Comfort Inn Downtown - Ottawa

Hotel staff tried to please, but it took 3 rooms to find one that was clean enough to put our luggage down. The third room was loud and we were unable to maintain a temperature that was comfortable to sleep. Very disappointed as we have stayed at this location 1 or 2 times a year for the last 6 or 7 years. Good place to stay for a night, the neighborhood is extremely sketchy though (prostitutes and drugs). This is not a good place to stay with kids; however, it was comfortable and clean. The washroom could be a little more "renovated", it was clean though.

Went for a walk at night and its ajacent to a not so nice neighnourhood. As well in the morning we couldn't get any hot water running in the shower. And we had, I would assume house keeping attempt to access our room at 8:30 which woke us up. They didn't even attempt knocking they just came in. Hotel rooms very small for 2 double beds, Room either way to hot or way too cold. Room lock was broken so had to change rooms with 3 kids. Continential breakfast was simple and not filling for breakfast. Way too many sweet items for the kids.

i like to stay again there if i go out in any city. in canada.

we came from sudbury, as a wheelchair curling team to compete in the biggest world wheelchair curling bonspiel.we had two wheelchair acc. rooms and one regular room, at the days Inn in ottawa. This hotel was close to the location where I was working and was the purpose of my stay.

Located in a run down part of town. Rooms are cold, wireless does not work in the more remote rooms, and the hallway stinks like disinfectant. Reasonably cheap, but still not a good deal.

It looks and feels like a cheap Motel!!! No fridge, no microwave and stained linen!! It was supposed to be included!!! I'm very disappointed.

The Wifi doesnt work, the room is not clean, the washroom door doesnt close properly, the TV doesnt tune in any channels, above all the this the price is eqvivalent to a 3 or 4 star room. Avoid!

Check-in was confusion. Tried to make me pay again after already paying online. Advertised free wifi in room. Not so. Being down town in our nation's capital you would expect nothong less than a solid Internet connection; I had connection for less than fifteen minutes at 6:00 the following morning! Paint chipping from ceiling and paint splatter on carpet. […] Flushing the toilet sounded like what I would imagine was the sounds from the sinking of the Titanic! The air conditioner in my room and the 2 rooms beside ours were so loud all night that we couldn't sleep for both nights we stayed there. We shut off our machine but still the noise form the next rooms was horrible. we were there in late September so it wasn't even extreme temperature. I was very satisfied with the possibility of early check in and late check out, since we had travelled with our young kids. If I could add one think, it would have been even better if we had a small fridge in our room .Other than that, I was quite satisfied overall.

Room smelled of urine. We complained - they moved us to a room that had a malfunctioning toilet (sounded like a rocket was being launched). Area around second room was being painted. This place was just bad for a bunch of small reasons combined. First of all, I barely got any sleep because I could hear everyone walking by in front of my room (outside access only). I could even hear the room next to me talking until 3 AM. Second the room had NO TV BOX, I was there 3 days and this was a real pain, always having to get up to adjust […] the volume or turn of the TV. I called to ask for a remote and they said I will bring you one, they just never came, or called back to say they where not coming. Nice service... Then the breakfest was worst I have ever seen. We know continental breakfests are already boring, but this place had like NOTHING, no fruits, no bagels, 2 greasy muffins choices and frosted flakes. Not even peanut butter, I mean comon, who doesnt have PEANUT BUTTER! I can usually at least have toast and peanut butter with a orange or a banana in every other continental breakfest I have had. And to top it all off, I had lots of things to carry when I left the hotel, so I asked for a simple plastic bag, the guy says I don't have one, nice thanks for trying to help me out, I go ask the lady managing the "kitchen" area for a bag, she says sorry I cant help you... I mean COME ON, I am a client asking for a bag, I even said a trash bag will do, most hotels will go out of there way to help a customer in need, all I wanted was a stupid trash bag and it was a blunt NO SIR. I was greeted and served quickly , the room was very clean and quiet. They had a nice breakfast and were very helpful when we needed a taxi I would recommend staying there

Hello: we stayed at this hotel in May 2011 and we found it to be: - very conveniently located (close to downtown Ottawa attractions) - very clean and very comfortable - very good breakfast. I would come back anytime. Thanks.

The Comfort in is touted as downtown, but don't be fooled? it is several km to the Byward market and Parliament Hill, really not walking distance. The hotel is one of the more basic Comfort Inns. It is in the process of some renovation in the public areas. But the rooms are huge and everything works, including the wifi. Everything was great except the air conditioner that was noisy and we couldn't have a pleasant sleep at night.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN! MY FAMILY AND I DECIDED TO STAY IN OTTAWA FOR THE NEW YEAR AND THE HOTEL WE HAVE DECIDED TO STAY IN IS COMFORT INN LOCATED ON MONTREAL STREET. AS WE HAD REACHED IN ON NEW YEARS DAY AT 4 AM IN THE MORNING, OUR BEDROOM HAD A FOUL SMELL AND WAS EXTREMELY COLD. SO WE SAW THE HEATER AND ASSUMED OK […] THEY WERE AIRING OUT THE ROOM SO THAT’S THE REASON WHY OF THE ROOM BEING COLD. WELL, MY TWO YOUNG BOYS 7 YEARS AND 3 YEARS OLD COULDN’T SLEEP AND MY HUSBAND AND I WHO IS NINE MONTHS PREGNANT WAS AWAKE ALL NIGHT FROM BEING COLD. WE HAD CALLED THE FRONT DESK AND THE EMPLOYEE HAD SENT MAINTENANCE TO OUR ROOM TO FIND OUT THAT THE HEATER WAS NOT WORKING WELL. SO THE STAFF WERE KIND ENOUGH TO TRANSFER US INTO ANOTHER ROOM. WELL, WELL, WELL, AS WE THOUGHT THE DRAMA WAS OVER THE SECOND ROOM DID SMELL MUCH BETTER BUT I WENT TO GO TAKE A SHOWER AND NOTICE THE HOT WATER WASN’T WORKING. TEN MINUTES HAD PASS AND NOT A MIST OF HOT WATER IN THE BATHROOM. MIND U, I HAD THE WATER RUNNING FOR TEN MINUTES. SO I HAD CALLED FRONT DESK AGAIN TO EXPLAIN THE HOT WATER WASN’T WORKING. A EMPLOYEE CAME TO CHECK TO SEE WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM AND HE TURNED ON THE PIPE OF THE SINK WHERE WE WASH OUR HANDS , HAD THE WATER RUNNING FROM THE THE BATHTUB AS WELL AND KEPT ON FLUSHING THE TOILET. AS FIVE MINUTES HAD PASS HE TOLD ME TO COME AND LOOK AT WHERE THE NOB IS IN THE BATHTUB. IT WAS ON COLD BUT AS I TOUCHED THE WATER IT WAS STEAMING HOT! THE EMPLOYEE HAD LOOKED ANNOYED AND STARTED GIVING ATTITUDE ASKING ME IF I HAD WATCH TO SEE WHAT HE WAS DOING. I SAID NOT REALLY AND HE WAS EVEN MORE ANNOYED TO EXPLAIN HOW TO GET HOT WATER. SO TO GET HOT WATER IN COMFORT INN HOTEL U HAVE TO: KEEP THE SINK RUNNING, HAVE THE SHOWER RUNNING AS WELL BUT ON COLD AND MAKE SURE YOU FLUSH THE TOILET THREE TIMES! Classic hotel working with an eskeleton crew. Check in was straight forward with no major delays. When asked about wireless internet connection the person at the counter was not very helpful. Hotel was pretty standard and needed some minor maintenance. The carpets in the main halls showed signs of lot of mileage and bleach stains. The room was stuffy […] and had a pervasive moldy smell that required the use of the A/C-Heater. Some of the upholstery was visibly damaged and could be renewed but this should not be a problem if you are not picky. Wireless internet in the bedroom worked fine, the instructions were on top of the TV and were pretty easy to follow; speed was good. Beds were clean, there were plenty pillows, all appliances worked, the bathroom was as clean as it could be (a little dark for my taste though) and there was not a lot of noise from the hall or other rooms. Parking was free which seems to be a plus in Ottawa and the hotel was at a walking distance from restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores, gas stations, etc. They offered a continental breakfast which shouldn't become your main reason to stay in this hotel but is very convenient when you are on a tight schedule. Overall if you are going to stay for a very short time this is a hotel that offers everything you need and it seems to have a good location. Les mer

The room was clean, quiet and spacious. The carpet could be refreshed but for the price, I wouldn't ask for more.

The hotel room was not comfortable. Outside balcony was not clean. HOtel is in serious need of renovation, carpets, walls etc. Was not worth the money paid.

Seulement un petit radiateur electrique qui ne chauffe soi-meme pour la chambre et pas de chaufferie dans la salle de bain.. Je me demanderais comment on s'echauffe lorsqu'on y va en hiver. Aussi, pas de signal wi-fi internet dans les chambres. Le petit-dejeuner est bon et il y a toutes sortes de manger. 2 km au centre-ville. Hotel tranquille.

Hôtel près de la rivière Rideau et d'un super beau Parc avec piste cyclable. Facile d'accès. Chambre ok mais l'aspirateur n'a pas été passé depuis quelque temps...

Hôtel très propre ainsi que la chambre même si hôtel pas très récent. ET je me dois de vous dire aussi amabilité de leur personnel. en vous remerciant.

Situé à 3 km du Parlement et du marché Buy, cet hôtel offre un bon niveau de prestation pour le prix proposé. Le petit-déjeûner mériterait d'être un peu mieux doté mais le principal: confort et propreté sont au rendez-vous.
