Econo Lodge Bay Breeze - Seaside

We were just looking for a reasonable place to lay our heads. This motel was clean and serviceable. Just what we needed!

Alarm didn't work. Could hear neighbor snoring. Family party one floor down outside, so kept window closed, resulting in no air movement. Room was not as advertised, so was disappointing but adequate.

I looked at older reviews but notice the latest seemed to have a higher rating the previous dates. They must have listened. There a small breakfast, no pool, nice location, and room was comfortable for us. For the money..can't beat it..it was nice.

Too loud @ 2am.

Everything was sufficient for the price I paid, however our bathroom door didn't open all the way. It would get stuck on the tile. This was a little uncomfortable since I am a bigger person, however it was not a deal breaker.

We found the Hotel last minute and chose it because they claimed to have select comfort Matresses and they delivered! The place is a little dated but the staff were great and the rooms are clean. It is located 1 block from a major shopping area (target, ross, fastfood as well as sit down dining. I was visting with my family on the weekend of jan. 6-8 from El Salvador after a recommendation from my brother. We had a wonderful time and were treated like Kings. I would greatly recommend this hotel. If you are on a budget and need a nice place, come Here. M L

Good cost for it's nearness to Monterey. A little difficult to get to considering the oddly arranged streets surrounding it. Bed was comfy, the place was quiet (and we stayed on New Year's Eve). Breakfast was lacking though, unless you want to partake of the typical tasteless waffles, toast, cereal. Why doesn't anyone think to add some yogurt or cottage […] cheese or something different and fresh? Les mer

Cute hotel i like all the flower that they hanging up. We have one king bed room are room was very big and clean. We will going back again.

Booked through hotels.com.after traveling across the country for a 4 day event at the raceway,and checking in i go to turn on the a/c. after looking for several minutes,i call the front desk,and mgr says there IS NO A/C in this hotel. On the description of room emenities,it clearly list AIR CON. This is a mickey mouse operation and has no business being […] listed on the Hotel.com site. stay clear called hotels.com and rectified this immediatley and moved us to a new hotel in a booked up city. HUGE props to guy by the name of Jackson in hotels.com network. Credited my CC $25 to cover fuel to other hotel AND $100 hotels.com credit for a future booking Thanks to hotels.com for getting this clearied up after midnight !! Les mer

If you need to stay in a place thats close to Monterey at an reasonable price this is it . Close to Hwy 1 and shopping

To me the most outstanding feature was the fact that the bed was very comfortable. So often we have gotten a nice room but could barely sleep on the bed. Close to all the places in Monterey and just minutes from Carmel. Would stay here again!!

The check-in was fast but very basic. The room at the beginning looks fine. But when we try to sleeps we can't because of the bugs in the bed. So avoid ! Futhermore, the room doesn't have fit the description made (no ironing, ...)

Room Stunk Of Musty Odor , Had a Stinky Feet Smell, Crappy TV From the 70's . Beds were worn out sunken in very uncomfortable. Toilet in bathroom in squeezed between the shower and the wall no room to sit comfortably . Continental Breakfast is joke, old prepackaged cheerios and instant coffee with day old muffins.

This hotel is terrible. There was no elevator access and after a long day of driving on the Highway 1 we were probably in the hotel less than 45 minutes and we ended leaving because we were beginning to have bites and eventually my boyfriend's arms was full of rashes. Good for overnight

The management were very friendly and our room was cleaner than more expensive places we've stayed. Cons: Cleaning staff were yelling very loudly in the next room over around 10am. Hallway carpet had quite a few stains, would look much nicer if they were cleaned up. Pros: Rooms were immaculately clean, the bathroom especially. Bedroom was spacious […] and comfortable with lots of power outlets for computer, cellphone, etc. Staff were very friendly and the location was great. This is probably one of the nicest budget hotels I've stayed at. We we're only in town for 1 day and needed a place to sleep. The room was clean, the staff were friendly and it was very reasonably priced compared to other hotels and B&Bs. We will definitely be back! Les mer

Good breakfast.

it was ok for what we needed. The breezeway was carpeted and had stains...also smelled like stale urine. The rooms were ok...beds and bedding were comfortable, we were only there to sleep, we played all day. The first words from the front desk as I entered their office was "last name?" there was no hi, or welcome or any of those greetings. Bathroom was very clean. Beds were ok. the two chairs and the carpet had stains all over. they looked moldy too. I would normally walk bare foot in hotels but my entire family had to have shoes on all the time. Conveniently located not far from downtown Monterey. Room was clean and the fridge and microwave was useful. Breakfast was good including the coffee. There's a gas station and lots of shopping near by. There's even an area to hose off for divers/beach goers covered in sand. I would stay here again no problem especially for the price.

I don't usually write reviews, but wanted to share what a good experience we had here. The room was decent, and was a great deal for the price. We visited Monterey, which was only a short drive away and it was much cheaper to stay here. The breakfast was great, including oatmeal, cereal, muffins, waffles and toast. Although the hallways weren't the cleanest (kind of expected when the rooms lead outside), we were impressed at the size of the room. The very long countertop with cabinets chich held the microwave was very beneficial in saving floor space for my bags. This is a bargain in these parts of the Monterey Peninsula, and it's just clean enough and convenient to make me come back when I'm on a tight budget.

Great Room for the price. It was nice and clean and the people at the desk were very friendly and helpful. We were arrived late and they were great. The Continental Breakfast was average, toaster waffles, toast, muffins, fruit, hot chocolate, coffee, and juice. It is about 10 minutes from Monterey Aquarium. No elevator, didn't need the A/C, good fridge, coffee maker and microwacve. Modest TV selection but some static. Minimal breakfast offerings, nice couch but not tables in the lobby/breakfast room. Comfortable bed. Over all, satisfactory for the price.

A great place to stay with your family for the price. No complaints. Clean rooms and great proximity to Costco, Target, grocery stores and fastfood places, and the beach.

Driving from Walnut Creek, we wanted our picnic of Monterey and surroundings to last longer and decided to book something for the night. This turned out to be a great option - our room was pretty good, although the general condition of the hotel itself isn't all that acceptable. OK if you need a one night stop at a cheap rate. The hotel was ok but I would not stay more than one night. Bathroom was clean. Pillows and bed comfy. Also offered a 'continental breakfast' which mainly consisted of cereals, toast and muffin.

Seriously, what do you want? I wouldnl't want to spend a week here, but for a 1/2 overnight trip, the room was clean, the bed was nice and firm. Good pillows.

This is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for an affordable, no frills, but friendly place to stay. Conveniently located they had a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave in the room. Included is a continental breakfast with the essentials.

Its a nice and clean lodge with a very interesting interior in high quality, much more than we expected. The staff was very friendly and let us stay an hour longer without making terror or try to charge for it. Some big stores are nearby and the CA 1 is close, but not too close to be noisy.

I stayed here when completing an openwater scuba certification dive in Monterey. It was only about 10 minutes from the breakwater, and they have a hose to rinse sandy scuba gear. It's not a fancy hotel, but it was quiet & clean. It was also close to coffee shops which was great before the early morning dive. I'd definitely stay here again.
