The window curtains were torn and did not keep the sunlight out very good, the room was located right over the trash dumpster so you could hear the trash being emptied which woke us up early.

The hotel is getting tired - not what I expected for a Doubletree. Could hear cars on freeway from room on 6th floor, hallways have no air conditioning and uncomfortable in the summer. Expected a nicer hotel for the price. Chocolate chip cookies were great.

Very nice stay 4 family mult rooms visiting fr all over 4 graduation.Handled special requests well.Decent restaurant --sampling good soups, baked potatoes, fries, not so hot club sandwich & adequate-nice breakfast, & room service, all open until 11.Free parking.Convenient location on I-35 w/n walking distance to Erwin Center. Halls not air-conditioned […] but really would cost a fortune to do that in Austin & city is crazy re energy efficiency. Just don't be surprised or disappointed by rather warm halls--better to know beforehand.Rooms & lobby are pleasantly cool & you can make room really cool if you need or want that. Delicious cookies & mostly very nice staff.One very late night front desk clerk is a bit brisk but decent; other staff including mgr of front desk, & restaurant maitre-d and staff, are really lovely.Neighborhood to east isn't so great (not terrible tho--Austin crime isn't bad at all) but it's getting better by the minute as part of a big current push urban renewal & revitalization. There's a cemetery next door which might freak some folks out but actually is very old & historic. City view rooms feature downtown views--esp. nice at night. I highly recommend this hotel. I only include v slight negatives so you can better plan your travel & I personally like to know about any negatives beforehand. Denny's next door is pretty good at night tho not quick; I would not eat there during the day however. Convenient for all night dining w/o having 2 drive. Les mer

Hotel was everything we expected, plus warm cookies as a surprise at check-in. Arrived early and registration desk was kind enough to take our information and call us when our room was ready, which was an hour or so before check-in. Room was very clean and good size. The hotel is close to most of the tourist sights but I wouldn't say that it was walking distance to those spots. The hotel was close to the freeway but we didn't really hear the cars.

I like the location of the hotel. Is a pretty convenient place and is near pretty much anything.The only problem was the room that I got. It had a notorious smell that even when they I asked them to spray the room the smell was still there. The bed was comfortable but nos as good as other doubletrees that I have visited.

Overall the stay was comfortable and enjoyable. There was a situation where people were partying in the pool after hours in the middle of the night that was disturbing but the staff took care of the situation.

Nicer than expected. Very convenient to UT campus and reasonable. I was on the 2nd floor with parking and dumpsters behind me and a pool at the end of the hall. That ended up being a noisy spot so I will request something different next time. Otherwise I was very pleased.

Went to a graduation; walked from hotel to Erwin Center. 8:00 am graduation, weather was cool, walk was not difficult, Austin PD on site to direct walkers/vehicles.

overall is good. room is big, nice, and clean. but there were noise in the morning with the lawn mowing in the garden that woke me up.

We only stayed one night but always enjoy staying at DoubleTree. Very quiet room, located close to downtown without staying downtown, free parking is a big plus, and always enjoy those cookies! Would stay there again.

The hotel was fine. The problem is there are two Doubletree hotels, both on the same street, but 5 miles apart. I of course went to the wrong one and had to backtrack over to find the right Doubletree. May want to note this for future guests so they don't have the same issue

It was great, easy check in, our room was ready, clean and comfy, always love the cookies, the bar was great and sitting outside on the patio was a plus. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Will stay there again.

Was advertised as downtown location, but it is far from downtown. Toilet was broken and we had to move rooms. Hotel is between the interstate and a graveyard, and we had to walk under creepy bridges and see lots of homeless to get downtown. I would stay elsewhere next time. They did not have the room we had requested, and my friend and I had to share a bed. Then they had promised us to be moved after one night to two queen bed room, and to pack up and our bags would be moved - the following morning they said this may not happen after we spent the time in the morning re-packing. Also, they did not leave sufficient items […] in the room (body wash, soap, towels). We had to call down often for extra items. Les mer

We stayed here after attending a concert at the Irwin Center, which is a quick, easy walk away. The hotel was clean, in good condition, and very comfortable. My only complaint was the leaf blowers outside my window at 8 AM. Overall, though, you can't go wrong with this hotel if you will be visiting the campus or especially the Irwin Center.

Stayed overnight for a concert at Frank Erwin center. The hotel was the in the perfect location within walking distance to the event.

My experience at the hotel was excellent. The room was very good, the hotel staff was excellent. But I must speak about a situation where the staff went above and beyond. I forgot my passport at the hotel and the manager went out of her way using her own vehicle to get it to me at the airport as fast as she could. I cant tell you how much I appreciated […] that extra help that was way beyond what anyone would expect an employee to do. I am sure trying to get through very backed up traffic from a hotel that was on the other side of the city was as stressful for her as it was for me. I want to thank her publicly for the effort. I would return to the hotel in the future. Les mer

The hotel was very convenient to the University of Texas campus, which is why I chose this hotel. The major problem was the non-working toilet in our room. The freeway traffic was also a major nuisance, as we were staying on the freeway facing side of hotel. Rooms could use more light. Not sure I would stay here again.

awesome service - very close to UT and Downtown. We could walk to everywhere. Nice breakfast places a few blocks away. Very nice staff. internet worked great.

Very conveniently located for UT Parents. Ample free parking and walking access to the diner. A bit on the expensive side - but those are the going rates in this area for this class of hotel.

Satisfactory. All went well except that after returning from a long day we found lack of maid service. The bathroom had been cleaned and serviced but the beds were not made. No maids were available late at night so we made our own beds before retiring.

Easy location , minutes from 6th. I was there for a short visit, so I wasn't concerned so much about star ratings as I was a good value in a great location. Room overlooked the stadium-at night being directly off the hwy it was so loud-I thought the window was open. If your concerned about hwy noise ask to be on the other side of the hotel. If your […] a huge UT fan and want to have your view of the stadium at a great price this is the room for you. Pleasingly the bathroom was roomy. Style is current and UT colors. Les mer
