I loved my room. Almost new and had lots of space to practice yoga each morning. I had guests join me for breakfast, too. The buffet was well liked by adults as well as kids.

First off, the hotel itself, the room, the staff, the food is great! The room was beautiful and large, it was exceptionally clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was good. Now for the bad part, the walls between the next room etc, is terrible, you can hear everything that the next room is doing, so if you are trying to get some sleep, […] forget it. If you bring your Pet, you are put in the back of the hotel which has no elevator (so pack light) because the stairwell is not in a convenient location. It was also funny that I had to sign a "No Party Policy" when I checked with other guest, no one else had to sign one. Yet, the next room was partying all night. Other than the above, the hotel was good on some things and bad on the other, but nothing is perfect. Les mer

"Crown Plaza Cabana - close to Stanford University"
Hotel stay was great. Staff was very courteous, helpful, and friendly. Pool area is fantastic. All though we had a great stay, parts of the hotel need to be updated. Television sets in the bar and the rooms were way undersized. Meals were great but over priced. Over all, I would recommend and make a return visit.

The decor was excellent such a beautiful hotel and friendly staff. We had the Cabana pool side room with patio very nice and comfortable we had warm weather to enjoy and sit on patio day and evening we stayed Two days. The Cabana rooms with the bamboo furnishings, even on patio felt like we were in the Bahamas. We had a beautiful large room with large […] fridge that was different and nice we could store our wine and other large food items. The bathroom decor real nice too beautiful marble. We were able to eat in the restaurant our compliments to the chef very 5 star meal.. Only one thing that bothered my husband and I were the bed sheets they were hard and ruff we had to take them off and didn't like the blanket either, the duvet was lovely soft and comfortable. Getting softer sheets and blankets would be nice. I will stay there again soon. Les mer
"A welcoming and spacious hotel"
My daughters and I stayed at this hotel on a bicycle road trip. We were very pleased with the staff, the room and the spacious and sunny central courtyard with its pool and spa. The staff stored our bikes for us very happily, and they gave us a ride to dinner a few miles away. Highly recommended.

When we stay in Palo Alto, instead of staying with my parents in their multi-million dollar house, we always stay at the Crowne Plaza Cabana! This hotel is amazing, classic, wonderful, very clean and fresh! The pool and patio area is very stylish and a nice place to hang out. Our room with doors leading out to the garden and pool is the best! The Sunday […] Brunch is TOTALLY INCREDIBLE! We always have the brunch which is without a doubt the best Sunday Brunch in North America! And believe me, we dine at alot of incredible restaurants so this says alot! Stayed for a weekend with my daughters. The hotel was clean and comfortable, quiet. Could have used a few more TV channels for the kids but otherwise we had a lovely stay.

The Crown Plaza Cabana is centrally located with a large parking lot. However, it is difficult to find parking after 8 p.m as the hotel hosts many meetings etc. The rooms are clean but basic. Although there are restaurants within the quality of the food was only fair.

"Very nice hotel"
Nice hotel, pretty lobby, nice size room with 2 queen beds. The staff was very friendly and quick to help out. Free wireless and the lobby bar with happy hour were convenient. Walls were not very sound proof, so heard some lobby noise around midnight (we were on the second floor and the hallway opened to the lobby below), but it did not last long and […] it was quiet the rest of the night. Slept soundly on nice beds. Would like to have continental breakfast available, but Hobbes Restaurant is within walking distance from the hotel and has a great breakfast! We left a pillow there and they still had it a day later, so we were able to pick it up on our return trip! I was impressed with the service! Les mer

"Great for football game"
This was a nice hotel with very friendly staff. They provided a free shuttle to Stanford Stadium for the football game, which was great. The weather was too cool to use the pool, but it looked great. My kids were dying to jump in. I would recommend this hotel for families.

"Great Hotel for a concert at Shoreline"
Loved the hotel as we drive up. A bit disppointed with the slow service of food and drinks at the hotel bar. But, The pillows were soft, the water was hit, and the front desk guy was very nice. Made a great place to stay for a concert at Shoreline Ampitheater.

I have tried a few hotels in Palo Alto and so far this tops my list. Very clean and the staff was helpful. I got the room on a same day booking at hotels.com so it was a great deal.

What a lovely hotel. Nestled away in a quiet location in Palo Alto, it still manages to be quite close to shopping, dining and US 101. The staff was courteous and accommodating. The room was very spacious and clean. I wish the weather was warm enough for us to have enjoyed the pool and outside seating. Outstanding hotel.
"Better late than never"
The hotel had issues providing the room I had already booked and paid for via Hotels.com. I arrived a little early and they told me they would have a room for me at 3:00pm. I returned at 3:45 and they told me they wouldn't have a room with the 2 queens I requested until 6:00 pm! This was not okay because I had an event to go to and I required a room […] to get ready. Apparently they housed the Stanford Football team, but they don't check out until 6:00 pm, so it was causing havoc on their room availability. The staff was lacking in customer service, and he offered to give us a room with a king, and gee he wouldn't charge us for the roll away cot! I asked to speak to management and they did give us a King room and they were supposed to deliver a cot, but that never showed up. They did comp us our breakfast at their very nice buffet, but that's because I told them they had to do something. If they had been more accommodating and more apologetic, it wouldn't have been a big deal, but they weren't! So overall things were good, but they apparently don't put customer service first on their list. Les mer
"The quaint little hotel with a lot to offer!"
My now husband and I just got married and wanted to find a hotel to get away and just relax. We live in the Bay Area and found this great hotel, which we had heard such great things about. We were greeted with open arms and received quality service. The hotel provided a great level of comfort and offered many options of things to do and everything you […] needed for a home away from home. The only concern that we had was that we booked our hotel the Saturday before our Sunday night stay through Hotels.com. We received a bill under our door the next day, so I called the front desk to inquire and they stated that they had not received a "paid" statement from Hotels.com. I contacted Hotels.com promptly who re-faxed the information over to the hotel. It was a small blip, but I know that things can definitely get "lost on the way." Overall, a splendid hotel that I would definitely recommend to others. Minutes to Stanford University, less than an hour from San Francisco (without traffic), and close to many restaurants and shopping centers. Great place! Les mer

""Cabana" room not what we expected"
After seeing the reviews and photos online, and based on what we remembered seeing (the tower) when we used to live in Palo Alto, we thought we'd scored a great deal. I guess I didn't realize that “Cabana” was a literal title; we received a first-floor room on the “courtyard,” which is pretty on one side but more like a sketchy motel on the other. We […] considered asking for a new room, but there was a conference and we figured the tower was full. The room was fine, just not at all what we were expecting. Specific complaints: no weather-stripping on the door, so a few bugs and smoke got in; smokers next door or outside left our room less than fresh; loud guests with patio doors open meant sound definitely traveled. Thankfully, we got a really cheap rate on hotels.com, and the front desk gave us free parking for being first-time guests, so that at least made the stay a good value. However, in any other circumstance, I would definitely recommend requesting an interior tower room, or just stay at the Courtyard Marriott right next door – we’ve stayed there before and it’s great. "Photos lie!!"
Arriving at the hotel we thought "WOW we scored this place is way to nice for the price we paid", checking in and on was a completely different story. The front desk staff was really rude and unacommodating, they warned us when we checked in that the Air conditioning hadn't been working but maintenance had been working on it and they thought it was […] fine. When we realized that it still wasn't working, we called the front desk and was told "open a window it's a nice night". No apology, no would you like a different room, no empathy whatsoever. Overall a nice visit to Stanford University but a Motel 6 would have been a better, more comfortable place to sleep for the money!! Les mer

great room but the view out fo the room overlooked the car pot roof. not very nice. would have preferred a better view, could not see anything out of the window.

The Crowne Plaza was an excellent choice of hotels for my family and I to stay while we visited Stanford University. The staff was extremely courteously and helpful. The beds also were very comfortable. We plan on making this our hotel of choice should he decide to attend Stanford.
Everything was great, room service menu was great and food was even better. Only complaint is the sound proofing in the cabana rooms around the pool. You could here every door shut and conversation.

The Cabaña is a famous old Palo Alto hotel, once owned by Doris Day and where Frank Sinatra used to perform and the Beatles stayed during their last US concert. Gone are the cheesey Cesar's Palace-like Roman statues that used to line the entrance. The entrance/lobby is very contemporary without being over the top opulent. This may be an issue in the Summer, but as it was winter it was fairly quiet. A very comfortable and well located hotel which, at the price point is very good value. Les mer

Even though hotel under remodel, the back building was fine. The room was very nicely decorated, very nice remodel. Room clean and comfortable. Requested foam pillows, not a problem. Rooms cleaned early in the day, which we like because we leave about 9 am and are back by 1 pm. Only one thing might be fixed. When neighbors closed doors it rattled the […] door inbetween the rooms rather loudly. Should be able to make more quiet. Les mer
