Great old fashioned luxury hotel in the centre of Firenze. Good breakfast, nice and clean rooms, but extremely hard beds. Apart from the beds - a great hotel.

I stayed there for 1 night, was very convient to the train station. Close walk to many sites. Dining room on the 5th floor was outstanding for both dinner and breakfast. Front desk staff was "ok" small bar in lobby was comfortable. Room was large, we had 3 beds, very large windows. was quite considering location so close to train station. I would stay […] here again! I really liked the simpleness of the rooms. The bathtub was very spacious. I loved the view from the window and the high ceilings gave the room a nice regal feel to it.

Perfect location. Helpful staff. Very nice room. hotel is well taken care of. Somewhat disappointed in menu of roof top restaurant. Not very reflective of the area. Lovely view from the restaurant.

Above average hotel. Very close to landmarks. The staff could be nicer. The rooms were clean and well decorated. The air conditioning was not an option and the room gets too hot by midnight. When you open the window the street noise is loud. Next to bus and train station makes it handy but very noisy. Breakfast had a variety of European offerings.

**LOVED** this hotel....out of 3 separate Italian hotels we stayed in (4 & 5 star hotels in Rome), Hotel Baglioni was by far the best!....where to begin?....the location to the train station, all major sites, the old Italian-style ambiance with a refreshing modern appeal, the free room upgrade (!!), the free buffet breakfast, the fluently bilingual/pleasant/helpful […] staff. The concierge even booked all of our tickets to the galleries, enabling us to easily skip all of the lines! I honestly don't even understand how anyone could give this hotel less than 5/5 rating, but don't take my word for it--see for yourself!! Les mer

Very convenient to train station. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant on the top floor serving breakfast has an amazing view. Our rate included breakfast and was worth every penny. Would definitely stay there again, highly recommended.

I always stay at the Baglioni and enjoy the fact that every room is slightly different and yet all have quirky old parquet floors and sparkling white bathrooms. Breakfast in the Terrazza Brunelleschi with the winter sun rising over the Duomo is spectacular.

The hotel is about a block from the train station and is easy to access by using the tunnel under the street. The hotel is in an area of Florence that makes all major tourist sites easily accessible on foot. There are many places in the neighborhood to eat and the hotel has a high quality restaurant. Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the fifth […] floor and has a very good view of the city. The room we were in(162) was quite large and very impressive, the room and bath was very clean and well appointed. That being said I did find the reception desk to be somewhat aloof and detached, perhaps this is the norm in a large hotel. We spent four nights at the Grand Hotel Baglioni and had a wonderful time! The hotel is certainly housed within an old building, but it has so much character! The stained glass windows are gorgeous and we were lucky enough to have a large one in our room. The staff was wonderful as well. We had dinner three nights at the rooftop restaurant and the food […] and service were impeccable. The restaurant staff including Antonio, Claudio and especially Vincenzo were amazing and made our stay truly something to remember. If we have another opportunity to visit Florence, we will definitely stay at the Grand Baglioni Hotel again. The breakfast buffet was great and convenient. The wifi was readily available - so no worries there. Another plus, is that many of the tours in and round Florence leave from right across the piazza from the hotel. The hotel lobby was grand and impressive. Our room was decent, however a bit older than shown on their website. Neverthless the room was charming and the bed comfy. The bathroom, however, needed some renovation (particularly the bath/shower). Great location particularly if you are coming in by train. Great location & easy access to all! Variety selections of breakfast buffet with a Duomo view, too bad bf wasn't set-up from the rooftop, but still a nice view. Upon checking-in it took awhile, the rep's excuse was his finding us a nice room with a view. Yeah right! We've got a view of a side street & a pedestrian. Thanks for the effort! Aircon was'nt […] working on our 2nd night, so we have to open the window (typical European hotel style, when it's cold for them the aircon will not operate). Bed was firm but big enough & 3people could fit in. Water in the shower room kept changing the temp from hot to extremely hot. Maybe I'm taking too long in the shower room... Hehehe! But overall, still willing to come back because of the location. Les mer

We had two rooms - a double for us and twin for our children aged 17 and 15. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Rooms characterful, attractive and very comfortable indeed. The views over Florence from the rooftop terraces and from inside the restaurant were quite magical - especially at dusk. Excellent location just a walk across from the station […] for those arriving from Pisa, though we arrived at Florence's own Peretola airport (via Air France from London City Airport) which was only about 10-15 minutes or so by taxi and c. 25 euros. The Baglio is just a couple of minutes walk from the Medici Chapels, Mercato Centrale, Santa Maria Novella, Duomo and 5-10-15 minutes walk form Piazza Signoria/Uffizi/Ponte Vecchio etc. Good trattoria just opposite the Medici Chapel called "Porscopino" (Porcupine) - really popular with local people and we had a terrific meal there. Hotel had and interesting history too with great photos of old Florence displayed on the landings. We were all sad to leave, which says it all for me. Les mer

The Baglioni is well situated and offered us an excellent few days in Florence. The dining room is situated on the top floor offering fantastic views of the city. A real treat. Our room was large and very comfortable. The only hiccup was in trying to pay our accommodation in the evening prior to our departure and being told by the front desk staff that […] the cash register was closed. The hotel is located close to the train station which makes it an easy walk with luggage in tow. The rooms are large and have a distinctive elegance and charm with a typical European flair. Easy walking distance to attractions, restaurants and shopping. Would recommend this hotel without reservation.

There is a reason, in this case, why the Expedia rates are lower than those you can obtain elsewhere. I am confident I had the smallest room in the hotel. I know this because several colleagues were also at this hotel while I was there. They booked directly from the hotel (at a higher rate) and all had much larger rooms. The hotel is nice but nothing special and clearly needs an update. From a working perspective the rooms are too dark. However, if you want to have a perfect view from the 5th floor restaurant and your 4th floor room on the city and be in walking distance to more or less everything than this is the perfect place to stay.

Although the hotel is 100 hundred years old, we did not expect the room furnitures are the same the hotel, as for the bathroom, the water temperature for showering is rather irregular, sudden hot and cold, not consistence, the soundproofing is very disturbing, you be able to hear next door moaning, with this rate, I think I might able to check-in another […] much better hotel. This hotel was extremely outdated. There were ants and roaches in our bathroom. There was a blinding blue neon sign outside of our window, which was so high up that you had to stand on your tippy toes to see out of it. The room was like a prison cell and the bed was beyond hard. The hair dryer was from the sixties and didn't work at all. We asked for […] a more updated room but they were full the first night we were there. They said that they could possibly upgrade us the second day but there would be a fee. The only redeeming quality to this hotel is the view from the roof; however, it was rented out to private events both nights we were there, so we weren't able to eat at the hotel. My wife and I stayed here for two nights as part of our Honeymoon. This is an excellend hotel in a great location. Our room was extremely clean along with the rest of the hotel. The restaurant on the roof is great and the view is even better. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

The Hotel is literally a stones throw from the station. It is in an ideal location, and all the major teats of Florence are in a short walk away. The view from the breakfast room is stunning!

Overall, we were satisfied, however the nighttime front desk staff were not friendly or helpful. There were several occasions that we needed assistance and they were completely unresponsive. Do not accept room 127 for you stay; the only annoying thing about this hotel was that you could hear water rushing down the pipes late at night and early morning. Other than this we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well located, friendly hotel. Nice big room with squeeky wooden floors. breakfast was suboptimal. the coffee tasted bad. service was so-so.. Location remains great. The concierge gave us completely wrong walking dierctions for a restaurant he recommended. but it is a nice place to stay overpriced

Grand hotel in the heart of Florence...probably once someone's palace! Large room, with updated large bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. This hotel was absolutely beautiful! My husband and I were travelling with our 2 teenage kids and we all agreed we just loved this hotel. We liked the historical feel of the hotel and the roof is spectacular. It is central and so walking is easy wherever you want to visit. The room was not what we booked as a "city view" as it had one small window that looked into an abandoned building next door. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom fine. Nothing grand but perfectly lovely to rest […] and cleanup when you are spending time in such a beautiful city.
