are wonderful. The room, however, was dreadful. The bed was lumpy, hard, and old. Sheets and linens look like something scavenged from a thrift store dumpster. There was no where comfortable to sit or lay in the room. Finally on three of the nights we stayed (we stayed 7 nights total) there were *REALLY* LOUD and obnoxious wedding parties that carried on late into the night. The worst one played ear splitting doof doof music at full blast for hours. It was like trying to sleep inside a stereo speaker. We couldn't watch TV because we couldn't hear. We could barely talk to each other. We almost checked out and cancelled our stay because it was so bad. We complained to front desk because we were litterally being doof doofed out of our room. They pretty much told us there was nothing they could do. We asked to speak with the manager but she wasn't available. We checked back the next day and she wasn't there again. Anyways it wasn't a totally bad stay but I probably wouldn't go back. We booked because it was supposed to be a quiet private beach just out of La Paz. Next time I would just stay right downtown. Despite the low reviews, we gave this hotel and shot and loved it. We stayed two nights, the room was fair, flat screen TV, AC, small balcony, ocean view... The grounds were fabulous. Well maintained, lots of fun statues. The service was great, very friendly and helpful. The location is just outside of town. If you are into running, you can run the […] Malecon all the way into town. the beach is nice, there are kayaks free to use if you are into that sort of thing. The Cortez Club Dive Center is right next door, with dive and snorkeling trips. The hot tub was empty which is disappointing. We don't smoke, but ended up in a smoking room. We love La Concha! Found it by mistake last year on our honeymoon and came back this year for our first anniversary. It is charming, quiet and right on the beach. Every room has an ocean view and you can wake up to the sound of the Sea of Cortez. La Concha isn't hoity toity or pretentious; there's no golf carts zooming around. I love Mexico! I live in San Diego and go to Tijuana, Ensenada, San Felipe and Cancun often. This was our first trip to La Paz and can honestly say my girlfriend and I had the best vacation ever. La Concha is the best hotel in La Paz. There aren't a lot of kids there to ruin your relaxing time, it is the only hotel in La Paz with a beach, and it is […] quiet, friendly, perfectly located, and clean. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. If you like to snorkel, the reef right off the beach of La Concha is beautiful. Downtown is less than a 10 minute drive, the beaches of Balandra and Tecolote are 20 minutes, the airport is about 25 minutes. I definitely recommend this beautiful place. My family and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel! It was secluded but close enough to town. The resturnat was amazing! The prices for drinks and such were a little pricey though. All in all the view was the most amazing sight ever!

There are many reviews already written about this hotel but I just finished a five night stay there and would like to add my review. The La Concha Hotel is located about five miles out of La Paz, Baja California Sur. It is a 100 peso cab ride to and from the center of town from the hotel. The hotel provides two free shuttle buses leaving the hotel in […] the morning and returning from a pickup point a few hours later. Someone in another review suggested that the hotel needs to run at least one shuttle to town in the afternoon. This would be an excellent idea. The rooms are small, so don't expect a lot. The hotel is located on the Gulf of California/Sea of Cortez amid beautiful surroundings with some magnificient sunsets. The hotel includes free internet access and provides free use of the kayaks, paddles, and life preservers. The kayaks are a lot of fun and it's great to have them included. My plan included an American breakfast each morning served outdoors with a lovely view of the sea, the swimming pool, and the grounds, with excellent service. Les mer

This hotel is hard to find, the signage is only on one side of the road. Our room smelled of sewage, they were nice enough to move us. The second room was fine, very basic, but did the job. The staff, location, room was excellent. It is an older hotel but overall it was great. A private beach that was groomed every morning. The Cortez Club was right there where excursions into the bay and sea of cortez could be booked. We went in mid-Nov and the weather was excellent and we virtually had the hotel, beach, bar, restaurant to ourselves. […] Couldn't have been better. La Concha's rooms aren't great. They're adequate but not luxurious. The owners seems to be investing in building the adjacent condos, which are nicer. The public spaces are nice and the food is above average and well-priced; I especially liked the filet mignon, the breakfast burrito, the breakfast buffet, and the coffee. I was attending a medical Spanish […] course and the service (coffee, fresh juices, rolls/muffins, ice water) really helped in the mornings. The staff were all very nice and helpful. La Concha resort was a little ways from town, about 5-6 kilometers, should have a rental car if you stay here and plan on traveling around. The driveway in/out was very rough on the vehicle, they have had extra rain and it may have been due to the weather. The first night was quite noisy until about midnight due to a wedding party. The room was clean when we arrived and cleaned everyday and everything worked as expected. I find that in Mexico they like very firm beds, have had one every year for the last 5 years down there. A beautiful beach out back, the nicest one of all the hotels I've stayed at, along with a nice pool. They have sit on kayaks available at no extra cost for your use. We drove to La Paz from Loreto for the weekend. We had a nice 3rd floor room with a balcony and an pool and ocean view. The property has a nice pool, outdoor bar and a nice beach with palapas and beach chairs. The ate breakfast with fresh juices. We read all the reviews before booking our stay. The pool was a big draw as was the hotel being on the beach. The pool was not opened, the A/C was on in our room for 6 hrs and still it was not cool. The staff did move us to another room with no problems. We do not have high expectations BUT the hotel is in desperate need of renovations or it will be […] left behind with all the newer, smaller and cheaper hotels that are popping up all over La Paz. I was overwhelmed by the hospitality and warmth of the staff as well as the breathtaking location. The building, however, needs some TLC. Slow drains and peeling paint made my otherwise clean and comfortable room seem shabby.

Writing this review July 22 after a short stay at La Concha. Room very small with no view (in mine at least).. No shade available near pool. Vapor room and sauna out of order until further notice. Jacuzzi not in service. Those are 2 reasons that we stayed at hotel. Check out staff rude and had hickeys (yes those disgusting things that teenager put all […] over each other) all over. Totally inappropriate for working front desk. Food was not bad, but I think over priced and I live in Mexico full time. Beach in front nice for swim. Pool was open to 10 pm which was nice to go fir night swim. Corridor door outside our room open and closed all night constantly waking up my baby. Very restless night. Decent breakfast. Most of the hotel staff (Housekeeping and the food service) were pleasant and hardworking, definitely interested in making your stay enjoyable. Overall our stay was pleasant, although it didn't meet expectations. The hotel is aging and tended to by staff. Restaurant - the Chef's Special Fish (w/potato crust) and Fish soup were quite good, Maragaritas […] even better. The Hotel has a free shuttle to town, but you have to "discover" it on your own. Otherwise moving about requires Taxi service and rental cars. Single/double rooms are very small and the beds were rock hard. The Hotel also books parties and weddings on the weekends so don't expect it to be quiet until midnight or later on Friday and Saturday nights. Les mer

How many hotels are there in La Paz on the beach for this price? None I'm sure. How many have restaurants with great tasting food and low prices. La Concha is the best. Remote would be nice for the air conditioner and more options for controls. Some rooms have a balcony overlooking the beautiful ocean for the same price. Restaurant good, but it's tough to find a Mexican hotel where the restaurant is bad. On the sand and right next to a sportfishing dock, a couple miles out of town. This is the best value for your dollar that we could see for La Paz. the Location is terrific in that it is not too far from town but enough that is is peaceful and quiet. The combination of beach (with good snorkling), pool, restarant, spa, and pier(Cortez club) is hard to beat. The food is good. The staff is friendly and the view is perfect.

Got bit by a few mosquitoes that had ventured into the room. Swimming pool was uninviting due to things floating in the water from surrounding flora. Room was a bit inadequately provided for, for example there was one glass, no hand towels etc.

The Hotel is older but the rooms are decent enough, The bed was firm which I liked. The food at the Hotel was good. The biggest problem that I had with this Hotel was that 4 out of the 7 nights we stayed,their was a large group of people who gathered accross the street from the hotel starting at 11:00 p.m. and staying until 4:00 to 5:00 am. all the […] while playing music so loud that the base literally viberated the front door. The first night it happened, I called the front desk and was told that they had allready called the police several times but they had not shown yet. The location was great, slightly out of town, but a quick drive and/or long walk. The views were beautiful and the setting spectacular. The room came with American breakfast, which includes fruit, eggs, toast, bacon/ham. The dining room was convenient and great food and service. The hotel was great. It's a little bit away from downtown Le Paz but we really liked this and hired bikes to travel in and out. The hotel is really attractive and the gardens are nice. It has it's own little private beach next to a public beach which is lovely, and the rooms look out on the ocean. There is a spa there and we had a deep tissue massage […] which was great and I would recommend.The food overal was good and the included breakfast was good value especially once it was spring break and there was a buffet. The staff were also really accomodating if you wanted something that wasn't part of the buffet. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our only gripe was getting into our room. It's a card system and our cards didn't work well at all. We would end up having to run back down the two flights of stairs quite a lot of the time to get the magnetic system cleaned or our cards re-swiped. We had a couple of times when we were charged on our bill for something we hadn't ordered but this was rectified when we pointed it out. Would definitely go back there. Les mer

Fabulous location - especially if you want to dive, fish or snorkel. Dive outfit - The Cortez Club - is right on site. It's a 10 minute cab ride outside La Paz itself so away from the crowds. Friendly staff.

Great older Mexican style hotel. Beautiful grounds very relaxing and romantic. Stayed only one night and will come back and stay a week next time. This hotel/resort has obviously fallen on hard times. Although the staff was friendly, the hotel is in sad shape. The beds are hard as a rock!!! The food is mediocre at best. It is not within walking distance to the local shops etc. I have stayed at many 3 star hotels in Mexico and I would rate this at a 2 or less.

The staff was extremley eager to please. The food in the restaurant was excellent. But the room was old and musty smelling. But, I would recommend the hotel as long as you requested the remodeled section. We were told that the section we were in was going to be remodeled soon.
