Regency Inn & Suites - McKinney

Well... all the reviews I saw when I booked were very low 2's! I'll give it a three, but barely! The Staff were nice. The outside of the Hotel looked Old, but was in OK shape. The inside looked old as well, but not to bad! The Pool area was nice....but the INside Pool was COLD, and I didn't think the Hot Tub was hot enough, and the Jets...pitiful! Hotel mgmt. stated they had just taken over hotel and were working to get it in shape. This hotel should have been closed during this time!!! Rooms were filthy and towels and linens were stained yellow- some with holes! There were no light bulbs in lamps. No soft drinks or snacks in machines. No dead bolts on some of the doors. We had to take lid off […] of back of toilet to flush each time. The soap was so old it literally crumbled!! Coffee makers in room but no coffee! I could go on and on.......The management was nice and did try to correct some of our problems but I would NOT recommend this hotel !!! The room was clean and neat. The bed was very comfortable. The Owner Operators were very nice and helpful locating local food and recreation. The continental breakfast was just barely continental. The place was a little low budget, but very clean and the mattress looked brand new. The guy at the front desk was very curious and helpful. I will definitely be back here if I need to stay in the area again.

Not a experience, even my kids commented about experience. Hotel could be nice, but seems neglected. Rooms smelled of cigarette smoke. I know they say "you get what you pay for" and that is right for this hotel. There was a big water stain on the carpet from the air conditioner having leaked prior to my stay and the smell of mold. I will be making many trips to this area in the next six months planning a wedding and WILL NOT ever stay at this hotel again. I will pay a little extra […] and stay where I know its clean.!!!!!!!!! I can't really complain , because what I paid for the d Room . But the carpets was filthy , half the the lights didn't work , the remote only turned on the TV and did change the channels , and the sheets were burnt with cigarettes . Can't see myself ever staying here again .

The room and neighborhood wasnt bad. I would recommend it for a short stay in which you wont be spending a lot of time in the room. The beds arent very comfortable but good sized.

Staff was friendly, but seemed to have limited resources. When the room was cleaned, towels were never provided, so sometimes after getting in around 10pm, we had to go to the front desk for towels.

Found a cockroach on the inside of our door and just overall felt nasty for being there. The bed was awful. The room walls are super thin and you can hear everything around you. Will NOT ever be going back again!

Overall the stay was bad. The room was hot and stayed hotfoot most of the night. The guy that worked the next morning was rude.

We got to the hotel at 12:30 pm, our room was not ready so we had to wait 30 minutes. upon entering the room, we notice a dirty black sock, from the previous guest I think. there was hardly any toilet paper in the bathroom, so I had to go to the front desk and ask for more. The towel rack in the bathroom was falling off the wall. The second morning, […] I took my shower and picked up the blow dryer to dry my hair, that did not work. The bulb was blown out of one of the wall lights. the television was very old, and the picture was blurry and hard to see. Their "breakfast buffet" was a joke, cold cereal, bread for toast, and there was only a few danish on a tray. I will never stay at any of the Regency brand hotels again. Les mer

The room was not clean. There was dirt under the tables. The sink was stained and my toilet did not flush well. It was a convenient location for me though.

the location was good,and things went downhill from there,We did not receive the room we reserved, the room was dirty, there were no towels in the room,the continental breakfast non-existent. won't stay there again.

Overkill with the fabreeze immediately noticed when we entered the room. Too easy to hear noise from hallway and adjacent rooms. What do you expect for the price you pay!

Stayed here last minute on a trip, and it was one of the worst hotels ive ever been in. The comforter on my bed had only what i can only somewhat tastfully describe as dried snot or mucus of a red color stuck to it. My non smoking room smelled of smoke, the hallways reeked of an unidentified horrendous odor, wall fixtures were crooked, wall switches […] were missing, and the common area floors looked uncleaned for a week. The front pool looked nice, but i didnt dare it. Staff was fine, what you would expect at such a hotel. Given the ramshackle state of the hotel, and the worst cleanliness issues ive ever seen, i would look anywhere else before staying here. Les mer

The hotel was nice except the hot tub/pool. We booked this hotel because it was Feb. and we wanted a hot tub to relax in after a 1000 mile trip. The hot tub didn't work. I was very disapointed.

My wife and I needed a room for one night. Regency Inn provided a safe, clean, inexpensive no frills room where we could stay with our dog. It was exactly what we needed and met our expectations.

I love this hotel because of the proximity to everything downtown Mckinney, shopping, food and the reasonable price. The new owners are doing a great job renovating as well as keeping the best parts the same as before. while i would recomend this room. i was very disappointed when i learned the advertisement i read on hotel.com did not represent the room i had. the discription was free breakfast. continental was available. whirlpool tubs and none exist at this place. indoor pool was not heated. it was quiet and clean but i search for specific things i want and they […] were not available. suggest people call and verify the requirements they are looking for before booking. Actually, it was a very pleasant stay. Small pool, very little Continental breakfast, but for the price, no complaint here. Loved the location and very good maid service.

The hotel was disappointing at best, old and run down, holes in the walls, rust on the drains, for a two bed two person room only 1 coffee packet the cups given to make coffee stated not for hot liquids, the security doors not working, breakfast cheap and sparce juice dispenser not working really I belief their were to cheap to fill it. phones missing […] plates, over priced and felt cheated and taken advantage of by hotel.com would not recommend this for your family or your pocket book Les mer

We checked in late at night, expecting to escape the humid Texas night in our hotel room. What we found was a sauna. The air was off in our room and clearly had been all day. It took well into the night for it to cool down. The hallways were equally warm. The continental breakfast the next morning was practically non-existent: a few bagels and muffins […] were all that were left when we came down at 7:45. The doors to get into the hotel were not secure - not only did you NOT have to use your key card, it didn't even shut all the way. (There was a key card lock but it was useless since the door didn't shut.). The beds were uncomfortable. We were only staying one night - I thought it would be fine since I am not a picky traveler. Hotel was understaffed; front desk could NOT bring towels to the room since daily maid service FORGOT to leave clean ones. Also did not provide Kleenex tissues once ran out and toilet paper and coffee for the coffee machine. Sheets DID NOT fit properly on the mattress and were sagging ALL NIGHT. TV had to be plugged in and unplugged to turn off and on; Tub drained under wall and into carpet between bed and wall, toilet would not stop running, heater would make clicking sounds when we tried to turn down temp. This place needs serious upkeep. The place looks clean but.......

The beds are ROCK hard and the wireless internet did not work at all unless you go to lobby and sit in a cubby hole. Price would have been okay if these two things were present.

when we pulled in we noticed the parking lot almost empty. there were only about 10 cars total for 2 nights. there was no air conditioning in the hallway. several lights did not work. the exterior doors did not work even though they had the card swipers installed. the room was very small. 2 lights did not work in room. the alarm clock did not work. […] the hall and the room did not have a good smell (like stale cigarette smoke). the beds were not comfortable (almost like sleeping on concrete). the towels and bedding had stains on them. the room regrigerator not very cold. i would not recommend this hotel to anyone. like i said the parking lot only had about 10 cars. the other hotels in area were packed. i guess word has gotten around about the nasty conditions of this hotel. This hotel was ok for the price. Basically just a place to sleep for our stay. Breakfast could have a few more items and maybe be open a little longer. Was dissappointed that the hot tub was still out of order after a month of reading another review.
