Worth the money and close to Exhibition centre, Madley Village is only 1mile away with a few good restaurants. Will use again.

Poor customer service and staff attitude on reception and on the bar. Room tired, old, cold, noisy and badly laid out. Standard similar to a bad travel lodge, yet charges at least double the price, I'd rather stay in a premier inn!

I got to the hotel late and the receptionist asked the kitchen to stay open a little longer so I could have some hot food as it was snowing outside. Overall a good stay I will be staying again as it a good location for visiting customers in the area.

I stayed at the Madeley Court a few years ago and it has started to decline, in my opinion, since then. The staff are good and welcoming, and check in is swift and easy. The hotel looks really impressive on the outside, but the restaurant and bar areas are a bit tired. I do think that the location, if the trip is for leisure, is really good as it is so close to Ironbridge Gorge and, as my sat nav demonstrated, there is even an outdoor ski slope right next door! Impressive looking and looked like lots of potential, but let down by mediocre service and lack of personality. I would probably stay again if convenient, but wouldn't go out of my way to.

fabulous venue but I stayed in the south wing which was neglected, dirty and just too tired looking, electricity tripped in the first room so I was changed to another which was no better. I asked for an upgrade but none were available. On the plus side the food was marvellous. Hotel has potential to be really top end but needs investment badly

Very impressive historic mansion building and outbuildings in tranquil setting. Compact bedroom and bathroom but reasonably comfortable for a one night stay. Restaurant located in baronial type hall with huge open fireplace. Unfortunately, neither the quality of the food nor the inept and unpolished service, from what appeared to inexperienced waitstaff, […] lived up the expectations. We asked for a quiet room and ended up with a lovely room in the Gatehouse. Full of character (although room very cold, due to staying in December over a particularly cold weekend - probably better in the summer). We had a few problems initially with checking in, as the first room we were given we had difficulty with opening the door, then when we did, […] discovered someone else was staying in the room - a computer problem apparently. I'm not sure if we were upgraded due to this mix up or the quiet room meant we had the Gatehouse but it was gorgeous! Les mer

OK. Room nice, bathroom not warm. Historic building very beautiful and under exploited. Bar has TV (bad mark) and in not very confortable. Staff pleasant. I would stay there again. The hotal has character.

very nice..the historical feel is wonderful. Hopefully Mercure hotels will protect and enhance this instead of covering everything over with modern features and paint, etc.

Hotel beautiful from the outside. Could do with a few repairs here and there in the rooms (peeling paint, coffee stains on bed linen, minor things really but would make an overall difference). Booked over the Internet assuming we would have a room in the manor part itself but we were put in the annexe off the side. Not a bad thing as the room was nice […] but would have liked to know at time of booking. Breakfast was good and lots of choice but uncomfortably quiet! It needed some gentle background music or something as we felt we couldn't have a conversation. Would stay here again for location and pretty grounds, not as good as other branded hotels we have stayed at. Les mer

Very disappointed, I was looking forward to staying in this hotel. I found the staff condescending, the bath was dirty and the complementary shampoo and shower gel had been used by previous guests, it would have been better there had not been any than leave used item's. Excellent.Staff helpful and friendly even down to the cleaners.The bar area overlooks a lake which was nice and we would have been as happy staying in the hotel grounds and not going out at all.

This hotel provided a good room and good food, in a location convenient for Ironbridge Gorge museums. Reception and breakfast service was excellent. At dinner, service was courteous and correct but not particularly welcoming; staff seemed to be under too much pressure.

A great combination of new accomodation built harmoniously around an ancient and well preserved priory. Lots of character, comfortable and practical.

Nice hotel with character. East wing room was spacious and comfortable. Sunday lunch was enjoyable, well presented. Slept well. Plumbing a little noisy. Breakfast the following morning started well. However, due to staffing shortages, this became something of disaster as guest cues built up and atmosphere became tense. Waited for an age to be served […] milk for cereal. Had to leave without cooked breakfast along with others, which was a shame. Should we call again, will be in the breakfast room first! Visited hotel week before and liked the look of it. Did notice litter on roadway to hotel on both occasions which could have been spotted and collected by hotel staff. Nicely located for a stay in Shropshire. Les mer

Lovely hotel with lots of character and history. Rooms were very comfortable and had plenty of space. Beds were comfortable and lounges interesting and welcoming. We booked a Sunday lunch which was delicious to a good standard and very good value for money. However, breakfast was a catastrophe. Not enough staff to deal with the demand. If you did not […] get into breakfast for 8/8.30 a.m. it became very frustrating with not enough seating, cutlery, service and waiting ages before hot breakfasts re taken and provided. Lots of people literally could not wait and left half way through. Atmosphere in the room due to this was tense to say the least - which was a shame as it spoiled what had been a pleasant stay. This hotel looks lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Only downside was the restaurant. Breakfast was good although the price was the same whether you had a cooked breakfast or continental breakfast. The real downside was the dinner menu and quality of food served. The menu was limited, very expensive considering the type of food on […] offer and food not particularly nice. Very cheap cuts of meat offered on the table d'hote menu and if you wanted a steak or something more interesting it was an extra cost. Les mer

Our hoel stay would have been perfect except for a fire alarm going off about 2am (not hotels fault) and a noisy wedding reception. Breakfast also very overpriced.

The Madeley Court Hotel is a lovely old 16th century Hotel full of history. It is very close to all the places of interest namely Blist Victorian Town, Ironbridge Gorge, Coalport Musuem and many more very interesting places to visit. Would highly recommend staying at the hotel and seeing all the area has to offer.

Het pand heeft veel stijl, dat de vloeren kraken hoort erbij. Het park erom heen is jammer genoeg erg slecht onderhouden waardoor de wandeling niet echt prettig is. De bijbehorende vijver kan zeker een positieve impuls geven als hij opgewaardeerd wordt. Ontbijt was prima al was de zaal heel vol en had de bediening haar handen vol.

A pesar de que en el impreso firmado en el check-in podía leerse: "Salida a las 12:00" , nos avisan el día de salida que "Sorry", pero el check-out es a las 11:00, lo cual nos obligó a un pequeño cambio de plan. Sin señal wi-fi en la habitación del final de pasillo, así que teníamos que ir al vestíbulo para poder conectar . En cuanto todo lo demás,bien, […] excepto por una gran araña en el techo (no lámpara sino artrópodo) justo encima de la puerta de entrada en la habitación. Como vivimos en una zona de montaña no le dimos más importancia, pero otros huéspedes podrían incomodarse. Les mer
