Wonderful place to stay when you want to be close to VA Tech. Nice staff, comfy beds. Hot coffee in the lobby at all times.

Pretty and clean room. Huge flat screen. Firm mattresses. Friendly and efficient front desk. SO conveniently located to Va Tech and downtown Blacksburg. Second visit and will stay again.

Staff were very courteous and extremely friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. We were dissapointed by the bar and restaurant, i preferred the hotel lobby with its big welcoming open fireplace and enjoyed my drink here instead. "Holiday Inn @ VA Tech University"
Ground floor room, Bathroom smelled like a sewer, had to run water in sink & tub and flush every few hours. Only one washer & dryer in the entire hotel for guest use, a hotel next to a university, come on!
"Pleasant Surprise"
We liked this hotel as much as Hilton Gardens only it was more convenient and a little cheaper. Loved the sliders on the first floor. Just ask for an inside room as the traffic can be a little noisy if you don't have the room fan or a/c on. Would def stay there again as first choice in the area due to amenities, convenience and room comfort.

My European parents and daughter stayed at this hotel because of its proximity of VA Tech. Even though I had made the reservation for 3 adults they ended up with two twin beds and only two breakfast vouchers. Staff should have explained to them what to expect. "I loved this hotel !!!"
When searching the web I read every review from every web site possible so like u I truely appreciate a good review! First the hotel is in a great location. There is cvs right across the street for little things u might have forgot or for any accidents while your stay There is a five guys ( the next burger spot around !!) down the street with a Starbucks […] for your morning coffee! As well as a couple other fast food places.w e stayed in a pres. Suite which had plenty room for 5 adults and the roll away bed was already in the room and was a comfortable as the bed itself ! The room was very clean which I am very annual about ! And the hotel staff ( both Ashleys ) were great !!! We even extended our stay 2 hours after check out with no problems. The indoor pool was also a plus!!! The weight room was the only flaw two people could be in there at the same time you will knock each other out lol!!! And oh yeah if you just feel like staying in you can grab some food from the bar !!! I loved it here and I hope this review was helpful !! Go hookies! Please not when booking through hotels.com the times are not accurate on the web site an hour off the actual hotel time which is very misleading to the customer and also the hotel did not have listed under the correct room. "Don't expect the Ritz"
Its a holiday inn, don't expect the Ritz. The hotel was clean, well maintained and recently redone, the location was convenient and easy to get to. The one thing is that I wouldn't pay for the "included breakfast" theres a Panera Bread across the street that you can walk to and its also cheaper to buy your breakfast separate from the hotel room price […] if you want to eat at the hotel. "Pleasant stay in Blacksburg"
Check in was easy and the front desk attendant was very friendly and helpful with some info I needed for a Va Tech event the next day. Breakfast in the restaurant the following morning was very good and very convenient. And our room was already cleaned when we returned.
"Tough night"
Loud parting in the hall way and slamming of doors until 1:30am. Had to call front desk twice. Not much sleep that night. Under some sort of remodel, stacks of sheet rock out side my front door.

It was absolutely great! Nothing I could complain about. We ordered room service, not a problem. Having the indoor swimming pool was great - especially since it was snowing outside. Only thing that would have made it better would have been an indoor jacuzzi too! Highly recommend.

"Great for visiting Virginia Tech"
Was visiting VT and it was literally across the street! They're building a new entrance to the campus/visitor's center that will be directly across from the hotel. Currently, it was about a 5 minute drive. Stayed in a room with 2 beds: 1 bed had a stained fitted sheet which was disgusting (it was brown). Other than that it was a good hotel. "Great little hotel"
My daughter starts Virginia Tech next month and this hotel was recommended to me - it's terrific and right next to Campus. It has a nice little gym and pool and is in walking distance of restaurants and shops. I will always stay here when I visit.

"Great hotel, but worth the price?"
The hotel itself was great; clean room, friendly and helpful staff, quiet, etc. The only thing lacking was any sort of continental breakfast. My husband and I stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday while visiting family, and others who also came from out of town were very quick to rub it in that the hotel they stayed in had a continental breakfast […] included, and the price of their room was cheaper than ours (by about $30)to boot. I didn't mind paying the fairly cheap rate we received as it was a nice hotel and nice room, but it might also be nice, and a better value, to have breakfast provided (rather than pay the exorbitant rates for room service breakfast). "Good for the price."
When I come to VT I usually stay at the VT Inn, this time I had a limited budget, so I looked around, and I came up with the Holiday Inn U. Blacksburg, the first room we received, the tub was not up to my wifes' standards as she and my 3 yr old like to have their bath, she asked for assistance and the issue was resolved. "Awesome Hotel"
As a Virginia Tech alum, this was my first time staying at the Holiday Inn. It was very clean and comfortable. The room was spacious and everything was great. I would recommend this to anyone staying in Blacksburg. Go Hokies!

"Average Hotel"
The hotel was ok. It seemed a little pricey for the area. The room itself was big and clean. There was a small fridge and microwave in the room. We couldn't find an elevator, so we had to lug our heavy bags up and down the stairs. There is no lighting for the outside pool, so it is closed in the evening.
"A fine hotel"
Checking in was a breeze, the room was clean and had HBO (what more could you ask for after a long trip across the state?). The hotel was clean and well maintained and the staff was efficient and reasonably friendly.
