Fint hotell med bra service. Rett ved en liten familievennlig sandstrand. Greie rom og gode senger. Fint med balkong på rommet, selv om vår balkong vendte ut mot parkeringsplassen. Frokosten var veldig bra.

Apparently they remodeled the hotel recently, and it looks like it. The outside looks a little dated, but everything looks newer inside. Pretty decent hotel for a reasonable price. No breakfast provided and it's paid parking are a couple of cons. It's in a good location right on the water, and close to lots of restaurants and the highway is not far […] away. Didn't do their luau or use the pool or anything else, so I can't comment on that stuff. Les mer

This hotel was in a great location. We could walk to dinner almost every night. It was just a short drive to great snorkling. The little beach in front of the hotel is good for small children or if you just want to lay on soft white sand.

We stayed in east wing with view of Alii Dr. and part of shoreline. Not sure the ocean view rooms would be worth the price unless you spent a lot of time on balcony. Several stores in lobby including a small grocery and coffee house. Small private white sand beach just outside nice pool area with outside bar. Very nice hotel and great staff. The luau was entertaining and fun. We even had locals at our table with us who were attending for fun.

Great stay. Location was perfect. Easy walk to nearby shops/restaurants. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Pool area was great. The beach onsite was Ok to cool off in, not one you would want to spend all day at. Drive 20 mins north to Hapuna Beach Park if you are wanting a great beach day. The only complaint is that they did not have a Hospitality suite. […] We had a very late flight out and appreciated them holding our luggage; however, it would have been nice to have had the opportunity to use a shower facility. We stay in Kapoho (other side of island) for most of our vacation. We arrive in Kona because we don't like to spend precious vacation time waiting in the airport in Honolulu for a connecting flight to Hilo Airport so we fly into Kona and drive to the other side. Two days prior to departure, we like to stay at the King Kamehameha because it is the perfect […] send off to the islands. My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon for 7 days. During this time everything was great. The hotel was very clean and everyone was very friendly. The beds are also extremely comfortable and very clean. I'm super picky about hotel beds and these are amazing. This hotel has a small beach that was convienient along with a place to rent snorkeling, […] paddle boards and other beach gear. If your not super picky about being on a big beach but good with a place to let your kids play, snorkle a little and just lay out to get some sun, this is a good place to be. The only thing I disliked was the $12 a day they charge for parking. Its nice to have a vehicle on the island to go different places, but be prepared for the parking fees. The breakfast buffet is also a little pricy, but everything is in Hawaii. The hotel is also in a great neigborhood. Lots of different shops and eating places to walk to and spend a day just wandering around the area. The hotel is also right next to the boat dock for boating excursions or fishing trips. There is an ABC store (local convienient store) in the hotel as well, very handy to grab a quick snack or souvineres. Overall this is a great place to stay! Les mer

Not as grandiose as the resorts but a lot more reasonable rates. The rooms and pool area are top notch. Downsides are tiny beach and bit of a musty/dated lobby area. The history and artwork there are great but the first floor area needs updating.

We loved the hotel, BUT at 4:30am the fire alarm went off sending us ALL out of our rooms and out side. Nothing was said to us from staff, we finally went in to the front desk to find out it was a false alarm, someone had pulled the fire alarm. IT was April's Fools Day. However we were still charged for our parking and no apology or compinsation for […] our discomfort.But we did love the hotel and our breakfast was very excellant. Les mer

It was excellent, the inclusive buffet breakfast was v.g.overlooking the ocean with open dining area Facility well taken care of, parking lot is security staffed at the gate entrance 24 hrs.All staff very friendly and accommodating. Met all our expectations. Would definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel in a great location right in the middle the Kailua. Many great stores, restaurants and bars within walking distance and right on a beach with swimming, snorkling boarding etc. The hotel was very comfortable and the employees made every interaction very pleasant. They were always trying to make your stay better. For an extended stay there […] are very good laundry facilities available for your use. Newly remodeled. Very nice inside and out. Staff was really attentive, using my name in greeting each time I passes the front desk. Pool and bar were great. Can walk right out to the beach, very close. Can snorkle and rent water craft. Walking distance to great restaurants and shops.

Location was fantastic! Close to shopping, ocean, lots of restaurants. We stayed in an ocean view room which was fantastic! Pool was great. Rooms clean and quiet, beds were very comfortable. No complaints with respect to the hotel. Will definitely stay here again!

One of the things I really liked was the Hawaiian history they had in their lobby. Beautiful artwork and displays of carvings was very engaging. I love this hotel.

The staff were very friendly, plenty of parking, big pool, comfortable and clean room, and decent beach area. We had a standard room, all rooms have balconys which is nice. I almost paid extra for ocean views but I'm glad I didn't and it's not necessary. There are many extra water activities you can do straight behind the hotel including snuba. Easy […] to get to from the airport, shopping center near by, souvenir shop is in the hotel (abcstore) which is great. And the local market/shops are within walking distance. There is also a Luau at this hotel on Tuesdays which looked similar to the one we went to but ours was at the Sheraton on a Monday. Les mer

Great location, beautiful rooms. Only thing - note that partial ocean view room is very partial - if you stand at the very edge of one side of your balcony you can kinda see the water. Buffet Breakfast also could've been a bit better for the quality of the hotel, but was fine. But awesome rooms and bathrooms and hotel facilities in a great location. […] Would definitely stay there again, but just stick with the cheaper no view room rather than the "partial view" (so much to do here you don't spend much time there anyway). Short and sweet. Too short really. The hotel is gorgeous, rooms very nice, staff very friendly and welcoming. Large, convenient parking lot and reasonable overnight parking fees. Open air restaurant on the sea (not so great service or food) - but wonderful atmosphere! Overall, Great place to stay in Kailua/Kona, Hawaii.

The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are very comfortable. I was amazed at how quiet the hallways were. We never heard other guest. We had two partial ocean view rooms on the 4th and 6th floor. The hotel staff were all very friendly and accomodated my request to have rooms away from the elevators. I'd definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel and great "Aloha" spirited staff. Great centralied location. The only negitive thing was our room placement! Second floor facing a parking lot and every time we had to change, move around with less cloths, etc. we had to close the sliding door cover. I will not return to this hotel unless I have a higher then 3 floors room.

We were very disappointed because we paid over $400 for two nights but were put in room 627 that is right next to the three elevators for the building so it was extremely noisy. We asked to move as soon as we got to the room, but were told there were no rooms available, so we were stuck there. They did offer to move us for the second night, but it […] is a hassle to move so we declined the second night because the room wasn't available until 4 pm and we checked out at 11 the next day. They did give us a complementary breakfast both mornings so at least they did try to compensate. The elevator rooms should be sold at a severe discount, $100 or less. We paid over $200, too much for a sub-standard room. The hotel is basically nice, remodeled, clean, very busy, probably because the Outrigger Hotel on Alii Drive has closed. Kona needs to re-open the Outrigger, it is unreasonable to turn an oceanfront hotel into a community center, when a community center could be anywhere. Les mer

We only stayed 2 nights but found the hotel to be comfortable and in a very convenient location. It has a very good breakfast buffet, and lovely restaurant patio. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they even let us store our luggage 2 weeks later when we had a late flight out.

The hotel was great as my ratings show. Kona is a great spot. There is one problem. Most of the mainland non-stop flights from Kona are redeyes, leaving late. So with checkout time at 11am, you're out on the street with no room for most of the last day. King K was firm on checkout, no late checkouts available, and buying another day meant checking out […] at 11am checking back in at 3pm for a few hours of stay at a cost of over $200. Just extending a day and keeping your room was not possible per King K front desk. Here's my solution - book the air and hotel separately so you can get an extra hotel day in the Expedia package - the air + hotel package approach won't let you do it. Almost forgot-if you want a car, book through Expedia as the rates locally are about $1500 per week. Les mer

The staff were friendly, the hotel was up to scratch. Our room looked into the courtyard, but that meant we had a full view of the mountain behind, which was awe inspiring! The only down side was that we were put into a room behind the elevator, and I dreamt of Thunderstorms the first night. We are good sleepers, so it didn't make much of a difference […] to us, but if you are a light sleeper, word to the wise: ask to be moved. This hotel was awesome, the room was very clean, location was right at the end of where all the activity is on Alii Dr so you could still walk to everything but still enjoy peace and quiet too! Close to all the tours off the dock and they have a luau three times a week! Once we had checked in and found our room, we asked to move to the other side of […] the hotel so we had a better view of the (partial ocean view) that we paid extra for. They changed it with no problem. Thank you so much! I would recommend doing that if this happens to you! Bought the breakfast for two online when I booked and it was good but we got a little tired of the same items in buffet every day. And for the price each it was not worth it for what you got. I would have liked a few different choices. We actually gave away our coupons one day so we could go try something different. I would have done the buffet, maybe the first and last day, but you dont have the choice when you add this online. We had to get all seven days. We loved the hotel and the little beach. My 6-year-old daughter had a great time in the pool. I would definitely come back and stay here again and recommend it to my adult children and friends.

great location nice little snorkel bay for standard reef fish outside hotel that is safe for kids, hotel has great on site amenities and good food there and nearby it is a good 2 hour drive to the volcano area - we would recommend a few nights on the kona side and a few nights on the hilo side to get the most from the island - this is a very nice base […] camp! Refurbished - spacious, comfortable rooms with nice beds. Bathrooms are completely redone and include nice soap/shampoo. Great location - right on a small, protected beach, and in the center of the action. Walking distance to many restaurants, bars and a few sights. Luau is one of the better ones around - crowds show up early, and it is a good show. The […] hotel has comfortable lounge chairs at the beach, or you can rent an umbrella and beach chairs for $10/day on the beach itself - then order food from the restaurant as you enjoy the day. There is an ABC store in the lobby, so snacks and drinks for the beach are easily at hand, and not expensive. Buffet breakfast is decent - food is standard buffet fare, but also includes miso soup and fried rice. Only get the buffet if the price is included with your room - otherwise it is $18 and not worth it. Coffee at the buffet is standard hotel coffee - don't expect premium Kona blend. And, no half-and-half with coffee at the buffet - coffee mate or nothing - like Vegas. Would it hurt them to have actual half-and-half available? They advertise "kona coffee in the room" - this is a ruse! The coffee is a 10% Kona blend - no telling where the other 90% is from. Don't waste your time making in room coffee - go to one of the many coffee shops around if you want better coffee. Price is a bit high for a hotel of this caliber, but you are paying for beach location and the island premium - with that being said, a good value. Les mer
