Extended Stay America - Madison - Old Sauk Rd. - Madison

Tried this out for the first time. Definitely not a short-stay option. No housekeeping (over three nights). Rudimentary breakfast. Noisy HVAC system.

This was the cleanest and quietest hotel I've stayed at in a long time. Very nice.

The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. We just needed a place to stay overnight and it was more than perfect. Will definitely stay again.

Very nice hotel. Great Value. Large rooms. The kitchen was very complete. New flat screen TVs were being put in each room the day we stayed there.

The bathroom toilet was not cleaned as there was mold around the waterline. Otherwise, it was OK.

Room had a kitchen. There was garbage/rotten food under the sink from the previous guest. Never stay there again.

After reading some of the reviews here, I was a bit apprehensive about my reservation and nearly changed it, but when I arrived I was very pleasantly surprised by the comfort and size of the room. It was clean, the halls were not cluttered, and it was quiet despite being along the highway and being full. In fact, the only complaint I have was the sofa, […] not very modern and a bit old looking, however it was comfortable, and most importantly, so was the bed. Very nice to have a room for once where I could do my own cooking!! I travel frequently and this was the best place, almost like home. Recommend if you are staying in one place for a while and want an apt style atmosphere. Les mer

I thought the hotel was excellent. My only negative comment involves the location and signage. We did not arrive at the hotel until well after dark and there was no signage directing us to the hotel. The hotel is actually located on Junction Court not Road. That was the first source of confusion. Then, there was no signage on the corner of Junction […] Road and Junction Court indicating that the hotel was down at the end of Junction Court (not easily visible from the intersection). All rooms in downtown Madison were booked. Hotels.com got me a room when I was desperate and for that I am happy. However the hotel was a $30.00 cab ride from the Capitol each way, each day. The hotel was great, clean and the people were very friendly. I recommend the hotel for those not wanting to work downtown.

The room smelled of musty old yuck and pets...I arrived late after working all day and didn't have the energy to request being moved...I'm not sure if all rooms qualify for pets but I will certainly check that information next time if I go back.

On Saturday, February 26th, 2011 four of us stayed in two rooms at the Extended Stay Deluxe. Overall, the accommodations were adequate; however, after the four of us talked about our individual rooms, we noticed some discrepancies between the rooms. The bad news: The pillows leave a little to be desired. They were flat as pancakes. Fortunately, after […] calling the front desk, I was able to get two extra pillows, which weren't perfect but helped. One of the two rooms smelled like cigarette smoke and had cigarette holes in the curtain/drapes. It is supposed to be a non-smoking room. Also, one of the two rooms-- the room that smelled like cigarettes -- was missing a coffee maker and coffee. Both rooms had a very active and powerful heater. Leaving the setting at 68 still seemed pretty toasty. Personally, I loved the warm room in the middle of the winter, but a couple of others weren't as enthused about the heater and found it to be too hot . It's worth noting that it wasn't until the next morning that they figured out how to turn the heating unit off, which I thought was kind of funny. The good news: My personal experience with the room I was in at the Extended Stay Deluxe was excellent. I thought it was impeccably clean, orderly, and presentable. (There was a stain on the couch that I willfully ignored.) The refrigerator was so clean it looked new. The stove, cabinets, sink, and counters were also very clean. The bathroom was very clean as well, showing no signs of mold or unwanted hairs that may have been left behind. Overall, I was very impressed with the Extended Stay Deluxe and would stay at another one again and/or recommend staying in one. Les mer

The hotel is conviently located. The staff is very friendly! the rates are very good and the rooms are spacious and clean! There is shopping and resturants near and there is easy access to the highway,

Good location. Nice neighborhood surrounding hotel. Hotel room demonstrated much wear, but appeared clean. Wasn't able to fully lock hotel room door due to settling of building and door jamb being too crooked to lock dead bolt.
