I usually avoid hotels that include 'Beach' & 'Resort' in their titles, but as I was between the cities of Pensacola and Destin, it seemed like a good idea at the time. The hotel is as old as time itself, the rooms were smelly and in desperate need of refurbishment. The walls are paper thin, and you can hear every single door slam in the entire property. […] In fact, Ramada should be ashamed into knocking the whole place down and rebuilding. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. EVER. Les mer

The hotel it self was great. But the room has a mirror behind the door that allows you to see into the room if you don't have the curtian to the window set just right.. The mirror serves no real purpose other than to be able to spy in the rooms.. Was not happy to find out that people could watch us in our room if the curtian was not set just right. Our visit to Ramada was a great one. It was very clean, and was a great price for a beach front hotel with an amazing pool also.

Overall it was a great experience. The only issue was the air conditioner that did not seem to work properly. The room stayed humid and warm. The room could use some updating, but not a must. The A/C, however, should work properly for a hotel in Florida.

Hotel room was pretty standard, no problems there. However, the number reason I booked this hotel was for the large grotto pool and pool bar. I was told this would be a available during my stay. When I arrived, the pool was empty and the bar closed. First I was told the pool was closed for the season, until I found out from another guest it was drained […] the day before I arrived for unknown reasons. No one at the hotel would give me a straight answer as to why and simply said it was closed. The kicker is that the morning of my check out, they refilled the pool. Family vacation was great here at the Ramada! So much insure to do and great service! Everyone enjoyed this hotel and its beautiful setting, and right in the beach! We didn't want to come home! I would definetely recommend staying here to everyone I know.
"5 College Kids in Heaven"
This place was absolute heaven. We had 5 college kids - sleeping in 2 beds and the price we got was beyond perfect.... The location is what makes this place AMAZING. Clubs & the BEST sea food next door on the boardwalk, 2 pools at the hotel, a gym by the pool, BBQ joint next to the pool, swim-up bar, bar on the board walk on the beach, 2 restaurants […] in the lobby, & a beach about 20 seconds away from the room!!! (not to mention beautiful women to play beach volleyball with). Also, there is the Publix grocery store across the bridge which is about a 2 minute drive away from the hotel where we would get some groceries. This place was absolutely perfect and we are going to plan on coming back every spring break. Les mer

"Ramada Plaza Beach hotel - another great trip"
We stayed here last year and liked it so much we returned. Sometimes things do not live up to the memory but this did. We had a great time, the staff were great and the room was very comfortable. We will definitely return.

Very satisfied with the location of the hotel in regards to the location I needed to be close to. Loved being right on the beach, which was very well kept. Easy to get to many other locations of interest. Will consider returning there again for another vacation.

Stayed by myself and the bathroom, was TINY. No counter space, couldnt put anything down. There is No way two or more could use this bathroom. Hotel was nice once upon a time, its showing its age and wear. The internet had restrictions, I couldnt go to a Christian site, it blocked me. Also, was looking for a Air rifle for a nephew, and it wouldnt let […] me go there, as it showed up under weapons. Very Frustrating. The hotel staff, had no recommendations for places to eat, other than next door. If you dont use the internet, or dont mind being squeezed into the bathroom, it might be ok. Not worth the price, and I wont stay there again. Les mer
Hotel was a bit dated, but not run down. I loved the location. We ate at the hotel once for breakfast. Food was not great, would have been ok if the breakfast buffet was free, but its not and not worth what they charge. Staff in the restaurant, the most unprofessional I have ever seen anywhere. The location of the hotel was perfect- close to shopping, restaurants and Destin. The only complaint I have is about the smell of my room. It had a smell of a smoking room, although they called it "nonsmoking." My parent's room was next door and their room did not smell like ours. Looking back, I will not use this hotel again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our only concern was that the guest room was tight for 2 adults/ 2 children luggage. Our next stay we will plan for a suite. The hotel and services were excellent. The kid's play area was a lot of fun for my children, ages 4 and 6.

Stayed here from 07 Aug 2011-13 Aug 2011. The location was excellent--right in the perfect area to explore both Fort Walton and Destin. Not even a 2 min walk to the beach from my room. The 3 pools they also had were fantastic and included a swim up grotto bar in one. Seemed to be a very kid-friendly place. However, my room was a bit dark and looed […] quite old. It had several modern updates but the condition of the hotel room was less than stellar. The carpet was damp 100% of the time. I think a de-humidifier would alleviate some of the issues and my guess is that all the hotels right on the beach have this problem. Still, the location alone made this a great place to stay. Les mer
"Last Summer Fling..."
This was going to be our last summer vacation because school was starting on the next Monday. We chose Ramada Inn Resort because we had stayed there a few years back and the extra things they had to offer were excellent. The closeness to the beach, warm and cold swimming pools, restraunt and fitness center were all the things we were looking forward […] too. The hotel was an excellent choice because all the above were excellent. Our arrival was swift and the staff was very nice. Our stay was made great by the room service and onsite restraunt. The food was great and room service was also excellent. The pool with the swim to bar was cool and clean. The heated pool was a extra comfort as it rained and it was a cold rain. We stayed at the pool after it rained and swam in the heated pool. The onsite gift shop was very nice and the prices were competive as I purchase a t-shirt the last day since my original shirt for the day got wet from the rain. The beach cabanna was very nice and the access to the beach was beautiful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing stay at a nice hotel. Les mer

I have to say i have been to florida many times and have never stayed in a better resort!! The view was spectacular an the grotto poo was the best pool ever!! I am defintly coming back next year an staying a whole week this time!! I give a big high five to all who keep this resort up!
"great for families with small children"
I have stayed here a few times before and always enjoyed it. But they didn't have the kids area then. This time I had my 15m/o grandson and he had a blast! We spent most of our time at the pool because the beach was full of seaweed. Rooms were clean, staff was. Friendly, I will definately go back.

This hotel has a wonderful pool with a grotto swim up bar, it was awesome and right on the beach, would definitely stay here again if only for a weekend, there were 2 adults and one child and we had lots of stuff, and the room was kind of small, but the outside activities made of for that.

My daughter and I stayed for 7 nights in 7/2011. We stayed in the less expensive doubles room with parking view but were pleasantly surprised that our room was facing the neighboring hotel's pool and we only had to cross a courtyard to walk to the beach. There were good restaurants and shops within walking distance on the beach. We were only 10-15 minutes […] driving distance to Destin and Harborwalk Village. The hotel location was fabulous. However, the room we stayed in was very dated with no closet for clothes, tiny bathroom, no temperature control for the air conditioning, and a TV that was not a flat screen that took up a lot of valuable space. When one of the magnetic slide keys didn't open the door when we arrived, I was told by the front desk that I must have placed it near something magnetic like my phone. I was careful not to do that but I had to go back several times to have it reprogrammed. Neither key would open the fitness room and I had to rely on someone to open it or go back again to the front desk who told me that this has been a long standing problem. The housekeeping staff was extremely rude becoming upset when they found us still in the room at 8:30 am on our first day. We made it a point to be out early the next day and discovered she (same one) hadn't been there by 3 pm at which time we wanted to shower. Toward the end of the week when my daughter went back to the room to use bathroom, they were actually talking about her outside the room. So I give it 4 stars only for location and proximity to the beach which was the main objective of our vacation. I also got a great deal on the room. It was the same price on the hotels website but I was able to get an extra 10% off on hotels.com. Les mer

"Ramada on the beach"
The hotel was in a great location and the beach was great. The hotel in general is pretty old but for the most part clean. The staff was very friendly as was everyone we had interactions with. This might be the friendliest city I have been to.
"Great place for a family trip"
Our kids took advantage of the kids' activities that the hotel provides each day.. The girls that run that program couldn't have been greater. Each day they did something fun, and were able to socialize with other kids, thus making friends for pool play, etc. The rooms haven't been updated since the hotel was built, it seems... but we weren't there […] to stay in the room, so it was a minor concern. "Ramada Plaza Beach Resort - No surprises."
We spent several days following the Fourth of July holiday at this property and booked two beachfront rooms for our party. The reservations were handled properly, the rooms were available slightly before the stated check-in time and they were both clean and ready for our use. We had no problems or complaints during our stay - the restaurant was above […] average; the rooms were just exactly what we expected; the pools were clean but crowded because of the holiday period, and the lobby bar was a cool, calm oasis. Check out was orderly and quick with no surprises or hidden charges. Overall, it was a good experience and we would return (probably not over a holiday week in summer). Les mer

Very disappointed in this hotel. It started off by us getting to the hotel a few hours early. Not made that we had to wait 3 hours until the check-in time but wish they could have accomidated us. Really wanted a place that had a pool with a swim up bar. The Ramada does have this but the water was so cold and also the bar was in a little cave under a […] waterfall making it even colder. It was convenient to the beach and boardwalk. We had a non smoking room but the smell of smoke would come through the ventilation I guess from other rooms that were smoking rooms. The room was so outdated and the a/c made the worst noises making it hard to sleep. To top it off there was no late checkouts Les mer
