ALTHOUGH THE HOTEK WAS CLEAN AND THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY WE WERE A BIT DISAPPOINTED IN THE ROOM AS FAR AS NO PLUGS IN THE SINK OR BATH AND BATH ALL CHIPPED. WHEN .MYHUSBAND HAD A SHAVE THE WATER HAD TO BE KEPT RUNNING RESULTING IN WATER WASTE..ONE OF THE WALL LIGHTS WAS NOT WORKING AND WAS HANGING OFF THE WALL . CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WAS VERY BASIC […] AND WE THOUGHT THAT THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT LEAST YOGURT AND CHEESE AND COLD MEAT..iT WAS JUST THE SMALL THINGS THAT NEEDED TO HAVE SOME ATTENTION AS THE HOTEL IS A BEAUTIFUL BUILDING OR WILL BE WHEN THE RENOVATION IS COMPLETED. What a total disaster! We were put in a filthy room with a staircase from the bedroom (loft) to the Loo. Walls were filthy. No TV. We moved to a slightly better room but it was so Old fashioned. The hairdryer was a built in wall version from the 1950's and the TV was run by an Aerial which had to be held in a certain position in order to watch the 3 […] TV channels that they have. It is under contruction but personally I think it would be better if it was knocked down and a new one built. There was no wifi except in the open area in the lobby which was really just 2 sofas filled with kids trying to surf. Really bad! Les mer

It was very horrible and disorganized. The rooms did not look as how it was on the website they checked me in very late, the heat didnt work in the rooms and even though we called and let them know no one still didn't fixed the problem.

Very reasonable for the location. You get what you pay for and nothing more!! Rooms need a deep clean. TV channels limited and of a poor quality. Only toast ansd cereal for breakfast. Probably spend a little more next time I am in the area. Parking a nightmare, had to leave my vehicle in a residential side road.

the hotels is clean big rooms well presented nothing wrong with that at all breakfast cause we just had breakfast fine. the staff were so poor misrable dont even talk to you typical english kak. i stay in scotland and you never even get that traveling on a bus . couldnt wait to get back to lovely glasgow. they need to jack up their attitude. would not […] go back there ever. why are they so misrable i cant get it at all i know you have bad days but they always like that. what a life. Excellent stay with an excellent price, staff very friendly and accommodating.

You get what you pay for

Towels and bathroom were dirty ,luckily we were staying only one night so we chose not to take a shower. Tap was leaking, window next to the lavatory was manky. Room and bathroom in desperate need of some TLC. Parking space was limited, however a member of staff kindly helped us to park in a vacant disabled parking space. The coffee and chocolate hot […] beverage were enjoyable, breakfast was minimalist- toast, butter and jam. Waited over 15 mins just to sign a form and receive key card. No one else in queue. Clear lack of communication between staff members. No leadership from senior staff. Told that one person would look after me, then handed over to someone else. Manager aimlessly walking in circles behind desk. Finally given a room. On arrival the door was open. It could […] not be locked from the inside or outside using the keycard. Also the room had two twin beds not a double bed as requested!. Informed manager who gave me a new room with double bed as requested. Do not recommend staying here. Customer service wins customers and repeat business and these guys clearly have a lot of work to do on this front!!! Les mer

We stayed at the Queens Hotel Crystal Palace for about 6 nights at the beginning of december, we chose it as it was a lot cheaper than hotels in the city. (even after you pay the 10 pounds a day for a transit card.) we discovered on our first night that we shared our room with a pigeon who lived in the exhaust fan of our room, needles to say we didnt […] get much sleep with its incessant coo-ing. The "Continental Breakfast" is served on the top floor. (you will have to walk up the stairs unless you want to wait 5 mins for the one elevator) Breakfast consits of one type of cereal, toast with jam and tea or coffee, was a bit of a let down seeing as the woman we spoke to at the desk made it sound like a lot more (fruit, yoghurt etc) overall it is nothing like how they advertise it but was cheap and relatively clean. Convenient location for what I needed, clean and warm, single glazed windows so very very very noisey all day and night a very busy road like trying to sleep next to the M25! Thin walls so could hear entire conversations, coughs and arguments of other rooms plus people on the street and I was on the 4th floor. Breakfast was toast or cornflakes, coffee, […] tea or juice all from machines not nice. Not value for money and if I hadn't pre-paid would have moved. Les mer

we were put in the "New" part of the hotel, which involveda VERY lengthy walk down 3 flights of narrow stairs and lots of narrow corridors (no offers of help with our luggage!) The "new" room appeared to be unfinished as some of the sockets did not work, the bathroom was clean and functional, the beds were really lumpy, and although we were promised […] more pillows they never arrived- the staff probably couldnt be bothered with the long walk!! the staff were generally pleasant but did only what they NEEDED to do. would definately NOT stay here again. From the outside the hotel looks lovely, however inside I have never been in such a dirty & dated hotel. In addition to this, the night I stayed they weren't in a position to provide an evening meal due to the volumes they had staying (they had kids from europe staying for a football competition)...... However Surely you prepare for this!!! I wasn't […] told that the resturant wouldn't be open when I checked in, otherwise I would have demanded my money back! Upon check in I was the only person in the queue and it took ages to get my room key! You can also hear alot of traffic noise if you stay in the front of the hotel. I only stayed here due to the hotel being close to a business appointment. I will never stay here again. I think the best option is for the hotel to be knocked down!! Les mer

Staff helped us with our difficulties and were very nice. Room was not good. !, A step just inside the door made me fall. The same step was a danger when in transit to the bathroom. IT WAS NOT HIGHLIGHTED. 2. We booked asking for access to the room with no stairs. Mr.Chapman is a stroke victim and cannot walk unaided. Satisfactory for our purpose - to meet friends on nearby caravan site. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, especially the duty manager on Thursday 15 Sept. Took time to show us extra parking facilities. Small changes would benefit e.g. hooks and a shelf in bathroom (room 67). Bathroom needed floor tiles spruced up. The best thing about Queens hotel was leaving. When we were greeted in the lobby they said in the reception that our room had been taken by someone else, but "we would get a bigger room at no extra cost" which sounded good since they had given our room to someone else. when we came to our room it was one bed in a corner and two prison beds that had […] been put together with tape (this is not a joke), and although the carpet was clean, the walls were filthy with some sort of dark smudge on it, and there was even mould around the windows. We went to complain immediately and said that this was unacceptable, but our only response was "Yes yes, and goodbye" everyday. The stay at Queens hotel has been a repulsive and horrid stay and I would never recommend it to any living being. Les mer

I booked a family room at this hotel for £120 for one night. When I got thier I was given a very small room with a very small bed !. Checking the signs on the front of the hotel this should have cost £50. Hotel is very shabby and old with missing windows in the stairways and curtains hanging off the poles. Breakfast was not until 7.00 which was too […] late for me. I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone. Les mer

Queens palace was a fairly clean hotel but the location was really far. It was difficult to take the train in and have to walk so far with luggage to the hotel. The closest train station is the Crystal Palace station. I did not get a chance to try the breakfast. If I come back to London, I would probably try to find a place closer to the city since […] we were primarily there to see the city of London. Les mer

The room was clean, the linen was clean, the staff were friendly. Be warned that if you're travelling from either Gipsy Hill or Crystal Palace railway stations, it's a longish walk up hill to the hotel. The welcome in the hotel isn't friendly. The room not to bad needs a good clean. You can't see the tv from the bed. I went there to have a relaxing weekend bit I didn't. To get to the room it felt like I had to do a marathon to get there being disabled that wasn't fun. In the night all the electric went out in the when my partner went up to reception […] and told them they said they sill come & sort it out un 5 mins they didn't sort it out until 2 hours before check out. Nice enough, good value for money, clean rooms & a friendly service. However calling two pieces of toast a 'continential breakfast' is pushing it. Also getting fresh soap & shampoo in the rooms seems to be a bit of a lottery.

Hello, Awful rooms (tiny,bed uncomfy ect ect) Just don't! Spend the extra £5er and get somewhere nice! Plus clampers in car park! Don't waste your time and money on an awful night!

This hotel is so far away from the city center that we had to take a train to get to the city center. It is ugly and the rooms are very small. It looks really scary in general although it is cheap. However whatever you save on the hotel you will pay for it on the trains or tube. Besides, from the train station is a 20 minute walk to the hotel up a hill!!! […] Imagine that having a very big lugagge, its a nightmare. Please don't stay at this hotel if you can, you are better off at a hostel on the city center than here. The neighborhood looks also scary, they even have signs warning you to watch out for strangers because there have been reports of robery in that area. Les mer

It was the second time that we were accommodated in the Queens Hotel. We enjoyed very much the window panorama from our room. The room was comfortable, it was a quiet place and everything was extremely clean. We had a helpful staff, we befriended the manager of the hotel, the receptionists helped us a lot and the cleaning ladies did their job in an […] exemplary way. So, if you are looking for a quiet hotel, with a helping staff, in a beautiful area of London we warmly recommend this hotel. Les mer

Dreadful hotel. First room we were given was so small that the double bed was pushed up against the wall. We were given a second room and this was marginally better, but had a king size bed with a double quilt on it, which did not fit. The floor was wonky and the window did not have a lock. Bathroom was adequate but in general the whole place needs […] a good overhaul. We didn't feel in the slightest bit comfortable in this hotel. I booked and paid for a single room and was provided with a room with two single beds, a bunk bed and cooking facilities and a fridge! Bedding was clean and beds reasonably comfortable for the price paid. (I chose the best bed!) The bathroom was clean, modern and bright. Window had a problem with closing but on calling reception, help arrived within […] minutes. The bar food service closes at 9pm, so watch out for this if you arrive late. But there are plenty of nice places to eat in Crystal Palace. The only thing that lets this place down is that they don't use a bin liner int he rather dirty unattractive waste bin in the room. Shame when everything else is OK. Breakfast is good value; choice of cereal, toast, jam, butter, PROPER orange juice and GOOD TEA! I would stay again not for a luxurious weekend but for a place to put your head down for the night it's OK. Les mer

The room was fine, but we arrived late with a baby in tow who was sleeping and were given the wrong room type with no cot. After about 30 minutes we were eventually given the room key to an acceptable room. The breakfast was very very basic but the hotel does have parking and if you are just using it as a place to sleep it is ok

There are only 3 good things I can say about the Queens; the rooms were basically clean, the beds were comfortable, and they will keep your luggage in a room while you travel elsewhere. Except for the evening desk clerk, Anie, no one knew what they were doing. Wake up calls never happened, causing us to almost miss 2 trips! No hairdryers or irons […] as promised....anywhere in hotel. The rooms look nothing like the picture on the website, either theirs or Hotels.com; they were so small there was no where to put your luggage and still be able to walk around the room. We used the Queens Crystal Palace as a home base and took multiple tours throughout Europe and the UK. This was absolutely the worst hotel of any that we stayed in while in Europe. The continental breakfast was as basic as they come....plain cheap white bread, butter and jam, watered down juice, bad coffee and tea. Once in awhile they had canned fruit cocktail, but not always. Oh they also had corn flakes and cocoa krispries! Les mer

The hotel is a bit older and the rooms are extremely small. The one we stayed in had a bed in it with no room to walk around it. There's no mirror in the bathroom, so it's very difficult to shave. The door did not close properly. The room WAS very clean though. The people working the front desk had very little to no customer service skills with the […] exception of the lady who checked us out. It is very far from central London and takes quite a bit of planning to get around. The complimentary continental breakfast was a joke. Les mer

Im fairly easy to please, but I found this place to have a character congrous to that of London and I found it very comfortable. Maybe, the bathroom needed some remodeling and the room is quite basic, but who goes to London to stay in their hotel rooms anyways? Stay here and stay out in beautiful London more

From the outside the hotel looks ok but once you paid and look into your room the nightmare begins... There was not a single piece of furniture which was not broken or damaged. It smells, there were holes in the wall and the floor was anything but clean. Wenn ich an London denke, denke ich vorallem an 1. überteuerte Hotels mit guter Hygiene oder 2. dreckige Absteigen, die für ihre Verhältnisse ebenfalls überteuert sind. Dieses Hotel hat mich sehr überrascht, wir hatten zu unserem Doppelbett zwar noch 2 Hochbetten in unserem Zimmer, dennoch war genug Platz vorhanden, das Badezimmer zwar klein, aber gut. […] Ich war sehr erfreut über die Sauberkeit im Bett! Ich hatte keine Flecken im gesamten Bett und auf der Matratze, keine Haare. Es war geflegt, ich habe mich sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Hotel liegt zwar ein wenig außerhalb (mit dem Bus ca. 50 min., aber dafür kommt man an vielen tollen Orten vorbei), doch die Lage ist kein Problem, geht man 5 min. zu fuß kommt man zu einem großen Sainsbury (Supermarkt), einigen Pubs und sowohl zu teuren Restaurants als auch günstigeren Alternativen. Tolle Umgebung und man hat von einigen Stellen einen tollen Blick auf ganz London (112m über London). Die Leute dort und auch das Hotelpersonal sind sehr freundlich und helfen immer gerne! Das Frühstück haben wir nicht getestet. Ich würde dort immer wieder gerne hinfahren und für nicht allzuviel Geld, bekommt man ein sauberes Zimmer, mit freundlichem Personal und einer schönen Umgebung. Les mer

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung, einfache Unterkunft aber ausreichend, Busverbindung direkt vor der Tür, bis zur nächsten U-Bahn dauert die Fahrt ca. 30min., London Overground + Busbahnhof ca. 10min. zu Fuß entfernt, alle Geschäfte in 5min. Entfernung erreichbar, Frühstück ausreichend (frischer Toast, mehrere Sorten Marmelade, Cornflakes, Saft, […] Milch, Kakao, Tee und Kaffee) Les mer

Vi havde booket 2 tremandsværelser. Det ene lå helt nede i kælderen og der var kun det nederste af et vindue og det var som en sauna derinde.. det andet værelse var ok.. Vi fik heldigvis et nyt værelse da vi henvendte os i receptionen og man kunne se på personalet at dette skete ofte.. Og en anden ting var at de ansatte ikke kunne finde rundt på hotellet, […] så vi gik bare i ring flere gange, da opbygningen og skiltingen ikke gav mening. Men altså selve værelserne var ok, bortset fra sengene, der var ret hårde. Men til prisen kan man næste ikke forvente andet. Nogle af damerne i receptionen havde en rigtig træls attitude. Morgenmaden er ikke noget at råbe hurra for, men igen, til prisen. Hotellets beliggenhed er ok, da der går bus og tog hele tiden :) men jeg ville ikke anbefale hotellet til andre. Les mer

Super søde mennesker, virker god service.. Dejlig pænt hotel, og jeg kommer helt sikkert igen

....ist das Hotel weit außerhalb von London City gelegen, mit tube kommt man dennoch recht gut voran. Das Frühstück im Hotel besteht lediglich aus etwas altem Müsli, Toast und Marmelade. Wir mussten aufgrund unzumutbarer Zustände das Zimmer tauschen, ursprünglich gab es kein Fenster im Zimmer und das Bad war unzumutbar, Handtücher, Fehlanzeige. Nachdem […] wir uns beschwert haben hat uns der patzige Rezeptionist ein anderes einigermaßen bewohnbares Zimmer gegeben. Da das Hotel aus vielen aneinandergrenzenden Gebäuden besteht ist es durchaus möglich je nach Lage des Zimmer die Orientierung zu verlieren. Die Betten sind sehr weich und durchgelegen was zu Rückenschmerzen führen kann. Das Licht im Zimmer hat sich nicht von alles vorgesehenen Schaltern bedienen lassen. Auch das Bad im 2. Zimmer war nicht besser ein altes verostetes Fenster, ungeputze Toilettenbrillen, ekelhafte Duschvorhänge, kaputte Wasserregler in der Dusche. Fazit: wer ausreichend Desinfektionsmittel und Werkzeug dabei hat, kann sich notfalls auch etwas länger im Zimmer aufhalten. Les mer

Hótelið var skítugt, klósett og sturtur virkuðu ekki, það var fúkkalykt bæði á gangi og inn í herbergjunum. Og svo má ekki gleyma að minnast á þennan "æðislega" continental morgunverð. Hann samanstóð af kornflexi, hvítu ristuðu brauði, smjöri og sultu. Það var ekki einu sinni boðið upp á ost eða annað álegg.
