INdoor pool was empty. Desk clerk seemed to be surfing the net or talking on the phone instead of serving customers. Continental breakfast was marginal if you could find a place to sit. Cars parked outside of first floor rooms filled the rooms with exhaust when they started. Don't be in the shower when someone flushes a toilet, or be prepared to dodge […] hot and cold water blasts. "Ok place to stay but not convienent for ME"
Had to travel too far to get something to eat as I got in about 8 pm "ish". Place next door was not open for dinner. Ended up driving more than 5 miles to a Denny's. No elevator. (bummer) Desk clerk was pleasant. Bigger truck parking next door at a closed down gas station and an empty lot next to that. This was one of the worst motels we ever stayed in. It is located next to a train track and the trains were running all night. In the morning the continental breakfast ran out of sweet rolls. When asked about the rolls, I was told they were all gone and it was an hour before breakfast was over.. there was no place to walk our dog and there was broken […] glass all over the ground in the only open area. "Location is not great."
This Super 8 Motel is located across the street from the main east-west railroad line. There were many train wistles during the night. We were able to hear the wistles because we were awake due to all the noises in this Motel during Friday night.

The receptionist at the desk catered to all my needs, she even was the maintence person on call, she was wonderful. The worst thing was the train that ran all night, did not get much sleep. I did request to be moved to the backside of the hotel, which was much better. What you pay for is what you get, so this hotel is for those on a very tight budget. "Super 8 Gallup is NOT Super"
This place is old, dirty, and run down. Some kind of stain on the carpet (blood??) , great veiw - of junk yard / closed industrial real estate. Exterior doors don't work (next to pool - which I would be scared to swim in... and not for fear of drowning). Towels must have been ironed....how else could they be so flat and thread bare? I took off the […] bed comforter (but wasn't comforted - the white underside was stained....don't want to guess with what - and in more than one area). "Terrible place to stay!"
The hotel is run down, the manager/owner was sullen and unfriendly, the room seemed grungy and in need of repairs and updating. There is a railroad track (in use) nearby and you have the constant interruption of train whistles all night long. The side of town the hotel is on is seedy and the outer door to the parking lot did not close and lock. There […] is a complimentary breakfast that we chose not to take advantage of - it is offered in the hotel lobby. You can take the food back to your room, but I don't see why anyone would want to eat in the room. I would not stay there again. Les mer
"Even the vermin knew to stay away"
From the crumbs on top opf the bed, to the viscous liquid dried on multiple surfaces and glass ring marks unwashed, to the brown material that came from the bath tub drain....AWFUL! The topper? The swimming pool. When you can see the water line because it is all that has scraped the BROWN FILTH off of the depth numbers? Well, I regret having spent […] one second in said pool. STAY AWAY!!! Very nice place to stay. Room was as expected. Pool needed alittle cool breeze, close to old Route 66 and downtown area. The area around the hotel was a little depressing. Great to sleep.
Guest was to noisy while drinking outside late at night. Water in pool was green. There wasn't any fruit for the breakfast.

For the price they charged, I would not stay there again. It is VERY old, musty, and needs lots of renovations and upgrades. While checking out, almost every single person in line had a complaint about something not working (lights, TV, backed up drains, etc) Breakfast was only cereal, toast, and donuts with drinks. The people who worked there are really nice. We initially could not get the internet to work. But it seemed to work later on in the night. Nice breakfast in the morning with donuts, english muffin and cereal, but expected more variety from a Super 8.

We picked this motel for the price and because of the indoor pool but it was a terrible choice. The pool was out of order, the room was dingy with an old poorly working heater, and the breakfast consisted of coffee, bread, english muffins, and two kinds of bland cereal. It was all laid out on one counter in the entry way and there were only two small […] tables by the front door to eat at. It's an old cheap motel in almost every respect. Horrible horrible! I felt like we were staying somewhere in the early 80's. hotel was dirty and smelly very dirty carpet with stains, holes in the wall that were poorly patched up. This hotel is situated next to the railroad tracks maybe 100 yards away, and the train ran through every 20 - 30 minutes.

Short stay; everything was fine. Lots of hotels nearby to choose from.
Our air conditioner did not work in our room. Did not sleep as hot all night.

"Don't Expect To Check Out Fast"
I had 15 min before checkout and front desk was no where in sight. I had to track them down to make sure I did not get charged an extra day by the time I found them. If your a light sleeper I do not recommend due to close by train.

"you get what you paid for"
I got what I paid for. A room that was up two flights of stairs in a hot walkway and try doing that with loads of luggage that you just packed for a trip that had just began. Now if they had an elevator to help take up the luggage it wouldn't have been so bad. Also the train tracks were near by and the train went by about 3 time that night. Typical Super 8 although a bit older than most. Good value for what we paid. Towels a bit threadbare but everything spotlessly clean. Location on old US 66 about a mile west of center of a tired old town. Easy to get to, friendly staff, OK breakfast but truly "continental" and not a real meal.

Das Hotel bietet sauber Zimmer und ein soweit guten Komfort. Es liegt direkt an der Route66 und wäre eine gute Übernachtungsempfehlung wert, wenn nicht die Güterzüge -gefühlt- direkt durch das Zimmer fahren würden. und das bis spät in die Morgenstunden hinein. Der Lärm ist nicht akzeptabel!

Das grösste Problem in Gallup, New Mexico, ist - und da kann das Super 8 Motel grundsätzlich nichts dafür - folgendes. Entlang der wichtigsten Hotel-"Meile" zieht sich die wichtigste Güterzugs-Transversale von Ost nach West USA. Das bedeutet, dass andauernd, auf der Höhe von Gallup auf sechs Parallelgleisen, rund um die Uhr Güterzüge unterwegs sind. […] Anders als in Europa geben diese vor jedem Bahnübergang markerschütternde Signal-Pfeiftöne von sich. Sie werden also garantiert alle 20 Minuten unsanft geweckt, die ganze Nacht durch - grauenvoll. Das Super 8 Motel verfügt allerdings über Zimmer "hinten hinaus". Doch obwohl 14 Tage im Voraus buchten bekamen wir ein Zimmer direkt auf die Gleise. Wir haben in dieser Nacht kaum ein Auge zugetan. Ansonsten entspricht dieses Hotel etwa dem "Super 8"-Standard. Mit der Ausnahme, dass kein Kühlschrank im Zimmer war. Andere Zimmer hatten allerdings einen, wie wir beim Vorbeigehen an offenen Zimmertüren registrierten. Alles zusammen erlaubt nur eine Empfehlung: "Traveller - stay away from Gallup for the night!!!" Les mer
