Hotel Siru - Brussel

Good location for access to trams, metro and trains. Newly refurbished hotel. Terrible experience with very unfriendly receptionist. I paid for breakfasts but additional money was taken which was not on invoice and with no explanation. She was not happy when I queried this and she said the bill was just a preview (which explained nothing). I realised […] afterwards that it was the daily city tax. She should have asked if it was OK to take it and she should have given me a proper receipt. Requested early morning call did not materialise. Receptionist said "it was one of those things" rather than sorry. Thank goodness her shift ended and new staff appeared who were much more helpful and friendly. Breakfast is taken in the hotel next door where I have stayed many times before and which is more friendly than this one. I would try to avoid staying here again, but sometimes the cost dictates where one stays. Les mer

Good location to city centre, got what we paid for. Clean and comfy rooms. Only downside was the hotel receptionist, he wasn't very polite. I was asked to pay the city tax which I believed I already had through hotels.com, so watch for that. Also I was checked into a six floor room but couldn't access this room as key card did not work. After talking […] to receptionist I then tried three more times...that was a lot of stairs to climb. on trying room I'd been given there was clothes and suitcase in there. I had stayed at this hotel many times before before the recent refurbishment. The rooms and the building in general have greatly benefitted from the recent spruce up. However two things really annoyed me: the first being that after the first night they did not replace my loo rolls so I was left with only a few sheets of a nearly finished roll, the second […] was that they did not leave me another disposable plastic glass (the ration is one) after the first night.This seems particularly mean. Otherwise all was fine. Breakfast is extra and whilst I was there was taken in the hotel next door where I have stayed before so I knew what to expect. The staff were pleasant and did ask for payment in advance but I don't mind that because it obviates the need to stand in queues on the last morning. They need to get the little things that can mean so much right. Les mer

Nice and clean room in a good area for shopping. Maybe a bit too close to a police station (sirens at night). Maid did not change towel even if we put them on the floor (on a five nights stay)

In general, the room is comfort & clean, the location is convenience, the neighbourhood is good........ Unfortunately I requested 2 days morning call, but they did not work out. It's pity!!!

I chose this hotel as it seemed neat and clean. It wasn't. The corriders were dirty, especially the carpet, there was this quite heavy strange smell everywhere, especially in the room. The building is very obviously old and I sort of had the feeling I was inside a big carved-out rock. The room was dirty and smelled weird, as already stated. There were […] soap strikes on the carburettor and sink after the cleaning every day, although I washed them off everyday myself. The refurbishment seems to have consisted mainly in some paint on the furniture to make it look modern on pictures. Close up it was just kind of shabby. The breakfast was extremely disappointing, cost a sum of 12 Euros and not at all worth it. There wasn't even fresh juice (only juice from concentrate), no fruit and absolutely nothing to justify the price. On the bright side: The hotel staff was really nice and helpful and both check-in and check-out was very quick. Les mer

Otroligt små enkla rum, helt avsaknande av extra tjänster såsom alarm-möjligheter på tv eller klockradio, ingen anvisning hur man kom i kontakt med receptionen, inget kylskåp, dåligt med upphängningsplats för kläder. Mycket enkel nivå helt enkelt även om det var rent och fräscht. Bra läge dock.
