SANTA CLARITA MOTEL - Newhall

I honestly wasn't expecting much for a motel, but the room was very nice. King bed, TV, nice shower, and very clean. I really liked the decor as well. We stayed there to go to Six Flags, which was a short drive, and the price was quite a bit more reasonable than any of the larger chain hotels in the area. The only downside was the mini refrigerator's […] motor was really loud and we ended up unplugging it when we went to sleep. The hotel is very close to Magic Mountain. It has an amazing amount of modern updates such as modern furniture and high end shower fixtures. I was pleasantly surprised by this. Definitely was not expecting the nicely updated room. On the downside, parking spaces were lacking and are a bit tight. However you can park on the street.

It is a nice place to stay and is convenient to the freeways. I have stayed their before and would come back again.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights for a trip to Magic Mountain. Hotel was less than 5 miles from the park and was near other conveniences like coffee shops and restaurants. The hotel does not have a lot of parking. There is a railroad literally right next to the hotel. The trains did not bother me, but did wake up my boyfriend. We were impressed […] initially with the overall look of the room -- nice headboards, TV, etc. During our first night there we were both bit several times by insects which we are only to assume were bed bugs. I would not stay at this hotel again, nor recommend it to someone else. Les mer

I liked the hotel, it was clean and in a great location. Don't expect much from the breakfast though because the pastry's were gone in minutes. The staff was ok. The rooms were very nicely decorated and the beds were awsome. I would stay here again. Plus you can't beat the price.

Hotel is 30 min from LAX airport. We used this at somewhere to stay while travelling to San Francisco as the motel is not far from the Interstate. Would recommend.

Stayed there for (2) nights for Magic Mountain. Was skeptical at first when arriving at night time with the surrounding neighborhood we drove through to get there but upon arrival was extremely surprised !! It's a well taken care of property. Though the rooms are a bit small, they obviously were recently renovated with new furnishings and beds, paint, […] bathroom fixtures, tub/shower etc. It's a small property, but supplied wi-fi. Continental breakfast...well...it's not. It's coffee and a bagged pastry in the office the size of a closet. But for the price and proximity to Magic Mountain (about 5 mins) you can't go wrong. Major eateries right down the street. There is a train track right across the street which could be a bit of a bother to some, but honestly it didn't bother me or the other 3 in our room. If you're willing to make the 5 mile drive to the park and save about $50 a night over a name brand motel/hotel, it's well worth it in my opinion. Don't expect to get what your not paying for at the likes of a Holiday Inn or Courtyard, but do expect a good value at a clean and well maintained motel. Les mer

Me and my girlfriend have just got back from a road-trip holiday in California and stayed at this hotel as its close to Six Flags Magic Mountain. The room was probably the best we'd stayed in (we'd been staying in America's Best Value Inn, Travelodge, Motel 8 ect) had nice modern décor, a flat screen TV and all the usual facilities. It took less than […] 10 minutes to get the Six Flags too. The only 2 downsides were that its next to a busy road and the sound insulation is shocking, we actually thought the door wasn't shut properly! Secondly, this will affect anyone using a Mastercard branded CashPassport card, the guy on reception refused to accept the card, despite me using it without any problems at any other motel we stayed at so had to pay cash, he said something about not having the machine to process the cards I think. Lovely hotel though especially considering the price and great location for Six Flags. Les mer

our flight was delayed, but they kept our room til 1 am. we requested a room on the ground floor after they had assigned us a room at the second floor, and the front desk clerk made it possible, he was not at all grouchy considering it was way past midnight. we also asked for late check out at 1230 pm instead of 11 am as written on the contract, and […] the front desk clerk on duty the following day, gave us that privilege, too. the room was big, we had 2 queen sized beds, both beds were comfortable, and the cleaning ladies the following day were all smiling. what a refreshing change! it was a perfect choice, to visit our boys at The Master's College. Convenient to Newhall, Valencia, Santa Clarita, California Institute of the Arts. Train noise was minimal. The whole area is car dependent so it matters little that it's down the road a bit. Close to shops and restaurants in Newhall (go to Egg Plantation for breakfast!). Rooms were clean, staff were helpful and courteous. Bonus: beautiful beds of roses […] in full bloom. Les mer

This hotel had the most comfortable beds I've ever experienced in a hotel- or even at home. I slept great, the location was easily accessible to where I needed to go, and to restaurants, the mall, the freeway, and the beautiful green hills in Santa Clarita. The only improvement I could see was that with it being so full, the parking lot wasn't big enough […] for all the cars. I guess I wasn't the first to discover this diamond in the rough! Les mer

Clean motel, good bath amenities. Super comfortable beds! A little loud due to the railroad being so near, but overall great motel for the money!!

The motel itself as well as the staff are average at best, but that is not the problem. It is located 10 feet from the highway and across the street from the busiest railroad tracks I have ever been next to. If the noise doesn't wake you the earthquake-like rumbling of the entire room will. This goes on all night. NO SLEEPING ALLOWED here.

Nothing of what I expecting. Not convienent what so ever. To far away from restaurant and attractions. Motel staff unpleasant to deal with.

This was a good value for the price. The room was clean and quiet and convenient to our meeting in downtown Newhall. I would stay here again.

For an off-the-beaten-track motel, this one is luxurious for it's modest price. I booked it online and we stayed during the week so may have gotten a better rate than stopping last minute on a weekend. We stayed twice, once on the way to San Diego and then again on our return to San Francisco. The return trip had us in the room closest to the highway […] but even my noise-sensitive husband didn't complain. The sound-proofing worked well (especially with air-conditioner), and the room was lightly scented with the smell of fresh clean laundry. Very soothing after a long hot drive. I never care much if the room is nicely decorated as long as it's clean ans safe. These rooms are not only clean and safe but also have a feel of luxury. The older man behind the desk seemed a little grumpy and questioned the fact that my banking card was not in my married name although I had ID proving both names valid. I thought he was being overly suspicious but the rest of the staff seems very accommodating and friendly. Les mer

Nice and clean newly painted rooms. Not that far from the theme park but a little bit isolated place in the area but its cheap and nice to stay. The train kinda bothers you a little bit but over all, it was ok and affordable.

The Overall Stay was OK The beds were sleepable. Like most hotels John Wayne TP in the Standard at this place. Parking was Horrible and we had a perfect View of the Utility shed and several different paint cans

As a single female traveler I have stayed at this hotel over the past year every since a family member had been diagnosed with brain cancer. The hotel is clean, safe, and comfortable. It is close to a mall, Magic Mountian, Star bucks etc.

It is what it is, a motel near train tracks in an industrial district. If you are going to Magic Mt. spend the extra money and stay somewhere closer. The room was remodeled and clean enough but the area isn't the best.

Das Motel ist im Preis/Leistung gesehen gut zu bewerten, es ist etwas älter, aber sehr sauber und hat grosse Zimmer im typischen motel-charakter.
