The Carmel Valley Ranch has beautiful and well-appointed rooms and exceptional grounds with an elegant pool and spa. Unfortunately the quality of the food is underwhelming and the dining service is poor. The wait staff tries hard but do not appear to be well trained, and the sommelier was very unhelpful. It was apparent to us that there was really no […] one in charge of the dining room. But most incredibly, they were unable to accommodate us (paying guests of the hotel) for breakfast or even lunch because they had booked diners who were not guests of the hotel. It is difficult to understand why they would not set aside table space for their own overnight guests, or at least inform us of the oversight at check-in. We would not have booked a room had we known that we could not eat breakfast in the resort. The ranch is a little remote - so it is not as though you can step across the road to find an alternative. If you like a tranquil setting with fine rooms, pool and spa facilities - Carmel Valley Ranch is lovely. If you were “food people” who appreciate professional dining service - we would not recommend Carmel Valley Ranch. Les mer

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The grounds are beautiful, room large and comfortable, and the staff was efficient. We will return.

loved the quiet setting. breakfast was nice. remark- able number of small children there but it was probably due to the holiday weekend. did the beekeeping talk and loved it. would definitely go again.

Outstanding resort and spa. Everything is very new. Outstanding service from the whole staff. Quiet, private, peaceful, out of the way. Very close to Carmel by the Sea, Point Lobos National Park, Pebble Beach. We live about an hours drive away. It was the perfect weekend getaway for my wife and me. My husband and I have just returned from a road trip in California and the Carmel Valley Ranch was my favourite hotel out of the 7 hotels we stayed at. The hotel is stunning and great if you are looking for a nice place to unwind. We unfortunatley only spent one night at the hotel, I could quite easily have stayed at the Carmel Valley Ranch for the […] whole of my trip. Really a place to stay for at least a couple of days with plenty of complimentary activities on offer. The rooms are wonderful and although our balcony had a large tree growing in front of it, the partial view we did have was lovely - rolling golfing greens and the occassional herd of deer stolling about unfazed by the guests. We had dinner in the resort […] restaurant and the food was excellent, the service warm and attentive. Followed up dinner with complimentary smores by the fire located just outside the restaurant. Took a wrong turn coming into the property when arriving and ended up crawling around a narrow road that circled through the hills for a good half hour. Clearer signage coming up to the turn off and then the property itself would be incredibly helpful here. Once inside the property, the maps provided by the resort are comprehensive and easy to follow. Really enjoyed our stay and would have loved to spent more time here - next time! Les mer

This was such a nice surprise. I thought the hotel would be nice, but it was much nicer than expected. The room was very spacious, and the bathroom was HUGE! The fireplace in the room was a nice touch. The fitness center was equipped with a variety of free weights (more than most hotels I've stayed) and everything was new and very well maintained. We very much enjoyed our stay. The rooms are large, elegant, beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The restaurant at the Lodge is sensational. We ate there every night and enjoyed every bite. The chef does an excellent job with seasonal and fresh food.

The Ranch is ideally located in the quiet Carmel Valley but not far from downtown Carmel. The staff was exceptional. Wait staff for Breakfast were delightful. It is a perfect get away place. Loved the fireplace, large bathroom and terrific shower with great products. I would put on my the top of my list for the Carmel area.

This is a beautiful hotel, recently remodeled. Its very peaceful, surrounded by nature. I have to say that it appears they are trying to make this a fitness resort. They have daily activities including yoga, hikes, fitness classes, etc scheduled and the restaurant serves very healthy food, a lot of which is grown in a garden on the property. Room service […] is extremely limited!!! You have continental breakfast only (though, if you ask for something else, like an omelet or pancakes they will bring it, they just dont put it on the menu) and dinner has about 4 items listed. Desserts arent listed at all. Like I said above, VERY HEALTH CONSCIOUS! There is a fridge in the room so you could bring your own snacks if you wanted. Free water in the room, which is a nice bonus, along with apples and some trail mix! Staff is super friendly, though didnt have too much interaction with them so I cant elaborate much more than that. Wildlife is abundant. As we drove in, there was a cluster (about 6 or 8) deer grazing not 20 feet away from the road while people walked right by and the cars passed. They didnt seemed bothered at all, and seemed right at home with the people around them (espcially cool because they had a little fawn with them). There were also wild turkeys roaming on a different day and tons of birds in the trees outside our balcony. Beds were comfortable, pillows were so-so. Shower was nice, bathroom was huge. Living room was big with great light, very comfortable and had a great "home" feeling. The fireplace in the bedroom was nice as well. Les mer

My wife and I had a fantastic experience here, would definitely go back. All of the staff were great - check-in, waitstaff at the pool, the restaurant folks, the maids, everyone. The grounds are beautiful, the food and cocktails were also. My wife initially was a bit skeptical about the price prior to our arrival but the moment we opened the door to […] our suite all of that skepticism was gone. It is about 8 miles from Carmel and Pebble Beach. We went in July. The sun does not shine in Pebble Beach this time of year but it does in the Valley and is about 8 degrees warmer! So 70! It was amazing, highly recommend. The hotel shampoo and soap is like having an aroma therapy shower every day! The spa was incredible. We found the ranch by chance as Carmel was full - great accident! Family of four we all loved it. Beautifully renovated rooms, casual atmosphere, private rooms, great service, range of fitness classes included, great kids pool area (which may get crowded with local members) was uncrowded while we were there. Very much geared to a golf vacation. Food selection is very limited. Many of the wines on the wine list were not available. No list of guest services in room so difficult to get info on spa services, for example. Spa services okay, but not great. Beautiful location, but not a lot of value for the price.

The resort is beautiful! It's on a hill but the staff will pick you up readily to take you where you want to go. It's a great place if you want to walk and get exercise. The pool area is surrounded with fire pits and the S'more's were fun to eat after (or before) dinner. We were greated with a glass of wine while checking in. Carmel Valley Ranch is a great place to find beauty and peace for a restful vacation. Nice size rooms, great setting, inspiring views. Our only challenge was trying to get lunch served in a reasonable time after we ordered.

large rooms - great workout and pool facilities!

This is the place to go for the ultimate chill & relax. The rooms are very nice and quiet. Several nature trails to walk/jog. Excellent food at the lodge. A bit pricey, but definitely worth it.

We stayed on route from San Francisco to LA for one night. Great accommodations for a family of 4. Kids slept in pullout couch and our bedroom felt separate from them which was nice after long drive. Room was large, private and clean. We went to pool, hot tubs for relaxing and the s'mores by the fire pit were much enjoyed by our children. Great stop […] but could have spent more time. Our only disappointment was to find out that the PCH was closed in Big Sur and we missed the drive down the scenic coastline. However the road which the resort is on heading east to 101 is spectacular and gave us great views of the California countryside. Les mer

This is a great hotel in a stunning location, away from traffic, noise, and surrounded by wildlife. Only sorry we couldn't stay longer.

This place is absolutely amazing and worth every dime. The rooms are exceptionally clean and inviting. The atmosphere is uber relaxing and perfect place to relax and get away from it all. Dogs are allowed and that was a plus for me. We saw deer and wild turkeys roaming and heard owl's at night. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. They have a […] spa, heated pool and gym with yoga/spinning classes. They have the best aromatherapy based products in the rooms. I will return often! Les mer

Carmel Valley Ranch is a beautiful facility with luxurious units located among the trees overlooking the golf course. Our room was very comfortable, great fireplace, bed and great pillows. We had breakfast in the main dining room, nice selection of healthy choices.

Excellent place for families. I have a 2 year old and CVRR has an excellent kiddy pool and water play area. Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. Recently renovated with new furniture. They brought in the new bed portion of the sofa bed as we were checking in. The only problem we had was that the cable TV was not hooked up in our bedroom and they were […] unable to fix it while we were there. They did offer us the use of the room next door or to move next door, but for us, that was more trouble than it was worth. We had a great vacation. Carmel Valley Ranch was absolutely stunning. It is pricey, however worth every penny. It's secluded and quiet and the perfect romantic getaway. There were deer on the grounds at all times of the day, and wild turkeys too! The service was impeccable as well. The location of this hotel was just off of a main road so it was easy to find, but it set far back into the natural beauty of the Carmel Valley. The attendants at the gate and the front desk were always very friendly to us. We traveled with an infant and we were provided with a crib in our room, it was already set with a bumper and sheets too. The hotel […] restaurant served good food. The room-service was not in effect during our stay, bu the front desk attendant was nice enough to pick up our order from the restauarnt and bring it to our room at 9 o'clock at night. I felt like the people who worked there cared about our comfort very much. The spa was also closed during our stay so they scheduled the massuers to come to our room. It was great. The only draw back was the wood flooring in the living room. You can hear the people in the neighboring room if they were walking with heavy shoes. But the bedroom was carpeted so the sound was not audible there. I highly reccommend. Les mer

The Carmel Valley Ranch recently changed ownership and is in the midst of a number of well intentioned renovations. Unfortunately, we needed to change rooms because the walls were so thin we could hear every word our neighbors uttered. Some of the decorating and renovation choices are surprising. It's as if they had about 70% of the budget to do the […] job right. We also had water pressure and drainage issues with our shower. All that said, the tennis program and facilities (once complete) are fabulous. They may get this right eventually. We'll probably try it again. Les mer

Positives: Quiet; good for golfers; rooms large with plenty of space. Negatives: currently udnergoing repairs so restaurants limited, no pool access; no kitchenette in our room; water pressure poor for a tub (took about 30 minutes to fill tub with lukewarm water); remote from Carmel/Monterey

Fabulous Views, Exceptional service, spacious suite,great room for the money,dining expensive, but superb. We will be back nest time in the area.

The resort is well maintained and is a grat value for a two room suite. The lobby, lounge, restaurant and bar are very nice with new finishes and furniture.

感謝祭休暇に２泊しました。ソファーベッドが大きめなので、子連れ家族がゆっくり宿泊することができます。また、子供が遊べる部屋があったり、焼きマシュマロができたりと、子供たちもとても楽しめました。ホテルの敷地内をのんびりハイキングしたのですが、鹿を間近で見ることができました。また、夜には星もよく見えます。 カーメルの街や海までも車で10分ほどで、食事や買物も便利です。ホテル内のレストランもよかったです。感謝祭ということもあり、ホテル内のレストランの予約がとれず困っていたところ、カーメルの街のレストランを調べていただいて、代わりのレストランを予約してもらいました。とてもいい対応で、助かりました。 ただし、今回の宿泊で残念なこともありました。シャワーブースの水の流れが悪く、調整をお願いしたのです […] が、結局、チェックに来ることもなく、改善されませんでした。また、洗面台が高かったので、子供用の踏み台もお願いしたのですが、持ってきてもらえませんでした。フロントでの対応は非常によいけど、実際に対処してもらえず、残念です。 全体的には、非常に満足だったので、また是非宿泊したいと思います。 Les mer

Wij kwamen helemaal tot rust na 5 dagen new York. De gratis excursies waren super. Het kinderzwembad was heerlijk. Het personeel was vriendelijk. Het park zag er gewoon prachtig uit! We hebben ook genoten van de openhaardjes, zowel op de kamer als verder in en bij het hotel. We hadden er wel langer willen blijven! Hotel de tres bon niveau. Les chambres sont très grandes (50 m²!!!) et tres confortables,Feu ouvert et grande terrasse. Autour de la piscine il y a des feux ouvertsextérieurs donnant une athmosphère très agréables.
