The staff were pleasant and accomodating. the locatuion is excellent and quiet... Out of the main part of town but close to shopping and good restaurants.The room was clean and obviously in the process of being upgraded.

I have stayed at this Inn a few times, always in the 2 buidlings overlooking the river. However this time I was in a different building, which seems to be neglected. The microwave was very old and didn't work. It looked horrible with the top of it stained and the metal had warped. There were gauges in the desk and wall that hadn't been repaired. The […] window was bolted shut and it was very warm outside, so that was disappointing. The lawn hadn't been mowed- I was there May Long and it was about 6 inches high. The breakfast used to offer a fresh fruit bowl but didn't that weekend, leaving the rest of the food mediocre at best. Les mer

We enjoyed our stay and found it very quiet and relaxing just what we needed after a long drive from Windsor. We found the room was kept very clean, the resturant was very courteous staff.

Hotel was what we expected. There was a weddingand reception the first night. The only bad thing was the continental breakfast was in a different room than normal it was much smaller and not a very good continental breakfast. There wa not much selection to chose from. The hotel is in a beautiful location and there is so much potential for this hotel, but it seemed as if it was in transition. I could not find the amenities that were advertised and lawn care took place at 6:30 am, right outside my window. The attached tavern needs an upgrade but that is not an easy fix, and can often be overlooked if the service is […] good. Unfortunately the person working the restaraunt this particular evening set the tone and provided no service. A good first impression that makes you feel welcome will go along way in allowing a person the opportunity to taste the food. I did not have a good experience but was pleased when the manager contacted me for my feedback. It is difficult when an establishment receives a very poor review because of the lack of certain staff providing poor service. I would go back, but only because of the response of the Restaraunt Manager. Les mer

an older hotel with beautiful river views and a restaurant/patio next door. Swimming pool for summer time visitors. The main hotel area and exterior of buildings is worn and showing it's age but they are renovating the suites themselves and these are very nice.Staff very friendly.

Everything I read indicated focused on the renovated rooms. Our booking confirmation indicated that our room opened to a balcony. The room we were given was in an older building and was not renovated at all. The carpet & decor were old. The room did not open to a balcony - it opened to the sidewalk across the front of the building, one step up from […] the parking lot. There was a fogged-up window that opened to a neglected bit of grass that separated that building from the front building. The building shown in the pictures has rooms (exactly the same floor plan) that were renovated and opened to a balcony - we did not have a room like that at all. I expected 'newly renovated' and I got 'tired, dated, should have been renovated 10 years ago'. I printed and brought the initial booking confirmation, not the only with details like "opens to a balcony" so I didn't bother to challenge the room assignment. There were very few cars parked at the renovated building so I don't think there was a reason why we were put in one of the older buildings unless it was the price. Even if we had been in the building behind us, we could have had a balcony (some rooms under renovation). On a positive note - there was a courtesy computer in the lobby and the bathroom was clean. If anyone else books a room be sure to insist on being in the renovated building! Les mer

The outside of the hotel looked promising as we arrived, but the lobby was our first sign that there is a real need for updating and renovation. Photos show great well appointed rooms. Our rooms were not anything like the photos at all. Loud poor functioning air conditioner, sagging beds, and old and tired flooring, walls, and furniture. The hotel is […] relatively close to the airport but there are nicer hotels closer to the airport. At the moment, this hotel is a real budget hotel, but I am not sure the savings are worth it. This is an older hotel and we have stayed here several times. It is more than adequate for a weekend visit. It is clean, close to major thoroughfares and the staff are very accommodating.

I would definately stay there again. Very close to the airport,10 minutes to the Casino, and very quiet. Our room hadn't been updated yet, but it was a great price, very clean, and well kept. They are doing renovations to the buildings along the water now. Great setting.

Unfortunately we did not have hot water for showers on the first night we stayed, OK in the morning - did not report to anyone. The duvet on the bed was constructed of very noisy material - irritating! The continental breakfast was good and staff pleasant.

This hotel was under renovation so it's hard to know what it would be like normally. The room was old and in need of a reno (coming soon) but very clean and well kept. The bathroom provided Bath and Body Works products, pleasantly surprising. The restaurant was already reno'd and FAR SURPASSED expectation - go for the Sunday brunch - impressive. We […] travel with our very old dog alot and are used to being treated poorly because of it but these guys were amazing. Let us walk the dog on their property, provided disposal facilities, didn't bug us about the dog being loose in the room (he can barely move so destroying stuff isn't really his thing), just generally provided a confortable and safe place for us to enjoy our vacation - we'd go back in a heartbeat Les mer

The location is particularly picturesque & the restaurant was a delightful surprise - not your average hotel eatery, but provided us with a couple of terrific - gourmet level - dinners. Though the rooms could use updating at some point - they were comfortable, the service was consistently polite, timely and friendly. We were quite happy with it.

For a hotel that's gone through a full refit, the room looked a little old. All of the caulking in the bathroom was cracked, which shouldn't have been possible with a brand new refit - there will be mold issues in the future from that. Says there's internet, but the Ethernet plugs were taped over. There's wifi, but we weren't given a password for it. […] Since they have a full restaurant, the continental breakfast was tiny - toast, stale cereal, juice, milk, tea and coffee. When we went in for the continental breakfast, the entire restaurant was freezing - with fireplaces & heaters going. 1 of their heaters wasn't working, and so people were leaving the restaurant pretty quickly - most didn't bother finishing their breakfast before leaving because it was so cold. The heater/AC in the room though was horrible. To keep the room a decent temperature (ie above 18C), the heater had to be on all night, and it was loud. The room had a half stove (with big sink so you can do dishes), a coffee maker, and provided dishes and utensils for 2 people. Don't feel bad about skipping the Continental breakfast, and visiting Tim Horton's, which is located next door. Front Desk staff were extremely nice. Les mer

The hotel is old but the room is clean. With its location, It is reasonably priced. Our comfort can be significantly improved if the beds are replaced with new and firm mattresses.

Rented two rooms one frig was not on and other room frig froze all of our fruit and veggies. Heater in both rooms never shut off all night well technically they shut off for literally two seconds and then came back on. They should say they don't have a complimentary breakfast as it was cereal and not a drop of coffee left in the pot. Disappointing!

It's a great, quaint hotel, and the rates are great. There was hair in the bathtub and under the blankets of the bed that I thought was gross (as it did not appear to be head hair in either case).

The room was very out dated... Including the beds. The beds were horrible. Lumpy and uncomfortable. The room itself was some what clean.Definitely not worth the money I spent.

We were very warmly welcomed. The room was very clean and decently equipped. The location gives good value; it's only about 20 minutes from downtown via the highway and the Colonel By Drive, with a nice quiet setting right on the Rideau River. Lots of nice places to sit and enjoy the view. This hotel won't be great for everyone - say people who need […] to be at the heart of the action - but for those looking for a quieter spot to retreat to after a busy day it's probably the best around the city. Hotel was comfortable and clean. Stayed for 13 days. We had neighbours that made a lot of noise. House keeping was great. Comp breakfast was not so good. Everything was stale.

Excellent location if using the Airport. Airport to hotel taxi was $18.00. Staff was very helpful allowing us to leave the car while we were away and staying up VERY late (after 1AM as our plane was late) to check us in.

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions. We use it as an overnight stay before departing for and returning from a Caribbean bound vacation. It is easy to locate (just off of Hunt Club Drive) and a short taxi ride to the Ottawa airport in the morning to catch the plane ($20 fare includes tip). The newly opened restaurant is a good addition. […] Food is very good with large helpings and reasonably priced. The continental breakfast offers a light breakfast before departing. This hotel is old and run-down. Too old to really keep clean. I didn't even want to walk on the carpet without shoes. The mattress was sagging to one side, and the room smelled like bad feet. It should be labelled a motel because you have to drive right up to your room

Ireally loved the hotel. The room was abit outdated but clean. the view was breathtaking.breakfast wasnt that much impressing but u usually gona be in a hurry. i think i will go back again.
