Ceiba Country Inn - Ceiba

It was a nice experience, very clean. We stayed at room 1 and it was huge except the bathroom. It was a great experience overall and would recommend it to those who wants to escape the ocean for a night or two.

very very impressive after a long-day trip. we arrived late and the road was hard to see and steep ahead of the hotel. so at that time we were very unsured what would welcom us. but we were totally overwhelmed by the room after we opened the door. very very nice, tasty decoration, clean, stylized.......more, you can hear the sound of the birds and insects […] around your room. that's everything you want. what a pity we only stay for one night. it is not only a stay, but a kind of experience. I had read a few reviews on the B&B before I booked it which talked about the cleanliness of the hotel and they were right! It was one of the cleanest smaller hotels I had ever stayed at! What I loved about this place is that it semmed family-owned, so the service and friendliness is much better than what you get at any major hotel. I also loved that […] it the theme was very country style as the name of the hotel indicates. There are no TVs in the rooms, but there is AC. The view is fantastic, as the hotel is located on a hill overlooking the distance ocean. The surrounding area is very peaceful, a delight if you are looking for a nature retreat! The only down-side is the continental breakfast, which doesn't include much except for some fruit, breads, and juice or coffee. This was a very comfortable place to stay. The hosts were gracious, prepared a delightful breakfast of tropical fruit, home made breads, with cereals, juice, and coffee. The location was delightful, right against the tropical forest with beautiful views and delightful sounds at night.

Best hotel we have stayed at yet on this trip

I absolutely LOVED this cozy B&B. I rated it 5 stars based upon the location and hospitality. It is such a cute little hotel nestled in the side of the mountain. It had everything I was looking for: a well informed owner with lots of great suggestions of things to do, a clean room, a delicious breakfast, etc. I WILL visit again :)

This was our second year at the Inn. Again, our stay was very comfortable, especially having our take-out dinner on the patio outside our room surrounded by the rain forest and the songs of the coqui frogs.

We stayed at Ceiba one night, before taking a plane to Culebra, and our experience was great. Ceiba Country Inn is a charming little hotel, very clean, the common areas were neat and the room was very comfortable. We were surrounded by trees and nature, and fell asleep to the sound of coquíes. The best thing about our stay was the complementary breakfast. […] The home-made breads were delicious! It is an excellent place, very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent and the wireless connection was strong on the terrace, slower in the bedroom. We did not need the air conditioning system in February, it was enough to keep the windows open at night and enjoy the serenade of the rain forest. It may not be easy to find which is is […] understandable since it is in the outskirts of El Junque. You are actually in the middle of a fantastic botanical garden. The Ceiba Country Inn is definitely off the beaten track in an area of much natural beauty. But it is welcoming and friendly and the owners strive to meet their guests' needs. Don't expect an upscale environment. The rooms are basic, minus wifi or TV. For this you use the lounge or terrace. Relaxing in the breeze or mingling with other visitors is a […] plus. With the room refrig and use of a microwave or grill you can even prepare your own meals if you remember to get supplies while you're out. There are no services nearby. Great place to stay to relax, but a bit noisy at night with the owners dog and the assorted nightlife (frogs, etc). Beautiful view over the mountains to the coast.

The inn is right in the forest and provides a clean and affordable way to stay. I, my wife and daughter had a wonderful time here. Michael, the host, gave us great to do and eat recommendations. The place was removed enough to really feel like you were living in a PR neighborhood, but close enough to not feel like it was a hike to get back to. Amazing view from the deck. We arrived very early and Michael let us hang out there for hours, getting over our jetlag and playing Scrabble, […] until our room was ready. Rate was very reasonable. My only complaint is that if you're in the room below the dining room, you hear people moving their chairs around overhead. And if you'd been drinking margaritas the night before... well, it hurts the head. I think some of those things you put on the bottom of chairs would solve that issue pronto. Have fun! Les mer

Very clean, Friendly staff, lovely dog and cats.

The rooms are OK, breakfast is good, but the very best is the situation, in a hill overlooking a valley, surrounded by trees. Highky recommended.

For folks looking for a calm place in the country, this place is nice - but if you don't sleep soundly, or are likely to be kept up by noisy frogs (coqui) - you might consider someplace else. Michael's breakfast spread - incl his homemade breads, and very local fruit - was excellent.

We only stayed here one night and I was so sad to have to leave. This was a very quaint inn, practically in the rainforest. It was very relaxing with the coquis singing us to sleep! It was also nice to have a continental breakfast ready for us in the morning. It's also very close to Luquillo, the beach and other local activities. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night and I so wish we had planned to stay for a few more. The views from this cozy little B&B are breath-taking and while the surrounding neighborhood isn't much to look at, the sounds of the the coqui frogs and birds at night made us feel like we were in a tropical paradise. Michael (the American who runs the […] place) was very hospitable and helpful. He even drew us out a map so that we could navigate our way (in the dark) to a marina in Fajardo for a bioluminescent bay tour. In the morning, we were greeted with a delicious breakfast including local fruits and juices. The room was quaint (nothing too fancy and no TVs in the rooms) but just what we needed. Each room has an air-conditioner but I would recommend sleeping with windows open and the fan on. At that elevation, the breezes are constant and the temperature is very moderate. We loved this place and hope to go back next time we go to Puerto Rico. Check it out!! Les mer

What a gem of a hotel. Next to the rain forest aand you can hear the frogs all nite. The breakfast was homemade bread and cereal, coffee, and juice. I would stay again if we ever return.

We stayed at this place for two days when the hurricane Irene was in PR. The owners perfectly dealt with the situation. Our stay, despite Irene, was very pleasant and i can imagine how perfect it would have been without the hurricane. The bed and breakfast is situated on a hill with a really nice view on the ocean. My husband and I picked this hotel due to being in a central location to the places we planned to visit. But we found it was much more. It was such a quaint, and pleasant place. It felt so homey. Great area - would stay there again.

The stay was fine. Hotel is more like a guest house. It is remote to most points of interest. Very friendly staff. If you are up early you can meet the owner, Pedro. It is not the place to stay if you have kids or have to be in and out of hotel other than to sleep at night. Bring your favorite food and snacks because once you are at the hotel you would not want to return to main streets for food. the most important thing, be aware of the rainy season, the roadway between Ceiba and Fajardo gets flooded easily and cuts you off from getting to the north eastern part of the island, you would have to use back roads that are not safe for people visiting. We needed a place to stay while putting our boat away at nearby Puerto del Rey. The Inn was only 10 minutes away from the boatyard so it was very convenient for us. Being located at the edge of the rain forest ensured that we heard the sounds of nature all through the night. We stayed for 2 nights prior to taking a cruise out of San Juan. We were so delighted we booked another night to follow the cruise. It is some way east of San Juan but with ultra cheap car hire from 'Charlies Car Hire' (cannot recommend too highly!) it worked out far cheaper than certainly inferior accommodation nearer the capital. The hotel has a fabulous location at the outskirts of the El-Yunqe rain forest. It is managed by charming people. Me and my wife would love to go back there.

We arrived late in the evening. It was a little bit hard to find. We used a GPS and there were some signs. We had not eaten all day and the Owner reccommended a nice resturant for some local food. Worth the long drive just to see the unique neighborhood. You feel like u r in the jungle and it is very relaxing. Not fancy but we enjoyed it very much.

Since I stayed in here before and had my dog in his kennel with no problem at all. I thought that there was no problem on taking my dog with me this time. We made check in and went to our dog hunt test.When we arrived in the evening they didint let our dog stay. So we had to leave, the charged for the night.

Fantastic hideaway at the edge of the rainforest. This is for people looking for a low amenity retreat away from it all. Great host, wonderful balcony view and no neighbors (except the rainforest nightlife). I was looking for a quality hotel a short drive away from El Yunque rainforest set in a peaceful environment. I found these at Ceiba Country Inn. It's a 20 min drive from the rainforest and only 5 min off the main highway. We drove up winding roads and finally up a steep driveway to reach the hotel and we were not disappointed by the views. There are two resident dogs and 2 cats who are very friendly. You'll find hammocks and picnic tables on the back patio as well.The rooms are comfortable and clean, although not very modern (which was not expected). My favorite part was eating complimentary breakfast on the upper balcony while watching tremendous views of the blue sky and Atlantic ocean in the distance. My stay at this lovely inn was fabulous. Getting there was interesting. Follow the map instructions that come with the reservation. The instructions I found online took me down a closed back road. Two other guests had arrived by cab and we went to dinner together. Michel suggested a nice restraint in Fajardo, 5 minutes up the road that had just called with their specials for the evening. This little inn is run by people who really know what they're doing. It's a ways off the beaten track, and that is a big plus. The covered deck outside our room looked directly into the rain forest, and the coquis sang us to sleep. This is a good option for those looking for a clean, well kept B&B that is reasonably priced. The property sits on the hillside with nice views of El Yunque to one side and the coast on the other. The owner is very helpful providing restaurant recommendations along with good directions, as well as other info on the nearby attractions.
